Politics Suck and The GOP Convention 2016

I haven't written much lately.  I have been too disgusted and too lazy.

I've been watching the GOP Convention in Cleveland, and feel that it has been pretty good so far.  I loved the way Giuliani and Gingrich savaged Hillary in speeches to the convention.

The Democrat Convention will be a freak fest of weirdos, Marxists and nut balls.  They will be vicious in their attempt to continue the destruction of  American liberty, prosperity and sovereignty.

Meanwhile, the butt-hurt anti-Trump "conservative" losers continue their descent into irrelevancy.  I will redo my blog face soon, and delete a lot of them from my blog roll.  That would include Moonbattery, Red State, National RINO Online and others.

Right now, I am looking forward to Donald Trump's speech to the Convention tonight.

Voting for The Donald and His Great Big Mouth

My wife dropped off our absentee ballots to the Registrar of Voters today.  We voted for Trump, but for the first time, I held my nose while doing it.  Trump's latest missteps include insulting the judge in a case against him (a really stupid move), and calling a reporter "a sleaze."  I hate to say it, but Hillary may be right in noting that Trump does not have the temperament to be president -- but then, neither does she.  A former White House guard is just releasing a book "Crisis of Character," in which he describes Shrillary as angry, sometimes violent, and over the top nuts.

Will someone close to Trump tell him to STFU?  When he makes himself look like an ass, he makes us, his supporters look none too bright as well.  All of Trump's intemperate comments will come back to haunt him in Democrat attack ads between now and November.  Get a clue, Donald.

Screw National Review: I'm Voting for Donald Trump -- (#Trump)

National Review's latest online magazine is devoted to trashing Trump.  The NRO Establishment Republicans really don't want anyone outside the Country Club Crowd to become president of the United States.  What would people think if a Republican was elected who actually got things done?  Who actually rolled back the left wing juggernaut?  Trump just doesn't get it!

The whole idea, Donald my man, is to pay lip service to conservative policies but do nothing to implement them.  Our political philosophy is never to leave the mahogany-walled panels of our think-tank libraries.  Conservatism is theory only.  So we must continue to elect do-nothings like Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, John McCain, Mitt Romney and Lindsay Graham.

Well after seven years of Obama and go-along RINO Republicans, a lot of people are fed up.  Conservatives have elected Republicans to the House and Senate, and those Republicans do little or nothing to stop Obamacare, illegal immigration, deficit spending, radical appointees, and Obama's power over-reach via executive privilege..  A more feckless mob of collaborationists has rarely been seen.  Even so, they are aghast that we, their voting base, would finally hold them accountable for their abject failure.

So Republican Party, you're fired.  National Review?  You've been on a P.C. downward slide for some time -- firing Ann Coulter and John Derbyshire for writing unpopular truths and things that needed to be said, about Islamic evil and black violence, respectively.  Like many others, I stopped reading National Review Online some time ago.  I prefer my political news and opinion straight, not watered down, not filtered through a P.C. lens to avoid offending people who desperately need to be offended -- with the truth.

So I'm voting for Trump.  Yes, Trump is a gamble -- he may not be able to do what he has promised (building a wall to stop illegal Mexican immigration and halting Muslim immigration), but at least he has proposed to try.  Anyone you vote for is a gamble -- we have seen how D.C. can change a candidate, how that candidate can do things we disagree with, once they have been elected.  However, I am willing to take that gamble.  I don't see that I have much to lose.

Donald Trump is the hard slap across the face that the Republican Party desperately needs.  If our political party no longer represents our views, then it's time to replace it with something else.

Donald Trump's Worst Enemy: Himself. Wise Up, Donald!

I have been supporting Donald Trump's candidacy over all others.  I like how he is bitch-slapping the GOP establishment, the go-along Vichy Republicans who are the willing bitches of the Democratic Party.  However, Trump has done himself no favors lately in making intemperate, tactless remarks against other candidates.

I am not referring to his description of Megyn Kelly as a bimbo -- a stupid remark, but not totally off target.  Kelly is more of an opportunist who would trade conservative principles for media fame and acclaim, and therefore not our friend.  I don't object to his description of Lindsey Graham, the wimpish do-nothing senator from South Carolina, as "a guy who couldn't get a job."  Graham is totally without substance or credibility as either a conservative or a Republican.  Again, not our friend.

However, this week Trump made disparaging remarks about Carly Fiorina's appearance, particularly, her face.  Fiorina didn't deserve that.  This was a "gratuitous insult" -- one that had no purpose, was not a reaction to something Fiorina said or did.  It was a cheap shot.

All "The Donald" accomplished was to make himself look like a boorish, tactless cad.  He wants to be the nominee, yet is supplying the Democrats with enormous ammunition to use against him.  Think of the numerous political ads they will run, quoting Trump's own words, to show him as a thoughtless bully with no sense of decorum or propriety -- or basic manners, for that matter.

So today, at long last, I am reevaluating my support for Donald Trump.  With his big mouth and lack of tact, I am beginning to think he cannot win the presidency.  My advice:  Shut up, Donald.  We know you have big gonads, now show us that you have a brain as well.

Why Support Donald Trump?

Sundance at The Last Refuge gives some pretty good reasons for supporting Donald Trump.  Those reasons are that, let's face it, the Republican Party is unlikely to stop the progressive onslaught.  To the contrary, the Republicans support the left's policy agendas more than they oppose them.

Argument #1 – After all, he’s been a democrat, an independent, a Republican, and well, I have consistently despised Charlie Crist.

Counter Argument – Then again, what about Mitch McConnell and John Boehner, and Orin Hatch, and Lindsey Graham, and John McCain, and John Cornyn, and Thad Cochran and, well, you get the point…. What’s the difference between supporting those consistently Republican “Republicans” only to have them advocate for liberal/progressive policies.

Are the aforementioned better because they didn’t change party registration, yet act like Democrats?

Let me first explain something few fully comprehend – and fewer still, are willing accept. People like us rail against the “establishment” because, despite the GOP claims to the contrary, they never actually do anything to stop the liberal policy agenda. One only has to look at President Obama’s veto record (four in 6.5 years) to accept that only legislation Obama agrees with is reaching his desk.

Something must be done to have an effective opponent to liberal Democrat policies. We won't get it with another RINO candidate. We need to shake things up. We need to put the fear of God into the squishy, pliable, good-ole-boy club that takes our votes for granted, and who consistently ignore what conservatives want. Is Trump the perfect candidate? No, but who is? His one, immensely saving grace is that he is not a part of the mainstream Republican establishment. I'll vote for him on that basis alone.

Democrat Candidate Jim Webb: "Dems Have Moved Way Far to the Left --- That's Not My Democratic Party"

Jim Webb of Virginia may be the best Democratic candidate since JFK.  He is the only candidate in either party to speak with common sense, reverence and truth about Southern heritage.  He has defended the Confederate flag in the past.  I would seriously consider voting for him.  He said:

“To tar the sacrifices of the Confederate soldier as simple acts of racism, and reduce the battle flag under which he fought to nothing more than the symbol of a racist heritage, is one of the great blasphemies of our modern age.”

If the Dems are smart, they will nominate him.  He could be the Democrat to take back the "Solid South" and restore the Democratic Party to the great American institution that it once was.
