The big anti-war demonstrations yesterday appear to be a big fizzle, with low participation and not much media coverage. One can only wonder what the airhead antiwar crowd is thinking. It has always seemed to me that pacifists are those who believe if we just ignore our attackers, they'll get tired and go home. The futility and stupidity of this position was well described by a Christian philosopher, William Ralph Inge (1860 -1954) who wrote: “It is useless for the sheep to pass resolutions in favor of vegetarianism while the wolf remains of a different opinion.”
I like the quotation from George Orwell that says "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf."
As for the cute airhead protestor at the right, someone ought to teach her the difference between a Mercedes emblem and a peace symbol.
"You may not be interested in war, but war is interested in you" - Trotsky
ReplyDeleteJust substitute 'jihad' for 'war' and it's a prophecy of what every Kafir in the world's got coming to them in the next 20 years.
P.S. regarding nuking Motown, it's already been done (well almost). That thing in the centre of town that they all walk round is a meteorite. Every bombhead on earth does his obsessive-compulsive head-banging on the floor, ass up in the air 5 times a day towards a chunk of space junk. And they criticise other religions for idolatry.
Maybe NASA can send a few ion-drives to deflect another one in their direction.
MK, yes, I agree about the jihad. It would be nice to live and let live in peace, but Islam has as its major principle war on the rest of mankind until we submit.

Having once stood in the ranks of those rough men, I can only say I wish I was 20 years younger in order to rejoin them!
Thank a Trooper .......beleive me you owe it to them!
Anon,no argument there. Thank you for your service.
ReplyDeleteIt appears to me that these people are just doing the same thing you are, Stogie. They are speaking their deisres to those who will listen. They are hoping to get the word out.
ReplyDeleteIt is true, that beyond that they are not accomplishing much. Yet that alone is an accomplishment.
So, beyond that, what are you doing? What is your plan to execute a change? You still have not answered my questions.

The great thing about freedom is the freedom to tell lefties like you to "pound it up your ass"
"We don't need to answer your Stinkin Questions"
Now, now. Is Gary a Lefty? My older brother thinks he's a demon. Whatever you are Gary, you're welcome. As soon as I finalize my plans for world domination, you'll be the first to kow.
ReplyDeleteThanks Stogie. Ya know, all I want is to engage in some intelligent dialog - about how to bring about change.
ReplyDeletePeople get stuck in their particular paradigms and may want to do good - but become part of the problem.
As for me - no I am not a lefty - but I am not fringe right either. Yes I voted for Bush, and back him most of the time. Some things could have been handled better.
The problem he has is that if he were to be "honset" about policy he would probably cause the collapse he is obviously trying to avoid.
What people need to understand is that this country is in greater danger of economic collapse than problems from Islamists. We have serious issues to deal with internaly, and what they do "out there" is an extention.
So -- to some extent I see that a lot of this back and forth name calling - just draws attention and energy away from what we really need to concentrate on.
Islam may be a problem, and when seen as you pont out it is. In reality we are our own problem. We have become unsustainable. The president knows it - and his team is doing what they can. The real problem is that they can not do it all - we must help!!!!!
We need to do some soul searching and get in line with sustainable practices - - or it all will fall. Not by some foreign idealism - but by our own lack of vision.
I could go on, but will leave it at that for now.
