Innuendo: The Democrat Campaign of Soft Slander

When the Democrats are out of power, they resort to a pervasive campaign of soft slander of Republicans.  This effort generally doesn't accuse any Republican of specific dishonorable acts, it merely implies unsavory connections.  This is soft slander, or innuendo.  Innuendo is defined as an indirect intimation about a person or thing, especially of a disparaging or a derogatory nature.

The idea is for the public to hear the innuendo, and put two and two together to get five.  Let's consider some recent examples.

1.  Lena Dunham, a leftist feminist, actress, screenwriter and producer wrote her autobiography, Not That Kind of Girl.  In her book, she claims she was raped while an undergraduate at Oberlin College.  Her alleged assailant was the lone campus Republican.

What is the connection between rape and Republicans?  There is none, but the implication is that Republicans are scumbags, prone to rape and abuse of women...as in the Democrat propaganda meme, the Republican War on Women.  Republicans have researched Dunham's claim, and have concluded that she had consensual sex with a Democrat.  Dunham merely lied about the encounter being non-consensual, and lied about her partner's political affiliation -- all to portray herself as a victim and add spice and marketability to her book.

2.  Steve Scalise, the House Republican Majority Whip, has been "exposed" as a speaker at a white supremacist conference held in 2002.  The conference was organized by a David Duke ally, one Kenneth Knight.  Therefore, the Democrat media wants you to believe that Scalise is a white supremacist (whatever that is) and a Neo-Nazi.  Newsbusters summarizes the implications of these charges:
Scalise is facing calls for his resignation of his GOP leadership position from the editorial boards of USA Today and the Chicago Tribune, and the scandal about his longtime ties to Duke and Duke’s circles has rocked Scalise, putting his entire political career in jeopardy.
However, Steve Scalise is neither a David Duke supporter, nor a white supremacist, nor a Neo-Nazi.  It has not been demonstrated that Scalise has any "longtime ties to Duke and Duke's circles." The Democrat attempt to paint him as such is another incident of "the politics of personal destruction," a nefarious political program that Democrat strategists have turned into a fine art.

A writer at the liberal website Salon, however, sheds important light on this manufactured controversy.  The hotel conference room where Scalise spoke was not the room reserved for the "white supremacist" group (known as EURO), and the speakers therein spoke on common areas of civic interest.  Scalise spoke on political issues (taxes, not related to race), a Red Cross spokesman spoke on CPR techniques, and a Sheriff's representative spoke on the Neighborhood Watch program.

However, since these talks were given before the EURO conference began, some members of the EURO conference came into the room to listen to the speeches, all of which were unrelated to their conference or political beliefs.  Read more about it here.

Scalise is guilty of nothing.  However, the negative impression has now entered the mainstream media and the public consciousness, where it will germinate negative inferences in the minds of voters.

The Democrat Slander Machine is in full operation, and will poison the well of public opinion with one drop of arsenic at a time.  They are despicable.

Kimberlin Unmasked Is Back Online!

Some good news.  Kimberlin Unmasked is back online!

The proprietors of this website were the focus of Kimberlin's lawfare, along with several other bloggers, and for a time the website was taken offline.  Kimberlin apparently settled with the blog owners, and withdrew his lawsuit against them.  I figured they had caved to Kimberlin's legal extortion, along with two other defendants.  Apparently, this was not the case. (Or maybe it is the case -- see update below -- the blog is under new authorship.)

I don't know why, or how, Kimberlin Unmasked decided to get back into the fray, but I am so glad they did.  KU posts some great satire against Team Kimberlin, creating some funny Photoshop cartoons in the process.

The blog has been re-linked in my sidebar, and I intend to enjoy its output on a regular basis.  Check it out at the link above.

UPDATE:  Apparently, Kimberlin Unmasked is under new management.  Another anonymous blogger has taken over in the absence of the original authors.  He or she was able to grab the twitter account for Kimbelin Unmasked after it was abandoned by the original authors.  He/she was unable to acquire the original website name of KimberlinUnmasked.com, so started the new version under a new URL, namely, kimberlinunmask.com.

The After-Christmas Mindset: Put Away The Ornaments, Time To Get To Work!

Funny, when the clock strikes midnight on the morning of December 26, Christmas ends abruptly.  Now all those candy canes, Christmas lights, Christmas trees, Christmas songs, and various other holiday hoopla seem so passe.  My son, his wife and two dogs left for Los Angeles this morning, and the house seems empty now.  However, I won't complain.  I really enjoyed this Christmas season.

Now the warm fuzzy feelings of holiday cheer are replaced with a more serious focus, getting back to work, defeating progressivism in all its forms, making money, paying bills.  I really need a hard shell case for my string bass, to prevent bumps, scratches and bruises when transporting it to practice.  The case costs around $400, with $200 more for freight, if I buy it online.  However, my bass is worth around $4,000, and I need to protect my investment.

I am looking for new employment for the coming tax season, and have had several interviews, with another one scheduled for Monday.  All seem interested in hiring me, so I just have to pick out the one that suits me best:  paywise, and proximity to home to limit the commute.

I am scheduled for cataract surgery in the middle of January.  Not looking forward to the surgery, but it will be nice to see clearly again.

Christmas Eve

It's the night before Christmas, and all through the house, and all that rot.

Christmas carols are playing on the Cable channel, my cat is begging me for attention and so I can't type.  At least I have wrapped all of my Christmas presents.  It was my best wrapping job ever, thanks to Google and videos on "how to wrap a present."  For once my presents don't look like they were slapped together by a madman.  One of the major tools in accomplishing this is double-back scotch tape.  You can hide the tape between the folds and the package looks much better that way.

My third son is here with his new wife and their two Pomeranian dogs.  Our tradition is to attend a Christmas party in San Jose with family and friends.  There will be lots of food, drink and conversation.  By the time we get home it will be Christmas morning.

We will spend Christmas day watching corny Christmas shows on television, eating, drinking hot cider, coffee or cocoa and being gloriously and decadently lazy.

Hope you have a great Christmas.

Christmas Tree in the Woods with Animated Snow #photoshop

I published this Photoshop last year, on Christmas Eve, 2013.  That didn't give anyone time to copy and post it elsewhere.  However, now that we are almost one year after its initial appearance, it has become my number one visited page.

Here it is again.  Merry Christmas y'all!  Feel free to repost on your website or blog.

For full enjoyment, start the YouTube video below and listen to "O Come All Ye Faithful" while watching the falling snow.

A White Cop Speaks Out On Black Violence

Via Cohen Flaherty, I learned of this blog by a police officer called "Anonymous Cop."  He writes about the inner city where he works as a policeman, and has much experience with the people who live there (black people).  He is a political conservative.

In his latest blog post, Anonymous Cop writes that the greatest enemy of black people is themselves.  See his post From a White Cop: Blacks Fight For an End to All Violence Except Their Own.  He writes:
With exponentially higher abortion and murder rates throughout black communities than any other race, what right do blacks have to imply that anyone values their lives less than they do themselves? In some areas blacks abort more babies than are born and kill each other several times more than any other race. Blacks also murder other races at rate higher than other races murder them. Statistically, it wouldn’t be unfair to say that life in general appears to mean the least to blacks.
I will link to his blog in my left sidebar.  Other bloggers may wish to do the same.

Two Democrat Post-Midterm Strategies: False and Destructive, As Always

The Democrats are seeking to regain political traction after their historic losses in the recent midterm elections.  Two memes are becoming obvious.

One meme is that, omigod, the CIA tortured Islamic terrorists during the Bush Administration.  They fed Ensure to one poor wretch, whose only crime was that he masterminded the 9/11 attacks on New York and the Pentagon.  What horrible torture!  Oh yes, they even waterboarded him and two others.  Shame, shame!

Today they are having congressional hearings about these terrible crimes.  Diane Feinstein is faking outrage at such inhospitable treatment of these poor genocidal terrorists.

What's the purpose of this meme?  To sow shame among Americans and indirectly slam Republicans, since Bush was in power when these horrible sins happened.  Feinstein and Co aren't seeking to apologize to the world for Americans in general, they are seeking to apologize for Republican rule.

The other meme is that blacks are being slaughtered in the streets by racist white cops.  This meme is not only false, it is destructive of social peace, and may help to incite the race war some have warned about.  The latest example is that of idiots wearing T-Shirts that read "I Can't Breathe," referencing the death of Eric Garner who died after being put in a chokehold by police.  Garner's death was tragic, and may have been the result of police error or even incompetence, but it certainly wasn't racially motivated in any way.

Some radical black leaders have promised massive demonstrations all across the US to protest this mythical racism.  If they can make a pretense of civil unrest, they may scare the public into restoring the Democrat Socialists to power.

The real reason for this new "racist" meme is simple:  to keep blacks on the Democrat plantation, which has been increasingly difficult as many realize that Obama's presidency has hurt them badly.

The Final Touch on Midterms: Mary Landrieu Defeated in Louisiana Senate Race!

Today was the runoff election in Louisiana, between incumbent Democrat Mary Landrieu and Republican Challenger Bill Cassidy.  Polls have been predicting a rout for Cassidy over Landrieu, and now it's official:  Cassidy wins by 16 points.  Another Obamacare supporting Democrat has been giving her walking papers, yielding the 54th senate seat to Republicans, nine more than the Democrats hold.

Louisiana voters are said to have been angry at Obama and those who supported him, like much of the rest of the country.  From hero to zero in only six years!

Meanwhile, President Obama checked into the hospital with acid reflux.  Guess the bad news finally got to him.

Bass and Big Band Class Update

Thursday evening my big band class had its final practice for the semester.  The next semester begins January 15.

My note reading skill continues to evolve, and my ear gets better too, as time goes by.  Songs we have been studying lately include Caravan, Blue Monk, Georgia On My Mind and Sing, Sing, Sing.  This is in addition to our songs carried over from last semester, e.g. In The Mood and Pennsylvania 6-5000.  Next semester we will study Corner Pocket, Killer Joe, The More I see You and Don't Get Around Much Anymore.

If you haven't heard of some of these songs, neither had I.  They were popular songs in the 1930s and 1940s and are still used for jazz.  You can find all of them on YouTube, played by various musicians, including the original artists.

The last two songs interest me greatly -- they are called "standards" in musical parlance, which usually means love song ballads -- think Michael Buble or Harry Connick Jr.  Playing jazz versions is called playing "jazz standards."  Jazz standards is what I most aspire to.  These are some of my favorite standards (in addition to the two previously noted):

Fly Me To The Moon
Stardust
Moon Glow
My Funny Valentine
Taking a Chance on Love
Baby It's Cold Outside
Thanks For The Memory
All of Me
Besame Mucho
Quando, Quando, Quando
A Foggy Day In London Town
Fever
Autumn Leaves
Misty
I've Got You Under My Skin

Those are some that immediately come to mind.  There are many more.

After our last practice ended, some of the other musicians told me that "the bass sounds really good," and that made me happy.

During the Christmas break, I hope to continue studying and practicing the song list on my own.  I feel that I am on the verge of a break-through, i.e. that point at which one rises to a new level of performance.

Here's Frank Sinatra singing "Fly Me To The Moon."  He really nails it.

The Death of Eric Garner: Police Negligence and Excessive Force?

Another white cop has been cleared of wrong-doing in the death of a black suspect.  The suspect's name was Eric Garner.  Wikipedia describes his death:
On July 17, 2014, Eric Garner, an African American, died in the Tompkinsville neighborhood of Staten Island, New York, after a police officer put him in a chokehold, a tactic banned by the New York City Police Department (NYPD).[5][6] Garner was initially approached by Officer Justin Damico on suspicion of selling “loosies”, single cigarettes from packs without tax stamps.[7][8] After Garner expressed to the police that he was tired of being harassed and that he was not selling cigarettes, officers made the move to arrest Garner. Officer Daniel Pantaleo, also on scene, put his arms around the much taller Garner's neck, applying a headlock or chokehold shown in a widely viewed video recording of the event.[1] Garner was pronounced dead approximately one hour later at the hospital.[9]
The chokehold may have been a major factor in Garner's death, but Garner was in bad health, and that contributed as well:
After the incident, city medical examiners concluded that Garner was killed by neck compression from the chokehold, along with “the compression of his chest and prone positioning during physical restraint by police”. Contributing factors included bronchial asthma, heart disease, obesity, and hypertensive cardiovascular disease.[10][11] Garner had health issues, including diabetes, sleep apnea and severe asthma.
Eric Garner was no angel.  He had a long record of criminality, most of which appears non-violent:
Garner had been previously arrested and was out on bail for selling untaxed cigarettes, driving without a license, marijuana possession and false personation. Garner had a criminal record that includes more than 30 arrests dating back to 1980 on charges such as assault, resisting arrest, grand larceny. An official said the charges include multiple incidents in which he was arrested for selling unlicensed cigarettes.
Okay, so did Garner deserve the rough treatment that resulted in his death?  I would have to say NO. His attempted arrest was for suspicion of a trivial crime.  The cop who choked him should have seen that the obese and older Garner might have health issues that would endanger his life -- or so it seems to me.  Rough arrests have resulted in deaths of suspects in other cases as well, either by taser or by ignoring serious medical conditions such as asthma or accidental asphyxiation.

Did the cop intend to kill Eric Garner?  I seriously doubt it.  However, the issues seem to be (1) was excessive force used to arrest Garner and (2) was police negligence a major factor in Garner's death?

I would vote for "all of the above," and a civil suit for wrongful death against the NYPD would seem appropriate.  However, the defense could argue contributory negligence.  If Garner had peacefully submitted to arrest, he'd still be alive.

The Causes of Interracial Strife: White Privilege or Black Dysfunction? Two Must-Read Articles

There are two must-read articles today on the causes of interracial strife.

The first is from Colin Flaherty at American Thinker, "Black Crime Claims Life of Apologist for Black Crime."  This past week David Ruenzel, a writer for the infamous Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), was killed in a black Oakland neighborhood.  The SPLC is well-known for its attacks on anyone who is not far-left on the questions of race, immigration and crime.  It is so aggressive that it has often called people's employers and attempted to get them fired for beliefs and opinions not shared by the Southern Poverty Law Center.  Others are merely listed online as racists and bigots, and include prominent conservatives who oppose unlimited third world immigration or report the ongoing atrocities of Muslims.

David Ruenzel was a proponent of "critical race theory" and a critic of "white privilege."  It appears Ruenzel was killed by the people he worked so long and so hard to protect and defend.

The second article is by Fred Reed, "Fergusons In Perpetuity, Thoughts On The Unfixable." Fred's article is brutal in its honest depiction of intelligence differences between blacks and other racial groups.  The IQ gap is significant, and probably explains why blacks regularly destroy their own habitat through riots, looting and burning.  Fred writes:
Two questions, methinks, arise from Ferguson's latest outburst. The first, political, is "Why does the country tolerate it?" The second, more anthropologically interesting, is "Why the eerie incapacity of underclass blacks to understand evidence, or law, or much of anything?" Of the countless explanations given for the poor performance and poor behavior of blacks in the US, one of them dares not speak its name: Low intelligence.
It seems that the lower average IQ of blacks also explains their low impulse control, their lack of empathy for their victims, their inability to foresee the likely consequences of their criminal behavior.

Black Teens Kill White Motorist; St Louis Police Chief Says "Not Racially Motivated"

Robert Mitchell
Zemir Begic, a 32 year old Bosnian in St. Louis, was killed Sunday morning by 3 or 4 black teenagers wielding hammers as weapons.  The attack was completely unprovoked:  it appears that Begic was simply the wrong color -- he was white.

Begic was driving in his car with his wife and aunt when the thugs began beating on his car with hammers, damaging it.  Begic exited the car to find out what was happening, when he was then assaulted by the thugs with hammers.  A blow to Begic's head killed him.

One of the assailants was (allegedly) 17 year old Robert Mitchell, who will be tried for first degree murder as an adult.  Two other suspects will be tried as juveniles.

St. Louis police Chief Sam Dotson spoke with residents at the street protest Sunday night. He said he was sorry about what happened and sought to reassure people the killing did not appear motivated by race or ethnicity.

OF COURSE the crime was motivated by race.  The unfolding tsunami of black teenage crime on the rest of America makes this clear.  This was a hate crime, but hate crimes are never charged against blacks.

St. Louis, Missouri is a great place to stay away from if you are any ethnicity but black.  If you're white or Asian, you are a target of these street savages.  Who needs it?

A Knock-Out Game Death (Video)

Here's a good example of the "knock-out game," now being played by black thugs all over the country and even in Europe.  The idea is cold-cock some unsuspecting white person (or Asian Hispanic, Jew, etc), who is knocked cold for no reason at all.  Well, there is a reason, it allows the perpetrator to get a thrill that he can then brag about to his homies.

Many liberal sources, including the New York Times, is that the knock-out game is a myth.  It is very real.  I just bought Flaherty's book Knock Out Game a Lie?  Aww, Hell No.  The book documents numerous incidents of the knock out game, crushing liberal denial in an avalanche of facts.

Here is a video uploaded by Colin Flaherty.  It shows an elderly man being knocked out in England.  The man later died in the hospital.  The scum who did the deed only got four and a half years in prison.

The face of interracial violence is black.  Enjoy the video. Read the book.

Mike Brown's Stepfather Arrested For Inciting a Riot in Ferguson? UPDATE: Story Is False

Michael Brown's stepfather, Louis Head, has been credited for starting a riot in Ferguson, MO after a Grand Jury refused to indict Officer Darren Wilson. Shortly after the Grand Jury's announcement, Head shouted to the mob of protestors, "Burn this Bitch Down!"

The National Report quotes the Ferguson DA:
“Mr. Head Is Directly Responsible For The Way This Event Panned Out And We Plan On Prosecuting Him To The Fullest Extent Of The Law.” Ferguson County DA, Dan Shaffer.
Read more here.

UPDATE:  The story appears to be false.  However, Lt. Governor Peter Kinder has called for the arrest of Louis Head for incitement to riot.  However, don't hold your breath.

Cop Shootings: Black on White, and the 12 Year Old Kid with a Fake Gun

Were these recent cop shootings racially motivated?

Salt Lake City, Utah
Last August, a black cop shot and killed an unarmed, young white man in Salt Lake City.  The white man, one Dillon Taylor had committed no crime.  However, the black cop, Bron Cruz, had been ordered to the scene due to a call to police about a man "waving a gun."  Taylor and two friends were exiting a 7-11 when confronted by the cop, who ordered the men to put up their hands.

Taylor's blood level alcohol showed that he was intoxicated.  He was listening to music through earphones, and possibly did not hear the order.  For whatever reason, Taylor did not immediately comply.  He withdrew his hands from his waist band to pull up his pants.  At this point, Officer Cruz shot Taylor twice, killing him.  Cruz said he thought Taylor was pulling a gun and that his life was in immediate danger.

It turns out that Taylor was not a threat to Cruz, and that shooting Taylor was unnecessary.  A Grand Jury examined the shooting and declined to indict the officer.

Cops sometimes have to make split-second decisions.  In this case, it was the wrong decision.  However, few white people claim the shooting was racially-based murder.  No white riots occurred.  As for me, I believe the shooting was a tragedy, but not a crime.  The cop may be incompetent, but not a murderer.

Mobile, Alabama
In October 2012, a black cop in Mobile, Alabama shot and killed a white, unarmed teen.  The Washington Times reported:
Gilbert Collar, a white, unarmed 18-year-old under the influence of drugs was shot and killed Oct. 6, 2012, by Officer Trevis Austin, who is black, in Mobile, Alabama. Despite public pressure for an indictment, a Mobile County grand jury refused to bring charges against Officer Austin, concluding that the officer acted in self-defense.
The facts are these:  Collar had taken off his clothes and was running naked through the campus of the University of South Alabama.  He was clearly irrational, under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs.  When he arrived at the campus police station, he begin pounding on the outside windows.  He then began walking towards Officer Austin, who had his gun drawn.  When Collar was still several feet away, Austin shot him in the chest, killing him.

Collar was only 5' 7" and weighed just 135 pounds.  The fact that he was naked ruled out the possibility of a concealed weapon.   He could have been easily overpowered, wrestled to the ground, or stopped with pepper spray and the officer's baton.  Shooting Collar was clearly unnecessary and an excessive use of force.  Again, I blame police incompetence, as well as poor judgment.  Unlike the Ferguson race-baiters, no one suggests it was black racism that motivated the cop.

Cleveland, Ohio
A 12 year old boy, Tamir Rice, apparently black, was playing with a replica pistol when someone called the police about a boy waving a gun.  The police arrived and promptly shot the boy dead.

This was not the first time cops have shot and killed a kid with a toy gun.  The little boy most certainly did not deserve to die.  (See Fox News story here.)  Again, I blame police incompetence.  Unfortunately, the racial component here can be blamed on black violence and crime, particularly among young black men.  The police probably believed the black kid was another gang-banger intent on shooting someone.  They overreacted as a result, and an innocent kid lost his life.

Fighting the Race Fanatics on Twitter

I was involved in a Twitter argument with a group of dumb, brainless college youths last night.  We were arguing about the extent of black crime.  I argued that it is widespread, that blacks' problems are a result of their terrible attitudes and propensity to violence, especially in rioting, robbing and vandalizing stores.

These college twerps remind me of myself at their age.  They want simplistic answers to pressing social problems.  Bias against blacks by other races can only be the result of ignorance, a lack of education, or low intelligence.  When I cited the evidence of crime statistics by race, one of my antagonists, a young, white woman, erupted in obscenities and vulgar insults.  I was not offended.  Her outpouring of bile was evidence that I had damaged her comfortable illusions.

Of course, I was denounced as a racist, a Nazi and a Klan member, as well as a windbag, and a senile old man.  None of these insults stopped me from running my bulldozer of truth over their infantile and uninformed beliefs about race.  I enjoyed their screams of pain, anguish and anger as I did so.

My iPhone battery was running down, so I plugged it in to recharge and went to bed.  Well into the night I was serenaded by the ping-ping-ping of more tweets pouring in.  I ignored them and went to sleep.

I am reading White Girl Bleed A Lot, by Colin Flaherty, and it is shocking.  Black mob violence is substantially more widespread than most people know about.  That's because black wildings are often not reported by either the media or the police.  When mob violence is reported, it is described as groups of teenagers, gang members, youths blowing off steam, and revelers.  They are not described as what they are, mobs of young blacks, both male and female, attacking Whites, Asians and Hispanics at random, beating and robbing them, for fun and frolic.  Sometimes, victims are seriously injured or even killed, by being stabbed, shot or hit over the head.

The thugs know that they will most likely not be stopped or arrested.  These incidents generally happen at public celebrations like the Fourth of July, St. Patrick's Day or state and county fairs.  Major cities where these wildings occur regularly include Philadelphia, Chicago, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Baltimore, Kansas City, Portland, Cleveland and others.  Fairgrounds, beaches, parks, shopping malls and downtown areas are the most common locations.

Very often, flash mobs of young blacks will enter a convenience store and begin stealing everything in sight, carrying out whatever they want.  There are too many to stop and arrest.  They are doing what Michael Brown did in Ferguson, entering, stealing and leaving.  Except that Michael Brown had only one fellow thug with him, not a whole crowd as is the usual practice. [See video of thugs looting the same Ferguson convenience store here.]

Whatever is to be done to stop black wildings (see definition below), the very first step is to admit that the problem exists.  The next step is to publicize it and make people aware of it.  Obviously, the practice of self-censorship about the problem must cease.

wilding2
noun

1.  the practice by a group of youths of going on a random spree of violent criminal activity.
2.  an instance of this.

A List of Videos of Black Wildings, as described in the book Black Girl Bleed A Lot can be found here.

Rich Lowry Gets It Right: Michael Brown Alone Is Responsible For His Own Death

From Politico, Rich Lowry sums up Ferguson and Brown's death in a short article.  He writes:
.... we don't try people for crimes they almost certainly didn't commit just to satisfy a mob that will throw things at the police and burn down local businesses if it doesn't get its way. If the grand jury had given into the pressure from the streets and indicted as an act of appeasement, the mayhem most likely would have only been delayed until the inevitable acquittal in a trial.
Read it all here.

Let's Face It: White Prejudice Against Blacks Is Totally Justified by Black Behavior and Black Attitudes

All my life I have struggled with the question of race.  As a naive college student, I believed blacks were simply white people with dark skin, and there was no substantive reason to be prejudiced against them.  I argued against "racism," berated my Texan relatives for their "primitive" attitudes, and held myself in high esteem for my "enlightened" views.  After all, I had been to college.  I was smart.  I was educated.  Wanna see my diploma?

The O.J. Simpson trial, decision, and black reaction, blew me away. I began to realize that all my assumptions about white-black race relations were bogus.  Blacks really were racist as hell, far more so than white people.  They were incapable of seeing past their own skin color, and completely able to throw any non-black person under the bus to save a black criminal's worthless hide.  No matter what the black criminal's crime, the only thing that mattered was that he was the same color as them.

The events in Ferguson, Missouri further prove that the O.J. debacle was not a one-off aberration.  Blacks are far more violent than any other racial or ethnic group, and for those who wish to survive, it pays to be aware of this fact, and to take precautions.

The black attitude regarding Michael Brown, and Trayvon Martin before that, is that a black person can commit all the violent attacks they want against non-blacks, and are to be automatically and totally exonerated from any wrong-doing.  No matter how violent, destructive and uncivilized blacks may be, any holding them to account is forbidden, is "racist," horribly wrong, shameful and deserving of the highest ostracism from polite society.  Any cop who shoots a black thug should be automatically guilty of murder and thrown to the mob for dismemberment.

Well screw polite society.  It is time to tell the truth about widespread black dysfunction and violence, and to put the blame where it belongs:  on blacks themselves.  Furthermore, it is time to eradicate the social barriers to discussing this truth publicly and to end ostracism of the truth-tellers.  Our civilization depends on it.

Black Mob Violence Now a Sickness
By Colin Flaherty

Postscript:  I just purchased the Kindle version of Colin Flaherty's book, White Girl Bleed A Lot.  The book describes widespread, recent black mob violence across the country, where blacks attack whites, Asians and other non-blacks in a seemingly endless orgy of violence, robbery and vandalism.  These incidents are hidden by the major media, and also are often hidden by the police.

Justice Wins: No Indictment for Officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson

The Grand Jury voted not to indict Darren Wilson for saving his own life from a rampaging cretin (Michael Brown).  The cretin's extended family then began burning down Ferguson and looting stores.  The only question is:  why weren't the looters shot dead in the act?  In days of old, looters were shot, and this dampened enthusiasm for it considerably.

My overall disgust with the black population has never been higher than it is today.  There is a large question in my mind as to whether their contribution to civilization is a net positive or a net negative.  I am leaning towards the latter.  Prejudice against blacks derives from blacks' bad behavior and bad attitudes, not to mention their raging racism against whites and everyone else.

Overall, blacks are the biggest bunch of fuck-ups on the planet:  over-pampered, over-apologized to, over rationalized, over excused.  Overall, I say.  There are always exceptions.

Some black witnesses to the Brown shooting told the truth to the Grand Jury about what happened.  They chose truth and justice over skin color.  They were responsible, part of the mortar holding the bricks of civilization together.  I wish there were more blacks like this.  Unfortunately, they are a minority within a minority.

Ferguson Decision Tonight?

The Grand Jury of Ferguson, Missouri has reached a decision:  to indict or not indict officer Darren Wilson on murder charges for shooting Michael Brown.  They are supposed to have a press conference at 5:30 PM, according to the Washington Post, when their decision will be announced.

It would be a real travesty of justice if an innocent cop, acting in self-defense, were indicted for "murder," for shooting a violent assailant.  However, in this country today, skin color trumps justice.  One may not shoot a member of the Sacred Other, no matter what the reason.  Like George Zimmerman, Wilson should just have accepted his fate in the name of civil rights, or diversity, or whatever.

It will be interesting to see the outcome of all this.  Ferguson white people, keep your powder dry.

The Reagan and Bush Executive Orders: Not Remotely Comparable to Obama's Overreach

The Democrats have trotted out Alinsky's Rule for Radicals No. 4, in an effort to fend off legitimate outrage over Obama's usurpation of power on immigration.  Rule No 4 is "hoist them on their own petard," or accuse your enemy of doing the same thing they are criticizing in you.

So, the arguments are out that both Reagan and Bush used executive orders to establish immigration policy, and Obama is only doing the same thing that they did.  However, their argument is a lie (what else is new?).

There is a proper use of executive orders, to tweak existing legislation in order to implement the wishes of Congress.  That's because small tweaks are easier to implement by executive orders than to run the whole legislation back through both houses of Congress to correct small errors or ambiguities. Both Reagan and Bush used executive orders properly in this regard -- with the knowledge and consent of Congress, to tweak legislation already passed.  Unlike Obama, they did not misuse executive action in the place of legislation, as an end-run around Congress, to install sweeping new laws by the dictate of a totalitarian.

David Frum has more details on the Reagan/Bush executive orders in his article "Reagan and Bush Offer No Precedent for Obama's Executive Order."  Read it at this link.

Don't be fooled by the Alinskyites in their efforts to justify fascism.

Surrounded by Villains -- Nothing New

Ah, it is a dark and rainy day here in Hollister.  Great weather for reflection.

I see we are again surrounded by villains, and yet it seems so commonplace nowadays, that I can hardly write anything new about them.  Nevertheless, one must try.

Barack Obama, the most lawless president in the past 100 years, is planning to grant amnesty to millions of illegal aliens tomorrow.  He will do it by decree, rather than a vote of Congress.

The purpose of this is, of course, to further the Democrat project of population replacement.  White people, on the whole, do not vote for socialists.  The Dems seek a permanent majority of voters, so they can complete paving the way to Hell.  That, and the fact that Dems hate white people and wish to punish them, is what motivates the neo-Bolsheviks.

Obama is a far-left ideologue who is wedded to his dogma and doesn't care who approves and who doesn't.  My disgust with the little man could not be greater than it is.  He should be impeached.  Maybe it wouldn't pass the Senate, but it would be worth the effort in any case.  Obama is a rogue president who is deliberately undermining the nation on several fronts.  He should be stopped, and held to account.

The sub-human scum known as "Palestinians" murdered four rabbis in a Jerusalem synagogue the other day.  Fellow sub-humans then celebrated in the streets, passing out candy, rejoicing in murder.  If I were president, I would try to end all foreign aid to the Palestinians, and would then invite the Israelis to take whatever land they wished, build whatever settlements that wanted, and bulldoze the "Dome of the Rock" mosque off the Temple Mount.  Then, rebuild the Temple in its entirety.

Of course, not all "Palestinians" are sub-human, murdering scum.  Only about 98% are, yet they make a bad name for all the rest.  See my earlier essay on the Palestinians-are-scum here.  Alas, the victims may change, but the basic story remains the same.

Ferguson Anti-White Thugs are busily readying themselves for their next riot, in the event the Ferguson Grand Jury cannot be intimidated into indicting an innocent cop for defending his own life. A lot of low-lifes there are promising to attack whites and white businesses unless Officer Wilson is indicted for murder.  It's time this low-life sub-human residue learn that we whites are not afraid of them, are totally fed up with them, and quite determined to slap them down, hard, as the situation may require.

Long-Time Conservative Blogger Needs Help: "Always On Watch." Please help!

Always on Watch is a conservative blog that has been around for some time, and always a friend to me and many other bloggers.  Mrs. AOW is a home school teacher in Virginia and one of the most elegant and classy ladies in the conservative blogosphere.   A few years back her husband suffered a serious stroke, and Mrs. AOW was put through a very difficult and trying period, caring for her husband through recovery and rehabilitation, all while carrying on her home school teaching business.  It took Herculean effort on her part, but she did it.

Now Mr. & Mrs. AOW are going through a string of bad luck and could use some financial help:  Mr. AOW's special hospital bed is broke and needs fixing or replacement; the furnace just went out in very cold weather, the water heater may be next, and the car's brakes are worn out.  Meanwhile, there is an electrical problem in the house wiring that could cause a fire if not fixed. Finally, due to the Medicare doughnut hole, a prescription that usually costs $24 now costs $648.  And you thought you had problems!

We all need help now and then.  I have been on both the receiving end and the giving end, but now it's AOW's turn to receive in this holiday season.  I am "paying it forward."  As I once was helped by fellow bloggers, I now gladly help another whose need is great.  Join me in this effort.  Be a hero to a fellow blogger, a comrade in arms, an ally, a kindred spirit.

You can read about AOW's troubles at this link.  Scroll down the page and you will find her tip jar in the right sidebar.

I just contributed $50.  Please contribute $5, $10, $25, $50 or whatever you can afford.

Please repost this on your own blog as well.  Spread the word.

Lucky October

October was an especially lucky month for me.  My long favorite team, the San Francisco Giants, won the World Series in a hard-fought, seven game matchup against a powerful team.  I interviewed for a temporary assignment as the stand-in Director of Finance for the Monterey chapter of a large, national non-profit organization.  I was the only one interviewed, and was offered the job, which I accepted. Then, one day after October ended, my youngest son was married in Corona, (Southern) California.  Three days later, the Republican wave occurred, sweeping the despised Democrats out of office all across the nation, to my great satisfaction.

The Director of Finance job is quite challenging.  It is temporary, as I am a fill-in for the vacant position until a permanent replacement can be found.  I don't accept permanent jobs, as I am supposed to be retired.  I like working during the tax season, but like sleeping in the remaining nine months of the year.  Right now I have to leave the house at 6 AM in order to arrive by 8 AM, and have been reintroduced to the joys of commuting through heavy traffic.

The job is in Monterey, California, one of my favorite towns.  It is a very scenic town on the coast, and I see ocean waves breaking on beaches as I commute to work in the morning.  Lately, traffic has been terrible due to road construction, and it takes more than an hour to get to work, and just as long to return home in the evenings.  I hope to make some extra income, as I need it for some dental bills and for a new acoustic bass amplifier that I plan to buy.

I don't know how long the job will last.  Maybe one, two or three months.  Then I'll find another one, if I so desire.  If I do good work on the current job, more will be easier to get.

My new daughter-in-law is Korean.  She was born in South Korea.  Her parents, very nice people, do not speak English with great fluency.  Her mom wore a traditional Korean dress to the wedding, and looked quite fetching in it:  a red blouse with a long black skirt.  She is anxious for the wedding to bear fruit:  she wants grandchildren.  We are on the same page.

A Wave of Sanity Across America!

"Progressive" politics don't work, if your goal is prosperity, individual freedom and efficient, effective government.  Poverty, joblessness, and the deterioration of our military is its chief results.

The 2014 midterm elections are a wave of sanity after six years of ruinous, terrible policies.  Today I will savor the victory.

Here in California, the insane are still in control, and doing all they can to make the state job-free and keep prosperity in retreat.  Governor Moonbeam was reelected by a large majority.  Here in San Benito County the Neo-Luddites passed a law banning fracking in the county.  Gotta keep those gas prices as high as possible.  Energy is the enemy.

If I were a younger man, I'd move out of here, probably relocate to Texas.  However, due to family ties, I'm stuck.  Nevertheless, I rejoice in the greatest Republican victory in my life time.  Suffer, you leftist bastards!

Just Got Back From My Son's Wedding

Wifey and I were in Los Angeles for the past few days.  Our son got married on November 1, and it was a joyous and fun occasion.  I have a new daughter in law, and she is special.

Thank God I'm home.  The traffic in LA was as terrible as ever.

SF Giants Win 2014 World Series In Seventh Game! Royals Go Down Swinging. #WorldSeries #SFGiants #Royals

Madison Bumgarner,
Greatest Pitcher Ever?
It took seven games, but the San Francisco Giants finally squeaked to victory in Game 7, winning 3-2 over the Kansas City Royals.  The Giants lost three games in this World Series, mainly because their pitching collapsed.  The Royals batters must have intimidated most of the Giants better pitchers, because those pitchers fell apart early, allowing the Royals to score many runs.  Tonight pitcher Tim Hudson disintegrated early, was replaced late in the second inning by Jeremy Affeldt who did a creditable job, until Madison Bumgarner took over pitching in the 5th.

When Bumgarner took over, the score was 3-2, Giants.  Bum kept it that way through five innings of shut-out baseball, allowing the Giants to win their third World Series in five years, and their eighth World Series in franchise history.  The Fox News announcers opined that the Giants are now a baseball dynasty, and have earned a place in sports history.  They also raved about Madison Bumgarner, who they say is one of the best pitchers to ever play the game.

The loss has to be tough to swallow for Kansas City fans.  Their team fought its way down a very long, hard road to reach the 7th game of the World Series, only to lose it all by one run.  The Royals are a fantastic team in my opinion, and I admire and respect them.  I would like to see them win a World Series soon, just not against the Giants.

The Royals last won a World Series 29 seasons ago, in 1985.  I know how that long drought feels.  Before 2010, the Giants had not won a World Series since 1954 -- a wait of 56 years.  I doubt that the Royals will have to wait that long.  They are too good of a team.

Royals Humiliate Giants in Game 6; Final Game of 2014 World Series Tonight #worldseries, #SFGiants #Royals

Back on their home turf and surrounded by dedicated, cheering fans, the Kansas City Royals looked like sure winners on Tuesday night.  They ran up a score of 10-Zip before the final out.

The major cause of their victory, however, was a dismal pitching performance by SF Giant Jake Peavy, the worst of his career (or so say the pundits).  He did terrible in Game 2 as well, for the same reason:  walking batters, loading the bases, then allowing singles and doubles to bring in the runs.

Why Manager Bruce Bochy started Peavy is odd, considering the Game 2 fiasco.  In Game 6, Peavy was pulled after 2 innings.  His replacements were not much better, allowing hits (but fewer walks), and the infield made some dubious defensive plays that allowed runners to reach base.  So Peavy was not the only problem, the entire Giants roster was lackluster.

The Royals started a young pitcher from the Dominican Republic who throws 98 MPH fastballs, and his pitching frustrated Giants batters.  The long and short of it is that the Giants crashed and burned, all to the staccato of Royals bats, who began to sound like a Japanese drum troupe as they laid down a barrage of singles, doubles and one home run.

An announcer stated that of the last World Series ten teams who were 3-2 but lost the 6th game, eight were defeated and only two survived the 7th game.  So it appears statistically probable that the Royals will win their second World Series ever this evening.  They last won in 1985.

I am hoping that the Giants will rally to win Game 7, but if I were a betting man, my money would be on the Royals.  Prove me wrong, Giants, puh-leeze.

Reflections of a Giants Fan: The World Series 2014; Hunter Pence, Hero #worldseries, #SFGiants

Hunter Pence

I've been following the major league baseball playoffs with interest this year.  My favorite team is the San Francisco Giants, because I live in the Bay Area and associate the team with home and family.  The last thing I ever did with my father, the week he died, was to watch the Giants play the Cardinals one Sunday afternoon.  The Giants won 2-0.

The San Francisco Giants are trying for their third Wold Series Win, though it will be the 8th World Series win for the franchise, if it happens.  The Giants won five World Series as the New York Giants, and have appeared in the World Series 20 times, which includes 2014.  The Giants beat the New York Yankees twice, in the World Series of 1921 and 1922.

The Giants won the World Series in 1905, 1921, 1922, 1933, 1954, 2010 and 2012.  Baseball is an American tradition dating back more than a century.  It is very American, and it is very special.

Last night I watched the 4th game of the 2014 World Series, and when the Royals went ahead 4-1 in the 4th inning, I feared the Giants were doomed.  The Royals appeared on their way to their third win of the series, which would put the Giants' backs against the wall.  However, the Giants rallied with a flurry of hits in the 5th, 6th and the 7th, and ran up the score to 11-4, holding on to it until the game ended.  The series is now tied at two games each.  The team that wins 4 games out of a possible 7 will win the series (duh).

This series is evenly matched.  Both the Royals and the Giants make heroic hits, impossible saves, pinpoint throws and precision teamwork, with a never-say-die determination that makes each game wild and exciting.

For my money, Giants outfielder Hunter Pence is the hero of the Giants' efforts this year.  Early in Game 4, he stole 2nd base, then stole 3rd base, and finally got home to score the first run of the game.  He was determined that the Giants should score first.  Pence is from Texas.  That makes him doubly likable in  my book.  My father was from Texas, too.

UPDATE:  In Game 5 tonight, Madison Bumgarner, the ace picture of the Giants, threw a nine inning shutout of the Royals, leading the Giants to a 5-0 win and a lead in the series of 3 games to 2.  Game 6 and 7 (if needed) will be played in Kansas City on Tuesday and Wednesday this week.  The Royals need to win both those games to win the World Series; the Giants have to win only one more game to win the World Series.  The energy and momentum of the Giants makes it clear that the Royals have their work cut out for them.

FERGUSON T-SHIRTS FOR THE FAITHFUL - Buy One For The Next Riot #Ferguson #NoJusticeNoPeace

Stogie, Ltd. wishes to express solidarity with the righteous bruthas of Ferguson, Missouri, as they plot and plan their next riot for righteousness.  This event is expected to occur once the Grand Jury refuses to indict Officer Darren Wilson.  As everyone knows, the curr Wilson shot a black brutha simply because that brutha had dark skin, and oh yeah, attacked Wilson, beating him in the face while trying to take his gun, and then charging Wilson with apparent intent to do bodily harm. Details, details.

We can no longer allow such blatant racism to continue in Ferguson, Missouri!

Stogie, Ltd. announces a new T-shirt for rioting black bruthas everywhere.

The new white T shirt bears the new international peace symbol.  This symbol has successively diminishing concentric rings of crimson, symbolizing harmonic convergence of karmic cosmology on a field of white, for purity.  Wear it to your next riot to identify yourself to your bruthas and sistas, while striking fear into the police and owners of shops and convenience stores.

We feel certain that if the Ferguson Righteous Rioters wear this T-shirt to the next riot, the event will prove to be a huge success for peace and justice.

Price:  $500 per T-shirt, large only.  Contact our marketing director.

Radical Muslims Are The Islamic Majority: Ben Shapiro Explains (Video)

The case for massive deportations of Muslims from the west continues to grow.

A "No Indictment" for Officer Darren Wilson Appears Likely

An article in the New York Times has revealed that Officer Wilson reasonably feared for his life when he shot Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri two months ago.  Wilson said that Brown had pinned him in his police car and reached for Wilson's gun.  The gun was fired twice in the car (by whom is not clear), hitting Brown in the arm and the second shot missed.  Brown's blood on the gun and on the door panel of Wilson's car corroborates this.

The Times article made a big point out of saying that Wilson's version of events were different from those of Brown's partner-in-crime, Dorian Johnson, a thug with a record of lying to the police, and Brown's accomplice in the robbing of a convenience store just before Brown was shot.  The Times refers to Johnson as "Mr. Johnson," and treats his dubious version of events as credible.

Now the Black underclass in Ferguson are promising that "the whole country will burn" if Wilson is not indicted.  Of course, that's just a lot of bravado and braggadocio from ghetto trash.  For their sake, I do hope they are wrong.  I personally am quite fed up with the Black population's crime rate, anti-white racism, and extortionate threats of violence unless justice is perverted to favor their hatreds and delusions.

And I am armed.

Do Liberals Want You To Die?

I'm not big on conspiracy theories, and usually delight in puncturing them with facts and logic.  However, there is one conspiracy theory that may have some truth in it.  It is the theory that liberals desire a much smaller global population (true) and are willing to starve, abort and ebola-ize people to get it.

The "Climate Change" hoax has advocated draconian governmental intervention into the world economy.  Denying electricity and carbon based fuels to impoverished third world countries would, some say, result in widespread starvation.  Through-the-roof energy prices also cripple an economy, reducing more people to poverty.  Abortion, of course, eliminates millions of potential human beings, and keeps population numbers lower than they otherwise would be.

I have often wondered why the leftist intelligentsia cannot see the human misery that their policies cause -- do they want humanity to be impoverished?  No,  They want humanity to be substantially reduced.  Some fear that the Ebola threat will be used to accomplish this end.

Below are some quotes from leftists who see humanity itself as "the enemy."

“A total world population of 250-300 million people, a 95% decline from present levels, would be ideal.” Ted Turner, in an interview with Audubon magazine

“There is a single theme behind all our work–we must reduce population levels. Either governments do it our way, through nice clean methods, or they will get the kinds of mess that we have in El Salvador, or in Iran or in Beirut. Population is a political problem. Once population is out of control, it requires authoritarian government, even fascism, to reduce it….”“Our program in El Salvador didn’t work. The infrastructure was not there to support it. There were just too goddamned many people…. To really reduce population, quickly, you have to pull all the males into the fighting and you have to kill significant numbers of fertile age females….” “The quickest way to reduce population is through famine, like in Africa, or through disease like the Black Death….” Thomas Ferguson, State Department Office of Population Affairs

“In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill…. But in designating them as the enemy, we fall into the trap of mistaking symptoms for causes. All these dangers are caused by human intervention and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy, then, is humanity itself.” Alexander King, Bertrand Schneider – Founder and Secretary, respectively, The Club of Rome, The First Global Revolution, pgs 104-105, 1991

“A cancer is an uncontrolled multiplication of cells; the population explosion is an uncontrolled multiplication of people…. We must shift our efforts from the treatment of the symptoms to the cutting out of the cancer. The operation will demand many apparently brutal and heartless decisions.” Stanford Professor ” Paul Ehrlich in The Population Bomb

Quotes are reprinted from "Before Its News."

Rush Limbaugh Is IGNORANT of American History and the Civil War; My Rebuttal

Rush Limbaugh really showed his ignorance of American history and the Civil War today.  He voiced some feel-good myths that are easily refuted, and should be.

Here are his statements and my correction:

1.  The Founding Fathers only allowed slavery at the formation of the United States to appease the Southern states and encourage them to join the union.  The Northern states opposed slavery and hated it and wanted to get rid of it.

Horse feathers.  MOST of the Founding Fathers were slave owners or slave traders, including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison and Patrick Henry.   Of the 55 men at the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention of 1777, no less than 30 were slave owners.

Twelve of the thirteen original colonies were slave states.  There was no significant opposition to slavery by the Northern states.  In fact, the Northern states were enthusiastically getting rich through slave trading.  For every slave they sold to the South, they sold 20 more to Cuba, Brazil and the West Indies.  Massachusetts, that great bastion of abolitionism, enslaved the Pequot Indians and sold them into slavery outside the continent.  Rhode Island built and maintained an impressive fleet of ships designed and used specifically for slave trading.  Northern textile mills used Southern cotton, planted and harvested by slaves, without any moral objections whatsoever.

Slaves were used in the North just as long as they were needed, and were then sold to the South once immigrants (like the Irish) were plentiful enough to replace slavery.

2.  Fifty thousand soldiers died in the Civil War to abolish slavery.  Not even close, Rush.  Over 600,000 soldiers died in the Civil War (estimates put the number at around 640,000).  At least 300,000 were Union soldiers. They did not fight to free the slaves, they fought to force the South back into a political union that they no longer wanted, for the usual reasons:  to maintain the ability to tax and rule.  For more details, see the scholarly essay by a university professor who actually knows what he is talking about:  Why the Civil War Was Not About Slavery, by Donald Livingston, Emory University.  The "fighting to free the slaves" myth was created after the war to give a false veneer of righteousness to Northern aggression.

So Rush, as someone who listens to you regularly, I must advise you to SHUT UP with regard to the Civil War and the Southern states, since you are wrong on the facts, and since you are alienating many Americans who are Confederate descendants, many of whom are conservatives.

BY THE WAY, Rush, I have defended you against liberal attacks on several occasions.  But when you are wrong, I will refute you.

Taking Stock: the World According to Stogie

Fall Weather and Flapping Duck Wings
I like to spend the morning sitting in my canvas-top gazebo, drinking coffee, reading the news on my laptop, and enjoying the fall weather.  This morning I saw two large V formations of ducks flying overhead, quacking happily amid a sea of flapping wings.  It was such a lovely fall scene.

Wifey has begun harvesting our persimmons, which are ripening earlier than usual.

Marriage and Merriment
Our youngest son is getting married on November 1st, in Los Angeles.  We are happy for him, and getting ready for the trek South to see him, his bride, his new in-laws, and many relatives and mutual friends.  This week I bought a new dark blue pinstripe suit for the wedding, which will also serve me well in the tax season.

Bay Area Sports
Professional sports are a small item in the Great Scheme of Things.  I won't lose any sleep if the San Francisco Giants baseball team loses to the St. Louis Cardinals, nor if the San Francisco Forty-Niners lose the rest of their football games.  Nevertheless, I really enjoyed seeing (hearing, rather) the Giants beat the Cardinals 5-4 in ten innings last night.  On Monday, I enjoyed seeing the Forty-Niners stomp the St. Louis Rams.  Nothing personal, St. Louis, and I wish you well otherwise.

Islam Sucks and So Do Liberals
Since Islam is one of the greatest evils that western civilization has ever faced, naturally liberals love it, defend it, rationalize for it, and want more of it.  Fortunately, the American public is becoming more aware of just how awful Islam really is, and are less and less tolerant of its hostility to western values, like the right to be a non-Muslim and still keep your head.  I suspect that the public's tolerance of Islamic intolerance will diminish as Islamic atrocities increase within our borders.  And they will.

The Natives Are Restless in Ferguson, Missouri.  Oh was that racist?  Tough shit.  This week a crowd of blacks in Ferguson expressed their racial hatred of white cops by harassing shoppers in a mall, demanding "Justice,"  By "justice," they mean that white officers who shoot attacking black thugs are to be prosecuted regardless of a lack of evidence that they did anything wrong.  The New Black Panthers (who are more skunk than panther) are demanding the murder, not only of police officers, but of white people in general.  Note to Black Skunk leader:  we are armed, and we shoot back.  Further, there are a lot more of us than there are of you, and we are quite fed up with your bullshit.  Don't push it.

I understand that they are still investigating the shooting of Michael Brown in Ferguson, and have not yet reached any decision to indict and prosecute police officer Wilson.  I wish they would hurry up and come to a conclusion.  If it is to not indict, some black leaders have sworn to riot and rampage in protest.  Others blacks are pissed that the Ferguson stores that they burned down have not yet been rebuilt so they can shop locally.  They are vowing to riot again if the stores are not rebuilt.  Not sure what they are going to burn down next, however.

If I lived in Ferguson or St. Louis, I would definitely arm myself with a pistol and a shotgun, and practice shooting at a shooting range.  As a matter of fact, I should put that on my to-do list, even though I live elsewhere.  You should too.

All three of my sons are well armed and know how to use their firearms.  I raised those boys right.

Playing Bass: A Moment of Personal Satisfaction

I played well at my last big band practice of last Thursday.  I finally have my amplification problem solved, and I have plenty of volume, great tone, and no feedback.  I was the first one to arrive, and had my bass all tuned up and ready to go by the time the bandleader arrived.  Faris, the bandleader, started playing jazz standards on the piano while the rest of the band was arriving.  He played "Brother Can You Spare a Dime," a depression-era song.  The chord progression was easily discernible, and I joined in on bass.  I could tell he was pleased with the result.

Now that the band can actually hear the bass, they seem to like it.  After the practice, one of the trumpet players told me "I really like the bass!"

As I departed for home after practice, I felt I had turned a corner, that my musical goals were becoming a reality.  It was a great feeling.

Obama's Latest Failure: Bombing Campaign of ISIS Fails.

Obama's plan to stop the aggression of the Islamic State terrorists with bombs only, no boots on the ground, has failed miserably.  ISIS is now expanding its reach into Syria and Iraq.  Obama's presidency is one giant, unfolding failure.  The U.K. Independent reports:
America's plans to fight Islamic State are in ruins as the militant group's fighters come close to capturing Kobani and have inflicted a heavy defeat on the Iraqi army west of Baghdad. The US-led air attacks launched against Islamic State (also known as Isis) on 8 August in Iraq and 23 September in Syria have not worked. President Obama's plan to "degrade and destroy" Islamic State has not even begun to achieve success. In both Syria and Iraq, Isis is expanding its control rather than contracting.
Obama's reign has shown a spotlight on a profound truth:  liberal policies are miserable failures when applied to either the economy or foreign policy.  They don't work.  They never work.  They make things worse.

Where will we be in two more years?  It is a frightening thought.

Ben Afflack's Ignorance of Islam

Recently, Ben Afflack had an outburst in defense of Islam on HBO's Real Time.   He showed just how clueless and illogical are liberal ideas on the world's most violent religion.

Read all about it here, plus a stirring rebuttal of Afflack's delusional apologetics.

Bananas for Big Band Bass

Lately I am obsessed with learning to play jazz on a double bass (also called string bass, stand-up bass or acoustic bass).  I give not a scatological expression for anything else.  I get on these kicks, where I want to learn as much as I can as quickly as I can, about a subject that interests me.  So I listen to jazz music, paying particular attention to the bass, I read articles on how to play jazz bass, I play exercises, I read musical scores, and I play along to backing tracks.  Lately I have even used a free musical notation program to write my own bass lines from the chord sequence of a song, e.g. "Blue Monk."

Today I finally understand what a 1-6-2-5 chord progression is.  There are many other chord progressions with similarly strange numeric descriptions.  The 1-6-2-5 is used in basic blues progressions known as "rhythm changes," in such songs as "I Got Rhythm."

In other words, when it comes to double bass, I am attacking on all fronts simultaneously.

Ultimately, after digesting a ton of music theory, you have to actually sound good.  So lately I have emphasized playing to backing tracks or the recordings of actual songs.  I don't want to just ad lib, I want to play the chord sequences in clever but accurate ways.  Sounding great on bass is the one overriding goal.  All the rest of it, i.e. the theory, just supports that goal.

I am in my second semester of Beginning Big Band class.  The band leader is a gigging jazz trombonist who really knows jazz and swing, and he is leaning on me to improve (he seems to like me, though).  He is always telling the brass section to "Listen to the bass!  Listen to the bass!"  The bass lays down the rhythm and chord changes that keeps the rest of the band on track.  If I screw up, the whole band can get lost, especially the soloists.  That's a lot of pressure on me not to screw up (i.e. losing my place in the song's bar sequence).

I have learned a lot in the past few months, but there is so much more to learn.

Vintage Babe Mitzi Gaynor in "Anything Goes," 1956

Mitzi Gaynor
Last night I watched "Anything Goes" for free on Google, a musical comedy made in 1956.  It starred Bing Crosby, Donald O'Connor, Mitzi Gaynor, Zizi Jeanmaire and Phil Harris.  The film was in gorgeous technicolor and appeared unfaded by the passage of 58 years.  Maybe they restored it, I don't know.

Most impressive was Mitzi Gaynor.  She was one very gorgeous young woman, and she is still alive in 2014, now age 83.  I was impressed with her uniquely beautiful face, her voice, and most of all, her sizzling hot legs.  Pardon me while I howl.

Zizi Jeanmaire was a ballet dancer and French actress.  She was okay, but I was not blown away.  She is still alive at age 90.

Unfortunately, the great Bing Crosby and the talented Donald O'Connor are no longer with us.

1956 is one of my favorite years.  Yes, I remember it, though I was only 11 years old.  The musicals of that time generally had a lot of sophomoric slapstick humor that wasn't funny, and "Anything Goes" was no exception.  There was usually a dream sequence, where one of the dancing artists pranced and danced around the stage, insulting our intelligence more than entertaining us.  Zizi Jeanmaire gets the task in this film, and the number was awful. The ending dance number featured all the stars and a troop of dancers, all dressed in unisex black, tight fitting suits, each one with a black derby with white wings on the crown, like the god Mercury.  The men looked silly and the women about as sexy as a drain pipe.  What on earth were they thinking?

Mitzi "Legs" Gaynor
In spite of the silliness, the four stars did a credible job of acting. The best song and dance number was the opening one, with Mitzi Gaynor dancing and singing the song "Anything Goes."  The rest are forgettable.

One of the best aspects of the film, for me, was the fashions of 1956.  Men in suits and ties, fedora hats.  Donald O'Connor looked quite spiffy in a powder blue sweater over his shirt and tie.  The ladies' fashions were generally beautiful, especially the decolletage of the lovely Mitzi Gaynor.

Writer's Block: What I Would Say If I Didn't Have It.

I haven't written for several days.  Sometimes I just don't have much to say.  But if I did, here is what I would say:

Islam -- With the advent of ISIS and beheadings occurring within the United States, people seem increasingly aware of the evil and violent nature of this terrible religion.  It should be banned from all western countries and its adherents deported.  If we are going to allow Islam in the USA, we might as well allow cannibalism and human sacrifice.  The last two items are no more shocking than the practices of Islam.  Related Post at Right Truth:  At War With Islam.

Obama -- His glaring incompetence has become so acute that even liberal newspapers and pundits are criticizing him.  Will this spell a Republican victory in the November midterms?  It's hard to say.  Never bet on the intelligence of the average voter.

Rush Limbaugh -- It has come to light that Media Matters and a few fascist Democrat activists have been running a scam to scare away advertisers on Limbaugh's radio program.  They are using automatic Twitter feeds to target Rush's advertisers, trying to make their suppression of alternate views seem like a grass roots movement.  Typical of the left:  they cannot win an honest debate, so try to silence or slime the opposition in any way possible.  Truly, "politics is war by other means," and the Democrats are high practitioners of the art.

California's Drought -- Here in California, we go through droughts fairly regularly.  Finally, the rain will start again and we'll get drenched.  The current drought, however, is particularly long-lasting.  Sunny California and all that.  Yes, too much sun is not a good thing.  We need the wet stuff.  If we don't get it soon, water rationing will begin.  Today the sky is blue and cloudless.  Rain damn you!

In spite of the drought, my persimmon tree is chock full of fruit.  This will be our biggest harvest yet.  Persimmon trees only produce every other year.  Last year we had around 8 persimmons.  This year it will be ten times that much.  We'll give a lot of it away.  The fruit will be ripe enough to pick around November 1st.

Rainy Day Musings: Big Band Music Class Tonight; The Glenn Miller Story

Glenn Miller, Band Leader
Rain!  In California
This morning when I went to let the dog out to do his business, I noticed the patio was all shiny.  The air smelled cool and fresh.  Then it dawned on me:  it is raining!

There isn't enough rain in this gentle precipitation to cure our drought, but it is nice to reminisce.  I love rain, passionate for all things pluvial.

Big Band Class
My second big band music class is tonight.  We will be practicing "Greensleeves" and "Pennsylvania 6-5000."  I have practiced all my songs faithfully, every day this week.  I should do okay.

"Greensleeves" is a traditional English folk song from the late 16th century.  The original lyrics are a bit strange, but new lyrics are often substituted.  The tune is also used as a Christmas song, and renamed "What Child Is This?"  I love Vince Guaraldi's version.

"Pennsylvania 6-5000" is a 1940's style telephone number, the number of the Pennsylvania Hotel in New York City, where Glenn Miller and many other bands performed.  It is a famous Glenn Miller hit song.  Hear the New Glenn Miller orchestra play it here.

The Glenn Miller Story
Glenn Miller, Officer,
U.S. Army
In 1954, James Stewart starred in the film "The Glenn Miller Story."  It's all about the life and career of Glenn Miller, trombonist, big band leader and music arranger extraordinaire.  You can watch this movie in its entirety on YouTube, for only 99 cents.  It's worth it.

During World War II, Glenn Miller was given a commission as a Captain in the U.S. Army (later promoted to Major), and applied his musical talents to army bands.  He organized his own swing band for entertaining troops at the front.  His band was scheduled to play for a Christmas radio program, broadcast from newly liberated Paris, France.  Miller decided to fly from England to France in advance of his band, to arrange quarters and other matters for the band.  On December 15, 1944, he boarded an army plane for the trip.  His plane disappeared over the English Channel in bad weather, and Miller was later listed as "missing in action."  His remains were never recovered.
