During my lifetime I have sometimes crossed paths with people who were destined for greatness. Probably most of us have known someone who went on to do remarkable things. My friend Dag at No Dhimmitude once met the mother of Pulitzer-prize winning cartoonist Garry Trudeau.
In the 1960's my father owned a music store in San Jose, California and sold guitars, amplifiers and other equipment to rock groups and kids who aspired to rock groups. Three of those customers are now in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame: Jorma Kaukonen, lead guitar for the Jefferson Airplane (I eventually met all of the members of that band, but had an actual face to face acquaintance with Jorma - be bought a guitar from my dad); Tom Fogerty, rhythm guitar for the Creedence Clearwater Revival and Stu Cook, bass player for the same group. I also met Jack Casady, bass player of the Airplane, and saw Janis Joplin perform one night in a San Jose club before she was famous (she performed with Big Brother and the Holding Company). I didn't like her singing (she screamed a lot) and thought she dressed way too frumpy.
My wife, as an insurance claims adjuster, once adjusted the claim for a NFL Hall of Famer Quarterback, but I can't mention his name for ethical reasons. Alas, though she visited his home to inspect damage, she only dealt with his attorney and his security guards. He was off making commecials and being a TV announcer. She never met him.
My oldest son's claim to fame is that, when he attended Oak Grove High School in San Jose, California, he had a typing teacher named Mike Holmgren. Mike wanted to be a football coach, but Oak Grove already had a darned good one and there was no room for Holmgren. So Mike Holmgren left Oak Grove to coach at another high school. He kept getting better and better jobs, until one day he found himself the head coach of the Green Bay Packers. He was the coach of the NFL champion Green Bay Packers and just this past January was head coach of the Seattle Seahawks in the Super Bowl. Sometimes it's good to change directions when your life lacks sparkle. Holmgren no doubt finds his new job more exciting than teaching typing classes.
As Confederate infantry soldiers (extras) in the movie "Gettysburg" my brother and I met and chatted with actor Martin Sheen, who played General Lee, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, in August 1992. Don't care much for his politics, though. As a bizarre aside, the opposing attorney that my wife dealt with in the Quarterback insurance claim was one of my fellow Confederates at Gettysburg. We have a picture together looking like dirty Civil War soldiers waiting for Pickett's Charge. Life has many strange coincidences and bizarre connections that I often think are some kind of science working itself out, a force we do not yet understand. Hmm, very strangely, a few years later my sister and her husband found themselves in a hotel room right next to that of Martin Sheen, so she met him and chatted with him too. Did I mention I don't like his politics?
Yes, I've met a few people who became somewhat famous, but I consider none of them heroes. That term is reserved for others, like two men who lived near me in the San Francisco Bay Area, namely, Pat Tillman and Todd Beamer.
Pat Tillman was the NFL Cardinals defensive player, who gave up a $3 million professional football contract to join the army and fight the Taliban and later died in Afghanistan, tragically killed by "friendly" fire. I knew Pat's parents and lived in the same suburb of San Jose. The other hero is Todd Beamer. We lived within easy driving distance from one another though I never met Todd.
First, my connection with Pat Tillman is that I knew his parents, Pat Tillman Sr. his father, and Danny (perhaps short for Danielle) Tillman, his mother. I also knew his little brother Richard Tillman. Pat Sr. was the coach of my son's Pony League baseball team in Almaden Valley, in 1994 and 1995, an affluent suburb of San Jose, California. Richard was a member of the team (and also the star of the team). My youngest son was also a member of the team. Oddly enough, the team was the Cardinals and their colors red and white, the same mascot and colors of the NFL team Pat Jr. would play for in a few more years. When I knew the Tillmans, Pat Tillman was just beginning his studies at Arizona State University, where he played football for the Sun Devils.
Pat had played in high school at Leland High in Almaden Valley, just three blocks from our home. He was the league's most valuable player as quarterback of the Lancers in 1993. I never met Pat Tillman, though I did see him once, when he came out to the baseball field to help his father warm up the team. He had longisth blonde hair, or actually light brown with the top sun bleached blonde, and had a square jaw, a huge neck and pecs that spoke of many hours pumping iron. He looked like he could kill you with his bare hands. I remember thinking that I sure wouldn't want to mess with that guy. I suppose my youngest son's brush with fame is that Pat Tillman probably hit him a few grounders on that one day of baseball.
Pat Sr. and Danny were very proud of their sons. I sat many times in the bleachers talking to Danny during games, a very lovely, young-looking woman who one would never guess was the mother of three strapping brutes like the Tillman boys. Danny was a school teacher at Brett Harte elementary school in Almaden Valley. When my youngest son applied for admission to Bellarmine College Preparatory, a 150 year old, exclusive, high standards private Catholic prep school, Pat Tillman Sr., his coach, was gracious enough to write a recommendation for him. My son was accepted and graduated with the Class of 1999.
My wife and I often saw Danny at the local Starbuck's on Camden Avenue and would say hi. However, we haven't seen any of the Tillmans in years and are no longer in contact with them. We were very saddened, of course, at hearing the news of Pat Tillman's death and anguished at the pain this caused his parents.
Todd Beamer moved to California from Ohio just before his senior year, which he spent at a high school local to me, Los Gatos High School. Oddly enough, another hero of United Flight 93, Mark Bingham, was also an alumnus of Los Gatos High School. Another strange coincidence, since Todd and he didn't know each other, yet stepped onto that same fatal flight from New Jersey on September 11, 2001, a continent away from their alma mater.
Los Gatos is a small town whose borders touch those of San Jose, and the high school has been there since the 1920's. My own high school often played them in sports when I was a kid, and I admired Los Gatos High. It would have been my second choice had I not been able to attend Camden High, my alma mater. Los Gatos' mascot was the Wildcat, with black and orange as the school colors. The school has had some notable people associated with it, like alumnus Olivia De Haviland, one of the stars of the movie epic "Gone With the Wind." She graduated sometime in the 1930's.
Another inspiring character was Charlie Wedemeyer, the Coach of the Los Gatos High varsity football team in the 1980's. While a coach, Charlie was stricken with ALS, also know as Lou Gehrig's disease, a disorder of the nervous system. Charlie began to lose motor function in his arms and legs and was considered a terminal case, but he wouldn't give up. On a breathing tube and strapped upright in a golf cart, he led the Wildcats to a football championship, defeating St. Francis High by a point. In 1988 a TV movie was made to tell his story, "Quiet Victory." Everywhere you look, Los Gatos High seems suffused in heroes. I have always admireed Charlie Wedemeyer as a courageous soul who just wouldn't quit.
Another small connection I feel to Todd Beamer is that he was a representative of Oracle Corporation, who makes Oracle, the ERP (Economic Resources Planning) software, a fancy name for corporate accounting software. As a financial consultant to public corporations, I am familiar with Oracle. It is one of my two favorite ERP's, the other being SAP.
The next time I drive by Los Gatos High school, I think I will park my car and walk the pathway to the front door, past the spacious and famous front lawn, just so I can walk in the footsteps of Todd Beamer and Mark Bingham. Both of them were young enough to be my sons and I have sons in their age group. Since they have no graves to place flowers upon, it would be my way of communing with their souls so I can say "Thank you, and well done."

UPDATE to my post of April 15 - I finally saw the South Park episode that generated so much sound and fury among the conservative blogosphere. After viewing it, I can only conclude that WE'VE BEEN HAD. It was obvious to me that the screen that "censored" the image of Mohammed in the South Park episode was all part of the joke....and the point the authors were trying to make.
The entire show was all about networks and cartoon programs caving into the Muslims by refusing to show an image of Mohammed. So Kyle finally talks the TV network showing "The Family Guy" cartoon to go ahead with its broadcast of an episode with Mohammed. When they do, a black screen pops up and says that "Comedy Central has refused to show an image of Mohammed on their Network." In so doing, the whole point of the episode was demonstrated more effectively. If Mohammed had been shown, the episode would not have been nearly as effective.
This wasn't self-censorship, it was parody and was done on purpose. I am surprised that so many people didn't get the joke...or the point.
Comedy Central aren't cowards, just devilishly clever.

Brian Sussman, a conservative talk show host in the San Francisco Bay Area (KSFO, 560 AM), had a good idea today. Well, actually the credit goes to one of his callers. On May 1 the illegal immigrants are going to teach us all a lesson by staying home that day and not buying anything or doing any work. So we will call May 1 "Freedom From Illegals Day"! The freeways should be less crowded and everyone at the supermarket will speak English. Unfortunately, the illegals will still flock to the free medical clinics and welfare agencies to drain off public resources that they never paid for (but we taxpayers did). Oh well, half a burrito is better than none.
Some hispanic Leftist today claimed that calling an illegal immigrant an "illegal immigrant" was in fact a racial slur similar to the N word that bigots apply to black people. Nice try, Jorge. Liberals always believe they can erase any social problem (or shut off unwanted criticism) by redefining the language. Well if "illegal immigrant" is a slur, we can always call them "criminal immigrants." The latter is more accurately descriptive anyway.
Those who want to come to America should apply for immigration legally. So go home, illegals, and take your Mexican flags and Che Guevara T shirts with you. As actor Jack Nicholson once remarked, "Go sell crazy someplace else. We're all stocked up here."

According to the Drudge Report, Leftist alternative media is really hitting the skids. Let's hope their destructive ideology is as popular with voters as their blogs, books and broadcasts.
'PROGRESSIVE' MEDIA STALLS: 'AIR AMERICA' IN AUDIENCE PLUNGE NYC, 'DAILY KOS' BOOK SELLS ONLY 3,600 COPIES - Wed Apr 26 2006 11:39:51 ET-Left-leaning new media has hit turbulence at the marketplace, newly released stats show. A book hyped by major media as documenting a progressive revolution of "blogs" and political power, DAILY KOS 'CRASHING THE GATE,' has sold only 3,630 copies since its release last month, according to NIELSEN's BOOKSCAN.
ARBITRON shows AIR AMERICA in New York City losing more than a third of
its audience -- in the past year! Among all listeners 12+, it was a race to the
bottom for AIR AMERICA and WLIB as mid-days went from a 1.6 share during winter 2005 to a 1.0 share winter 2006.
HAA HAA! Looks like the market for moronic malarkey is mostly missing.
Sorry, I'm on an alliteration kick tonight.

The past ten days or so have had a very sick feel to them. We have the insanity of Islam continuing its daily murderous assault on humanity, the Egyptian bombings being the most current example. Islam seems to hate everyone, including Muslims, and wants to kill everyone, including Muslims. This isn't a religion, it's yet another Freddy Krueger sequel. Meanwhile the President of Iran continues to talk of wiping Israel off the map as he builds his nuclear bomb.
Meanwhile, back in the States, the treasonous Democrats continue to undermine their own country in the belief that this will win them seats in Congress. They attack Donald Rumsfeld and call for his resignation, but it is simply a predictable part of their playbook. Indeed, it is a good example of the Machiavellian mindset of the modern Democratic Party: attack the Secretary of Defense in the middle of a war, say that he is incompetent and give great moral support to the enemy in the process.
One remembers the leaked Democrat memo of November 2003, wherein Democrat members of the United States Select Committee on Intelligence plotted to misuse intelligence for partisan purposes, proving they love their party more than their country. The ruthless Democrats would sell out the war on terror if it meant recapturing the White House. They have no ethic other than their will to power.
Two years ago, Sean Hannity wrote (in his book "Deliver Us From Evil") about how that the Democrats planned many public circuses in which Administration officials would be implicated in wrong doing and publicly grilled in Kangaroo Courts, and how they planned to demand the resignation of a high Administration official on whatever pretext they could find, purely to embarrass and weaken Bush in an election year. Hannity proved right when they began to demand Rumsfeld's resignation in the midst of a war. So why are they now going after Rumsfeld again? Because a Congressional election happens this year.
All of the above is true, but I take little comfort in the free-spending Republicans, who came to Washington a decade ago to drain the swamp of political corruption but instead decided it made a pretty good sauna. President Bush is far better than anything the Democrats have to offer, but he is a big disappointment in many ways. He has done absolutely nothing about the tide of illegals who are flooding our Southern border and nothing realistic about ending our over-dependence on Middle Eastern oil. He makes nice speeches about how we are "addicted" to oil, as if there were other options immediately available. He talks of turning switch grass into methanol. He would be no less credible if he advocated wind sails for every automobile, or perhaps hamsters on turn wheels. What we need is to drill in ANWR and off our coasts and to build new oil refineries and nuclear power plants. Bush, however, doesn't have the gonads to tell the unpopular truth. He has failed to lead the Republicans or hold them accountable with the veto, failed to defend himself against the Democrats or their spokesmen in the main stream media, failed to clearly define the enemy and the threat we now face, and failed to articulate or advocate a realistic and effective energy policy.
So what do we do now? What should our strategy be? It's a big question.

OLD GLORY'S REVENGE
An American hating Muslim sets fire to an American flag, with unintended but hilarious results.
This great photo sequence has been traveling around the blogosphere for a few weeks. Today it was featured on Atlas Shrugs, a terrific blog. It shows a Muslim setting fire to an American flag, which then sets fire to him! This brings to mind a lot of things, e.g. poetic justice, Karma, the law of unintended consequences, "mess with the best, die like the rest," etc. For me, though, the photo sequence can be seen as a metaphor for Islam's 1400 year war on the non-Muslim world, and more specifically, on Iran's recent threats and provocations. Iran's nasty leaders want to build a nuclear bomb and wipe Israel off the planet; however, they are the ones who will be burned in the attempt.
Come to think of it, this photo sequence might also be a metaphor for a Jihadist's reward in the afterlife.
Or as my mama used to say, if you play with matches you're gonna get burned.

I finished reading Serge Trifkovic's "Defeating Jihad" last night. It is like a series of body punches to Leftists and liberals, or what Trifkovic refers to as "the elite class." With regard to Islam, Trifkovic first accurately defines the problem and then gives the solution. The book is organized as follows:
Part I - Understanding the Threat. Describes Muhammad's legacy, Islamic beliefs, what Jihad actually means (no, it's not an "inner struggle" as the elitist morons who govern us want to believe). Islamic history's violence and military conquests are described in the chapter "Jihad Through the Centuries." His conclusion to Part I states "Islam in the only religious doctrine in human history with a developed doctrine, theology and legal system of mandatory violence against unbelievers."
Part II - From Europa to Eurabia. Describes the damage done to Europe from allowing massive Muslim immigration. The terrorist acts in Amsterdam, London and Spain. Brussels, the new Medina, where EU members are exhorted to deal with the Islamic threat by pretending it doesn't exist, by censoring studies of Muslim crimes (like widespread rape) in Europe, and by funding mosques, being "more sensitive" to Islamic sensibilities (e.g. by creating speech codes), granting "affirmative action" to Muslims in Europe, and by criminalizing criticism against Islam or Muslim attitudes and behavior. Trifkovic concludes by stating that America needs Europe and saving the latter is well worth our time and trouble.
Part III - America - Insecure Homeland. The enemy inside the walls. How the White House and the liberal left delude themselves as to Islam's true nature. Muslim propaganda in the USA, including that of CAIR; radical Islam's partner in higher education, the traitors in Academia. Conclusion is that the anti-Jihad struggle is a propaganda war similar to the Cold War.
Part IV - Defense Abroad. The struggle against Islamic terror is a global issue that requires the US to make major adjustments of its global strategy. Democraticizing the Middle East may be a fool's errand; as long as the region is Islamic, Democracy will have little effect on the attitudes and violent culture of Islam. The US should support and not condemn Russia for its war on Chechnyan terrorism. The US should never take confidence in the loyalty or trustworthiness of Muslim "allies," particularly Turkey and Malaysia. Turkey should NOT be allowed into the European Union.
Part V - The Solution. The war against Jihad (he should have said "Islam") can and must be won. (1) We should spy on Muslims in our midst without restraint or apology as they represent a seditious ideology that is hostile to American interests and laws. (2) We should refuse or rescind citizenship to all Islamic activists and deport them. (3) We should profile like mad and ignore the hysteria of the idiot Left. Israel profiles with enthusiasm and without apology and it works, because of mathematical, statistical odds: a young Muslim man is literally tens of thousands of times more likely to carry out a terrorist attack in the United States than an Episcopalian, Roman Catholic, Orthodox Christian, a Jew, Hindu or Buddhist, or even a Lebanese or Palestinian Christian. To call this effective means of stopping terror "racism" is absurd. (4) We should refuse to grant security clearances to Muslims because their religion makes them untrustworthy. Muslim FBI agents, for example, have consistently refused to tape record conversations with terrorists because the latter are fellow Muslims. Muslims in the military is also a bad idea - for example, the Muslim US soldier in Kuwait who killed an officer with a grenade and wounded several soldiers. (5) Reform immigration laws to exclude Jihadists and secure US borders. (6) Supervise mosques and Islamic centers in the US. All sermons must be given in English and recorded. Any Cleric who advocates violence or discrimination against non-Muslims or women will be summarily deported.
Serge Trifkovic makes a lot of sense. We need not fight a lot of bloody wars against Islam, we need only to isolate it so it cannot hurt us. As Trifkovic says, "we need to get the US out of Mecca and Mecca out of the US." This won't happen until our leaders free themselves from their quagmire of self-delusion and wishful thinking and openly define the enemy as ISLAM. Only when we accurately define the problem will the solutions become obvious.

Mohammed was such an egomaniac. He believed all his personal preferences and pet-peeves should be made law over all humanity, so he had his counterfeit god so decree.
Mo didn't like music. He may have been tone deaf. So this great balm for the soul is forbidden to Muslims. The formerly sane singer Cat Stevens stopped singing, playing and recording after his conversion to Islam. And when do you ever read in the papers about the next tour of the Tehran Philharmonic Orchestra?
Mo didn't like house pets either, so no dogs or cats for Muslims. I suspect Mo was allergic to pet dander; in any case, once again his personal tastes are now the law for all mankind.
We should count ourselves lucky Mo wasn't allergic to flowers or all gardens in Muslim land would now be gone. Of course, the only flowers that grow in Mecca are rocks, so this wasn't a problem.
Too bad Mo didn't have an aversion to lying, robbery, murder and rape. But it's nice to know he was insistent on the things that really count.

Since we Californians were children we have heard legends of the Great Quake of Ought Six, the massive earthquake that destroyed many buildings throughout the Bay Area. But the quake wasn't the worst of it. It broke a lot of gas mains, and when people tried to light their ovens or turn on the gas in their homes, fires ignited everywhere. Soon the shattered city was an inferno, with huge smoke clouds and a strange wind created by the sucking fires.
Today a hundred years have passed.
A moment of silence for those who died there on April 18, 1906.

The Andrew Lloyd Webber musical "Jesus Christ Superstar" is one of my favorites. In that musical the chorus sings to Jesus: "Jesus Christ, Superstar...do you think that you're who they say you are? Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ, who are you, what was your sacrifice?"
The song is from the point of view of an agnostic, someone who doesn't know what the "true" religion is or whether Jesus was really the Savior, the Messiah, come to save the world from its sins. There are many religions in the world, and though I am not as devout as my brother and middle son, I have come to see Jesus as the best of the bunch. Whereas Muhammad's life was an example in barbarism and evil, Jesus' life was an example of love, charity, healing and reconciliation with God. The God of Jesus is a loving God, a Heavenly Father, who loves all of his earthly children. It is possible to have a personal relationship with this God. He is approachable and knowable. The god of Muhammad, on the other hand, is cruel, capricious, cold, hateful, vengeful and unknowable.
Muhammad came to kill thousands with the sword; Jesus came to suffer a humiliating and painful death so that millions might attain eternal life. He was scourged until his upper body was raw meat, whipped and ultimately nailed to a cross. Muhammad came to kill, rob, rape and enslave mankind; Jesus came to save it, to heal it. Muhammad made a lot of people dead and lame; Jesus healed the lame and raised the dead.
Under Islam, people are today stoned to death for common human frailties, such as fornication or adultery. But when the Jews of old prepared to stone an adulteress, Jesus halted the execution with one suggestion: "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." He then told the liberated woman, "Go and sin no more."
Jesus is the religion of love and life and reconciliation to God. Muhammad is the religion of hatred and death and eternal damnation.
Some of my favorite Bible stories include Jesus feeding the multitude with loaves and fishes, and the Sermon on the Mount, where Jesus told the crowd to trust in God, to "observe the lilies of the field; they neither sow nor reap, but even Solomon, in all his glory, was not arrayed as one of these."
No matter what your belief, Jesus' life is a glorious inspiration to all mankind. He represents the triumph of good over evil, light over darkness, life over death, love over hate, hope over despair.
Jesus loved mankind. He truly was a Superstar. Happy Easter everyone.
So I am retiring to the backyard in gloriously rural Stogie County to admire the green hills splashed with yellow mustard flower, to smoke an expensive capitalistic cigar with my pooch sitting at my feet. I will continue reading "Defeating Jihad" by Serge Trifkovic. It is a frightening book, in that it describes the EU leaders as being complete lunatics on the subject of Islam. They are typical liberals, in hasty retreat from reality, leaving their people and nations open to Islamic subversion from within. Their solution to violence and widespread rape committed by Islamic immigrants? Make "Islamophobia" illegal; raise Muslims to a protected class, exempt from criticism, increase educational efforts against "racism" and "xenophobia," and reinvent the English language so that it excludes such terms as "Islamofascim," "Islamic Violence" and "Jihad." Some European states have even allowed their national law to be superceded by Sharia for the Muslims in their midst. Meanwhile, the Muslim hordes keep on immigrating and reproducing, and there isn't a Charles Martel in sight.
I'll tell you more about it later.
Michelle Malkin had started a contest for a new Comedy Central logo, in light of its cowardly censoring of a comic image of Muhammad. I was at work so couldn't respond immediately. Now Comedy Central is just saying it was scared of violence and that's why they censored the South Park cartoon of Muhammad. Gee thanks Comedy Central! You just confirmed what we already knew! That you are CHICKEN and willing to further the quasi-dhimmitude that has overtaken the Western world in light of Islamic fascism.
It may be too late for posting on Michelle's blog, but here's my suggested new logo for Comedy Central. Note their new name and mascot.
By the way, any graphic that I create for this blog may be reused by any infidel blogger with my advance permission automatically granted.
The Washington Post ran an article about angry leftwing blogger Maryscott O'Connor of My Leftwing Blog yesterday. Seems Maryscott is just fuming with anger, wakes up everyday in a surly mood and expresses her rage at Bush and the Right through her blog. That's nice. I looked up her blog and posted the comment below.
Maryscott, I am as right wing as you are left wing. I think you are wrong about nearly everything you write about. Like most Leftists, you have no understanding of even the most basic economics or what is happening in the world. Your entire political philosophy is a collection of Moonbat bumper stickers and brainless slogans.
Don't like corporations? Just about everything you eat, drink, wear, drive and live in was made by a corporation. The computer you write on, this network, the software that runs it all were all most likely made by a corporation. What's the alternative, Mary? Hippie communes in Taos? Soup lines? Manna from Heaven?
Don't like the war on terror or the military? What alternative do you offer? How do we cancel the hatred and violence of Islamic cultures? Oh sure, I know what you'll say, we must be more sensitive, have multiculturalism, open the floodgates to Islamic immigration so we can become another disaster like France. But have you ever read even one book on Islam, the life of its prophet, or Islamic beliefs? Of course you haven't. The truth is, Islam has been at war with the rest of the world for 14 centuries and all the wishful thinking in the world isn't going to protect us from the next dirty bomb, anthrax in the water supply or airplanes flying into skyscrapers. Nor will a whole new lot of Leftist bumper sticker slogans.
So you're angry, big whoopee. I'm angry too, angry at the utter stupidity and suicidal insanity of the Left. You folks don't have a clue.

The much muted version of Playboy recently introduced in Indonesia has resulted in demonstrations, denunciations and protests by Muslims there. It appears that the Muslims were offended by the picture of a pretty girl on the cover. It was just her head and shoulders with a big smile, but Muslims complained that she should have been wearing a burqa (see Miss April at the right for proper attire for Muslim Playboy Bunnies).
We have received an advance copy of the new culturally sensitive Playboy magazine that will be introduced throughout the Middle East in a few days, showing pictures of Muslim girls with their faces properly covered by burqas. Playboy Hugh Hefner was quoted as saying, "This should solve the problem. A woman's head and shoulders are not all that important anyway. All men really want to see are butts and boobs."
More as the story develops.
The AP describes Moussaoui's hateful remarks in his murder trial. He is a typical Muslim extremist: he takes joy in other people's pain, saying that a woman Naval officer who wept on the witness stand as she recalled two associates who were killed "made my day." He expresses desire to harm infidels with further terrorist attacks, and feels a great sense of justification and satisfaction in attacking people who have done him no harm. He is openly hateful, cruel and vengeful. In other words, he's a Middle-Eastern Muslim, a walking adverstisement for the world's most hateful religion, the ideology that turns men into monsters.
One part of me shouts "KILL HIM!" But in truth, he would suffer far more if he is not "martyred," but imprisoned for life in security confinement, watching himself turn older each day in the mirror, without a wife, children, family or friends, without a future, without hope.
If he is martyred, on the other hand, he is revered as a hero in Muslim Land, looked to as an inspiration and example. As a prison lifer, he becomes an increasingly pathetic wretch, more worthy of pity than praise, and suffers a degrading, ignonimous end instead of glorious martyrdom. More important, if he is not martyred, then he has no guarantee of the Big Bordello in the Sky and loses his value as an example for Muslim youth.
I remember that day in June 1967 when Robert Kennedy was murdered by Sirhan Bishara Sirhan, a rotten little Muslim who resented Kennedy's support of Israel. Every few years an increasingly older Sirhan begs for parole and is turned down every time. He has found that there are worse things than death. His lot is continuing despair, desperation and hopelessness. Enjoy, Sirhan.
Yes, it would make Moussaoui suffer a lot more if we give him life imprisonment. In a few days or weeks after his cell door clangs shut in his face, he will no longer enjoy the limelight, the news coverage, the adulation of his fellow vermin. He will be quickly forgotten, his hateful name a mere footnote to history and he will be the living dead, alone, without any purpose to the gray despair that his life will become. No, don't kill him, it is far too kind. Let him rot.
NRO, Michelle Malkin, Captain's Quarters and others are reporting on Comedy Central's cowardly censorship of the latest South Park episode. This episode, a continuing commentary on the Danish cartoon controversy, contained its own depiction of Mohammed. Chicken Central censored the image and instead broadcast this message where Mohammed was supposed to be: "Comedy Central has refused to broadcast an image of Mohammed on their network."
Dhimmitude is alive and well and living in America. Who says terrorism doesn't work? American self-censorship is in full bloom for spring.
I am going to get a copy of this South Park episode (I have a son who knows how to download them) and do a screen capture of Mohammed's image and plaster it all over the internet. Maybe I will title it "the scene censored by Chicken Central."
CBS has an online article today about how American perceptions of Islam are growing worse over time. That's not a surprise - beheadings, car bombs, mass murder are not really advisable as part of one's Public Relations package.
The curious thing about this article, however, is the picture CBS ran with it. It shows a well-dressed Muslim man in what appears to be a posture of despair in front of an American flag. But the flag isn't the usual stars and stripes - the stripes have been removed in favor of a large Islamic crescent.
With leftist biased news outlets like see the BS, you always have to wonder what their real agenda is. Here's a screen shot of the web page. Click on it to see a larger version. Follow the title link to read the article.

The Left doesn't have a clue. Their error, as always, is falsely believing that their paradigms, perspectives and presumptions are shared by all humanity. They aren't. The Muslim extremists don't care how inclusive you are or how you tiptoe around the facts of Islamic violence, terrorism and intolerance. Sugar-coated arsenic is just as deadly, though it may taste better when swallowed.
Another example of unbelievable idiocy is the quote by a EU official stating that "jihad is fighting the evil within yourself." What pure, unadulterated horse manure. Jihad means, and always has meant waging war against infidels to force them to accept Islam, or alternatively, to become Dhimmis or dead. There is absolutely nothing in Muslim tradition or scripture that suggests jihad is anything else. (Another aspect of liberals is that they will believe any fairy tale that justifies their inaction in the face of hostile enemies.)
James Taranto writes in today's Opinion Journal:
Who's to Blame for Radical Islam? Here are two views on the question, the first
described by London's Daily Telegraph:
European governments should shun the phrase "Islamic terrorism" in favour of "terrorists who abusively invoke Islam", say guidelines from EU officials.
Backed by diplomats and civil servants from the 25 EU members, the officials are drafting a "non-emotive lexicon for discussing radicalisation" to be submitted to Tony Blair and other leaders in June. . . .
An EU official said: "The basic idea behind it is to avoid the use of improper words that would cause frustration among Muslims and increase the risk of radicalisation."
Along with civil servants from the Home Office, the officials have reviewed the impact of such terms as Islamist, fundamentalist and jihad when describing acts of terrorism and murder. "Jihad means something for you and me; it means something else for a Muslim," EU officials at a Berlin conference on radicalisation said. "Jihad is a perfectly positive concept of trying to fight evil within yourself."

UPDATE: Ken has moved his "Islamic Evil" blog to a new blogsite where they don't have childish tattle-tale tagging. Follow the link in the title above to see Ken's new site. I have updated my links at the right to include the new site as well.
Lookin' good, Ken!
I haven't received my hateful tag yet, so will stay at blogger for the time being. As soon as I get it, though, I will follow Ken to typepad.
Ken's blog "Islamic Evil" has been tagged by Google as having "Hateful Content." Liberals, Leftists and Islamofascists can tag your blog as having objectionable content and when your blog gets enough tags, it is no longer listed on blogger. Not a big deal, as people can still find it through a Google or other search engine. Anyone who logs onto the blog will first see a warning screen, giving them the opportunity to opt out of the blog that some have tagged as having "hateful content." It's kind of insulting, but Google doesn't make any judgments on their own; apparently it is based on the number of tags you get.
Does Ken's blog contain hateful content? Yes, it surely does, but he's not the author of it. Islam is the author. Ken's blog is not to express hate, but to expose it. It is very objective in this regard and merely points the reader to factual references and events concerning Islam's murderous and intolerant nature. Any ideological opponent can apparently get you tagged as hateful by having fellow ideologues log on and tag you. Democrats can tag Republican blogs as hateful and vice versa. I have seen some Muslim blogs that I could have taggd, but did not in the interest of free expression. Let the debate roll on.
Ken need lose no sleep over his Google tag. It only means he is being effective and hitting the mark. When the foe cannot refute you they will attempt to shut you up. It won't work, as Ken's blog pop's up at the top of the list when you do a websearch for Islamic Evil. The blog covers so many facets of Islam that people will find it no problem.
So to Ken I say, "Well done." The Islamofascists' lame attempt to censor you is but the discharge of a pea shooter at an elephant.
I am not blind to the problems of immigrants. My wife is a legal immigrant and a naturalized citizen of the United States. My daughter in law is a legal resident and immigrant from Canada. Both my wife and my daughter in law had to jump through many legal hoops to get here; they both played by the rules and respected U.S. law.
Until the latest demonstrations in favor of illegal immigrants, I had retained a certain amount of sympathy for those Mexican illegals who come to the U.S. seeking work. I guess I still have a little, but my attitude towards illegals is growing harder. Here we have millions of them in the United States, many on welfare, many committing crimes, and still we have to listen to the latest morality play. The illegals insult us by demanding non-existent rights while waving their Mexican flags and calling us racist names. See photo at left. This is our home, Senor Jerkoff, and we aren't going anywhere. But you are.
Western Civilization has grown soft, like cowardly, over-doting parents who respond to their spoiled childrens' tantrums by caving into their demands. The brats learn early that temper tantrums yield goodies. Soon they come to believe that every kindness, every gift, every consideration is a sacred right and they are enraged when they don't get it. France is the primary example, but the USA isn't far behind.
There is more going on here than meets the eye. In the 1930's an Italian Communist, Antonio Gramsci, posited that Western capitalism could not be overthrown without first destroying the religion and culture. He argued for a long-term infiltration and corruption of our culture, a kind of cultural terrorism, where the existing belief system could be torn down and replaced over time with group-think Socialism. The Left has supported Gramsci's program for years, though they may be unaware of it. If our borders are erased, if our language is no longer primary, if Christianity can be ridiculed and removed from public view, then we become a shadow of our former selves, no longer possessing the will to resist and defend our civilization. In short, we no longer have moral clarity, no longer have confidence in ourselves or our traditions.
Examples of these Gramscian schemes can be seen in the ACLU suing schools for allowing Christmas caroles at Christmas, or government funded art displaying a crucifix in a jar of urine, or local governments and universities banning the American flag for fear it will offend foreigners who hate us. Another example might be the idiocy of same-sex marriage, another sacred cause of the Left. The Left has also furthered their cause by persuading ethnic groups to refuse assimilation while retaining their native tongue rather than learning English. Their latest attacks are to remove our Southern border, allowing Mexican nationals to enter and leave at will, with all the rights and privileges of U.S. citizenship but without any of its obligations. The idiots in my state of California even voted to pay for illegals' college education by treating them the same as residents.
Western Civilization is not being attacked head on; it is being dissolved, slowly, over time. We are not dying from one huge thrust of the scimitar, we are dying the death of a thousand cuts. We hardly notice it's happening, and that allows the weak to rationalize inaction.
Remember the old analogy of the frog? If you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water it will jump out immediately; but if you put him in a pot of cold water and increase the temperature slowly, he will boil to death before he realizes there is a problem.
Fellow frogs, it's time we realize that this pot we're in is not a sauna. We must do something about it.

Trudeau and his ilk succeeded in stopping the Vietnam War, with a default victory to the Communists, who then proceeded to slaughter 2.5 million Indochinese peasants. The blood of those dead are on Trudeau's hands and on those of every liberal, leftist and pacifist who demanded peace at any price. These fools are yet to learn that there are worse things than war. I doubt they will lose any sleep over it though. There is no evil or atrocity that a liberal can't easily dismiss from his own mind and heart, content that since it wasn't the subject of a New York Times editorial, it never really existed at all.
UPDATE: An article at Frontpagemag.com today really refutes the notions of Gucci Liberals like Trudeau. The article, called Forward Strategy versus Cut and Run by Thomas G. McInerney and Paul E. Vallely , almost seem to be addressing Trudeau himself. They write:
This Cut and Run crowd does not recognize that the forward strategy is
essential just as it was in WWII and the Cold War. We had millions of troops
overseas in WWII and almost a half million during the Cold War. Germany, Italy
and Japan were defeated with forces in theater and Communism was defeated with
forces forward deployed into Korea, Japan, Philippines and throughout Central
Europe. Today we are forward deployed into Afghanistan and Iraq plus other
locations in the Middle East. It took us about 40 years to defeat Communism and
two intense combat theaters in Korea and Vietnam plus numerous other campaigns
like the Berlin Airlift, Berlin Wall Crises and the Cuban Missile crisis to
eventually win. However, the Cut and Run strategists do not appreciate
that we must change the region and apparently think defending ports and shopping
malls alone will defeat Islamic Extremism. They don’t get it. We must take
the fight to the Islamic Extremists on their territory and it will be intense
and ugly at times. As a matter of fact Cut and Run doesn’t address how they will
defeat this ideology let alone acknowledge that it is the threat. They just want
out and say if we leave things will get better.
David Horowitz is one of my favorite writers and favorite people. He was raised by Communist parents and thus became a radical in his early years, leading anti-war demonstrations and other subversive activities in the the 1960's. But David had a brain and a conscience, and it slowly dawned on him that socialism and communism were failures that never worked. They destroyed human productivity and human freedom. There were no exceptions. He began his slow and painful move to the right, a journey that is chronicled in his book Radical Son. Many other books followed, but his most recent is The Professors: The 101 Most Dangerous Academics in America.
Since the 1960's colleges and universities have become the last refuge of the dying ideologies of the Far Left. The Leftists have holed up in this final fortress, perhaps for their last stand against reality. They have regularly denied tenure to professors of conservative persuasions (no matter how qualified in their field) and actively hired, supported and celebrated the most god-awful extremist kooks. Communist Angela Davis, who had a hand in a jailbreak in which the judge was held hostage and murdered, is now a sitting professor at University of California at Santa Cruz, where my youngest son graduated only two years ago.
Other dubious stewards of college age kids' education include Nicholas De Genova, a Communist professor at Columbia University who called for "a million Mogadishus," the military disaster in Somalia in which 18 U.S. soldiers lost their lives. De Genova sounds like a raving lunatic as he denounces Western Civilization as bastions of imperialism and white supremacy. Not surprisingly, he also hates Israel and wishes to see it destroyed.
Another "professor" described in The Professors includes Bernardine Dohrn, a professor of law at Northwestern University. In the 1960's she was the leader of the radical and violent "Weatherman" faction of the Students for a Democratic Society, an antiwar leftist group that actively supported the Communists drive to annex South Vietnam. Her views today are as radical as ever, but apparently Northwestern couldn't find a better qualified law professor. The truth is that she was hired as a reward for her radical past and her extreme views.
People who hate America and Western Civilization tend to hire and associate with others who reinforce their biases rather than those who might challenge them. They seek psychological mirrors of themselves, people who reinforce their prejudices and give them a false sense of validation. In such an atmosphere there is no "reality check," no accountability from competing ideas. Not surprisingly opinions become increasingly radicalized in that environment and leftist caricatures like Ward Churchill and Nicholas De Genova become the norm.
Indeed, the Left has long captured both the lecterns of learning as well as the main stream media, where they now wallow in an incestuous orgy of self-validation and stagnant ideologies, where competing ideas are suppressed and even demonized. For instance, they have not received Horowitz's book The Professors with kindness and objectivity. On Amazon.com where the book is sold (follow the title link), angry leftist academics regularly excoriate the book without having actually read it, and a hacker recently replaced the Amazon page title with one that said "Springtime for Stalin and Other Hits." The American Amazon page was repaired after readers reported it, but as of today the Amazon UK page still has the hacked title. See it here.
Horowitz says that of all the books he has written, this one has engendered the greatest wrath from the Left. That's a great reason to buy it. Do so today.

I first took notice of Gene Pitney in 1964 when I heard him sing "Town Without Pity," on television, for the Academy Awards show, if I remember correctly. I was really moved by his powerful voice and the words to "Town Without Pity" spoke to me as a young man in the dating scene. Many older adults considered us hoodlums and many of us were not and resented the suspicion and distrust.
The world is a bit more empty now. I will miss his great talent.
Here are the words to the song I mentioned.
Town Without Pity
When you're young and so in love as we
And bewildered by the world we see
Why do people hurt us so
Only those in love would know
What a town without pity can do
If we stop to gaze upon a star
People talk about how bad we are
Ours is not an easy age
We're like tigers in a cage
What a town without pity can do
The young have problems, many problems
We need an understanding heart
Why don't they help us, try and help us
Before this clay and granite planet falls apart
Take these eager lips and hold me fast
I'm afraid this kind of joy can't last
How can we keep love alive
How can anything survive
When these little minds tear you in two
What a town without pity can do
How can we keep love alive
How can anything survive
When these little minds tear you in two
What a town without pity can do
No, it isn't very pretty what a town without pity

My last post, showing my email to http://examinethetruth.com, was a little over the top. I guess I shouldn't have said I hate the webmaster, as I don't know him. But I do hate Islam with all my heart and make no apologies for it. I do not recant my desire to see every mosque reduced to rubble, or at least converted into a Piggly Wiggly fast food place. Also, I do not recant my desire to see every Muslim terrorist dancing at the end of a rope. As for the non-terrorist Muslims, I would like to see them converted to non-violent religions so they or their progeny are not tempted to follow the example and teachings of their Satanic False Prophet.
When I wrote my email to Nadir, I had just looked at the updated Prophet of Doom website (see my links at the right) and took a look at the stills of the Nick Berg beheading. Some Muslim animal who sawed off his head is holding it in his hands and looking at it. I remembered Berg's horrible screams as they slowly cut off his head. So in viewing these photos, my heart was filled with hatred for Islam. He was someone's son.
Don't worry, I am not going to kill anyone (except in self defense) or destroy any mosques. But I will speak out against the Islamic evil and I will vote for those with the spine to do what needs to be done: (1) stop all Muslim immigration into the West; (2) deport those already here, and (3) begin a crash program to achieve energy independence so we can isolate the Muslim world where they can't hurt us.
There's a new Muslim website that is full of piss and vinegar and anxious to debate leading apostates and infidels on why Islam is the "true religion" and the Koran the "word of God."
Here's what I wrote to them today.
To the webmaster, www.examinethetruth.com:
Hi Nadir. I hate Islam. I hate the Koran. I hate you.
The reason is simple. In the past 1400 years you Muslim bastards have murdered millions of people simply because we do not believe that an illiterate and horny bedouin was a prophet of God. We believe he was a false prophet, of which there have been many. The man was clearly a psychopath, very evil. He will burn in Hell.
When I hear Nick Berg screaming in horror as his head is cut off, or see pictures of the children of Beslan lying dead and bloody, or a picture of a Malaysian schoolgirl on a slab with her severed head at her side, then I know all I need to know about Islam. Islam is the religion from Hell; it is Satan's most successful enterprise to date. In your religion, Evil is Good and Good is Evil.
I hope I live to see the day when every mosque is reduced to rubble, every Muslim terrorist hanged from a lamp post, and every Satanic Koran heaped in a huge pile for a bonfire, one that we will use to roast pork over for our celebratory meal of victory.
By the way, I have a blog, http://www.saberpoint.blogspot.com/ in which I ridicule your hateful, evil and murderous faith on a daily basis.
You are right though: the Koran had to be created by a non-human source, and that source was Satan.
Islam must and will be wiped from the face of the earth.

Evil loves Evil. A marriage made in Hell.

D.T. Devareaux is a fantastic digital artist who runs a blog called "The Study of Revenge." His cartoons present more commentary than a thousand word essay. One look is like having received a long lecture on the subject matter in an instant. That's how much his artwork conveys. Take a look at his latest creation, "My Choice," about the abortion issue. Be forewarned: this is not for the liberal feminist. This latest is like a slug in the gut, as tactless as tear gas and as subtle as an electrified fence.
D.T. leaves no wiggle room for rationalizing evil, no way of painting a happy face on the vulgar and rotten. He really kicks ass. D.T., in my opinion, has great moral courage and a backbone of steel. I like that even more than I like his fabulous art.
Not too long ago, the Islamonazis that he loves to skewer flagged his blog as "hateful." Soon thereafter, Google stopped listing his blog on their list, though you can still access it from the internet and also find it with a search engine. They also applied a content warning to anyone who who visits his blog that it may contain "hateful content." It doesn't seem to matter, though: one of his posts gathers more comments than all of mine put together. He uses as his logo the picture of the Invisible Man; but D.T. isn't invisible: Google only wishes he were. (Update: the picture of the Invisible Man has disappeared from Google's repository so I have replaced it with one of my favorite D.T. cartoons. Does the cartoon say it all or what?)
So do check out D.T.'s blog. Now I am going to go link it before I forget.
Trifkovic is still making sense and has released a new book, Defeating Jihad. Last Friday Frontpagemag.com posted a must-read interview with Trifkovic. Trifkovic advocates strong medicine for the jihad disease, one that will taste very bitter to the leftists-liberals-Democrats-Dhimmi Fascists who are doing their best to commit cultural sucicide on behalf of all Westerners.
Trifkovic states that energy independence for the West is an essential part of our overall strategy, as well as actively profiling Muslims in the West, stopping Islamic immigration into the West, and deporting those non-citizens who are still here.
I would go a step further and deport the citizens who are potential jihadists too, on the grounds that they lied when taking the oath of citizenship, which is to elevate the U.S. Constitution as the sole source of law under which they will live. Even "peaceful" Muslims are a threat, because their religion commands them to commit violence and to lie about their true intentions (a practice known as taqiyya) in order to defeat their enemies. Meanwhile, they are in the West, breeding like rabbits in order to overtake us demographically 50 years from now. When they are finally a numeric majority, that's when the true face of Islam will be unveiled, when it's too late to do anything about it. The U.S. Constitution will be replaced by Sharia and those of us allowed to live will be reduced to the status of Dhimmis.
The insanity of doing nothing is demonstrated by Trikovic, who quotes author Antonio Socci.
Socci states that in the past century some 50 million Christians have been killed primarily or exclusively for the reason of their faith and that an average of 160,000 Christians have been killed every year since 1990, the vast majority by Muslims in the Third World. Predictably, this ongoing slaughter is ignored by the mass media and Christians in the West.
Trifkovic tells what we must do to defeat Islam:
It demands a sustained, bold response that has failed to materialize so far. We are losing the war because our elite class does not allow the enemy to be defined. The
squeamishness of European and American bien-pensants alike in naming the
enemy is but one sign of a shared malaise that hampers a coherent effort....The
victory will come not by conquering Mecca for America, but by disengaging
America from Mecca (energy independence is a must!) and by excluding Mecca from America with a new immigration policy, soberly defined and rigorously enforced. The risk can, and must, be managed wisely, resolutely, and permanently.
Much of what Trifkovic advocates will be impossible unless we first remove the leftist-Dhimmi-liberal hold on our levers of power. We must replace them with elected officials who understand both the threat and the solution.

I don't mind if we attack Iran as long as we don't try to make them into nice little democrats, purple fingers and all. As experience is teaching us, they will use their democracy to elect Muslim fanatics who will then replace their new constitutions with Sharia law. Persecution and murder of Christians and other religious minorities will soon follow. No, I say let's just bomb the hell out of them and keep our troops a long ways away from the smoking craters we create. I don't want to reform terrorists or democratize them. I just want to kill them. But then again, I'm a man of simple tastes.
