Of course, the Left is saying that it was opposition to the Ground Zero Mosque that caused the arsonists to start the fire. On the contrary, the Tennessee burning was undoubtedly provoked by the decision to build the Ground Zero mosque in the first place. If domestic Muslims had any sensitivity for the feelings of other Americans, perhaps they wouldn't be facing growing opposition from a motivated citizenry.
So who's responsible for the Tennessee arson? Muslims and the left wing liberals who support them. A local Tennessee Muslim said:
"We unfortunately did not experience hostilities for the 30 years we've been here and have only seen the hostility since approval of the site plan for the new center," said Sbenaty.What happened to alienate the non-Muslims in the area? Well, there was this thing called 9/11, and unending terrorist attacks across the globe, and many would-be terrorists arrested right here in the USA. Then there was the mosque to be built at Ground Zero, which has further alienated millions of Americans. Many see it as a "victory" mosque to celebrate the death of infidels there. No doubt this hostility spilled over to the Tennessee area. Now, every time a mosque is under construction, the local residents will be reminded of the seditious and violent nature of Islam....and they will resent it. Thank Feisal Abdul Rauf.
One local resident explained why Islam is viewed with growing hostility in Tennessee (and elsewhere):
