AOW, the forms are ready but the IRS will not process them before Monday, February 14. Due to late changes in the tax laws, they were unable to update their computer system to accommodate all of the changes (or non-changes, since some things that were supposed to expire were extended). There are other little hangups too, like if you are a teacher (which you are), if you take the $250 teacher's deduction (actually, an adjustment to income) or if you are to start repaying the mortgage credit of 2008, you will have to wait until after the 14th to file your return.
Adobe Walls, it isn't much of a living since I am getting really lousy pay. However, I am enjoying the activity, the meeting with clients, the feeling of being productive and useful! It's all good.
It's a living right?
ReplyDeleteI read in the WaPo that IRS will not have the forms for itemized returns ready before February 14. True?
