California Bans "Redskins" as a School Mascot

California is the first state to ban the mascot name "Redskins" in public schools.  Assemblyman Luis Alejo presented the bill, which was signed by Governor Brown this week.

Schools with the mascot name "Redskins" will have until January 2017 to change their mascot name and eradicate "Redskins" from school uniforms, buildings and other mentions.

According to the Lance Newspaper of Hollister, California, there are four California high schools using the "Redskins" name.  One of them, Gustine High School, has used the name for 80 years, and has the name implanted in the floor of their gym.  It will be an expensive proposition for them to change all school uniforms and redo the gym floor.

Tough buns.  The Nanny State of California knows best, and as usual, liberals find their greatest accomplishments in what they ban, forbid and suppress -- and not what they allow.  Government is force, and nowhere else in America is that premise better illustrated in California -- land of budding fascism and vanishing freedom.

Erasing Southern History: An Apt Quote from the Novel "1984"

In 1949, George Orwell published his famous novel predicting our Fascist future. The novel was titled Nineteen-Eighty Four (often referred to as simply 1984). Some of the quotes from that novel really remind me of the dark period through which we are now passing, where basic reality is rigorously denied and derided, and all human thought strictly pressured to conform to the state's official positions.  The quote below seems particularly real to Confederate descendants, particularly in light of the extreme cultural cleansing and historical revisionism now going on there.

Winston Smith to Julia:

Already we know almost literally nothing about the Revolution and the years before the Revolution. Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street and building has been renamed, and every date has been altered. And that process is continuing day-by-day and minute-by-minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.

The upside down values of the fictitious Fascist government in 1984 are expressed in its daily slogan, while preparing the masses for Hate Week:

Federal Judge Cancels the Washington Redskins Trademark Name

This just in from the Washington Weekly News:

For the first time in a legal battle that has stretched over 20 years, a federal judge on Wednesday ordered the cancellation of the Washington Redskins’ trademark registration, ruling that the team name may be disparaging to Native Americans.

The team had sued in federal court in Alexandria seeking to overturn a ruling last year by the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. It argued that the name honors Native Americans and that canceling the trademark infringes on its free-speech rights because it requires the government to judge whether the name is offensive.

In rejecting the team’s free-speech argument, Lee’s 70-page ruling cited a U.S. Supreme Court ruling last month allowing the state of Texas to bar depiction of the Confederate battle flag on specialty license plates sought by the Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Just as Texas could not be forced to issue license plates depicting a flag considered offensive, Lee said the Patent and Trademark Office cannot be forced to register a trademark that is deemed disparaging.

The censorship continues, and American Fascism advances in its Gramsci-like march through the institutions, thanks to federal courts of law.  I guess "the Washington Confederates" would be totally out of the question.

Here are the characteristics of these federally advanced fascistic censorship drives:
1.  They usually involve non-white ethnicities.  Great priority is given to complaining minorities, and little priority to white people's concerns.
2.  They are highly subjective.  What is or is not "disparaging" or "offensive" is in the eye of the beholder.  This is what gripes me most.  These decisions are not based on polls, or a democratic vote, or a finding of facts -- they are based on the subjective impressions and biases of government bureaucrats, who rule by decree rather than law.
3.  They oppress and suppress the freedoms of those with different opinions.  The current cultural cleansing going on is nothing less than thought control or even thought crimes.  Those who insist on a negative interpretation of symbols, flags and football team names are practicing "viewpoint discrimination."  They are using the force of law to enforce their subjective biases on the population as a whole.  

All of this results in thought control, the politicization of history and viewpoint discrimination.  It is far more divisive than unifying, and stokes far more hatred and resentment than it does peace and harmony.

The Fascist Thought Police and the Embarrassing Question of Racial Differences In I.Q. #Race #AmericanRenaissance

American Renaissance has reprinted an article from Politico by Jason Richwine, about how politics and social pressure pervert the objective study of I.Q. and how it differs by race.

Richwine holds a PhD from Harvard, and has written about I.Q. and race, and faced the consequences:  liberal rage and media frenzy for telling truths that the left wants hidden.  He writes:

There is a large discrepancy between what educated laypeople believe about cognitive science and what experts actually know. Journalists are steeped in the lay wisdom, so they are repeatedly surprised when someone forthrightly discusses the real science of mental ability.

If that science happens to deal with group differences in average IQ, the journalists’ surprise turns into shock and disdain. Experts who speak publicly about IQ differences end up portrayed as weird contrarians at best, and peddlers of racist pseudoscience at worst.

 So many disciplines are corrupted and usurped by politics today that it is almost impossible to trust the popular media on any of them.  That corruption mainly includes science and history, where both are manipulated (or suppressed) to support modern political goals.  I.Q. as it differs by race is a glaring example.

Grade School Fascism and Anti-Gun Hysteria

Fascism is force.  Fascism is indoctrination.  Fascism is ostracism, punishment and intimidation of those who violate its tenets, however far-fetched the crime, however young and unwitting the perpetrators.

For several years I have watched in increasing anger and dismay at the severe indoctrination and intimidation of grade school children by progressive fascists, mainly over guns and knives.  The latest example is here, where a 7 year old was suspended for allegedly eating his pop tart into the shape of a gun.

The extremism of local school boards has reached unprecedented levels of absurdity, but it is not without purpose or design.  The current generation of grammar school children will someday grow up to be the adults who vote.  By then these new adults will be so terrified of guns that they will vote away the Second Amendment in a heartbeat.  To create the new docile and manageable American adult, any and all discussion or depiction of guns must be ruthlessly suppressed.

One must never be allowed to think about guns, mention guns, depict guns in any way, either by toy replicas, or by drawing guns, or by pointing one's fingers to simulate a gun, or by eating pastry into a gun-like shape.  Those who do will be severely punished, not for actual deeds, but for thought crimes.

"Come and Take It!"

It is time to counter such insanity with strong measures.  If it were up to me, the Maryland community that is served by this school would picket the school, hoisting signs and placards that depict real guns in photographs and drawings.  Informational pamphlets would be handed out to passers-by with pertinent facts, such as "this is a picture of a real gun.  It does not shoot.  It cannot harm anyone.  Depictions of guns harm no one!  Know the difference.  End anti-gun fascism now!"

They could hand out toy guns to school kids outside of school grounds, offer free pastries baked into gun shapes, post pictures of cartoon guns on telephone poles, patrol the school perimeter armed with super-shooter squirt guns, bubble guns and toy guns with barrel flags that say "BANG!"  Candy makers could make bubble gum in the shape of tiny handguns;  women could wear handgun earrings and (fake) bullet necklaces, men could wear gun-shaped lapel pins.  Informational pamphlets depicting real guns, and how they differ from imaginary guns, could be mailed to every member of the school board and teachers' union.  Planes could be hired to drop leaflets depicting comic guns with "bang" flags over all local school grounds.  T shirts with Yosemite Sam brandishing cartoon six-shooters could be worn by all protesters.  (What are they gonna do, arrest Walt Disney?)

In other words, absurdity should be fought with counter-absurdity.  Everywhere the grade school fascists turn, they should see the comical depiction of a gun.  I say comical so they can't claim intimidation or interpret the depictions as any kind of implied threat.  The goal is to rub the fascist nose in the asininity of progressive paranoia while deliberately flouting its program.
