My father passed away in June of 1991, and the following July 4th, as I was watching fireworks in the night sky, I was fraught with the awful realization that it was the first July 4th of my life when I didn't have my father.Stogie Chomperhttp://saberpoint.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22117033.post-44449900637038818592012-11-24T11:00:54.790-08:002012-11-24T11:00:54.790-08:00I feel powerless now that Obama has been re-electe...I feel powerless now that Obama has been re-elected.

I feel exactly the same way. What's the point of obsessing over politics at this point in time? Eventually I will return to the fray, but right now I need a good long rest.Stogie Chomperhttp://saberpoint.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22117033.post-60863460494015670652012-11-24T06:30:55.955-08:002012-11-24T06:30:55.955-08:00I am getting around to this late, but Happy Thanks...I am getting around to this late, but Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. It was a sad day for our family, as it was the first Thanksgiving since Mom passed away in February. I was used to deer hunting until noon and then coming in to eat at Mom and Dad's. I sat and cried in the woods as I thought about her.LD Jacksonhttp://www.ldjackson.net/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22117033.post-57129773542320327462012-11-24T05:43:24.834-08:002012-11-24T05:43:24.834-08:00I plan to do more reading -- pleasure reading.
I...I plan to do more reading -- pleasure reading.

I'm getting burned out with politics. I feel powerless now that Obama has been re-elected. I know that my feeling is unrealistic as I never "had power." Still, that's the way my heart hurts now.

Enjoy that veterans' celebration. That's something worthwhile!Always On Watchhttp://twitter.com/Always_On_Watchnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22117033.post-69013585212216909702012-11-23T12:47:32.570-08:002012-11-23T12:47:32.570-08:00That's good. They didn't show up this year as they had obligations elsewhere. In any case, I am sick of politics for the time being. I am just turning my attention to other things for the time being. I've been asked to play bass for veterans' celebration in ten days and am looking forward to it. I was contacted by a fabulous singer friend (a lady) to come here her jazz band play this Sunday at a jazz club and will go if the other band doesn't practice on that day. The country belongs to the far left for the time being, so let them wreck it. Meanwhile, I will enjoy friends, family and life in general as much as I can.Stogie Chomperhttp://saberpoint.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-22117033.post-5065578987347879732012-11-23T12:08:52.490-08:002012-11-23T12:08:52.490-08:00We do indeed have so many blessings.
Yesterday, ...We do indeed have so many blessings.

Yesterday, politics did not rear its head at the dinner table, thank God. The majority of us at my neighbors' dinner table are conservatives, but two present were Obamabots. For once, the Obamabots keep their damn mouths shut.Always On Watchhttp://twitter.com/Always_On_Watchnoreply@blogger.com
