"Moonbattery" Nails It: the Ugly Symbiosis of Liberals and Welfare Dependents

One of my favorite blogs, Moonbattery, discusses an article in the Daily Mail today, about welfare families who have never worked. It's called the "Why Bother" economy, where a large subculture exists on government welfare and has no motivation or will to work for a living. Their political activity is to continually vote for those politicians who will protect and raise their benefits.

The situation in a nutshell: welfare recipients vote for liberals in order to get benefits. Liberals support welfare benefits in order to get votes. It is a digusting form of symbiosis where welfare slugs and liberal politicians scratch each other's backs, with you and I paying the freight.

Van Helsing, owner of Moonbattery, really nails it. He writes:
Basically, liberalism has reduced humans to farm animals. Just like
chickens are raised by farmers for their eggs, welfare dependents are raised by
the State for their votes.
I have never read a better explanation for the welfare-dependent subculture. Van Helsing, you da man.

The situation in the United States, however, is not as bad as it was before welfare reform. It's still quite bad in Britain.
