Screw National Review: I'm Voting for Donald Trump -- (#Trump)

National Review's latest online magazine is devoted to trashing Trump.  The NRO Establishment Republicans really don't want anyone outside the Country Club Crowd to become president of the United States.  What would people think if a Republican was elected who actually got things done?  Who actually rolled back the left wing juggernaut?  Trump just doesn't get it!

The whole idea, Donald my man, is to pay lip service to conservative policies but do nothing to implement them.  Our political philosophy is never to leave the mahogany-walled panels of our think-tank libraries.  Conservatism is theory only.  So we must continue to elect do-nothings like Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, John Boehner, John McCain, Mitt Romney and Lindsay Graham.

Well after seven years of Obama and go-along RINO Republicans, a lot of people are fed up.  Conservatives have elected Republicans to the House and Senate, and those Republicans do little or nothing to stop Obamacare, illegal immigration, deficit spending, radical appointees, and Obama's power over-reach via executive privilege..  A more feckless mob of collaborationists has rarely been seen.  Even so, they are aghast that we, their voting base, would finally hold them accountable for their abject failure.

So Republican Party, you're fired.  National Review?  You've been on a P.C. downward slide for some time -- firing Ann Coulter and John Derbyshire for writing unpopular truths and things that needed to be said, about Islamic evil and black violence, respectively.  Like many others, I stopped reading National Review Online some time ago.  I prefer my political news and opinion straight, not watered down, not filtered through a P.C. lens to avoid offending people who desperately need to be offended -- with the truth.

So I'm voting for Trump.  Yes, Trump is a gamble -- he may not be able to do what he has promised (building a wall to stop illegal Mexican immigration and halting Muslim immigration), but at least he has proposed to try.  Anyone you vote for is a gamble -- we have seen how D.C. can change a candidate, how that candidate can do things we disagree with, once they have been elected.  However, I am willing to take that gamble.  I don't see that I have much to lose.

Donald Trump is the hard slap across the face that the Republican Party desperately needs.  If our political party no longer represents our views, then it's time to replace it with something else.

Trump Gets It Right on Muslim Immigration: Stop It Completely

Donald Trump stated his planned policy on Muslim immigrants today.  He said:

"Until we are able to determine and understand this problem and the dangerous threat it poses, our country cannot be the victims of horrendous attacks by people that believe only in Jihad, and have no sense of reason or respect for human life."

He further explanined:

"there is great hatred towards Americans by large segments of the Muslim population."

His planned policy is the only one that makes sense.  I have been advocating this policy since 9/11/2001.  The late Lawrence Auster advocated this policy.  Inviting in millions of believers in a murder/suicide death cult is an asinine, insane idea.  Yet some of the political "leaders" on both sides of the aisle are savaging Trump for wanting to do the obvious.

Republicans who oppose Trump's stand include Ben Carson, Chris Christie, Lindsay Graham, Ted Cruz, and Carly Fiorina.  Needless to say, Democrats Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders are dead set against it.

That settles it for me.  I am voting for Donald Trump.

Global warming, ties to Al Sharpton, Islam and biofuels...what's not to like?

Newt Gingrich? Never. Rick Perry? Fuhgedaboutit.

Sean Hannity interviewed Newt Gingrich on his radio show yesterday.  Hannity gently inquired about Newt's stand on man-made global warming (AGW) and how that turns off a lot of conservatives.  Gingrich replied that he does not study what conservative positions to take or to espouse when he debates or when he is interviewed, then indicated that he still believes in man-made global warming.  He said he acknowledges that "a minority of scientists" are skeptics about AGW.

Horse manure, the majority of climate scientists do not believe in man-made global warming, according to what I have read.  Gingrich's stand on AGW means that I can not support him and I will not vote for him in the primaries.  Would he be a better president than Obama?  Who wouldn't?

Rick Perry blew it (again) in the debates this week, getting brain-lock in response to a simple question, i.e. "What federal agency would you get rid of?"  He could have answered "the Department of Energy, the Department of Education, etc" but he didn't respond at all.  He froze.  Imagine Perry in a debate with Obama...no, I don't think so.  Rick Perry is all done and should go home.

So it looks like we will be stuck with slick Mitt, unless Cain can find an effective way to defeat the Democrat Smear Machine, or if Michele Bachmann can find a way to rise in the polls.  Otherwise, "It's RINO time!"

Jon Huntsman, "the Republican Candidate Democrats Fear the Most" (Time)

Jon Huntsman, whom I have never heard of before today, was once the governor of Utah and has worked in the Obama Administration for the past two years (he was ambassador to China).  He has also just announced his candidacy for president as a Republican.

The warmth and acclaim being afforded Huntsman from the left means he is dead on arrival to the national election scene.  We have been expecting some RINO to appear and be praised to the heavens by the left as the greatest GOP candidate ever, or painted as the candidate most likely to cast fear into the hearts of Democrats everywhere, in an attempt to make Republicans like the guy.  The Daily Beast loves him; Harry Reid endorses him; Chris Matthews is probably getting a new thrill up his leg.

The left's real reason for praising Huntsman:  he is a weak candidate whose nomination would give Obama a better chance at reelection.  He is an unknown who hasn't said much on issues most important to conservatives -- though he has mouthed off a bit too much on his love of the Green movement, or as we like to call them, the Luddites.

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels: Potential Savior or Another RINO?

According to the Drudge Report, Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels "wowed 'em" at the CPAC conference in Washington this week.  Daniels is exploring a possible run for the presidency.   I read Daniels' speech here, and it has a lot of good ideas, none of which are especially new, being the staple of the conservative movement for some time:  smaller, more efficient government, the cessation of unnecessary and wasteful spending, paying down the national debt, a vigorous economy as the path to greater opportunity for all.

My antennae went up, however, when Daniels alluded to broad coalitions involving liberals.  Liberalism is the disease, and mixing the disease with the antidote seems a self-defeating strategy for economic recovery.  He said:

Purity in martyrdom is for suicide bombers. King Pyrrhus is remembered, but his nation disappeared. Winston Churchill set aside his lifetime loathing of Communism in order to fight World War II. Challenged as a hypocrite, he said that when the safety of Britain was at stake, his “conscience became a good girl.” We are at such a moment. I for one have no interest in standing in the wreckage of our Republic saying “I told you so” or “You should’ve done it my way.”

Second, Daniels seems to allude to the class warfare strategy and implies we should embrace it, that is, the rich vs poor scenario, where we advance the theory that both cannot prosper simultaneously, or that by looking out for the rights of the successful and productive we somehow undermine those "on the first rung of life's ladder."  He says:

We must display a heart for every American, and a special passion for those still on the first rung of life’s ladder. Upward mobility from the bottom is the crux of the American promise, and the stagnation of the middle class is in fact becoming a problem, on any fair reading of the facts. Our main task is not to see that people of great wealth add to it, but that those without much money have a greater chance to earn some.

The last sentence in this paragraph makes me feel quite uncomfortable.  Daniels appears to be throwing out a sound bite to the mainstream media who love the false dictum that "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer," and that the GOP wrongly supports the former over the latter. I prefer the truism that "a rising tide lifts all boats."

Sarah Palin Endorses RINO Carly Fiorina for the Senate

Psota, a San Francisco based attorney, has written a great post on Palin's endorsement of Fiorina.

Carly Fiorina is a RINO, as Psota points out. I voted for Schwarzenegger twice and lived to regret it. I won't vote for another RINO.

GOP's Hand-Picked Candidate for NY-23 is a DEMOCRAT

Today Dede Scozzafava, Newt's hand-picked candidate for New York's 23rd congressional district, formally endorsed the Democrat in the race, Bill Owens.  Her husband did so earlier.

Scozzafava dropped out yesterday when polls showed her support tanking.  Instead of throwing her support to the conservative candidate, she chose to throw it instead to the Democratic candidate.

Scozzafava was a pro-abortion supporter of bail-outs and other Democrat policies. If there was anything "Republican" about her, it wasn't obvious.  Now she has shown her true political colors.  Dan Riehl at Riehl World View is reporting that Scozzafava is now doing robo calls for Bill Owens.

This is the "Republican" the National Republican Party would have stuck us with.

Purge Newt!

Newt Gingrich didn't have much credibility with me after I learned he believes in man made global warming.  Now the old Republican retread is denouncing the Party's base by endorsing a leftist for NY 23rd, one Dede Scozzafava; he has called conservative opposition to Scozzafava as "a purge" of the GOP that will return Obama to the White House for a second term.

However, for the second day in a row, polls show the Conservative Party challenger, Doug Hoffman, leading both the Democrat and the Rino in voter popularity.  Hoffman is over the Democrat by 5% and runs ahead of Rino Scozzafava by 20%.  It looks like Newt's endorsement has done little but embarrass him.

One thing the GOP's Good Ole Boy Club had better learn fast, is that we, the base, aren't going to put up with them anymore.  For years we have had to hold our noses and vote for some Rino like John McCain because there wasn't anyone better on the ballot.  Our choices on the Road to Serfdom consisted of the Democrat shortcut down Socialism Avenue, or the Republican scenic route through Big Government Park.  We would arrive at the same place (Red Square), but the Republicans would get us there more slowly.

No more.   NO MORE RINOS is our slogan and our battle cry.  We must continue to purge the false leaders and appeasers, the Quislings and the Vichy collaborators.  A liberal with an R after his name is a liberal still.  The GOP is not an end in itself but the means to an end:  more individual freedom, less taxes, less government.

George Will, Effete Snob, False Conservative

George Will has long struck me as a reluctant conservative, if conservative at all. He seems to be one of the country club Republicans. They see the GOP not as a national political party but rather as a private club for snobs and elitists. They are happy to pontificate from atop Mount Olympus to the swarming masses below, safe from any actual contact with the dirty peasantry. I've always wondered if Will's bright red bowtie twirls like helicopter blades when no one is looking, and if so, will it fly him up and away? One can only hope.

Today George Weak Will has come out with a column calling for a complete ground withdrawal from Afghanistan, in effect, declaring the war lost and just getting out.

William Kristol disagrees with Will. He writes:

But let’s be honest. Will is not calling on the United States to accept a moderate degree of success in Afghanistan, and simply to stop short of some overly ambitious goal. Will is urging retreat, and accepting defeat.

I think R.S. McCain of The Other McCain has the right idea about George Will. He writes:

"The Air Force should load George Will and David Brooks into a C-130 and airdrop them, sans parachute, on a Taliban position in Afghanistan. They're useless as intellectuals, but perhaps they'll do some good as ordnance."

David Frum is a RINO and Has No Credibility

David Frum has been positioning himself as a "maverick" for awhile now. I'm surprised he didn't endorse Obama during the election campaign.

Today he is lamenting the fact that if we Republicans successfully oppose Obamacare, it will be a victory for "inertia." However, if the choice is sitting still or rolling off a cliff, inertia can be a good thing (i.e., inertia being defined as "an indisposition to motion.")

David Frum has no credibility left with me. He's a RINO, one of those politicos who are loyal only to their own popularity. No doubt he thinks he will get invited on some liberal talk shoes, or paid to give speeches to liberal audiences, or invited to some Beltway cocktail parties. He's not the first sell-out we've ever seen and he won't be the last. Ignore him.

Colin Powell, Shut the Hell Up

Colin Powell, that phony RINO Republican who endorsed Barack Obama for President, mainly on the basis of their shared skin color, came out this week to further ensconce himself in the Legion of the Lame. Powell completed his screwing over of the party that embraced and empowered him with these gems:

1. The GOP "needs to stop shouting at the world and the country...needs to take a hard look at itself."

Not a single specific example of this shouting was provided. This was just a generalized slur on Republicans and conservatives with no support or explanation. As such, it can be dismissed for what it is, hot air. The comment that "we need to take a hard look" at ourselves is pregnant with unvoiced accusation...that somehow we are motivated by dark forces, no doubt by bigotry, hatred and greed...everything that the Left wants to believe about us. The real purpose of this slander was not to change Republican behavior but to help Powell ingratiate himself with the Obama Administration. Republicans, it seems, are so out of power these days and it pays to kiss up to the new power brokers in Washington.

2. Sarah Palin "had something of a polarizing effect when she talked about how small-town values are good...It was that attempt by the party to use polarization for political advantage that I think backfired."

This comment is just unbelievably asinine. So now the GOP is trying to turn small-town folk against big-town folk? And this was the REAL issue and why we lost the election? Silly me, I thought it was the sudden tanking of the economy a month before the election -- but now I realize that Powell was right.

So many people across the fruited plain were involved in this "polarization" between hayseeds and city slickers. I know I was. I live in a small town and I just despise people from big cities...oh yes, I just lay awake at night resenting them. Really. They are so uppity with their paved streets and shoes and new fangled gadgets like "cars." They don't even wear overalls or have cows! What on earth were they thinking?? But then I realized I was only being played by Sarah Palin, who wanted to turn me against my big-city dwelling brothers and sisters, and I rushed right out and voted for Obama, as did millions of other right-thinking Americans. (Question: why does anyone take Colin Powell seriously when he advances such asinine arguments?)

3. "Can we continue to listen to Rush Limbaugh? Is this really the kind of party that we want to be when these kinds of spokespersons seem to appeal to our lesser instincts rather than our better instincts?"

This is a question based on a false premise, that Limbaugh appeals to our "lesser instincts rather than our better instincts." It is a generalized slur, of which the Left is so adept. Not a single specific example is given, mainly because there is none. I listen to Limbaugh quite often and he is grossly misrepresented by liberals as to what he says, thinks and believes. Since they can't refute him, they attempt to slander him or censor him. Arguing from a false premise is a form of lying. What does that make you, Colin Powell?

4. "There is nothing wrong with being conservative. There is nothing wrong with having socially conservative views — I don't object to that.”

He doesn't object to having conservative views, he only objects to anyone expressing them, like Limbaugh. He doesn't object to such views, even though they are appealing to "our lesser instincts." Powell, your logic is so weak and your arguments so bizarre, you really ought to change parties where your liberalism will have a home.

5. “But if the party wants to have a future in this country, it has to face some realities. In another 20 years, the majority in this country will be the minority."

So what does that mean, Powell? That conservative views are only beneficial to white people? What exactly are you implying? That if the GOP wants to be the majority party it has to expand welfare, open the borders wide to illegal immigration, bring back racial norming in SAT scores and college admissions, restore subprime mortgages for minorities who can't repay them?

In other words, to be the majority party we must fund minority dysfunction and give it moral legitimacy: welfare, crime, drug usage, illegitimacy, dropping out of school? Is that what you are actually trying to say, or do you even know yourself? In any case, you are wrong and here's why.

What works for white people works for ANYONE wanting a better life: getting an education; staying off drugs; not committing crimes and avoiding a criminal record; not getting a woman pregnant and then abandoning her and her child; not having a really crappy attitude (such as "every rotten thing I do is really your fault"); not being a racist (against whites); not being a professional victim to whom the world owes a living and a never-ending apology; getting your ass up in the morning and going to a job; supporting your family; having a teamwork approach at work; seeking to contribute something of actual value to society in exchange for a livelihood that has actually been EARNED.

These basic principles work for anyone of any color because reality does not change with one's ethnicity; to imply that a different race requires a different form of government or economic system is sheer demogoguery. It is not reality that must conform itself to those seeking to advance; it is they who must conform to reality if they are to rise in a free society. Those who embrace and work with reality are welcome in the Republican Party regardless of their race, ethnicity or skin color. To suggest otherwise, as Powell has, is a damnable lie.

Colin Powell's fuzzy, indistinct, half-formed thoughts and opinions have no value other than to advance his reputation amongst the liberal fever-swamps and make liberal black people love him again. Now he may be invited on the View and told how brave and courageous he is. Maybe he'll be invited to more cocktail parties on Capitol Hill and placed on the Hollywood A list. Maybe he can write a best-selling book with a healthy advance. It might be titled "My journey from the Dark Side: from Republican Lesser Instincts to Democrat Enlightenment." He could then go on Oprah and pitch the book. Maybe, just maybe, Barack Obama will give him a high level cabinet post, which is what this brouhaha is really all about.

SCREW YOU Powell. Whatever your motivations, the Republican Party will NOT be a carbon-copy of the socialist, pacifist Democrats. The Party suffers defeat when it stops being conservative, not the other way around. Under big spender, big government George Bush, the party stopped being conservative and we paid for it at the polls. THANK GOD he'll be gone soon.

If you think the GOP is through or that the country has irreversibly embraced socialism via the Democrat Party, you are wrong. Liberalism doesn't work. And that is the primary reason why we conservatives will be back. You can count on it.

Republican Turncoats: We Will Remember and Not Forgive

Colin Powell, former Republican Secretary of State under President George W. Bush, endorsed Barack Obama for President yesterday. Mr. Powell, a former US Army general and military man, no doubt saw in Barack Obama the kind of defense-minded, forward thinking military strategy we need to keep us safe from terrorist attack. It had to be that, because Powell, a black man, has assured us that his endorsement "is not about race."

Bull hockey. It's ALL about race. For far too many black people, skin color trumps politics, principle, patriotism and party. Colin Powell has often been considered as a possible Republican president for the future. No more, Colin. We will not forget your betrayal; you're all done. Please reregister your political affiliation; on the line that says "Party" maybe you should write "Black."

Peggy Noonan, a Republican author, pundit and former Reagan speechwriter detests Sarah Palin and has made her sentiments known at every turn. Why she has taken this tact is anyone's guess -- oh I know, it must be because she was so overwhelmed with the depth and brilliance and profoundly deep thinking of Senator Joe Biden, not to mention his scintillating impersonation of Neil Kinnock. No doubt Noonan was jealous that the Dems had so upstaged us in the VP department. Well, either that, or she's an opportunistic sell-out who wants to be noticed or is currying favor with what she perceives is an emerging new era of Democrat government. After all, there's the beltway cocktail party A list to think of, and all those mainstream media talk shows.

I only speak for myself, Peggy, but I will never afford you any credibility again. I will not buy or read any books you write, nor read any columns you pen or watch or listen to any TV or radio broadcasts where you're the guest. Have a nice life without me in it.

David Frum -- He's a pundit for National Review Online and has taken the same path that Noonan has in regards to Sarah Palin. For my take on Frum, just reread the Peggy Noonan section and replace "Noonan" with "Frum." See you, Dave. Don't let the door hit you in the butt on your way out of the GOP's "Big Tent."
