SF Giants Win 4th Game of World Series 4 - 0, Lead 3 Games to 1

Tonight the Giants went up 3 games to 1 in the World Series against the Texas Rangers.  They had three home runs, one of which had a man on base, giving the Giants the 4 runs.  Texas is not often shut out in their own stadium, but they were tonight.

Former President George W. Bush threw out the first pitch with his father by his side, the former President George H.W. Bush.

It's beginning to look like a Giants series.  It's hard to come back and win the World Series when a team is down 3 games to 1, but it has been done...six times, as a matter of fact.  The last team to do it was the Kansas City Royals in 1985 against St. Louis.  I have posted a list of the teams that came back from the dead below.

Needless to say, I won't be cheering a San Francisco championship until the last out of the last game.  Nevertheless....GO GIANTS!!
Teams That Won the World Series After Being Down 3 games to 1 in the World Series:

1. 1903 Boston Americans (Red Sox), down 1-3, won World Series 5-3 over Pittsburgh (best of nine format).

2. 1925 Pittsburgh Pirates, down 1-3, won World Series 4-3 over Washington.

3. 1958 New York Yankees, down 1-3, won World Series 4-3 over Milwaukee.

4. 1968 Detroit Tigers, down 1-3, won World Series 4-3 over St. Louis.

5. 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates, down 1-3, won World Series 4-3 over Baltimore.

6. 1985 Kansas City Royals, down 1-3, won World Series 4-3 over St. Louis.

Our Islamic Future: a Preventable Evil

This is a reprint of a very important article posted at Infidel Bloggers Alliance.

Below is the speech given at yesterday’s (30th Oct 2010) demonstration at Generatorstraat in Amsterdam by the British author and former Parliamentary candidate Paul Weston.

My name is Paul Weston, and I represent the International Free Press Society.

And I am standing here today because our liberal elites have betrayed our countries to Islam.

Forty-two years ago the British politician Enoch Powell made his famous “Rivers of Blood” speech, in which he stated that “The supreme function of statesmanship is to provide against preventable evils.”

Our politicians today do the exact opposite. They actively promote a preventable evil.

But eighty years ago one man, Winston Churchill, was very clear about preventing a clear and present evil, Herr Hitler and the Nazis. But Churchill was a lone voice crying in the wind of appeasement, and the carnage that could have been avoided came with a vengeance.

And today Europe finds itself in much the same position. Even as Islam grows demographically, territorially, and militantly, it is promoted as the “religion of peace” by the same type of cowardly, careerist politicians who once appeased Hitler. Islam was not the religion of peace to Winston Churchill. He described it as the religion of blood and war.

Anyone with a knowledge of the foundations and history of Islamic expansion knows this to be the truth.

Mohammed was a warlord. And a very good warlord indeed. By the time of his death he had militarily defeated and converted most of the pagan and Christian tribes of the Arabian Peninsula.

After his death Islam rapidly expanded at the point of a sword, defeating ancient civilisations and overrunning continents as it did so.

And today it is within Europe, it is within the West, and it is calling for what it has always called for: total Islamic domination. And if we wish to resist, then they will use terror against us.

Yet still our treasonous politicians call it the “religion of peace”, and tell us that if we refuse to share such a fantastical and ridiculous notion, that if we choose to believe Winston Churchill’s argument that Islam is a religion of blood and war, then we will be sent to prison.

Of course it is not a religion of peace. Its founder was a warrior, and the highest honour bestowed upon a Muslim is the promise of hordes of scented houris and an eternal leg-over in the after life, achievable not by being a good Samaritan, but by dying as a martyr in the physical battle to expand imperialist Islam.

Islam literally means submission. What kind of a religion can possibly call itself submission?

Islam divides the world into two spheres. The House of Islam (submission) and the House of War. What kind of religion defines itself by military conquest?

Yet our leaders tell us we cannot criticise Islam because it is a religion, whilst the organisation of the Islamic conference, in cahoots with the united nations is striving to make any criticism of Islam illegal.

But Islam is so much more than just a religion. It is a political, social, legal and structural blueprint which totally dominates a devout Muslim’s life, and wishes coincidentally to dominate all devout non-Muslims’ lives as well.

It is profoundly illiberal and it is profoundly undemocratic. It does not believe in the man-made laws of democracy, preferring instead to adhere to the absolute word of Allah, as interpreted by an illiterate 7th-century desert dweller.

And our politicians have imported this illiberal and undemocratic ideology into the liberal democracies than make up the West, and then they dare to criminalise us when we object to this!

But how can we not criticise Islam? Can our politicians really protect it as a religion and therefore place it out of legal reach?

When homosexuals are hung from cranes, is this political Islam in action or religious Islam?

When adulterous women are buried up to their shoulders in sand and stoned to death, is this political Islam or religious Islam?

When Muslims who wish to leave Islam are issued with death sentences, is this political Islam, or is this religious Islam?

When wives and daughters are slaughtered to protect their families’ honour by husbands fathers and uncles, is this political Islam or religious Islam?

If it is political, then it must be denounced as evil and barbaric. If it religious, how can it possibly not be denounced as the same? What is evil is evil and what is barbaric is barbaric and cannot be exempted from criticism because it is sheltered by the word “religion”.

In criminalising free speech, our socialist leaders reveal their dictatorial ambition. The mark of a free society is freedom of speech. To take this away is a totalitarian act, made all the worse because freedom of speech is our only defence in the peaceful opposition against the foreign totalitarian ideology of Islam.

And I hope this irony is not lost on you. In order to protect and advance a foreign totalitarian ideology, our own rulers are prepared to adopt native totalitarian means to stop us defending our democracy and our freedom.

The West lives in accordance with the European Convention on Human Rights. Islam does not. They signed up instead to the Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam.

But they have a very important caveat: when sharia law collides with human rights law, guess which law prevails?

Quite so. Sharia is the top trumps when it comes to human rights.

This is like a signatory to the Geneva convention murdering and torturing prisoners of war, and being given a pass at a war trial because it was “part of their religion.”

And when our politicians today excuse Islam as a religion of peace and allow them to set the rules both at home, at the European Union, and at the United Nations, then our politicians are betraying their countries and they are betraying their people. They are committing treason.

“Can one commit treason in a time of peace?” people may ask. But are we really at peace?

We may not consider ourselves at war with Islam, but Islam considers itself at war with us.

And it is a war we are losing. Territorially, demographically, politically, and democratically.

In fact, it is a war of aggression on two fronts. Radical Islam on the one, and left-wing treason on the other.

Our children are told to celebrate multiculturalism and Islam, without being told the real history of violent expansionist Islam.

Instead, they are told that their own history, their religion, their culture, their traditions, their very being, is just a litany of imperialism, racism, murder and slavery. This is a proven psychological technique designed to render an enemy helpless, or to quote Alexander Solzhenitsyn, “in order to destroy a people, you must first sever their roots.”

Any government that does this to its own people, to its own children, is a government that deserves, manifestly deserves, to be overthrown.

Can anyone really argue that a government that praises the foreign invader whilst psychologically and legally stripping away the defences of its people is a government that is not guilty of treason?

Now here we come to a more uplifting part of this depressing monologue, because in this part of the battle we are advancing. Slowly, admittedly, but relentlessly, and I think we are now unstoppable.

Geert Wilders here in the Netherlands, René Stadtkewitz in Germany, whose immediate popularity caused Angela Merkel to make an abrupt U-turn and denounce Multiculturalism.

The Sweden Democrats, Heinz-Christian Strache in Austria, the Swiss People’s Party, and in England we await a political movement to pick up the baton from the rapidly growing English Defence League.

And that growth can only accelerate. As more and more people become aware of Islam and become aware of the depth of treason perpetrated by their liberal rulers, and most importantly, as people lose their fear of being labelled a racist — which was a label specifically designed to strip us of resistance against a racially designated invader who uses race as a weapon.

In fact, let us deal with this “racist” label right now. It is not racist to defend your country against an obvious and growing threat. It is not racist to defend your culture, your heritage, and your traditions. It is not racist to work to ensure a democratic future for your children and grandchildren.

If you choose not to defend your country, your culture and the democratic future of your children, then you may well pat yourselves on the back in your non-racist champagne socialist cocktail bars in Islington; you may well love other people’s anti-racist credentials almost as much as you love your own; but there is no getting away from the label I have for you.

You are a traitor and a betrayer of your country, a betrayer of your culture, and a betrayer of our yet unborn children.

And you are a racist, indeed a genocidal racist. Young native Europeans will become a demographic ethnic minority within their own homelands if immigration rates and birth rates stay the way they are for just one more generation.

This can politely be called population replacement. More crudely, it is bloodless genocide.

The United Nations is very clear on this. Their definition of genocide is as follows:

Article 2.

In the present convention genocide means any of the acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, racial or religious group.

We have been betrayed.

And one of the saddest aspects of this betrayal is the effect it has had on those old ex-warriors who fought for their countries in recent living memory.

Ex-Spitfire pilot Alex Henshaw died three years ago. He was acutely aware of the political betrayal of his country. He said:

“I feel extreme emotional sadness for the young men I knew that gave their lives willingly for a cause in which we all believed. And I often say to myself that if those young boys would come down now and walk through the villages, through the towns and through the cities and look around and see what is happening to us, they would say somewhere along the line we have been betrayed.”

Yes, Mr. Henshaw, I am afraid you have, and all of you socialist/liberal/left-wing people need to know what you have done.

You need to take a walk around your cities, towns and villages, take a look at the hundreds of thousand of graves standing as testament to the ultimate sacrifice made by our young men in order that you may live in a liberal democracy today.

You need to understand that this a not just betrayal, but a triple betrayal:

*The betrayal of all our old soldiers whose sacrifice granted us freedom,

* The betrayal of my generation who you threaten to imprison if we defend our inherited freedom, and

* The betrayal of our yet unborn, who, unless we stop it seem set to inherit a country racked with tribal and religious hatred, which must inevitably lead to a continental scale multicultural war that will make the break-up of Yugoslavia look like a bun-fight.

And, of course, it is also the betrayal of freedom and democracy.

Because freedom and democracy did not just magically appear. They evolved over two and a half thousand years, rooted in Greco-Roman Judeo-Christian ancestry. And were fought for and defended with much blood and sacrifice.

Democracy and freedom are not the personal possessions of socialist politicians to be handed away, without our agreement, to the descendants of a 7th century desert warlord, who view our attachment to democracy as just a weakness to be used against us.

I do not blame Islam. Fundamentalist Muslims are just doing what it says in the book.

But I do blame our politicians. There are two sides in this civilisational stand-off, and our politicians have sided with the enemy.

So I say to them:
You may well hold the levers of power at the moment, but we are on the rise and we are unstoppable. Do you seriously think you can do what you have done to your own people without repercussion?

You could stop this now if you chose to, by the simple expedient of putting the interests of your own people before the interests of Islam.

But you won’t do that will you? So you put us in an almost impossible position. If we do nothing we must accept our children and grandchildren will one day live under sharia law.

And if we do something, then it must by definition be revolutionary. But we did not start this. You did. Most of us would have been quite happy to mow the lawn, hold down a mundane job, and pay our taxes.

You have made us revolutionaries. And whilst your behaviour suggests you fear Islam more than you fear us, let me tell you something, you lying, betraying, treacherous, socialist careerists:

We might not hold power today, but given another decade, we will, and then we will hold you to account. You will appear before a Nuremberg-style court, and you will be tried for treason, and you will be tried for crimes against humanity, and for the first time in a very long time you will be answerable to us!

Texas Rangers Win Their First World Series Game Ever, 4 - 2

As I expected, the Rangers won the third game of the World Series over the Giants, 4 - 2.  This was the first World Series game ever in Arlington Park, and was the first World Series win ever for the Texas Rangers.  The Giants lead the series 2 games to 1 and play resumes tomorrow at 5:20 PST.

Congratulations to the Rangers -- a great team from a great state!

Bill Maher Voices Concerns Over Western Islamization

Bill Maher, a dedicated leftist who hosts the show Real Time on HBO, has expressed concern over the Islamization of the West.  Mediate reports:
Maher made a Juan Williams-esque confession on his program when he apprehensively noted that Mohammed has just become the most popular baby name in Britain. “Am I a racist to feel alarmed by that?” Maher asked his panel. “Because I am. And it’s not because of the race, it’s because of the religion. I don’t have to apologize, do I, for not wanting the Western world to be taken over by Islam in 300 years?”
One panel member informed Maher that if he worked for NPR, he'd be fired for saying that.
Hoover further stoked Maher by claiming that the U.K is saddled with a “far bigger problem” than baby names: Sharia Law, which she said is creeping into England.

“Then I’m right,” Maher said, taking her for her word. “I should be alarmed. And I don’t apologize for it.”
Lawrence Auster at View From the Right says that Maher's statements may indicate a signficant awakening to the Islamic threat.  He writes:
My guess is that Maher himself doesn't mean anything serious by this, because he's too much of a liberal hater of our society to want to defend it from any enemy. But, just as with the recent stunning statements about Islam by Chancelor Merkel, who also didn't mean anything, the fact that he uttered such thoughts indicates a growing, or at least dawning, awareness in the West of the Islam threat, and this is significant.

Ai Chee Wa Wa, SF Giants Win 2nd World Series Game, 9 - 0!

I had to go to a tax class tonight so couldn't watch the second game of the World Series.  I kept sneaking peeks at my iPhone Sportacular ap to keep up with the scores.  Finally, after several scoreless innings, the Giants led by 1 - 0, then 2 - 0 going into the 8th inning.  The next time I looked at my iPhone the game was over and the score was 9 to Zip!  I couldn't believe my eyes.

Apparently, Texas's pitching really fell apart in the 8th inning.  The bases were loaded, mainly on walks, and two runners were walked home for scores.  Then a single scored another two.

The Giants scored seven runs in the 8th inning, their greatest number in Giants post-season history.  Their former record was six hits in one inning in the 1937 World Series against the Yankees, a record they tied only yesterday against the Rangers.

I am hoping for a Giants win, but I won't tie myself up in knots with anxiety.  We've been here before and watched the dream crumble at the last minute.

I imagine the atmosphere will be different back in Rangers stadium and the Texans will be charged up for a win.

SF Giants Win First Game of the World Series, 11 - 7

The first game of the World Series between the San Francisco Giants and the Texas Rangers was a high scoring affair, one of the most exciting games I've seen all year.  The Giants prevailed 11 - 7, but the Rangers showed themselves to be a tough team even in defeat.  This won't be a cake walk for either team.  Still, I am gratified that my team, the Giants, won the first game.

The Giants' "bull pen," their reserve of pitchers, wear beards, or at least, most of them do.  Hence the Giants' slogan, "Fear the Beard," with many fans wearing fake beards in the stands.  See video for more details.

How Liberals Argue (Video)

Hat tip Atlas Shrugs:

This cartoon video is actually a fairly accurate description of a conversation between a liberal and a conservative.  The liberal is reduced to slogans and personal insults, refusing to be deprogrammed from her thorough brain-washing by media and academia.

One More Week Before the Vote

It's hard to believe, but the last two years of waiting is almost at an end.  One week from today we go to the polls to express our electoral disgust at the way Obama and the Democrats have destroyed the economy.

The buzz is that California will be a hold out in this next Republican revolution -- they will proudly and stubbornly be wrong once again.  While Californians struggle with 22% unemployment, free soup kitchens and food banks, they will nevertheless vote for the party who made their poverty possible.  My disgust for the California electorate knows no bounds; they are firmly, solidly and reflexively leftist.

As soon as the mortgage company kicks us out of this house, I will have to move somewhere.  Maybe that somewhere should be somewhere else.  Texas, perhaps.  Suggestions are welcome.

Sixty Minutes Segment on Unemployment in Silicon Valley

Hat tip:  the Other McCain

Things are really rough in California.  Yes, let's vote for more Democrats!!!  Not.  At least I still have a roof over my head, for a few more months, anyway.  My last mortgage payment was in June. This is no is a depression, and we need to stop kidding ourselves.

Los Angeles Times Poll (Showing Brown Blow-Out) Oversampled Latinos

Ah, the games you can play with polls.  The leftist Los Angeles Times released a poll yesterday showing Jerry Brown with a double-digit lead over Meg Whitman in the race for governor of California.  Other polls, however, released at the same time, show the race much closer than that.  Oversampling of Democrats or Republicans can give a biased poll result, one that does not represent the actual state of the electorate.  The LA Times poll oversampled latinos and obtained the desired skewed result, no doubt to encourage a larger Democrat turnout on November 2nd.

Donald Douglas has the story here.

Note to CIA: Isn't It Time for You to Stop Julian Assange?

Julian Assange:  Needs a Visit From the CIA
Julian Assange is some Euro-Weenie running a website called Wikileaks.  Assange has been collecting US military secrets from various traitors who send them via an encrypted, anonymous ISP.  He then posts them on the internet for all the world to see.  This asshole is making war on the United States, attempting to harm our military, our soldiers in the field, our war efforts.  How many of our soldiers will die because of Julian Assange?

Assange would be a traitor if he were a U.S. citizen.  Since he isn't, he is merely a foreign enemy.  I have to wonder why the CIA has done nothing to stop this cretin.  Couldn't they extradite him from Sweden?  Sue him? Lobby Sweden to shut him down? Surely they could get his website shut down, at the very least.  They do nothing, however, and only publicly cringe at the revelations.  There was a time when Assange would now be wearing cement shoes at the bottom of some lake.  Ah, I do miss the good old days.  Call me a traditionalist!  I am so sentimental that way.

There is the possibility that it is the CIA itself who is providing a lot of the leaks; leaks of false information to confuse or mislead the enemy.  The other possibility is that they are ineffective wimps, mirroring the incompetence of their leader.

I can only speak for myself, but I would dearly love to see Mr. Assange retired from the leaks business soon.  Hey CIA, what do we pay you guys for anyway?  Do your damn job.

60 Minutes: Actual Unemployment Rate in California is 22%

Via Instapundit: The 60 Minutes TV show states categorically that unemployment in California is actually 22%, not 10%. This includes both the underemployed and those who have quit looking for work (and so are not counted in the "official" unemployment rolls).  The national unemployment rate is 17.5% under these same criteria.

60 Minutes also says that one-third of unemployed persons nationwide have been out of work for a year or more (and that includes me), something that hasn't happened since the Great Depression.

Aha! I'm not alone! Although it sure feels that way sometimes.

San Francisco Giants and My Father's Ghost

My family has lived in California since January of 1954, when we moved here from Joplin, Missouri.  I fell in love with the place right away, enchanted by the palm trees, the orange trees, the salty smell of the sea mixed with the fragrance of citrus.  Eventually, we settled in San Jose and went through all the phases of life, finishing school, launching careers, choosing mates and having children.  Along the way we naturally adopted loyalties to our local sports teams, and most of my family are strong fans of the San Francisco Giants baseball team.

My loyalty to the Giants was cemented in 1962, when they played the New York Yankees in the World Series. It was a very close series, with no team winning two games in a row.  The Yankees won the 7th game, 1-0, in the 9th inning and of course, it broke my heart.  I was sure the Giants would be back the following year to complete their march to glory.  However, they wouldn't be back in the World Series for 27 years, until 1989, when they were swept in four games by the Oakland A's.

My father, now deceased, was a Giants fan.  The last thing we ever did together was to watch a Giants game on television in June of 1991.  The Giants beat the St. Louis Cardinals 2 - 0.  My dad mentioned that the Giants were looking competent and scrappy as he headed for the door on that Sunday afternoon.  I never saw him conscious again.  I know how much a Giants win in the Word Series would have meant to him.

Finally, in 2002 the Giants returned to the World Series against the California Angels.  After five games the Giants led the series 3 games to 2, and their last victory was a 16-4 blowout over the Angels.  In Game 6, the Giants led 5 - 0 going into the 7th inning and things were looking rosy.  We were pretty confident that the Giants would win one of the two remaining games to take the series.  We were wrong.  In the 6th game, with three innings left to play, their 5 - 0 advantage became a 6 - 5 final score in favor of the Angels.  Their spirit broken, the Giants lost the 7th and deciding game 4 - 1.  We became only too acutely aware that, if it were at all possible, the Giants would find a way to lose.  At that point, I dismissed all hopes of a Giants World Series victory in my lifetime, and turned my attention to other things.  This month, however, I learned that the Giants had made the playoffs.  Though very cynical about their chances, I watched the games.  Incredibly, the Giants were up 3 games to 2 headed into game 6.  Would they blow it once again?

Last night I watched the Giants pitcher load the bases in the 9th inning.  I was sure the Phillies would score at least one run to tie the game and send it into overtime; but the pitcher came through, striking out the final batter and winning the game.

It's funny, but the Giants got their name from winning a close game over the Phillies, about 100 years ago (literally).  The manager of the Gothams (as the Giants were then called) stormed into the locker room and shouted, "My big fellows!  My giants!"  The name was subsequently changed to the Giants.

So the Giants will face the Texas Rangers in the World Series.  I would have preferred that they face the Yankees, as I like the Rangers and would root for them against any other opponent.  But this will have to do.  So for this moment, we Giants fans have hope.  Maybe, just maybe, the Giants will win their first World Series in California (the last time they won was as the New York Giants, in 1954).  On to the World Series!  Go Giants!

Sunday Hodgepodge: All the News That I Found Interesting This Week

There were a lot of weird and interesting events this past week. Here are some of them:

1. The Geert Wilders trial in the Netherlands took a strange twist when the prosecutors of Wilders advised the judges in the trial that Wilders was innocent and that the charges should be dropped. The judges did not drop the charges and were replaced with new judges. The Farce trial of Geert Wilders, who is charged with inciting hatred against Muslims (for telling the truth about them), goes on towards an uncertain resolution. Some observers are stating that they expect the charges to be dropped and Wilders to be freed.

2. A female version of Geert Wilders has emerged, one Elisabeth Sabaditsch-Wolff, a Vienna housewife, who must stand trial for "hate speech." The lady held seminars in Vienna to discuss the dangers of Islamization and the violent nature of Islam. VFR has the story here.

Europe has become a very disgusting place. Not only are they failing to address the Islamic threat, they openly support it with the most extreme form of political correctness. No one is allowed to tell the truth about Islam lest they be tried for "hate speech." If you take the most left wing college campus in America and expand it several hundred times, you have the new and modern Europe.

3. Juan Williams, a liberal black man, was fired from National Public Radio for telling the truth about his anxieties over Muslims on airplanes. Williams quoted the Times Square failed bomber at his sentencing, stating that "America's war with Islam was just beginning." Williams went on to say that because of this, the presence of Muslims in Islamic garb on commercial aircraft make him feel anxious. For that he was summarily fired from NPR, demonstrating once again the psychotic nature of liberalism.  NPR's stunt backfired on them badly, causing a tidal wave of public anger over the firing.  Most Americans have had their fill of speech codes and political correctness.

4. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany, informed German citizens that Germany was well on the way to becoming an Islamic state (thanks to massive, Muslim immigration). She also stated that in Germany, "multiculturalism has failed." Not only has it failed, she said, it has failed utterly. Merkel went on to say that it is folly to believe that disparate cultures living side by side without assimilating is somehow a good thing. She also stated that Germany is losing its Christian nature and more people are leaving Germany than are entering. Will we learn from Europe's countless mistakes on Islamic immigration, socialized medicine and other follies? Don't count on it.

4. GOP Avalanche predicted for November 2nd. Many are saying that the only thing in question for November 2nd is the size of the Republican tidal wave. Let's hope so, but get to the polls and vote. Take nothing for granted.  We have waited two long, painful years of Obama rule, and now is our chance to strike back!

Brown and Boxer's Campaign Ad Blitz

Jerry Brown demonstrates the
Tantric-Yoga position of the Kama
Sutra, so popular among
California voters.
In the last two weeks before the elections, Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer are hammering their Republican opponents with attack ads.  It seems to be working:  Boxer is up by 2 to 4 points over Carly Fiorina and Brown is up by 5 to 7 points over Meg Whitman.  Those who want continued economic stagnation for the Golden State will have their wish.  We will continue to have high taxes and anti-business politics in California, with the result that both employers and taxpayers will continue fleeing the state.

The only slim hope is that the Californians who support the old socialist retreads will stay home on November 2nd.

How could most Californians support politicians and policies that have turned the state into an economic basket case?  You have to understand the California mindset.  Being fashionable, trendy and au courant is far more important to Californians than whether they have jobs.   Voting is not only a democratic act, it is also a fashion statement.  Political ignorance is considered political brilliance.  And when most Californians shove their heads straight up their asses, this is considered a tantric yoga position and a key element of the kama sutra.

To the uninitiated, this difficult meditative position appears to be the machinations of the politically insane.  To enlightened, tantric-sensitive, kama sutra practitioners (also known as "Californians"), this key yoga position is a sign of great enlightenment.  Most Californians assume this position just before making important political decisions.  Millions are expected to assume the position just before entering the voting booths on November 2nd.  Then after they have voted Jerry Brown, Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi to new terms in office, the voters will assume a different tantric yoga position:  down on all fours.

Pamela Geller Gets Played: Salon's Strategy Works

This morning Pamela Geller is angrily denouncing Christine O'Donnell, Republican senatorial candidate for Delaware.  Geller endorsed O'Donnell early on, and O'Donnell posted Geller's endorsement on her website.  Then this week, a leftist online rag called Salon attacked O'Donnell for posting Geller's endorsement, repeating a lot of vicious lies and exaggerations about Pamela Geller.  Someone in O'Donnell's organization got spooked and removed Geller's endorsment from the O'Donnell website.  Geller saw the removal and went ballistic.  The Salon strategy worked:  Geller and O'Donnell were transformed from political allies into political enemies and a nasty public fight ensued.  Both Geller and O'Donnell will come away from this with mud on their faces.

Saul Alinsky stressed the use of ridicule and other strategies for causing political opponents to lose their tempers; once these opponents lost their tempers, they would self-destruct in a very public way, neutering themselves politically.  Geller has made herself a shining example of how effective this strategy can be.  With her ego gored, Geller was transformed into an attack dog for the left.

The only question in my mind is this:  how could Pamela Geller allow herself to be so easily played?  This stratagem will be celebrated in the annals of the left for years as an example of the effective use of slander and "playing one against the other."

The left has become quite effective at turning decent people into public pariahs through out and out lies and propaganda.  The reason, of course, is to silence these people, or erode their credibility with the public, or lacking that, to merely punish them by invoking as much psychic pain as possible.  Fueled by hatred and immorality, the purveyors of "tolerance" are truly hypocritical, anti-democratic and completely ruthless.  They will destroy the life of a political opponent if they can, or cause that opponent to suffer for his conscience for a very long time.  Examples are plentiful:  Robert Bork, Clarence Thomas, Joe McCarthy, Kathleen Harris, Linda Tripp, Carrie Prejean, Tom DeLay, Robert Stacy McCain, to  name only a few.  (See my former post "How the Left Punishes Conservatives.")  Now you can add Pamela Geller to the long and growing list of "the Slimed."

Pamela should have confined her concerns to private communications with the O'Donnell campaign.  Denouncing O'Donnell's "cowardice and lack of character" two weeks away from the election is truly destructive to the conservative cause.   Pamela, it isn't all about you.

I Ended My Relationship With Muslim CPA Today

I worked with a Muslim CPA for over a week to determine if our management styles and business philosophies were compatible.  They weren't, and we parted amicably.

I did the work for no pay, considering it to be research into the possibility of a business association.
Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Dad, Mom and Bro

This picture was taken in the late days of World War II.  It shows my father in his army uniform, my mom and my grouchy older brother "Bro."  Hard to believe he was once that cute!   I had not yet made my appearance into the world.

Jerry Brown, an Old Socialist Retread, is Bad for California

Jerry Brown:  Old Socialist Retread
Occasionally I hear friends or band mates mumbling about how they will move out of the state if Meg Whitman is elected governor. I have to wonder what on earth they are thinking.  Are they against jobs and prosperity?  What do they think creates prosperity?

In all probability, they won't have to move out of the state.  Brown will be elected in this uber-blue state.  It will be I who will have to leave the state, following the outward flood of businesses and citizens out of Moonbat Heaven.

Those outbound businesses are leaving for good reason.  California is hostile and punishing to business.  Business is what gives people jobs and creates products and services that make our lives easier, and creates tax revenues in the process.  That's something our bankrupt state needs to keep paying the bloated benefits of our militant unionized state workers.  Californians, however, have a long history of shooting themselves in the foot.  They will vote for the opposite of what California needs.  So what are the choices for governor in November?

On the one hand, we have Moonbat Brown, who has never created a job or met a payroll in his life, whose legislative career has been about suing businesses and increasing taxes, organizing farm workers and Vietnam war protests.   Brown is one of those insular leftists who hasn't a clue as to how the economy works. He doesn't understand economic theory, let alone its actual practice. He is a living, breathing symbol of everything that is wrong with the politically neurotic state of California:  all show, posing and posturing without substance.

Will Meg Whitman be better?  She has some hopeful signs.  She has not only met a payroll, she took EBay from a 30 employee company to one with 15,000 employees.  She has a real-world, working knowledge of building wealth and creating jobs.  Her knowledge of economics is based on actual practice as well as theory.

I suspect she has an insight or two about how to make California friendlier to business and staunch the outbound stampede of employers and jobs.  Jerry Brown doesn't have those insights.  He has only his far left inclinations, marinated into his bones by a lifelong immersion into radical politics and hippy culture, with its peace symbols and clouds of pot smoke.  He sees business as something that the public must be protected against, and he will protect us: from jobs, prosperity and solvency.

The question is, will Californians finally end their protracted adolescence and finally grow up?  Don't hold your breath.

Physics Professor at UC Santa Barbara calls Global Warming a "Pseudoscientific Fraud"

Harold Lewis is Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He recently submitted his resignation letter to Curtis G. Callan Jr, Princeton University, President of the American Physical Society.  Lewis cites fraud and corruption in the global warming scam as the reasons for his departure.  He writes:
How different it is now. The giants [of Physics] no longer walk the earth, and the money flood has become the raison d’être of much physics research, the vital sustenance of much more, and it provides the support for untold numbers of professional jobs. For reasons that will soon become clear my former pride at being an APS Fellow all these years has been turned into shame, and I am forced, with no pleasure at all, to offer you my resignation from the Society.

It is of course, the global warming scam, with the (literally) trillions of dollars driving it, that has corrupted so many scientists, and has carried APS before it like a rogue wave. It is the greatest and most successful pseudoscientific fraud I have seen in my long life as a physicist. Anyone who has the faintest doubt that this is so should force himself to read the ClimateGate documents, which lay it bare. (Montford’s book organizes the facts very well.) I don’t believe that any real physicist, nay scientist, can read that stuff without revulsion. I would almost make that revulsion a definition of the word scientist.
Professor Lewis's letter goes on in great detail, and later includes this statement:
In the interim the ClimateGate scandal broke into the news, and the machinations of the principal alarmists were revealed to the world. It was a fraud on a scale I have never seen, and I lack the words to describe its enormity. Effect on the APS position: none. None at all. This is not science; other forces are at work.
Lewis's public resignation is a potent torpedo into the global warming scam.  The pseudoscientific community will respond, of course, by slandering his reputation and ostracizing him.  They've got a lucrative thing going and, like the crooked cops in "Serpico," they simply won't tolerate any whistle-blowers.

Busy, Busy, Busy

Suddenly I'm busy:  band practice (we're trying out another female singer), studying for a quiz in my tax course, possibly doing some work for my new associate.  The busy-ness seems to have raised my spirits considerably and given me more energy.

So posting will be light for a bit.

God's Strange Sense of Humor: Sends Stogie to Work With Muslim Accountants

On Wednesday I responded to a Craig's list ad for a senior CPA for audit and tax, so responded to it.  The poster of the ad called me, gushing over my extensive resume, and asked me to come in and talk to him.  I did.  I knew from his name and accent he was Indian, but did not know that he was a Muslim until I sat down in front of his desk.  He had a beard, and there was a Muslim newsletter laying on his desk.  It was then that I silently spoke to God:  "You really have a strange sense of humor!"

He was a young guy who is facing his third tax season and needs some help.  I found him personally likeable, so said I'd come back the next day and do some work for him and see how it goes.

Today he introduced me to some of his associates, all Muslims.  One was a client; the other was a marketing consultant, complete with white knitted cap, and the other was an employee, a young man who has passed the CPA exam but has no experience.  I found all of them to be very likeable, cheerful and possessing a healthy sense of humor.  They seemed totally accepting of me and I returned their friendliness.

My new associate took me to lunch at an Indian restaurant.  When we returned to the office, he did his afternoon prayers right there in the office, bowing towards Mecca in the middle of the floor.  I didn't mind.  I almost told him to pray for more business, but thought the better of it.

I don't know where this is going to lead, but I will stick with them for awhile, and sincerely try to help them.  I figure God has his reasons for this association and I want to see what they are.  I suspect the lesson to be learned is that, although Islam is a violent, oppressive and cruel ideology, many of its adherents are innocents, sincerely trying to do the right thing and live productive lives.  Many Muslims are decent people.  That said, I doubt that anything can favorably change my opinion of Islam or Muhammad.  However, I can better appreciate Pamela Geller's statement that one can love Muslims even while hating their ideology.

On a side note, my new associate told me he had received 200 resumes the first day he ran the ad.  A lot of people responding to the ad had excellent experience and credentials and some seemed desperate, willing to work for almost nothing.  Achmed, my new associate (not his real name) said that it would be good if we could put some of these unfortunates to work.  In any case, the response to the ad underscores just how bad the job situation is here in Silicon Valley.

Test Your Knowledge: Take the Civics Exam

Troglopundit points readers to an online civics exam that tests one's knowledge of American history, government and finance.  The Trog man scored 31 out of 33 for a score of 93.94%.  I scored exactly the same.  How well will you do?
“Are you more knowledgeable than the average citizen? The average score for all 2,508 Americans taking the following test was 49%; college educators scored 55%. Can you do better?”

Why, yes. Yes I can:

You answered 31 out of 33 correctly — 93.94 %

Watch Rush Limbaugh on "Family Guy" (Video)

Here's the Seth McFarlane "Family Guy" cartoon that ran on Fox last night.  It features Rush Limbaugh and Brian the dog.  Limbaugh gives liberal Brian one of his books, and Brian becomes a right wing firebrand overnight.

The cartoon has more conservative stereotypes than it does liberal.  It had digs at George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, but hardly mentions Obama.  Was it funny?  Sort of, but like most things liberal, it wasn't really balanced.  All the jokes are anti-conservative, though muted.  McFarlane, the producer of the show, is a flaming liberal, but he held himself somewhat in check for this episode, probably as the price of Rush's participation.  Per Rush today, McFarlane reports being deluged with hate mail from the left for "making Rush look good."

Anemic Attendance at Pro-Democrat Rally in D.C.

The Democrats had bragged that their big rally in D.C. yesterday would swamp Glenn Beck's rally of a month before.  Aerial photos show the difference in attendance.  The Democrat attendance was but a pale shadow of the Republican rally.  I think we can expect the same difference in enthusiasm come November 2nd.

Supporting the Progressive Agenda: The "One Nation Working Together" Rally

There is a gathering of liberals and leftists in Washington DC today to "support the progressive agenda."  The rally is called "One Nation Working Together."  The only problem is that there are so many of us who aren't working, i.e. we have no jobs or immediate job prospects.

One attendee told the press:
"We're here to show the rest of the country that there are people who support the progressive agenda," said Ken Bork, who came from Camas, Wash. But he acknowledged that Republicans are enjoying an advantage heading toward the Nov. 2 election that will determine whether Democrats retain control of Congress.

"There may be an enthusiasm gap, but we're not going to know until we have an election," Bork said. "A lot of the noise from the extreme right-wing stuff, it's been well orchestrated by big money. But it's not as bad as they're making it out."
The gathering appears to be an "astroturf" event, organized as public show of support for Democrats, who are expected to lose heavily in the national elections one month from today.

A massive organization for Democrats in the midst of a Democrat-caused depression seems ludicrous at best.  Imagine if half the passengers of the Titanic held a rally for icebergs as the last lifeboat slips away.  Activists would all be drilling holes in the keel to let the water out and save the ship.  "We believe in the iceberg agenda," their leader would say, "the steep incline in the deck is just an illusion, it will soon BLUB BLUB BLUB."

Read all about it here.

Update:  The leftist rally appears to be poorly attended.  Liberal media sites are running photos of the Glenn Beck rally of a month ago, when there really was a large crowd.  Here are some photos of the attendance:

Bill Maher Continues His Soft Blackmail of Christine O'Donnell

Bill Maher, the Commie Comedian, continues his soft blackmail of Christine O'Donnell:
Week Three of the Christine O’Donnell comic hostage crisis: As promised, Bill Maher pressed on with his Friday night embarrassment-by-installment campaign. He’s trying, and failing so far, to goad Delaware’s Republican/Tea Party candidate for Senate into appearing on his current HBO show, “Real Time,” by airing wacky comments from her appearances on his old ABC show, “Politically Incorrect.”

The latest clip, like the first one where she explains her teenage flirtation with witchcraft, reveals her affinity for religious experimentation — not to mention Italian food.
Maher is a worm.  Anyone in the public eye or who may run for office should take heed and avoid ever appearing on Maher's show.

Bill O'Reilly: "Obama Unmoved by Reality"

O'Reilly says that falling poll numbers and a looming electoral disaster are not enough to persuade Obama to abandon his radical agenda:
A few months ago, in the face of declining poll numbers for the liberal president, the debate was whether he would move toward the center like Bill Clinton did in order to mollify public opinion. Well, that question is now being answered: Obama is moving even further left.
How much more destruction can this little weasel inflict before we can finally be rid of him?  God only knows.
