Liz Cheney, Rising Star in the GOP?

Since my blog wasn't operating properly for a few days, I was unable to comment earlier on Liz Cheney's excellent debate with CNN's Anderson Cooper.  Liz Cheney is the beautiful blonde daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who has been sharply criticizing Barack Obama for releasing the details of our enhanced interrogation techniques to the public.
Dick Cheney has said that this release of information compromises our intelligence agencies by giving information that the terrorists can train to resist when in captivity.

In fact, Dick Cheney has become the foremost defender of the Bush administration from Obama's constant denigrations.  Dick Cheney has been forceful and articulate in his criticisms of Obama, causing Obama to become openly defensive.  Anderson Cooper tried to repair the damage.  He interviewed Liz Cheney and tried to equate the enhanced interrogation techniques with the crimes at Abu Ghraib, but Liz wouldn't let him get away with it.  She calmly pointed out that some of his statements were "irresponsible" just before she demolished them.

Liz Cheney was cool as a cucumber, very confident and informed of the issues, and soundly rebutted Cooper's attempts to miscast the facts.  Ms. Cheney was a role model for all Republican spokesmen to emulate.  She never got ruffled, never got tongue-tied, never lost her temper.  Rush Limbaugh called her "vocal, informed and effective."

You can view the video of her debate with Cooper at Not One Red Cent's article, "Could Change for the GOP Look Like This?

Dick Cheney: Democrats Return to Form

Last week Dick Cheney spoke to the Heritage Foundation in Washington. In his speech he noted that the Democrats have returned to form as the party of the far left, espousing high taxation and socialism at home and retreat and pacifism abroad. So if you want to have your income taxed away while being left unprotected from violent Islamic extremism, do vote for Democrats and get your wish.

Cheney compares today's Democrats to the 1970's when they chose George McGovern for their standard bearer on a platform of high taxation and retreat from American commitments in the Cold War. The result was that the Democratic Party suffered an historic defeat at the polls.

Today the Democrats are trying to raise taxes significantly on small businesses and the middle class and bring back the death tax from 0 to 55%. They are also trying to withdraw from the modern counterpart to the Cold War, the War on Radical Islam. To sum it all up, with Democrats you get high taxes and less protection from the tyrants who want to kill us or subjugate us.

Cheney deals with the Democrat fiction that the War in Iraq has nothing to do with the "War on Terror." The VP quotes Osama Bin Laden to make his point:

...now we hear almost daily the claim that the fight in Iraq has nothing to do with the war on terror. Opponents of our military action there have called Iraq a diversion from the real conflict, a distraction from the business of fighting and defeating Osama bin Laden and the al Qaeda network. We hear this over and over again, not as an argument, but as an assertion meant to close off argument.

Yet the evidence is flatly to the contrary. And the critics conveniently disregard the words of bin Laden himself. "The most serious issue today for the whole world," he said, "is this third world war [that is] raging in [Iraq]." He calls it "a war of destiny between infidelity and Islam." He said, "The whole world is watching this war," and that it will end in "victory and glory or misery and humiliation." And in words directed at the American people, bin Laden declares, "The war is for you or for us to win. If we win it, it means your defeat and disgrace forever."

This leader of al-Qaeda has referred to Baghdad as the capital of the caliphate. He has also said, "Success in Baghdad will be success for the United States. Failure in Iraq is the failure of the United States. Their defeat in Iraq will mean defeat in all their wars."

Do read all of Cheney's remarks here.

At the same time, their speaker Nancy Pelosi has seemingly formed a shadow presidency, creating its own foreign policy initiatives and attempting to negotiate with foreign tyrants in violation of the Logan Act. It seems Presidential style airplanes are not the only evidence of Pelosi's delusions of grandeur.

Unless you value your money, your life and your freedoms, you should do all you can to defeat the Democrats in 2008.

Cowboy Wimpy in Texas (Barack Obama)

The wimpoid known as Barack Obama mouthed off in Texas today about Dick Cheney, a man with more testosterone in his little toe than Obama has in his whole body. There was a picture in the news of this lightweight posing in a cowboy hat.

Of course the Dems love Obama, he's a former Muslim, he's black, he's a leftist and he hasn't a clue. What's not to like? Of course his skin color trumps everything else. Liberals care more about gender and ethnicity than competence or experience.

The alternative to Obama is Hillary Clinton, a posing, posturing airhead who must have every interview scripted with questions presented in advance, and who is on a "listening tour" of America. She is "listening" so she won't have to speak and reveal the utter vacuity of her knowledge of politics or anything else. Obama and Hillary had a nasty spat this week after a liberal rich supporter backed Obama instead of Hillary. I loved it.
