The Academy Awards and Black People (#Whine #Oscars)

It seems no black actors or actresses or directors were nominated for academy awards this year.  Boo hoo hoo.  Now black actors and actresses, along with some really repugnant white people (like Michael Moore), are going to boycott the Oscars, and encourage others to do so as well.

You see, when one is equal in society and citizenship, he only gets equal opportunity, not unearned equal outcomes.  Maybe the black actors, actresses and directors just couldn't cut it this year.  After all, there are fewer black Oscar candidates than for whites and Hispanics.  However, that's math.  Liberals don't understand math.

The black Hollywood crowd wants racial quotas, AGAIN.  They want to keep their sacred victimhood alive.  Equality, the exposure to the chance of failure as well as success, is not what they want.  They want Black Privilege.  They want guaranteed outcomes. Personally, the black drama got old for me some time ago.  But just to be fair, the "acting" now going on, the staged outrage, the shrieks of horror and despair, the indelible indignation -- maybe that does deserve a special Oscar for these bad actors.  Give them a participation trophy, made out of gold-colored plastic.

It's time, way past time, to take off the training wheels, let the quota-babies sink or swim on their own.  Just the like the rest of us.  Welcome to the real world, Black Peeps.

Special Academy Award Issued to North Korean Mourners for Great Acting

"Oh Boo Hoo Hoo Hoo!"  How was that?
Maggie over at Maggie's Notebook noticed something that I also noticed:  the wailing, gesticulating mourners at Kim Jong Il's funeral were decidedly dry-eyed.  With all that moaning, bawling and crying, there were no tears. The mourners, knowing what was good for them, put on quite an act for Dear Leader's funeral.

Just Out of Camera Range
We suspect that Hollywood will issue a special Oscar for these amazing put-ons.  Acting!

Meanwhile, singing was heard throughout the land:  "The Witch is dead, the Witch is dead, the wicked Witch is dead!"  The Lollipop Guild is expected to make a public announcement shortly.

The Academy Awards

I'm live blogging the Oscars! How exciting! I..... (Sorry I must have dozed off).

The Leftard Jon Stewart is the unfunny Master of Cermonies. There are scores of beautiful young women, all apparently stamped out of a giant cookie-cutter and as original and unique as one of the shrimp in the salad I ate last night. The men resemble some grotesque zoo of bearded penguins. Well at least the men's dress is traditional -- but taffeta? I thought that was out this year.

Even more sickening in its conformity is the liberal/leftist/anti-american politics of the whole lot of the Hollywoodenheads. As I watch this congregation of self-satisfied snobs go about their ceremonial ministrations, I feel that I am spying on the Enemy. This is the group who do not support and celebrate American culture, history or civilization. This is the bunch who have shed their once-existing purpose of entertainment and inspiration to one of psychologically undermining the masses. Their new purpose is one of propaganda for America's enemies, for the false science of global warming, for the crockumentaries of Michael Moore, for constantly denigrating conservative, traditional values in favor of socialism, pacifism, ethnic victimhood and alienation.

As the stars accept their awards we are treated to the suspense of knowing what unamerican comments they may utter. The "best" movie hasn't been announced yet and we can only wonder which celluloid perversion of sadism and mayhem will win the award. Perhaps it will be "No Country for Old Men," a savage tale of a Mafia-hired killer who dead pans his role through the totally pointless stinker. Why is it the best film? Because it has no plot, no moral message, no tale of good triumphing over evil, no redeeming qualities at all. It could be used as a training film for lobotomized homocidal maniacs.

One of the announcers claimed that "the Golden Age of film isn't over." Wrong. It's dead and buried. Perhaps they could change the name of this annual monstrosity from "the Academy Awards" to something more Hollywoodish and appropriate. My vote is for "Night of the Living Dead."

UPDATE: Nielsen says the 2008 Academy Awards ratings were the worst ever! There is justice after all!

The Academy Awards: The Enemy In Black Tie

I've always loved movies, but they aren't what they used to be. Today Hollywood is patently leftist and largely anti-American. When I watched the Academy Awards tonight I felt I was looking in on a meeting of the enemy. Film is used so much for propaganda purposes now and it takes a lot of mental effort to screen out the leftist messages and premises buried in the scripts. It is often not worth the effort to watch.

Biased movies with liberal themes are not the main problem. Movies today are largely just plain terrible in quality. My wife and I drop by the local Blockbusters once a week or so to see if there are any movies worth watching. Frequently, there aren't any. Hollywood has become a cultural wasteland, as barren of meaning, inspiration and entertainment as Death Valley. After wandering through the aisles filled with sex movies, vampires, murderers, hate-America films and other trash, we leave emptyhanded and feeling disgusted. I did have one moment of pleasure, however, when I noticed that Al Bore's movie "An Inconvenient Truth" had a shelf full of unrented DVD's. No one is rushing out to rent that pap.

Al Bore got an Oscar for his mythical propaganda film about global warming. The award was strictly political, as the film is scientifically inaccurate and highly boring. The woman who scored the film also won an Oscar and thanked her "wife and their four kids" for supporting her in the effort. Next year I expect a PETA member to win an Oscar and then thank his wife Bossy and their four calves.

Hollywood continues to annoy and irritate me. Every vacuous starlet and wannabe feels the need to mouth off about George Bush or Americans or the United States, saying something that is insulting or ridiculous. Now when I see Gwyneth Paltrow I remember her juvenile diatribe about how Americans are shallow and greedy, and that's why she now lives in England. I will never watch one of her films again. It's not that I demand a political litmus test in those I allow to entertain me. It's because I do not patronize those entertainers who feel it necessary to insult me and Americans in general.

The latest airhead to make this mistake is America Ferrera, star of the TV comedy "Ugly Betty." Yesterday she made some lame comment that America will not be free again until we get rid of George Bush. "Ugly Betty" was my favorite television show but now I feel irritation at the thought of watching it. Maybe I won't bother. It's not that I think George Bush is the second coming. In truth, he is a mediocre president and a weak leader. I too will be glad when he leaves office. But to make an asinine statement that America isn't "free" because Bush is in power tells me that Ms. Ferrera is just another liberal airhead, a typical pull-string vocal puppet of the faddish Hollywood left.

And we have enough of those already.
