A Monument To The Democratic Party

I found this nice picture of the aftermath of the Democrats' cut and run policy in South East Asia. They are looking to make a sequel in the Middle East. If they ever dedicate a monument to the Democrat Party, this should be it.

The good news is that polls show the Democrat Congress has an approval rating even lower than that of President Bush.

Meanwhile, the thugs in Tehran are confident they can kidnap British sailors in Iraqi waters and get away with it. I would consider this an act of war, if I were Tony Blair, and formulate plans for retribution. One such plan is the seizing of an island off Iran where gasoline is off loaded from foreign ships, thus effectively cutting off Iran's fuel source.

Iran has lots of crude oil, but little gas. Take out their one refinery and seize their island, and soon everyone in Iran is walking. If that doesn't produce the captured Brits, then a full blockade of all goods going into and out of Iran would be the next step, with bombing of their nuclear facilities the third.

I Am John Doe - Sue Me

Michelle Malkin has a great post today about the Flying Imam's lawsuit against the "John Does" on the American Airways flight who complained about the Imam's provacatory behavior. Here it is (pass it on):

Dear Muslim Terrorist Plotter/Planner/Funder/Enabler/Apologist,

You do not know me. But I am on the lookout for you. You are my enemy. And I am yours.

I am John Doe.

I am traveling on your plane. I am riding on your train. I am at your bus stop. I am on your street. I am in your subway car. I am on your lift.

I am your neighbor. I am your customer. I am your classmate. I am your boss.

I am John Doe.

I will never forget the example of the passengers of American Airlines Flight 93 who refused to sit back on 9/11 and let themselves be murdered in the name of Islam without a fight.

I will never forget the passengers and crew members who tackled al Qaeda shoe-bomber Richard Reid on American Airlines Flight 63 before he had a chance to blow up the plane over the Atlantic Ocean.

I will never forget the alertness of actor James Woods, who notified a stewardess that several Arab men sitting in his first-class cabin on an August 2001 flight were behaving strangely. The men turned out to be 9/11 hijackers on a test run.

I will act when homeland security officials ask me to “report suspicious activity.”

I will embrace my local police department’s admonition: “If you see something, say something.”

I am John Doe.

I will protest your Jew-hating, America-bashing “scholars.”

I will petition against your hate-mongering mosque leaders.

I will raise my voice against your subjugation of women and religious minorities.

I will challenge your attempts to indoctrinate my children in our schools.

I will combat your violent propaganda on the Internet.

I am John Doe.

I will support law enforcement initiatives to spy on your operatives, cut off your funding, and disrupt your murderous conspiracies.

I will oppose all attempts to undermine our borders and immigration laws.

I will resist the imposition of sharia principles and sharia law in my taxi cab, my restaurant, my community pool, the halls of Congress, our national monuments, the radio and television airwaves, and all public spaces.

I will not be censored in the name of tolerance.

I will not be cowed by your Beltway lobbying groups in moderate clothing. I will not cringe when you shriek about “profiling” or “Islamophobia.”

I will put my family’s safety above sensitivity. I will put my country above multiculturalism.

I will not submit to your will. I will not be intimidated.

I am John Doe.

Iran Not Afraid of "Paper Tigers"

Tyrants are emboldened by cowardice. The Democratic Party has made it clear that America is a paper tiger, easily discouraged when the going gets tough. I have no doubt that this was a factor in the Iranians’ decision to abduct the fifteen British marines and sailors. When Jimmy Carter was the Democratic wimp President back in the 1970’s, his appeasement of Iranian imams only served to embolden them against the United States, and their followers invaded our embassy there and took all of the marines and American diplomats prisoner. They knew they had nothing to fear.

Appeasement does not save lives, it costs more of them. It does not prevent wars, it always emboldens despots, making a wider war more likely. With the Democrats in control of congress and, God forbid, the White House in 2008, the crazy Iranians will have a field day. Then it will be only a matter of time before they make good their threats to attack Israel.

Iran Playing With Fire

Iran captured 15 British sailors and marines a couple of days ago. The Brits were searching cargo ships before they enter Iraq waters but may have strayed into Iranian waters. Or not. In any case, the Iranians captured the Brits, have transported them to Tehran and are threatening to put them on trial for "espionage." Even more ridiculous, they are calling the Brits "insurgents."

What will be done about it? Who knows. I suppose one must try quiet diplomacy first. And when that fails, bomb the bastards back into the stone age.

I'm joking. A complete blockade of all Iranian ports would be the first step. Then if that failed to elicit the Brits' release, then, and only then, would we bomb them back into the stone age.

Or as my eldest son likes to say, "let's kick their ass and take their gas." (Gas as in "petrol" if you're a Brit.)

Portland Peaceniks Support The Troops!

Better politics through Photoshop. To view the original, see the previous post below.

Note: Sorry for the obscene words in these pictures, but this blog is not for delicate sensibilities.

When one is dealing with human offal, it can be, well, awful.

Portland Protestors Go Over The Top

Here's a picture of some of the anti-war protestors at the Portland protest last weekend (Hat tip, Little Green Footballs). It seems the Left is getting more over the top with each passing day. Maybe they'd like to start their Marxist revolution.

I wouldn't try it fellas.

Muslim Beheaders of School Girls Sentenced

In 2005 some Muslims in Indonesia decided it would be a nice religious exercise to behead some Christian schoolgirls. So they got their sharpened machetes and ambushed some on their way home from school. Three girls were beheaded and one escaped, badly slashed but alive. One of the victims is in the picture to the left. We get a lot of heat at this blog from liberals who think our distaste for Islam is some form of "racism." This picture (warning, graphic image of beheaded school girl) should put things into better perspective for them.

Under Islamic law a Muslim may not receive capital punishment for the murder of non-Muslims, and the three perpertrators did not receive such a sentence. Instead, they were sentenced to 14 to 20 years imprisonment. Infidel life is cheap in the Muslim world. Well, actually, all life is cheap in the Muslim world, but Infidel life hardly raises an eyebrow.

Murder of infidels is commonplace in Indonesia, which is 88% Muslim. In 2002, radical Muslims blew up a nightclub killing 202 people, most of them foreign tourists, including 88 Australians. The mastermind of the plot, a smiling terrorist named Ali Amrozi bin Haji Nurhasyim (see picture at right giving "thumbs up" at his trial) was convicted and sentenced to death, but the high court of Indonesia reversed his death sentence. The smiling murderer's ultimate fate is said to be uncertain, but look for him to be released in a few years.

Wingnuts 3 - Moonbats 1

Looks like the Left's big Peace March last weekend was a fizzle. Reports from our people on the ground say patriotic citizens outnumbered the Lefty-libs by three to one. The newspapers did their best to ignore those statistics, however. Still, it has to be disheartening to those aging hippies with the gray ponytails.

The picture at the right was taken of the San Francisco demonstration by the Right's most famous photographer, Zombie. Zombie goes to these moronic convergences and photographs the flora and fauna in their natural state - clueless and unwashed.

And you all thought I was kidding about the causes these people support!

The Ignorance and Arrogance of Certain UCLA College Kids

I am getting a number of leftwing visitors of the KOS kid variety from a blog called “history” that is run by a gaggle of punks at UCLA. They think I’m a Nazi for wanting to deport Muslims and halt all further Islamic immigration into the United States. Their blog post title is “I can hardly wait to read his prison diary,” as if I were Hitler about to write my version of “Mein Kampf.”

Pimply faced college kids like to imagine that they are profoundly informed and enlightened. The truth is that they possess a veneer of knowledge and are both ignorant and arrogant at the same time.

There is a big difference between my take on Muslims and Hitler’s take on Jews. Jews in Europe did not launch thousands of violent attacks on the citizens of their host countries. Jews did not sponsor or engage in terrorism. Jews did not follow a religion whose core principle was the mass murder of non-believers. Jews did not have a 14 century history of killing millions of Christians, Hindus and Buddhists and enslaving millions more. Judaism, unlike Islam, is not the world’s most violent and intolerant religion. Islam, unlike Judaism, is not merely another religion. It is a totalitarianist death cult.

Muslims already have their own version of “Mein Kampf.” It’s called the Koran. It is a hateful book advocating violence. And there are no other people on earth who hate Jews as much as Muslims do. This is why Muslims furnished Hitler with a regiment of Waffen SS soldiers – all Muslims. It is also why "Mein Kampf" is still today one of the best selling books in the Muslim world. If UCLA punks want to draw parallels to Hitler, they should take a good long look at Islam.

Recently a number of articles have appeared in various venues that describe the dangers of having a large number of Muslims in our midst. There is “sudden jihad syndrome” where an apparently peaceful Muslim suddenly turns violent and kills people or tries to. There was the Muslim in Washington state last year who was angry at Israel so he visited a Jewish community center in Seattle and opened fire on visitors, killing one woman. There was the clean cut college student in North Carolina who suddenly decided to kill infidels. He rented a car and drove to his university campus where he tried to run down fellow students.

There are many more recent examples. When I have time I will research them and post them on this site, with references.

Meanwhile, the college punks of UCLA need to contemplate this simple truth: when a Muslim sets off a bomb on a bus or train, or opens fire on a crowd or runs down pedestrians in his car (as recently happened here in the San Francisco Bay Area), you are not exempt. Being arrogant and ignorant may protect you from fear but it will not protect you from death by jihad.

John McCain and The Ugly American

John McCain, alleged Republican, has told the UK Telegraph that if he is elected President, he will fix the world's image of "the Ugly American."

This was a shock to me...I didn't know we were ugly. No wonder I couldn't get a date in high school. I always thought it was because women feared my powerful intellect.

Oh well, it's nice to know that John McCain has such a positive image of the people he seeks to lead. He certainly has appealed to my sense of vanity, has he yours?

I think the easiest way, however, to remove the image of the "Ugly American" is with a paper bag, one big enough to fit over John McCain's head. That's all I'm willing to give him, because it will be a cold day in Hell before I vote for this media whore. But that's just me.

Equal Rights for Men in Tights

There's a lot of news on the blogs today about the big peacenik demonstration yesterday in Washington, D.C. Thousands of barking moonbats swarmed all over the capitol, stinking up the place with their B.O. and their B.S., with flags and signs and banners demanding the immediate destruction of America, the elevation of communism and Islamism, etc etc blah blah blah. Their message can be summed up very simply: Death to America. Sub-themes include: Equal Rights for Men in Tights. Free Drugs for Everyone. Outlaw Soap. Hell No, We Won't Work. The World Owes Me A Living, Pay Up.

About 30,000 counter demonstrators showed up to oppose the moonbats, and more importantly, to protect the war memorials of Washington, DC from defacement. Vets and patriotic bikers (Rolling Thunder and others) stood in front of the Vietnam Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial and others and scrutinized visitors. Gates of Vienna and Hot Air have a lot of pictures of both the moonbats and the Gathering of Eagles, the name given to the patriotic vets and others who came to protect the memorials.

Enough of this. The wife and I are headed down the highway towards Monterey. We know a great little seafood place on the coast where we like to go occasionally. So I'm outta here. Have a great Sunday.

Cleaning House

I was having a problem with another conservative blogger and earlier wrote a post about it. I have deleted the post as well as associated links. I am tired of supporting people who don't support me.

And that's all I've got to say about that.

The Real Intent of the "Flying Imams"

The six "Flying Imams" who were escorted off a commercial airline months ago after highly suspicious behavior have sued the airline, U.S. Airways. When the Imams pulled their stunt, we all knew the purpose: to set up a lawsuit for "discrimination" and in the process suppress any reports of suspicious behavior that might impede an actual terrorist from his mission.

The Imams further displayed their intent in recent court papers showing that they are seeking the names of the passengers aboard the flight from which they were ejected. They intend to sue the individual passengers for discrimination as well. Lawsuits can be ruinously expensive to the average citizen and so they have a pronounced dampening effect on those who speak out.

Muslims in the West have organized to derail the West's protections against Jihad and Islamic crime through "litigation jihad," as some have called it.

No matter how you cut it, having Muslims in our midst is a bad thing. They are hostile to our culture and our laws and are unassimilable. Sooner or later we, and Europe, are going to have to face up to hard choices and unpleasant realities. Update: for the green-haired, facial studs encrusted moonbats, that means severely limiting or eliminating further Islamic immigration into the West, deportation of Muslim non-citizens from terrorist supporting countries, and encouragement of others to leave voluntarily. And it would be helpful if each Muslim, upon leaving, were to carry a history student from UCLA under each arm when he boards his flight.

Shmucky Chuck and the Firing of Eight Federal Prosecutors

The Machiavellian Democrats have invented a new controversy where none exists. The Bush Administration has fired eight federal prosecutors, as it has the right to do by law for whatever reason it wants. The Administration does not have to get permission from Shmucky Chucky Schumer or anyone else. Yes, it's true that Clinton fired all 93 federal prosecutors when he first took office, obviously for POLITICAL reasons.

The Dims are really good at using their supportive and friendly mainstream media at creating false controversies and acting outraged as if some great crime had been committed. Typically, they then rail against some Administration official and demand his resignation. This is all by design and they have done it many times before, most recently seeking Rumsfeld's scalp in their war of Treason against the U.S. It all adds to the false aura they seek to create, of malfeasance in office by Republicans, just for doing their jobs.

Bush should clean house. He should fire most of the Dim-friendly State Department and clean out the CIA, also pro Democrat and anti-American, as Valerie Plame proved. She actually WAS a covert agent - not of the CIA, but of the Democrat Party and her covert mission was to undermine her own President.

Bush's attitude towards the phony "acting out" skit the Dims are now engaged in should be: "It's none of your damned business. Fuck off."

Unfortunately, Republicans are naive and tend to always fall into the trap the Dims set for them. This time won't be any different.

Giant Cockroach Stalking Bush In Latin America

Latin America is known for its hot and humid climate, and insects love it. It's not surprising then, that a huge cockroach was seen stalking President Bush as he toured Latin America this week. Bush is there, apparently, to pledge aid so Latin American countries can hire a pest control company.

The Giant Cockroach, otherwise known as "La Cucaracha" was heard to say that "Socialism is the road to Heaven." A reporter asked La Cucaracha, or Cuke for short, "How can you say that Socialism is the road to heaven when millions of people have starved under Socialism?" To which Cuke retorted, "Si, and where are those dead people now? In HEAVEN!"

Patrick Fitzgerald's Fraudulent Partisan Persecution of Libby

Prosecutors and District Attorneys have immense power to destroy innocent lives. They are immune from litigation or prosecution for the unethical misuses of their office. It is for that reason that they bear tremendous responsibility to support the law in an objective and even handed manner. But there are some who abuse their positions.

Years ago, in the wake of the assassination of President Kennedy, a mentally deranged District Attorney named Jim Garrison cooked up a sham case against an innocent man, Clay Shaw. Garrison ruined Clay's life, claiming that Clay was a part of the big right-wing conspiracy that murdered the President. The jury in that trial quickly delivered a verdict of not guilty because the case had no merit. Clay died of cancer soon afterwards, penniless from the expenses of his unjust trial.

More recently, a Democrat activist District Attorney Ronnie Earle shopped several grand juries until he found the right bunch who would indict Republican Congressman Tom Delay on the preposterous charge of illegal campaign contributions. Earle had previously prosecuted another Texas Republican on criminal charges associated with her successful campaign against Democrats, and the case was thrown out on the day of trial. Earle has appeared at Democrat rallies and had publicly bragged that he was going to "get Delay." Earle is as unethical and unprincipled as Jim Garrison was in the misuse of his office to achieve purely personal goals. The Texas Bar should have removed his law license long ago.

A few years ago, I had a Chinese friend, Julian, who was the manager of a homeowners association in the Bay Area. One of the young men who worked for him in a maintenance capacity got into a dispute over drugs with another young man and shot him. The victim survived, but a rogue District Attorney from San Jose, California tried to pin it on my friend, Julian. The DA created a case out of thin air, claiming Julian was a member of the Chinese mafia and ordered the hit because the victim had tried to steal his wallet. Even the victim said the story was "bull shit." Julian was completely innocent and there was no evidence that the DA's fantasy had any merit whatsoever. Again, the jury quickly returned a verdict of "not guilty." Julian escaped a great injustice, but he had to spend his life savings for a defense lawyer, to the tune of $60,000, and undergo a very stressful and traumatic trial, literally for his life.

Why do unethical District Attorneys misuse the law and attempt to convict defendants they know darned well are innocent? The answer is simple: politics. DA's are elected based on their conviction rate, and if that takes cooking a few cases and convicting a few innocent people, well hell, what's more important, their lives or the District Attorney's career?

In Jim Garrison's case, however, insanity was the cause. Garrison was nuts. He had been discharged from the army years before after a psychiatric examination showed he was seriously reality-challenged.

Now we have Patrick Fitzgerald, the partisan Democrat in the Scooter Libby case, who got a good man convicted on three felony counts and who faces a fine of $100,000 and 25 years in jail, and who committed no crime. This Democrat Kangaroo Court had a Democrat judge who ruled that the jury could not be told that no crime had been committed, that Valerie Plame was not a covert CIA agent and not protected by the disclosure law. They also were not informed that Valerie Plame's identity had been disclosed by Richard Armitage, an employee of the State Department, who admitted it. Patrick Fitzgerald knew all of these facts from the outset of the trial. So why did he conduct an investigation of Bush Administration officials? Simply because he wanted to seek out mistakes of memory and call them "perjury" so he could create a case out of thin air where no crime existed. As Tom Delay's website describes it:
In the celebrated case of Mr. Lewis Libby, the prosecution pulled out one of its oldest and most shop-worn tricks. That is: setting up multiple perjury and obstruction of justice traps into which government officials, placed under extraordinary investigatory pressure, might fall.
In other words, Fitzgerald manufactured a crime by his own behavior by which he could "convict" an administration official.

Mark Steyn gives a lot of the facts in his recent column in the Chicago Sun-Times. He says what I have said in these pages - that Pat Fitzgerald, the darling of the Left, sought to bolster his career over the broken life of a decent, innocent man. Fitzgerald is the author of a fraud and an injustice.

Our system of justice is easily corrupted and amenable to the machinations of evil men in the guise of prosecutors. It is by no means perfect. Sometimes it produces results that are clearly unjust and unfair - look at the two border patrol agents who were recently sentenced to long prison terms for merely doing their jobs. Fitzgerald is one of these dishonorable prosecutors - abusing the system for their own selfish ends. But even he will face the final Judge, from whom there is no appeal. May he rot in Hell.

UK Channel 4 Detroys Global Warming Myths

Little Green Footballs has posted a Google video of the UK Channel 4 documentary, "The Global Warming Swindle." It's an hour and 16 minutes long, but worth every minute. This documentary thoroughly debunks the man-made global warming theory and explains the political and economic forces behind it. It also shows why the Global Warming movement is highly destructive to the developing world (like Africa), sentencing millions to miserable poverty and shorter lives.

Global Warming (GW) has become a quasi-religion of the Left, and they are impatient and intolerant of differing views (gee, who would've thought that?). GW is the new Luddite philosophy, the great Leftist belief in the idylic life of peasants living next to nature. They hate modernity and development and capitalism, especially the great bastion of these things, the United States.

The GW movement claims that CO2 is the green house gas most responsible for man-made climate change. They believe that CO2 levels are rising due to man-made industrialization and the use of fossile fuels, causing rapid warming of the earth. For this reason the movement seeks to impose on Africa and other developing regions limits on electricity and power produced by conventional means. Africa, which is rich in both coal and oil, cannot use these resources. Its poor peasants are only to be allowed solar and wind energy to produce their power, which costs three times as much as conventional means and is far less reliable and productive. For that reason, African moms will continue to burn firewood and dried animal dung on the floor of their huts to cook meals. With no electricity, they have few alternatives.

The man-made global warming theory featured in Al Gore's film, "An Inconvenient Truth" is that that this increase in Carbon Dioxide is causing earth's temperature to rise and it will eventually lead to environmental disasters like the melting of the polar ice caps, rapid rises in sea levels, tidal waves and flooding of civilization. Starvation and disease will quickly follow. Gore's film showed a scary graph of global warming and cooling cycles over several millenia, with another graph of CO2 levels just beneath it. The peaks and valleys of the two graphs closely resemble one another, showing that there is indeed a connection between global warming and CO2 in the atmosphere. However, Mr. Gore has put two and two together and gotten five.

The belief that CO2 produces global warming is the reverse of the truth: global warming produces carbon dioxide, not the other way around. Gases more readily dissolve in cold liquids than in warm ones. As the atmosphere warms, carbon dioxide dissolved in the sea escapes into the atmosphere. The sea contains the greatest concentration of carbon dioxide and is the greatest source of it (about 70% of all CO2 on earth is in the sea). Samples of ice cores from the antarctic show that carbon dioxide levels follow global warming by a period of about 800 years. So Al Bore's graphs do not prove what he thinks they do.

Even if CO2 did cause warming (which it does not), man's production of CO2 is miniscule compared to that produced by volcanos, animals and the sea itself. Further, in the period between 1940 and 1980, there was a great period of industrialization that, by global warming theory, should have produced warming. But that 40 year period was one of cooling, not warming. Because of this, some scientists in the 1970's feared that a new ice age was coming.

The scientists interviewed by Channel 4 state that earth's climate change is most heavily impacted by two factors: solar activity and cloud formation. Solar activity is what warms the earth and cloud formations help to keep it cool. The clouds bounce the solar rays back into space. Cloud formation depends on cosmic rays from outer space, which have an effect on water vapor in the atmosphere. However, in periods of high solar activity (sun spots and other phenomena), the solar wind blocks the cosmic rays from entering earth's atmosphere. Fewer clouds are formed as a result and the temperature rises. Human beings have no impact on these natural forces.

Historically, climate warming trends occur every 1,500 years, and they have never proved to be catastrophic. Indeed, a warmer earth has allowed more land in northern regions to be cultivated and farmed, as Greenland was during the last warming cycle. Hundreds of years ago, cold and foggy England was warm enough to produce vineyards and a flourishing wine industry. Indeed, the polar ice caps did not melt and the sea levels did not rise precipitously. How these past periods of warming were bad for the earth or for humanity is not obvious.

The forces pushing the man-made global warming hoax are both political and economic. With so many people fooled by its flawed science, politicians have to at least give lip service to it to avoid alienating constituencies. With 4 billion dollars in US grant money given each year for global warming research, GW theorists have a vested interest in keeping the theory alive.

But it's a crock, and a damaging and dangerous crock at that. If the theory is allowed to proliferate, the losers will be the human race. The good news is that more and more scientists are stepping forward to rebut the theory and provide information on its false assumptions and premises. Ann Coulter once said that the Left has been wrong about everything for the past fifty years. It seems they are wrong about global warming as well.

Squawking Democrat Chickens Flee the Fox

The Democrats had planned a televised debate in Nevada with Fox News as a sponsor, but canceled the event that was set for August. The reason: without a Democrat house organ like CBS, NBC, ABC or CNN, someone might ask them some hard questions. Democrats don't do well without their fully supportive propaganda outlets. Someone might notice that they have nothing to offer but their own personal ambition. The Democrats hate Fox News, not because it is biased, but because it is not. Unless the game is loaded in their favor, the Democrats have no chance.

There isn't a Democrat in the race that has an ounce of substance. Shrillary Clinton fakes a Southern accent in a black church. Although comical, it was an improvement over her usual yelling to the crowd in an unconvincing charade of the righteously outraged liberal, battling the unfairness of it all to the little people, i.e., those who look to the government for free handouts.

Barack Hussein Obama's only claim to fame is that he's black, or 50% anyway. John Edwards is as full of hot air as his blow-dried Breck girl hair. John Kerry, that human toothache, isn't running this time (thank God, the nausea factor would be too much). Al Bore is expected to step in at the last minute as the unifying candidate whose major issue, appropriately enough, is hot air (global warming). The Democrats are a bunch of nothing: no issues, no ideas, no substance, no clue. Rudy Giuliani will be the GOP candidate and ride roughshod over the whole miserable lot.

I have been working a lot over the last two weeks, but my project ends this weekend and I move to a new one on Monday. So my output may continue to be sparse for a while longer.

The good news is that, thanks to the Dimwitocrats, I get to lose an hour of sleep a month early, thanks to their tinkering with Daylight Savings Time. They'll do anything to save energy but nothing to produce more of it.

Ann Coulter on Scooter Libby and Democrat Malfeasance

Ann Coulter may sometimes shoot herself in the foot, but when she sticks to facts she is unbeatable. She weighs in today on the Scooter Libby verdict and the Democrats misuse of the judicial system to persecute Republicans. She writes:
Lewis Libby has now been found guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice for lies that had absolutely no legal consequence.

It was not a crime to reveal Valerie Plame's name because she was not a covert agent. If it had been a crime, Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald could have wrapped up his investigation with an indictment of the State Department's Richard Armitage on the first day of his investigation since it was Armitage who revealed her name and Fitzgerald knew it.

With no crime to investigate, Fitzgerald pursued a pointless investigation into nothing, getting a lot of White House officials to make statements under oath and hoping some of their recollections would end up conflicting with other witness recollections, so he could charge some Republican with "perjury" and enjoy the fawning media attention.

As a result, Libby is now a convicted felon for having a faulty memory of the person who first told him that Joe Wilson (news, bio, voting record) was a delusional boob who lied about his wife sending him to Niger.

This makes it official: It's illegal to be Republican.

The Criminalization of Politics: The Scooter Libby Verdict

In the latest disgrace to justice, Scooter Libby was found guilty of obstruction of justice in an investigation that should never have happened. The Machiavellian Democrats are experts at using the legal system to punish political opponents, and this is just another case.

Valerie Plame, a Democrat CIA agent, conspired with her leftist husband Joe Wilson to create a false story to undermine Bush just before the 2004 elections. She sent her unemployed hubby on the Government's dime to Niger to investigate the claim that Saddam sought yellow cake for his planned nuclear program. Joe Wilson went to Niger, confirmed that the story was indeed true, then later lied about it to the press, saying that Saddam had not sought yellow cake in Niger, and lo, the whole story was just a Bush lie to get the nation into an unjustified war.

One has to wonder how the Central Intelligence Agency can act as a hostile force to its own government and become a propaganda arm of the Democrat Party.

When someone leaked the story of the Plame-Wilson bogus Niger investigation, the CIA retaliated by referring the leak to the Justice Department. They claimed that a CIA undercover operative had been outed for partisan political reasons. Actually, the opposite was true: the CIA, and Valerie Plame in particular, had created a bogus investigation and then a bogus charge to Justice for partisan political reasons, showing again how Democrats love their party far more than they love their country.

But Valerie Plame was not an undercover CIA operative: she had been a desk jockey for five years and her privacy in the matter no longer protected by law. Whoever outed her did not commit a crime. Since no crime was committed there should never have been an investigation to begin with. Contrast this travesty with Sandy Berger, the Democrat who stole documents from the National Archives and destroyed them to protect the reputation of his former boss, Bill Clinton. Berger received a fine and temporary suspension of his security clearance, a light punishment for a crime far more serious than the non-crime for which Libby was investigated.

National Review today states flatly that the whole investigation was bogus and that Libby should be pardoned post haste. They said:
There should have been no referral, no special counsel, no indictments, and no trial. The “CIA-leak case” has been a travesty. A good man has paid a very heavy price for the Left's fevers, the media's scandal-mongering, and President Bush's failure to unify his own administration. Justice demands that Bush issue a pardon and lower the curtain on an embarrassing drama that shouldn’t have lasted beyond its opening act.
Read the whole thing here.

The Democrats should think about this. If they are to abuse the judicial system for partisan political reasons, perhaps we Republicans should use it to prosecute real traitors, like the editors of the New York Times, like John Kerry and Hanoi Jane Fonda, for their acts of treason. Let's try them, convict them and retire them to the Gray Bar Hotel. If I remember correctly, there is no statute of limitations on treason. We can always revisit these options when the time is right.

But that wouldn't be partisn politics. That would just be simple justice.

Ann Coulter, What Were You Thinking???

I have long been a fan of Ann Coulter. I read her books. I admire her courage and her debating skills. However, she sometimes pushes controversy to the limit. Last Friday she stepped over the limit at the CPAC (Conservative Political Action Committee) meeting in Washington, DC. In a speech to the attendees, she quipped that Democrat Presidential candidate John Edwards is a "faggot."

Saying unpopular things that are true is bravery, using slurs that aren't true is just plain stupid. For the first time in my life, I am ashamed of Ann Coulter. She showed a remarkable lack of taste and judgment in using this slur. She greatly undermined her own credibility and will have it thrown in her face for years to come, and deservedly so.

John Edwards is not gay to my knowledge. True, he is a lightweight, an airhead, a pretty boy, a man without any principles other than becoming president, an empty suit. I wouldn't vote for Edwards if he was running for dog catcher. But he's not gay, and even if he were, I would never call him "faggot," which is a bigoted slur that will only inflame passions for no good reason.

You blew it Ann. What in God's name were you thinking?
