If you've been following Michelle Malkin lately, you know that Absolut Vodka is advertising in Mexico. Their ad shows a big map of Canada, the USA and Mexico. Except Mexico has been increased in size and now incorporates most of California, Texas and Arizona.
This is to appeal to the "reconquista" desires of many Mexican nationals and immigrants. They owned this land once and they want it back. All of the shining cities and resources and roads and factories and airports and trains and tracks and other infrastructure. All the good stuff built by the Yanquis.
The only problem is that, if they had owned it all these years instead of us, the area would likely resemble the rest of Mexico, not the modern, world-class cities that are there now. We ain't givin' it back, amigos.
And remember, we might just want to shorten the word "reconquista" to "conquista" plain and simple. Two can play that game.
The two ads appear to the right. The first (on top) is the actual ad. The second is my Photoshopped response.
