Before Bergdahl deserted his post, he had sent several emails to his father, complaining about America's wars in the middle east and expressing doubt as to the rightness of our mission there. The emerging picture suggests that Bergdahl deserted and was captured under dishonorable circumstances.
Obama traded five of the most rabid Taliban leaders at Gitmo for this one low level soldier. He did so without giving Congress 30 days notice, as the law requires. Once again, Obama acted alone and outside the law, and his actions may result in the deaths of more American soldiers once these Taliban leaders return to the fight.
Bergdahl's father, one Robert Bergdahl, appears to be a practicing Muslim, complete with skull cap and big hairy beard. The elder Bergdahl visited the White House for Obama's announcement of his son's release, and immediately uttered an Islamic prayer in Arabic. He later tweeted his wish that all Gitmo prisoners would be freed, and expressed his wish in a way that suggests favorable identification with their cause. He tweeted:
@Balkhi I am still working to free all Guantanamo prisoners. God will repay for the death of every Afghan child, ameen! So the question that is obvious is this: Did Obama trade five highly dangerous Taliban leaders for one unworthy US soldier, one that may be both a deserter and sympathetic to the enemy?
Yes. That is the obvious conclusion, IMO.
ReplyDeleteThat seems to be a growing consensus among many pundits. Obama is a disaster.
ReplyDeleteWhat's up! I Һave been reading this blog for awhile and I think it truly is well-written. I'm always getting excited about seeing a brand new post.

Call me crazy if you want, but my personal theory is that Mr. Bergdahl is either CIA or the military at the very least wants to interrogate him for information regarding the Taliban. They wouldn't go this far to recover one corporal unless he had something they wanted and couldn't get elsewhere. As the only American captive, he would've likely been paraded all around Afghanistan and might've come into contact with high ranking members of the Taliban who would've come to see him out of curiosity. Even if the only information he was privy to was their faces, that information might be enough to identify who's who in the Taliban hierarchy. Sounds silly, but it might be worth pay attention to for details.
ReplyDeleteThose five Taliban leaders have probably been so mentally and physically sodomized in Guantanamo that they're more of a threat to themselves than to the rest of us. A lot of the detainees there are practically on the verge of insanity from the isolation alone according to visitors.

It's a shame the brass didn't put nearly as much effort into getting this real patriot back

This all stinks to high heaven. If this guy was so upset with the Wars in Iraq and Afghanistan that he wanted out, why would he desert? There's plenty of ways to get yourself kicked out of the Army without doing something that could get you executed or sent to prison for a very long time at the very least. Claim you're gay, get fat, publicly espouse Communist or Islamist sympathies, or just be a douchebag to everyone around you. Desertion seems like the worst idea given that Al Qaeda killed every American they took captive in Iraq.
ReplyDeleteThe Veterans Administration horror show and now this. Vets and lower-rank military (plus some non-political-appointee officers) are now Buraq's enemies. This could be a turning point. I hope they don't try anything as foolish as a coup d'etat, but if the Failed Messiah orders mass arrests of American citizens enough of the military will oppose his action.
ReplyDeleteTechnically, Bergdahl was being held by Haqqani -- not the Taliban. The two organizations can intersect, but Haqqani's expertise is raising funds for jihad -- from the emirate states.
ReplyDeleteClearly, Obama did trade five highly dangerous Taliban leaders for one unworthy US soldier. And for a PFC, at that!
Furthermore, Susan Rice went on the Sunday morning shows to say that Bergdahl "served with honor and distinction." He did NOT!
Now, here is my question: What is the real reason that Obama brokered this trade? Hmmmmm?
"Did Obama trade five highly dangerous Taliban leaders for one unworthy
ReplyDeleteUS soldier, one that may be both a deserter and sympathetic to the
enemy?"
Yes. And did so illegally.
They're Muslims, so insanity isn't required to make them dangerous. I doubt that they are sodomizing each other. They are well fed, have access to basketball courts and other amenities, like expensive artificial limbs and medical care. I wouldn't trust the Guardian, it is very left wing.
ReplyDeleteI subscribe to Occam's Razor, "the simplest explanation is usually the one that is true." Emails to and from his father indicate Bergdahl is simply a Muslim sympathizer who deserted his post. However, if any of your suspicions are true, perhaps they will come out in his court martial.
ReplyDeleteIf mass arrests start to happen, the citizenry will not wait for the military to step in. There will be massive resistance to such arrests, a refusal to obey, and massive protests.
ReplyDeleteSurely Obama knew of Bergdahl's dishonorable desertion. Why did he broker the trade? More and more I am coming to believe that he sympathizes with the enemy. Obama is so dangerous that he really should be impeached. Hope we retake the Senate in November and hold the House, as that will make his impeachment possible.
ReplyDeleteI didn't mean to suggest that citizens would need to depend on military personnel for defense if Buraq decides it's time to round up and "disappear" his enemies like some Latin American dictator. Just that most of our armed forces personnel are apparently enraged. They will be good to have as allies. The SWAT teams from Podunk and the Fish and Wildlife Service will learn what it means to go up against real soldiers.
ReplyDeleteYes, we do need to have the military on our side. Obama has been firing senior generals and officers for some time now, weeding out those who might not be loyal to his sorry ass. The rank and file, though, will probably support us in the event a revolution becomes necessary.
