Ben Jones, also known as "Cooter," isn't shy about castigating those who would remove the Confederate flag from the top of the "General Lee," the souped up orange colored car that was used in this popular televison series. He defended the flag and Southern symbols on FaceBook. His comments are below.
With thanks to
Young Conservatives for this article.
Stogie,
ReplyDeleteInteresting article I saw about Louis Farrakhan in Breitbart. Farrakhan may be a racist, homophobic, piece of shit who makes David Duke seem like a nice guy, but I'll give him credit for being ideologically coherent. One cannot smear the Confederate flag as racist and then act like centuries of slavery, segregation, and Indian massacres doesn't make the US flag 10x more guilty of the same crime.

Meanwhile, we have this lead opinion piece in the WaPo: Taking down the Confederate flag musn’t [sic] obscure the South’s vile history, which states the following in the final paragraph:
ReplyDeleteSo, yes, removing the Confederate battle flag from places of honor seems
an excellent idea. And while we’re at it, scrapping the voter
identification laws enacted to suppress minority voting and putting an
end to the systematic incarceration and police harassment of young black
men are in order as well. Dispelling our legacy of violent racism
requires more than furling a flag.
The cascade of crap has just begun.
Get rid of Gone with the Wind? See this!
ReplyDeleteDeo, the culture war has reached an extreme point. There's no telling what will happen next.
ReplyDeleteThe only solution to this outpouring of hatred towards the South is secession. Again. That's the way I see it.
ReplyDeleteThey're neutering General Lee for fear of offending someone?
ReplyDeleteThat does it. This country has gone 100% nuts. I used to think there was hope.
I too have lost hope.
ReplyDeleteThanks AOW. I posted about it. I understand they are now considering removing Thomas Jefferson's statue from Washington D.C.
ReplyDeleteMe, too!
ReplyDeleteI've heard about that.
ReplyDeleteDamn.
Orwellian times!
Stogie,
ReplyDeleteDo you think that the other states will allow THAT?
The other states have no right to allow or disallow that. It is up to the people of the various states, as it always has been. Do you think the states remaining in the union would have the will to invade the seceding states, again? I doubt it, but it would behoove all conservative states to arm themselves to the teeth, and have contingency plans for such an eventuality, perhaps coordinated with those of like-minded states.
