So Long, Herman Cain, It Was Great Knowing You

He's Done:  Cain Waves Bye-Bye
This week a woman in Atlanta, one Ginger White, stated that she had a "casual affair" with Herman Cain over a twelve to thirteen year period.  Whereas Cain's former accusers were neither specific nor particularly credible, White's accusations appear believable.

The mounting impression is that Herman Cain is a horn-dog along the lines of Bill Clinton.  As such, he carries a lot of baggage into the race for president and this latest revelation undoubtedly terminates his chance to become president of the United States.

I have vigorously defended Cain in previous posts, but will defend him no longer.  I don't particularly care about his private sex life, but many other voters will care, and will pass him by.  So for that reason, I say, "So long, Herman, it was nice knowin' ya."

Now if there are any other Randy Roaming Republicans out there who want to run for office, I have one word of advice:  Don't.  Don't waste our time.   Stay home and rent "Debby Does Dallas" and leave us the hell alone.

Are the Libertarians Right About Abraham Lincoln?

Lincoln Prepares for Office
Libertarians like Ron Paul believe that Abraham Lincoln (believed by many to be our greatest president) was actually our most despotic, our greatest shredder of the Constitution.  A few days ago, one of the writers at Powerline asked, somewhat humorously, if Ron Paul thought Lincoln was such a Constitution shredder, why did Paul belong to the party of Lincoln?

Powerline's question was stupid and it irked me.  Paul is a Republican because it is the lesser of two evils.  No doubt Paul feels he can find more allies for common cause in the Republican Party than he ever could in the Democratic.  What other choice does he have?  I assume Powerline is aware that the current Republican Party is not invading sovereign states, shutting down newspapers, arresting entire state legislatures, deporting federal congressmen who disagree, suspending habeas corpus, imprisoning thousands without charges or trial, and attempting to arrest the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court for ruling against them.

Of course, if any president were doing this today he would be run out of town on a rail, tarred and feathered and speedily impeached.  However, when you are a martyr from assassination and live safely in the distant past, one is more likely to discount your crimes and even celebrate them and hold them up as an example of heroic behavior.

Most people are just unaware of Lincoln's actual legacy.  He has been beatified, apotheosized, his face made into an icon and submerged into our consciences from kindergarten on.  His stern visage is displayed along side that of Washington, is carved on Mt. Rushmore and printed on the five dollar bill.  His mythology has been made into an unquestioned article of faith, and anyone who questions it guilty of apostasy.  He was the Great Emancipator, the rail-splitter, the young man who studied law by his fireplace in a log cabin, using charcoal sticks to write his lessons on the back of a shovel.  A shovel, it seems, is exactly what is needed to shed a more accurate light on this man's career and character.

In any case, I responded to Powerline's really dumb question by informing them that Lincoln's crimes against the Constitution were well known and easily listed, and I listed some of them as proof.  This brought some angry responses from some of the Powerline readers, one of whom was really vicious.  People who revere Abraham Lincoln do not like having holes poked in their fantasies, and it showed.  I am neither a libertarian nor a supporter of Ron Paul (I have attacked him far more in this blog than I have supported him, and you can look it up).  However, I am a Confederate descendant, and when it was your ancestors that bore the brunt of this president's total war against states and civilians, you tend not to be so mesmerized by the man's shining myth.

I started looking for material on Lincoln, and found a similar thread at Free Republic, where the pro-Lincoln commenters were even more vicious than those at Powerline.  (I was banned from Free Republic several years ago for defending the South.)

Well my search for material on Lincoln's crimes yielded fruit, and at some time in the future I will list those crimes and why they are important to acknowledge in the here and now.  In short, Lincoln assumed the role of a dictator during the Civil War and swept away all Constitutional safeguards in pursuit of empire.  He did not save the Union, he destroyed it, replacing it with something else, a consolidated republic wherein the individual (and formerly sovereign) states are little more than postal zones.

I don't agree with the libertarians much at all when it comes to foreign policy, but when it comes to Abraham Lincoln, they got it right.  The man was a disaster.

Here is one of my resources; an online book you can read for free.  It's called "America's Caesar," by Greg Loren Durand.  Read it at this link.

"Occupy" Thugs Attack San Diego Wall-Mart

On Black Friday a bunch of "Occupy" leftists attacked a Wall-Mart store in San Diego. They filled up 75 shopping carts full of store items, then got in line to the cash register. Their leader, the first in line, then broadcast socialist propaganda to the rest of the shoppers, stating how bad a corporation Wall-Mart is for offering goods at low and affordable prices. Apparently, to the Occupy movement, poor people having any kind of Christmas is just unacceptable.

The Occupy scum then left the 75 filled shopping carts in the checkout line and left the store, leaving it to the Wall-Mart staff to restock the shelves.

Of course, the Occupy slime aren't really attacking Wall-Mart for low prices, or for "harming the environment," or for paying lower wages or benefits to workers. They are attacking Wall-Mart because it represents free enterprise and capitalism.

The real goal of the "Occupy" movement is to increase governmental control of the economy, en route to their eventual goal of ending private ownership of the means of production -- a long time, long-term Marxist goal.

Lady GaGa sings "White Christmas" and Does an Amazing Job

I don't know what's up with the very weird (but nice) Lady GaGa. Lately she's been singing "American Songbook" old standards with Tony Bennett and also as a soloist. In this clip she sings the great old song "White Christmas," backed up by a traditional jazz ensemble, complete with string bass!  If she keeps this up I will become an official fan.

Getting Ready for Thanksgiving: Home Made Tamales

Tamales
Wifey is making tamales from scratch.   Well, except for the masa, which she bought freshly ground from a bakery.  Masa is like corn meal, only much finer.  It is corn dough.  It's the coating around the meat in tamales.

I have loved tamales since I was a small child.  I was fascinated by the funny paper wrappings around them and wondered how they made it.  Years later I realized that the funny paper was really the sheaves from corn husks.

Wifey is making regular meat tamales, but also sweet tamales, with raisins and pineapple and brown sugar.  When she isn't looking I swipe a spoonful of the mixed sweet masa and eat it raw. Yum!

She's also making a third kind of tamale, cheese tamales, with Monterey Jack cheese and mild Jalapenos (big Mexican peppers).

We will take a load of these tamales to the family Thanksgiving dinner in San Jose tomorrow.  They should be a big hit!

The Real Meaning of Thanksgiving: the Triumph of Capitalism Over Communism

Always on Watch referred me to this excellent essay by the American Institute of Economic Research.  It's titled The Real Meaning of Thanksgiving:  the Triumph of Capitalism Over Communism.

This essay recounts the collectivist experiment of the first American colonists and how it failed, leading to starvation and death among the English Puritans who came to Plymouth Rock in 1620.  After a couple of winters of want and privation, the colonists changed the system to one of self-interest:  each family was allowed to grow and keep its own crops.  The result was prosperity and plenty.  The reason is simple:  people will work very hard for the benefit of themselves and their families, but not for a collective in which the lazy and unproductive are given equal rewards with the industrious:
The Plymouth Colony experienced a great bounty of food. Private ownership meant that there was now a close link between work and reward. Industry became the order of the day as the men and women in each family went to the fields on their separate private farms. When the harvest time came, not only did many families produce enough for their own needs, but they had surpluses that they could freely exchange with their neighbors for mutual benefit and improvement.
These simple truths are well established, and are the reason why the "Occupy" movement will fail:  it is a movement of the lazy, spoiled and selfish, insisting that the world owes them a living and that it is the duty of their fellow citizens to provide it.

48 Years and Counting

Today forty-eight years have passed since Lee Harvey Oswald murdered President Kennedy in Dallas.  Funny how time flies.

Of course, a massive conspiracy killed Kennedy.  Just ask any campus radical or your local paranoid.  They know.  A conspiracy of the federal government, the CIA, the Mafia, the Dallas Police and some guy watching the parade from under an umbrella.

This massive conspiracy just goes to show how amazingly competent the government is.  Not only can it bring hundreds (if not thousands) of public officials together to commit treason and murder, it can foresee every contingency and hide all of the facts, perpetrators and accomplices for 48 years.  Yep, the federal government is that good. How else could they fake the moon landings, assassinate Robert Kennedy and Martin Luther King, then carry out the false flag operation in New York on 9/11/2001?  Even now, the government is watching us through our computers, pulling strings, manipulating every factoid and daily occurrence from the fender bender on the corner to the latest war in the Middle East.  These guys would make the super-government in "1984" look like rank amateurs.  Now you know why the post office is so coldly efficient.

Of course I am being sarcastic.  I have always believed that Lee Harvey Oswald killed Kennedy, and that he acted alone.  The Warren Commission had it right all along.  And I will keep saying that as long as my checks from the CIA keep coming...or until I suddenly disappear one day after the black helicopters come for me....

Will Obama be the Democratic Candidate in 2012? How Could Things Get Any Worse for Him?

Barack Obama's incompetence and lack of suitability for the presidency is becoming increasingly obvious even to Democrats.  This week Chris Matthews of "tingles up my leg" fame announced his profound disappointment with the Being of Light.  Always on Watch has more details and a video here.

What was obvious to conservatives prior to the 2008 election is now becoming obvious to Obama-believers:  the man is an empty suit.   It is scary to see how easily a majority of American voters can be taken in by a slick media campaign and self-delude to such an extent.  Obama was, as I said in an earlier post, a Rorschach Ink Blot, an unknown symbol onto which the dreamers could project their personal fantasies and believe that he was the second coming, the "one we have all been waiting for," a man who must be all-wise, all-knowing and all-good.  After all, he had such a nice, razor-sharp crease in his pants-leg, a sure sign of a new King Arthur pulling Excalibur from the stone.

The news for King Arthur II only gets worse.  Major Bloomberg of New York is blasting Obama for the failure of the "Super Committee," calling it "a disaster."  Bloomberg said:
"I just think that the failure of the supercommittee to come to an agreement is a damning indictment of Washington's ability to govern this country," the mayor said during a press conference announcing a supermarket opening on Staten Island.
A New Hampshire poll shows Romney defeating Obama by 10 percentage points:
Obama trails Republican Mitt Romney among likely general election voters in the state by 10 percentage points in a hypothetical contest amid voter discontent with the president’s job performance and the economy, according to a Bloomberg News poll conducted Nov. 10-11. Obama carried New Hampshire by 54 percent to 45 percent in 2008.

Independent voters in the state, the site of the nation’s first presidential primary, have swung even more strongly against Obama. Romney would win independents there by 15 percentage points, the poll shows.

Obama has been a “lackluster” president with “no steady plan to create jobs,” says poll respondent Karl Swanson, 61, a marketing consultant and political independent who lives in Rye.
The question now in my mind is this:  will Barack Obama step down and allow another Democrat to run for president in 2012?  Personally, I doubt it.  I don't think Obama is that unselfish.

Medal of Honor Recipients in Arlington National Cemetery

I wandered onto a page listing all of the Medal of Honor recipients who are buried in Arlington Cemetery.  I selected several names at random just to read about the man behind the name.  The result was several inspiring stories of valor and bravery, of soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen.  One was a captain in the horse cavalry who fought Indians in Arizona.  Another was a marine who served in China during the Boxer Rebellion in 1900.  A soldier earned his medal in 1918, in World War I in France, and a sailor saved lives in Korea in 1951.  Of course, there were some stories from World War II as well.

There was only one name in the Z section, that of Lt. Colonel James Zeamer Jr., of the United States Army Air Corps (the service that predated the Air Force).  Zeamer won the Medal of Honor fighting off Japanese fighters from a bomber near New Guinea in 1943.  One of his crewmen, one Joseph R. Sarnoski, also won the Medal of Honor in the same plane in the same fight.  Sarnoski shot down several Japanese planes, but was mortally wounded in the fight.  Knocked down by an explosive shell, he crawled back to his machine gun and continued firing until death overtook him.  He died at his station.

Sarnoski was awarded the Medal of Honor posthumously, was buried in New Guinea, his remains later relocated to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, in Hawaii.  Read all about this brave American here.

Lt. Colonel Zeamer survived World War II and died in March 2007 at the age of 88, his interment being in Arlington Cemetery.

If you want inspiration by great Americans, do visit this site and read several obituaries at random.  You will meet great men from other times and be inspired.

Paul Ryan: Making Sense on the Economy and Why OWS is Wrong

Rep. Paul Ryan
Rep. Paul Ryan of Wisconsin shares some economic wisdom in an interview with the American Enterprise Institute.  He explains well why "wealth redistribution" only makes people poorer, destroys opportunity and increases misery.

His solution to poverty and unemployment:
...our answer is upward mobility — not begrudging people who become successful, but making it easier for people to find success, to bring those rungs of the economic ladder within reach of people who’ve never scaled it before. Grow the pie versus redistribute slices of a shrinking pie. That’s what our society has always prided itself on. That’s the American system we’ve had. … It would be a shame to get rid of it and transform it into a social democracy model like you have in Europe, which simply means bitter austerity and shared misery.
On why redistribution is not the answer to poverty:
I’m just saying look at the complete picture. And the complete picture is that our transfer programs should be aimed at the people who need them, not people who don’t. Our tax system should not have as its primary, guiding principle redistribution. It should have growth as its primary principle so you can accelerate mobility. When you have a tax system aimed at redistribution and narrowing disparities, you end up slowing down growth and slowing down mobility.
 On government "fixing" income disparity:
As a person in government, I don’t see it as my job to try and micromanage the outcome of people’s lives. I see it as trying to advance the premise of equality of opportunity and getting people as much opportunity to improve themselves as possible. … The whole premise of this argument is wrong. The economy is not a zero-sum system. One man’s gain does not necessarily come at another man’s loss. … Wealth is created. Steve Jobs started Apple in his garage not by taking from somebody else but by creating and inventing something. Wealth and growth are organic and don’t necessarily come from somebody else’s loss.
On Barack Obama's "class warfare" strategy for reelection:
There’s far more anxiety in society because the economy is so bad. … It’s easier to find a scapegoat than address the root causes of these problems. But obviously [President Barack Obama] is banking his reelection on this tact. … He doesn’t have a good record to run on. The results are abysmal. He’s clearly not going to triangulate like Bill Clinton because … he’s far more ideological than Bill Clinton was. … So all he’s got left is to take all the anxiety that is building in America and try and tap into it and channel it toward class resentment. These are powerful emotions — fear, envy, anxiety, resentment — very powerful emotions but dark emotions. They are extremely divisive. But it seems to me that’s the plan.
Ryan imparts a lot of insight and wisdom.  Read the whole interview here.

Thanksgiving With Stogie: The Turkey's Ready and the Table is Set! (Photoshop)

I just created a Thanksgiving motif for a blogger friend and will do the same for others for a small donation.  Here's the one I created for myself, a little early, but what the heck.  The Turkey's ready!  Let's give thanks and partake.  All images were taken off the web and combined to make the graphic below, including the Victorian wainscoting and wall paper and the red mahogany table.  I created the nifty old-fashioned needle point with a free font I got off the web.  Am I cool or what?

The Three Tenors Sing "Cielito Lindo" (My Favorite Spanish Song)

I'm taking my first semester of Spanish at the local community college here in Hollister, and enjoying it very much.  Learning a foreign language has always been easy to me for some reason, and I am getting a solid A in the class. (That's me in the sombrero - it's a Photoshop.) I know we as conservatives often attach negative feelings to many things Spanish, Mexican or Hispanic, because of the influx of illegal immigrants, the gangs and the drugs.  However, Hispanic culture is often rich and beautiful and we should not be blind to those qualities.

A song I have loved since childhood is the Spanish song from Mexico, "Cielito Lindo."  Per Wikipedia,
"Cielito lindo" is a popular Ranchera song from Mexico, written in 1882 by Quirino Mendoza y Cortés (c. 1859–1957).[1] It is roughly translated as "Lovely Sweet One". Although the word "cielo" means sky or heaven, it is also a term of endearment comparable to sweetheart or honey. "Cielito" can thus be translated as "sweetie"; "lindo" means cute, lovely or pretty. Sometimes the song is known by words from the refrain, "Canta y no llores". ["sing and don't cry"]

Commonly played by mariachi bands, it has been recorded by many artists in the original Spanish or in English and other languages using the melody of the song. In recent decades it has come to be widely known as a theme song for Mexicans, particularly at international events, like the FIFA World Cup.
When I was a kid I didn't know the words so would just sing, "Ay, ay, ay, ay!  Oh my sombrero!"  That's all I knew and it was wrong.  The refrain is quite famous.  It goes:
Ay, ay, ay, ay,
Canta y no llores,  [Sing and don't cry]
Porque cantando se alegran, [Because singing gladdens,]
Cielito lindo, los corazones. [My dear, our hearts.]
The full words and translation of this great song can be found here.

Finally, here singing a shortened version of the song are the "Three Tenors" [the Spanish singers Plácido Domingo and José Carreras and the Italian singer Luciano Pavarotti]:

A longer version, with a lovely children's choir, can be viewed here.

Eagle on Gravestone in Military Cemetery (Photo)

I found this on the web.  I don't know if the photo is real or if the eagle was added via Photoshop, but it is an inspiring image nonetheless.

Update: the photo is real. The photo was taken by Frank Glick in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Glick's hobby is photography and he was visiting the cemetery when he spotted the eagle atop a veteran's gravestone. Another man who saw the photo did some research to learn the identity of the veteran on whose gravestone the eagle alighted. He learned it was Sgt. Maurice Ruch, a veteran of World War II. Ruch's widow as well as his best friend were greatly inspired by the photo when it was finally shown to them.

Unemployment Rate Actually at 22% (Graph)

Doug Ross Journal has posted the following graph, showing how unemployment has spiked since 2008, and hasn't improved since Obama was elected. Doug Ross says that the actual unemployment rate is around 22%, but this is hidden by games played by the Bureau of Labor with statistics.

Oh yez, let's vote for Obama in 2012!  I've always wanted to live in a cardboard box under a bridge, haven't you?

Obama admits that things are bad, but insists that they would have been much worse except for his actions to "stimulate" the economy.  That's like the Captain of the Titanic saying that, yes, things are bad, but the ship would be sinking much faster without his navigation skills.

"All American Muslim" Reality Show Begins on Sunday: More Liberal Propaganda?

Debbie Schlussel has posted an article about a new reality show designed to portray American Muslims as just one, poor, misunderstood minority.  The tagline of the show is "One Nation, Under Suspicion," and yes, we should indeed be suspicious, with domestic Muslims killing other citizens in the name of their religion, the most egregious of which was that of Major Nidal Malik Hasan, who shot and killed thirteen people at Fort Hood two years ago.  Other Muslims have been involved in terrorist plots and in supporting terrorist organizations, as well as attempting to set off bombs in Times Square and shooting people (an airlines passenger at LA Airport, a Jewish woman in Seattle, an army recruiter in Oregon).

Funny thing about that new "reality" show, some of the poor, misunderstood Muslims belong to organizations that support Hezbollah and HAMAS.  Schlussel writes:
And while the show tries to pretend that these Muslims are “just like us,” just like any other Americans, the fact is they aren’t, and the show won’t ask them probing questions, like asking them to condemn Hezbollah and HAMAS. In fact, as I pointed out, most, if not all, of the Muslims on the show are Shi’ite Muslims of Lebanese descent. They all support Hezbollah.

What Caused the Financial Crisis? John Hinderaker of Powerline Explains

Powerline has an excellent article (by John Hinderaker) that should be bookmarked for future reference.  He is saying what I have said, many times in this blog:  the financial crisis was caused by Congress, forcing banks to make bad loans.  Liberals and Democrats, of course, like to blame the banks for the financial crisis, but banks were largely the victims of governmental interference in the housing market.  Hundreds of banks failed following the bursting real estate bubble, which in turn was caused by the easy mortgage credit.

Hinderaker writes:
The financial crash from which America is still struggling to recover was, of course, reasonably complex. But the basics are not hard to understand: the federal government wanted to increase “access” to home ownership by encouraging banks to make loans to underqualified buyers–what would traditionally have been called bad loans. The government used a carrot-and-stick approach. The stick was constant pressure on banks to show that they were not “red-lining” but rather were taking their share of risk with respect to home loans. The carrot was Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, who reassured banks that they could make bad loans without fear of the usual consequences, since those government-sponsored entities would take them off the banks’ books.

Liberals have tried to revise this history, but, as Conn Carroll writes in the Examiner, the facts are the facts...

Read it all here.
Yes, the economy tanked as the plunging real estate market spread financial disaster throughout the economy like a tidal wave.  People who lost their jobs and homes as a result have the government to blame, or more specifically, the Democratic Party, who continually seeks new ways to "spread the wealth," often with disastrous results.  The bad news is that Obama is still pushing banks to continue making these bad loans.

Young college grads who see bleak prospects ahead should not protest the banks, they should protest the federal government, and vote to turn the social engineers out of Congress.  In other words, vote Republican.  The Republican Party is far from perfect, but it is a step in the right direction for all those who desire economic opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

Veterans Day 11/11/11

Today is Veterans Day and all vets deserve a great "Thank You" from all of us.  It's easy to make gloriously patriotic graphics and wave the flag, but war is a lot nastier than all that.  Most of us can't begin to imagine the hell our veterans had to live through.

I think this picture shows some of the reality.  We should never put our military in harms way for light or frivolous reasons.  However, when we are attacked, then it's time to commit the troops to punish the aggressors, to kill them and destroy their ability to make war.  We should not waste the lives of our military trying to make democrats out of barbarians.  Just my opinion.

Today's date is also interesting in itself:  11/11/11.

Photoshop of the Day: "It's Rino Time!" A Product of the Romney-Gingrich Brewing Company

Feel free to use as you see fit.

Global warming, ties to Al Sharpton, Islam and biofuels...what's not to like?

Newt Gingrich? Never. Rick Perry? Fuhgedaboutit.

Sean Hannity interviewed Newt Gingrich on his radio show yesterday.  Hannity gently inquired about Newt's stand on man-made global warming (AGW) and how that turns off a lot of conservatives.  Gingrich replied that he does not study what conservative positions to take or to espouse when he debates or when he is interviewed, then indicated that he still believes in man-made global warming.  He said he acknowledges that "a minority of scientists" are skeptics about AGW.

Horse manure, the majority of climate scientists do not believe in man-made global warming, according to what I have read.  Gingrich's stand on AGW means that I can not support him and I will not vote for him in the primaries.  Would he be a better president than Obama?  Who wouldn't?

Rick Perry blew it (again) in the debates this week, getting brain-lock in response to a simple question, i.e. "What federal agency would you get rid of?"  He could have answered "the Department of Energy, the Department of Education, etc" but he didn't respond at all.  He froze.  Imagine Perry in a debate with Obama...no, I don't think so.  Rick Perry is all done and should go home.

So it looks like we will be stuck with slick Mitt, unless Cain can find an effective way to defeat the Democrat Smear Machine, or if Michele Bachmann can find a way to rise in the polls.  Otherwise, "It's RINO time!"

Herman Cain Being Sunk by Other Republicans, as Well as Democrat Smears

Herman Cain
I think Herman Cain is probably toast for the Republican presidential nomination.  Like others before him, he has been made to swim in a Democrat-made sewer of slime, unproven accusations and bad press.  He might be able to survive that, but I doubt he can survive the Republican onslaught now directed against him.

It seems the supporters of Romney, Gingrich and Perry have joined the Democrats in undermining Cain.  Dan Riehl, of "Get Real, Riehl" has been posting articles heavily criticizing Cain, and other conservative bloggers like Astute Bloggers sound like Democrats while pushing the "sexual harassment" meme.

Lawrence Auster of View From the Right thinks that Cain doesn't have the experience or political skill to be an effective candidate, and this may or may not be true.  However, Auster has defended Cain against the unsourced and unsupported slander from the left.  If Auster is right (and I suspect he is) about Cain's lack of political experience, then Cain might have made a good VP candidate for whoever is nominated as the Republican candidate.

Cain's presence on the ticket would immediately put the lie to the Democrat smear of "racism," and calm the anger from many blacks that will surely surface if Obama is defeated.  Further, it would provide Cain with a means of acquiring more experience and political skill for an eventual run for the presidency.  However, with so many conservatives making the Democrat's argument for them, I don't see that happening now.  I can see the Democrat political ads next year, quoting this Republican or that conservative, denigrating Herman Cain, attacking his qualifications and personal reputation.

What I have liked about Herman Cain is that he isn't a career politician, a slick lawyer in a suit who says one thing when he means another, who talks the talk but in the end is merely an establishment Tweedledum who will do whatever it takes to get favorable editorials from the New York Times and the Washington Post.  Cain has been a breath of fresh air, a counter to "politics as usual."  I also have loved Cain's support of Israel, which mirrors my own:  an attack on Israel should be viewed as an attack on the United States, and will not be tolerated.

So if Cain withdraws, as is the goal of the Democrats and the establishment Republicans, he will take a lot of my enthusiasm with him.  I will still show up on election day and vote the straight Republican ticket, but my nose is getting sore from having to hold it every time I vote.

Former Co-Worker Says Sharon Bialek Used Threats of "Sexual Harassment" When She Didn't Get Her Way

Macranger at Macsworld writes about Sharon Bialek (Cain's latest accuser):
“I remember her as a time-waster, and rabble-rouser. If she didn’t get her way she cried about sexual harassment”. A former co-worker, a female no less, emailed me. “She was trouble with a capital “T”. The fact that she waited 13 years and never said a word not even during Cain’s earlier forays into politics. She only now magically appears because Cain is leading in some polls and proving a threat to Barack Obama?

Witness: Cain Accuser Sharon Bialek Hugged Him at Tea Party Meeting Last Month

There is a news report that Sharon Bialek, Cain's latest sexcapades accuser, hugged Cain at a Tea Party meeting a month ago.  She seemed quite happy to see Cain.  The Chicago Sun Times relates:
They hugged each other backstage in a full embrace like old friends.

She grabbed his arm and whispered in his left ear.

She kept talking as he bent to listen, and he kept saying “Uh, huh. Uh, huh.”

Who Is Cain Accuser Sharon Bialek? Details Here.

Sharon Bialek (L) and Gloria Allred (R)
Cain's latest sexcapades accuser is one Sharon Bialek from Chicago.  There is one Sharon Bialek listed in Chicago, and she is 59 years old.  She has changed addresses several times in the past few years.  Apparently, this Sharon Bialek has also used an alias, if this is the Sharon Bialek in question.

One of my contacts says he thinks the Sharon Bialek in the videos is much younger than 59, but I don't think so.  Hair bleach and makeup can do wonders for older women nowadays. (Per Wikipedia, Gloria Allred is 70 years old but looks much younger.) Also, per Chuck Goudie (discussed below), Bialek's fiancee is one Mark S Harwood of Mundelein, IL.  The only Mark S Harwood listed was born in 1953, making him 58 years of age, so I do believe the 59 year old Sharon described above is the person in question.

Close Up Indicates Bailek Is Not So Young
According to Chuck Goudie at ABClocal.go.com, Bialek has held numerous jobs, had a child out of wedlock and has two personal bankruptcies on her record.  Apparently, Bialek has struggled financially.

Could her recent allegations be motivated by a desire for money?  Or is it merely a desire for attention, her "15 minutes of fame"?  What's in it for Gloria Allred, and who is paying her fees?

Update:  I found a close-up of Bailek with Allred that shows Bailek's heavy makeup and skin lines; in this photo she doesn't look so young.  In fact, she looks like she puts her makeup on with a trowel.

The Hit Job on Herman Cain Continues: Gloria Allred, Slime Merchant, Steps Forward

Another woman, one Sharon Bialek of Chicago, has now come forward to allege that Cain once put the moves on her.   She said no, he stopped immediately, and she wasn't employed at the time.  Therefore, the alleged incident, even if true, does not constitute "sexual harrassment," is a minor, personal matter of no importance, and its only purpose is to embarrass Cain.  Gloria Allred (her last name describes her politics) often represents and introduces "embarrassment" personas to the public in an attempt to damage the campaigns of conservative candidates.  Dirty politics is her game and "All Red" is her name.

Lawrence Auster explains the incident and its lack of importance here.

Blogmocracy describes the media's hypocrisy, double standards and bias here.  The Blogmocracy article tells about Obama's alleged homosexual encounters with two men, although you can be sure Allred will never represent them before the media.

I will though, in a very graphic (Photoshop) kind of way.  Stay tuned.

Why Support the Left Wing Publication "Charlie Hebdo"?

Charlie Hebdo is a very left wing publication and continually insults Christianity and Judaism in very egregious ways. Nevertheless, we should support their right to free speech, as we claim the same right for ourselves.

It is interesting to note, however, that one of the left's most prized ideals -- that of cultural and ethnic diversity -- has come back to haunt them in the Charlie Hebdo flap. Diversity, as it is conceived by the left, is a very bad thing for pluralistic democracies. The only "diversity" that works is one that is rather superficial. "Diversity" that allows in a hostile culture dedicated to opposing our most cherished values is one we should strenuously oppose.

Some of the values we refuse to abandon are these: our opposition to murder and our opposition to ethnic and religious hatred (like anti-semitism). Others include our support for freedom of expression, the equality of women, and democracy.

In this regard, we must thank Charlie Hebdo for providing us with more proof that we are right about Islam: it is an undesirable presence in western civilization. To infect pluralistic and tolerant democracies with an intolerant, hostile and violent ideology makes no sense, and the danger from this ideology will only increase with time.  Let's hope this incident has awakened some on the left.

Europe's Veil of Fear: The Consequences of Islamic Immigration Into the West

Europe, due to its easy immigration policies for Muslims, has become a very dangerous place for many journalists, politicians, cartoonists and Israelis.  Muslims will kill people that criticize their religion, proving (1) that Islamic culture is still primitive and barbaric and (2) that we still need to stand up to these bearded bullies in turbans, to ensure the survival of freedom of expression.

Ynet's article "Europe's Veil of Fear" tell us:
Charlie Hebdo is the latest in a series of "blasphemous pencils" – European cartoonists, writers and journalists threatened with death for their criticism about Islam. They are people who need a level of personal protection unconceivable even in Israel, a country well-known for its attention to security. And it happens all over Europe.
The Charlie Hebdo flap is but the latest in a long line of Islamic atrocities against western civilization, and it won't be the last by any means.

From Ynet, you can read about Europe's current "veil of fear."

So what's the solution?  Easy:
1.  Stop all Islamic immigration into the west
2.  Deport those who are already here

Muhammad Dit: "Vive La Diversité": Charlie Hebdo's Cartoon Revisited (Photoshop)

In Support of Freedom of Expression
I made my own version of Charlie Hebdo's Muhammad.  Hope they don't mind, but I am satirizing the satire!

It reads:  "Muhammad says:  Long live diversity!"

Use it and reuse it as you see fit.

Update:  Charlie Hebdo now has a blog at wordpress:

Ah, diversity!  It's wonderful.  The most happy situation on earth is to surround yourself with people from a different religion, a different culture, a whole different paradigm as to how the world works and why.  The very best situation, if you are an airhead liberal, is to invite in millions of new immigrants who hate your guts and want to take over your country and enforce their barbaric traditions on you as soon as possible.

France is now getting a small clue as to the folly of allowing massive Muslim immigration into their country.  This past week, a French satirical magazine was fire-bombed after it printed some cartoons about the gloriously bloody prophet of Islam, Muhammad, with emphasis on the last three letters of his name.

Now the wonderfully diverse Muslims are threatening to kill people because the magazine, Charlie Hedbo, continues to print and distribute the issue that made them a target of these barbarians.

Here, once again, is the cover of that issue that the Muslims hated so much.  Do post it on your blog or website in solidarity with Charlie Hebdo, and to insist on freedom of expression continuing in western civilization.  If Muslims don't like it, well, that's just too damn bad.

Jesse Ventura is NACHO LIBRE! (Photoshop)

Jesse Ventura has had a long and colorful career, and it isn't over yet.  He has been the Governor of Minnesota, a Navy Seal, a professional wrestler and a 911 "Truther."

Now he's apparently reprising the role once played by Jack Black, the role of "Nacho Libre," the professional wrestler of Mexico!

Miffed because his lawsuit against the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) was thrown out, he has denounced the U.S. as "the Fascist States of America" and says he will apply for citizenship of Mexico, where he will spend a lot more time. He reportedly stated: "I will never stand for a national anthem again. I will turn my back and I will raise a fist." (What a schmuck.)

Ventura has an artificial hip, and was annoyed by the extensive procedures used to check him out every time he boards a commercial airline.  Well, he has a point.  For previously screened people, the TSA procedures need to be streamlined.  I thought they had already done this, but apparently not.

I too sometimes become ticked off at the government, but calling your country the "Fascist States of America" is a bit juvenile, and moving to Mexico?  Be sure to duck when the firing starts, Jesse, and nos vemos, compadre.  If Obama is reelected, I may even join you.  I'm not taking Spanish for nothing, and one third world country is as good as another, I guess.

Will Israeli Air Force Attack Iran?

Israel is practicing long distance attacks from a Nato base in Italy.  Haaretz.com says:
While the media and political sphere is abuzz with news on a potential attack on Iran's nuclear development facilities, the Israel Air Force continues conducting comprehensive drills on long-range attacks.

The last drill of this sort took place last week at the NATO base in Italy, in which six different types of air force squadrons participated. The drill was widely covered on websites around the world that specialize in aviation.
That's got to make Ahmadinejad nervous.  I wonder of the Mahdi will raise from the well, like Spiderman, and rescue the mullahs?

"Occupy Oakland" Sign: "Fight Directly For Communism"

Here's a sign seen at the "Occupy Oakland" demonstrations.  It shows pretty much what the "Occupy" movements are all about.

The fools with the sign want to abolish banks.  We all have our preferences.  Personally, I want to abolish communism.

"Looking at the Left" Has Photo Essay on the "Occupy Denver" Radicals (Photos)

Bring it on Bitches
Stogie Edit
El Marco at "Looking at the Left" has an excellent photo essay on the radicals of the "Occupy Denver" movement.  In his essay,  El Marco shows that the "Occupy" movement is a communist movement that has no legitimate goals beyond ending capitalism.

It is incredible that these unwashed, ignorant fools can't think beyond tomorrow or next week.  So they destroy the corporations and end capitalism...what then?  Where do all the goods come from after that, e.g. the clothing, the food, the housing, the medical care, the computers, the TV sets?   Once these radical idiots smash the means of production, once they steal and use the existing inventories of food and goods, who will produce more?

The answer is  no one.  Then mass starvation sets in, just as it did in Russia and China, where millions starved to death after the communist revolutions there were successful.  Communism = starvation, misery and want.  Communism does not produce a "paradise on earth," it produces hell on earth.

With that in mind, these radical punks should know one thing:  if you start a revolution, we will crush you like the cockroaches that you are.  Do not underestimate our power or our determination:  communism will never prevail in this country.

Charlie Hebdo: French Magazine's Cover Cartoon of Muhammad Draws a Molotov Cocktail

Earlier this week a French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, published an issue naming Muhammad to be its Editor-In-Chief, including a cartoon of the glorious "Prophet" on the cover.  The name of the magazine was temporarily renamed "Charia Hebdo."  (Charia, or Sharia, is Islamic law.)  Muslims in Paris quickly fire-bombed the offices of the magazine, destroying all of its property and equipment.  Charlie Hebdo is fighting back, by printing more of the issue and making it available to anyone who wants to read it.

Below is the cover that the Followers of the Bearded Imposter (also known as Muhmmad) found so obectionable.  It reads in French, "100 lashes if you don't die laughing."  (More outrageous Hebdo covers below the fold.)

Politico's Garbage Journalism: Andrew McCarthy Dissects Jonathan Martin's Biased Reporting on Herman Cain

Lawrence Auster at View From the Right writes:
POLITICO'S GARBAGE JOURNALISM

Andrew McCarthy takes apart Politico's Jonathan Martin for his outrageously partisan and dishonest reporting on (or should I say, his creation of) the Cain sexual "harassment" imbroglio. Partisan, because his record suggests that he would never have published such a damaging yet vague story about a Democrat. Dishonest, because Martin knows who the source of the story is, yet he is withholding that information, while allowing various conflicting charges to fly around which he is in a position to resolve, but which he declines to resolve, by continuing to withhold the truth.

You can read McCarthy's article at this link, and it is a very worthwhile read.

More Violence and Mayhem at "Occupy Oakland"

Here is the report from the Oakland Police Department:

"Oakland Police responded to a late night call that protesters had broken into and occupied a downtown building and set several simultaneous fires," the statement read. "The protesters began hurling rocks, explosives, bottles, and flaming objects at responding officers. Several private and municipal buildings sustained heavy vandalism."

Some photos from Oakland:

Prominent Democrats, including Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi and Barney Frank have encouraged and given moral support to the mobs now destroying property in Oakland and elsewhere.  See video below.

See ARRA site here for more info on Occupy Oakland.

"Occupy Oakland": Property Destruction and Lawless Mayhem

The Morning Examiner reports "Oakland Has Been Occupied":
American flags were burned. ATMs were destroyed. Occupiers were hit by cars as they jaywalked across the street. In other words, Occupy Oakland’s general strike turned into lawless mayhem as anyone with an ounce of common sense would have predicted.

True, the Occupy Oakland general strike was not entirely violent. Throughout most of the day occupiers only terrorized shoppers, destroyed private property, and shut down commerce at the Port of Oakland. The real mayhem didn’t begin until protesters occupied an abandoned building near San Pablo Avenue and 17th Street. The occupiers erected barricades using tires, pallets, and garbage cans and set them on fire when riot police began evicting them from the building. An all-out battle followed with police using tear gas, flash grenades, and bean bag rounds on the occupiers, and the occupiers responding with firecrackers and bottles.

By 12:30 AM, the occupiers had been removed from the building and retreated to their home base at Frank Ogawa Plaza. Despite all the damage and mayhem they have caused, the liberal leaders of Oakland only want to embrace the movement further. The Oakland City Council will take up a resolution today supporting the Occupy encampment and calling on city administrators to “collaborate with protesters.” The resolution is expected to pass over the objection of Council President Larry Reid. “We’ve given up control of the city” to the occupiers, Reid said. “We don’t call the shots anymore – they do.”

THE SOLUTION TO COMMUNIST MOBS

ANY QUESTIONS?

Raise the Black Flag: Take No Prisoners

This Herman Cain thing has me in one of my black moods.

When I get in one of these moods, it's time to pull back a bit and let it pass, lest I say or do something I will later regret.

Our political system sucks.  It doesn't work.  It continually erodes both human freedom and economic prosperity, and I don't see much of a chance of ever turning it around.

The real greed is not with the capitalists, but with the motley mob of malcontents who continually seek to sack Rome and carry off the gold, the goodies and the screaming wenches.  They want what you've got, while doing everything possible to avoid giving you anything of theirs.  Our democracy is only slightly removed from the French Revolution, where hordes of madmen chop off the heads of anyone better off than they are.

Even now, as I write this, the mob has invaded the Port of Oakland, shutting it down while breaking windows and spray-painting graffiti on buildings.  It is time to call in the National Guard, with fixed bayonets, to rid the city of these vermin, as Ronald Reagan once did from the "People's Park" in Berkeley...thinking of these things, I am reminded that civilization is only skin deep and the social fabric of society easily rent...at what point do we have another Civil War?

Men's Rights Online: Reasons for False Charges of "Sexual Harassment"

A website called "Men's Rights Online" discuss reasons why some women file false "sexual harassment" charges against bosses or instructors.  They say:
Incentive
The two main incentives are financial gain and spite, respectively, though the latter option has been used by angry employees who wanted to ruin a rival man's reputation. Attention seeking can be a factor, too.

Victims
Large corporations have been targeted by opportunistic women. Any claim, regardless of how absurd, can take a long time to disprove. The negative publicity associated with a long, drawn-out court case can have a negative impact on the company's standing in the community. For example, a consumer might avoid dealing with the company until all doubt over their guilt has been determined. Not all members of the public accept a court's ruling when a company is cleared of wrongdoing, either. Due to this, quite a few companies have settled out of court because it was less costly than clearing their name. This is the reason opportunistic women have used this ploy.
Read it here.

Update:  Ann Coulter's latest column shows how insane the "sexual harassment" charges were in the 1990's, with huge damages awarded to complaining women for the most absurd reasons.  Read it here.

Update:  Andrew McCarthy at the Corner also describes the hypocrisy and lack of substance in the charges against Cain, and the ambiguity and general stupidity of "sexual harassment" claims.  Read it here.

More Efficient Politics: Hang All the Liberals (Bitter Satire)

The left's attempt to destroy Herman Cain continues apace.  I have long wondered if politics is even worth all the trouble.  We should just ask the military to stage a coup, round up all the liberals and hang one from every telephone pole and street light in the country.  Really, would that be so different from the system we have now?

Then after all the liberals are swaying in the breeze, we could dig up the body of Saul Alinsky and put a wooden stake through his heart.

Since our political system rests on personal destruction of people, why not take that personal destruction up a notch?  Instead of merely ruining a man's reputation, instead of ruining their lives (like Tom DeLay) for political reasons, why not follow the practices to their logical conclusion?  At what point does politics, as "war by other means," become actual war?

Consider the following:
  1. A man or woman runs for office as a conservative in America.
  2. That man or woman starts to become hugely popular.
  3. The Democrats begin to worry that the Republicans might elect the first REAL black president or woman president, upstaging the Democrats in the group-identity politics game.
  4. Democrats hire operatives to investigate every aspect of the candidate's life, with an eye to finding any kind of human misstep, error or factoid that can be used against the candidate.
  5. When something is found -- an ancient DUI conviction, an alleged "sexual harassment" charge, an unpaid bill, the employment of a gardener who, unknown to the candidate, was an illegal alien, a divorce or lawsuit, then bingo!  A weapon for character assassination has been found.
  6. One or more of these ancient peccadilloes is then exploded by the Democrat-loyal mainstream media, analyzed with a microscope, dissected, discussed and condemned in both articles and editorials.  If the candidate doesn't remember all of the details of the incident (and he or she won't), or don't relate the facts with absolute accuracy, the media will then use this to show that, not only is the candidate some immoral wretch, but a liar to boot.
The result of this wretched system is that a good, decent, down-to-earth, non-lawyer everyman like Herman Cain can't be elected in America, where vicious propaganda and personal destruction decide who governs the country.

The system is rigged against us and has been for years.  Meanwhile, I look wistfully on all of those unused telephone poles and street lights.....[SIGH]...does anyone have the telephone number of the Pentagon?

Of course, this post was (somewhat) satirical.  I wouldn't really want to stage a military coup in America.  The red states should just secede from the union instead.

My Busiest Halloween Ever: the Kids Just Kept Coming

I have lived (with my wife) in this house in Hollister, California for over ten years now.  On Halloween, it's my job to answer the doorbell and hand out the candy to the trick-or-treaters.  Last night was my busiest night yet.  The two large bags of candy were almost entirely gone by 9 PM, when we shut off the lights and went to bed.

I love seeing the precious children in their costumes, and I love them one and all!!

Some guy in Chicago has written that Halloweens there are in decline, that he still buys the candy but has a surplus left over when the night is done.  I guess somehow, he sees this as a sign of civilizational decline.   Well, not here in this little cow town where everyone knows everyone else and there is a lot more trust.

The kids just kept on coming and I loved it!
