On Hoisting the Black Flag

For me, it's been a nasty couple of days blogging.  The left is so foul, so vile, so mendacious (oh hell, strike the pussy language. They're a bunch of damn liars).

In any case, my anger has been rising to a very ugly level so I need to take a breath and step back.  I stopped in at a blog by someone with the improbable name of Matthew Yglesias (sounds like a terrorist) where the liberal pussies were trashing the Confederate flag and I let them have it, both barrels.  They are cowardly, unmanly ignoramuses who dream of having a big government tit to suck on so they won't have to do any actual work or be responsible for themselves.  They call themselves "the Reality Based Community."  What a monstrous falsehood!  These fools haven't a clue as to how the world works or why.  "Reality-based" my foot.

Well anyway, you can see by my inelegant language that I am really in a foul mood.  I am reminded of two quotes from that lovable iconoclast, H.L. Mencken:

1.  The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out for himself, without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane and intolerable, and so, if he is romantic, he tries to change it. And even if he is not romantic personally he is very apt to spread discontent among those who are.

2.  Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit upon his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats.

Number 2 is probably ascendant in my thoughts just now.  It's probably illegal, so instead of doing that, I think I will just go to bed.   Maybe things will look better in the morning.

Must Read: The Destruction of Sarah Palin

Bill Whittle of PJTV and the blog "Eject Eject Eject" has a great article on the Left's planned destruction of Sarah Palin. You can read it or watch Bill's video.

Bill says what I have said on this blog several times: the Left files bogus ethics complaints against Palin for two reasons: (1) to destroy her financially through the huge legal fees needed to defend herself and (2) to poison the well of public opinion with an implication of wrong-doing. If every time you hear Palin on the news channel and hear "ethics charges" mentioned in the same sentence, your subconscious will pick up the intended message. It is really dirty politics, but that's what the Left is all about.

Whittle says that we must begin employing the same tactics against the Left as a form of retaliation. I reluctantly agree. It goes against the grain for most conservatives to resort to dirty fighting, but the Machiavellian Dems allow us no other options. We must give them full measure of what they have given to us.

Perhaps our first Fight Back strategy is to identify Democratic politicians in the state of Alaska for targeting with bogus ethics complaints. Our Alaskan operatives can file complaints on the lack of ethics in their neckties, or for wearing plaid, thereby violating fashion ethics. Any Dems who have dyed their hair to hide the gray could be targeted for lack of ethics in personal grooming. We could state that the Dem politicians have attempted to enrich themselves through their political offices...by accepting salaries. All of our complaints will be quickly denied and thrown out, but not until the Dems have incurred substantial legal fees. Whoops, there goes Junior's college fund or mom's retirement account. Oh well.

Of course, we don't have the leftwing mainstream media to assist in the effort, like the Associated Press, who falsely reported Palin was guilty of the last ethics charge, filed about a week ago.

Nevertheless, we will do our best. Hope you Alaskan Democrats have your checkbooks ready; your attorneys will be needing retainers soon.

Jim Robinson is Right

The Free Republic post that Rick Moran and Charles Johnson find so disagreeable is here.

Jim Robinson, the founder of FreeRebublic.com, is not a friend of mine. I have had my issues with him and have stated categorically that I consider the man an asshole. However, on the topic of his post I would have to say that he is right. Right in assuming that the radical left administration now in power is beyond the scope of normal politics and normal solutions through normal channels.

I too have called for steps by the individual states to resist the tyrannies now being foisted upon us in the name of socialism and environmental extremism. Robinson is merely posing some possible alternatives to just sitting still and accepting the extreme hardships that Obama has in store for us. It is a discussion worth having. Yes, we can wait four years until a new election, but much damage will have been done by then, to the Republic and to future generations who will have to pay for the fiscal catastrophe that this neo-Marxist is busily implementing.

If we do nothing, the economic destruction will be devastating, creating a new depression similar to the 1930's, with poverty and misery our lot for many years to come. We have to decide whether "politics as usual" is worth that price.

I don't necessarily believe that Robinson's solution is the correct one or the only one, but it is a starting point for a discussion worth having. My own solution would include a convention of all willing states to form a pact or block that would actively resist socialist tyranny by a flat refusal to go along. Representatives of these states should state that they will not implement or allow implementation within their borders of socialized medicine, cap and trade taxation or the reckless creation of debt that is unprecedented in our history. Further, they will not honor as binding law any unconstitutional decrees by a dogmatically leftist and activist Supreme Court (such as, for example, any decrees stating that the 2nd Amendment does not apply to individuals, a position that Obama has long held).

How all of this could be accomplished is something that would have to be worked out by a conference of the willing states. Secession should not be ruled out as an option to be used only in an extreme situation. "Consent of the governed" is the foundation of our Republic and perhaps it is time to withdraw our consent. Such a movement would indeed create a lot of controversy but the implications of it might be enough to stop Obama's aggressive program. The Democratic Party might grow some gonads and join us in stopping him.

Yes, Obama won the election; however, the Constitution is supposed to create boundaries beyond which elected officials cannot go. Obama and his administration do not feel in any way obligated to respect those boundaries. Therefore, we are put into a position of accepting serfdom or finding new ways to peacefully resist.

Jim Robinson is right: we need a serious conversation about our alternatives.

A Message to Liberals: I WILL NOT OBEY

There comes a time in political life when respecting "the law" must end. That is when "the law" is blatantly unconstitutional and so destructive of human rights and liberty that obeying "the law" would be a crime. These are the times when "civil disobedience" is called for, a principle now being demonstrated in the bloody streets of Tehran.

Therefore, I at this time would like to announce my brazen and blatant disobedience to illegal laws passed or planned by the Obama Administration.

I WILL NOT OBEY WHEN:

1. When "the law" says I must turn in my guns, I WILL NOT OBEY.

2. When "the law" says I must pay a significant portion of my income to losers and layabouts under some "Cap and Trade" scheme, I WILL NOT OBEY.

3. When "the law" says I am prohibited from publicly criticizing Islam or liberalism, I WILL NOT OBEY.

4. When "the law" says I must abide nationalized health care in order to get medical treatement, I WILL NOT OBEY.

5. When "the law" says I must drastically reduce my standard of living to alleviate non-existent "global warming" I WILL NOT OBEY.

We can stymy the goals of this evil, unamerican administration by refusing to meekly go along with its program. CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE NOW!

It is time to proudly adopt the label of REBEL and take the pledge of Civil Disobedience to Democratic Fascism.

Pelosi Galore Flap: Not All the Pussies are Democrats

Incredible.  The GOP has released an effective video ad subtly comparing Nancy Pelosi to the James Bond character Pussy Galore (the film never mentions Pussy Galore, however).  Pelosi is fighting with the CIA over waterboarding and making a fool of herself in the process.  What better time to heap ridicule on this evil Democrat and further erode her credibility?  The Pelosi Galore ad did that.  It was an effective satire that underscores Pelosi's hypocrisy and mendacity.  

But some Republicans don't have a clue and react in accordance with decades of liberal programming.  The ad will backfire, they moan.  It will be misinterpreted.  It sends the wrong message.  It will be used against us. It will cost us votes.  They may even call us...gasp!...SEXISTS!

Update:  Jeff G writes at Protein Wisdom: "Conservatives deserve to wander in the wilderness so long as they continue to accept the premises that Democrats foist upon them, and then scurry about trying to fit their behavior inside parameters that have been defined for them by their ideological enemies."  Very much on point to this article.

Hot Air (Allah) is one of the chicken-hearts who are trumpeting this crapola today, and of course, Democrat websites and blogs will be quoting him in their defense of Pelosi-Galore.  He has supplied them with propaganda talking points.  They can say "even well-known Republican blogger Allah of Hot Air has denounced the ad as sexist."

As Saul Alinsky wrote in his book "Rules for Radicals," ridicule is the most potent political weapon you can use.  It makes the opposition react angrily and irrationally and allows them to self-destruct.  However, the effect can be spoiled by self-doubting and brainwashed Republicans who are always eager to apologize to our enemies and to avoid controversy at all costs.  

When the Democrat programming and propaganda begins, alleging sexism, racism or whatever-ism, we should never apologize or retreat.  The thing to do is laugh long and loud in their direction and keep the ridicule flowing.  Allah should obey that old Army dictum:  either lead, follow or get the hell out of the way.  Allah, you didn't help us today.

Liz Cheney, Rising Star in the GOP?

Since my blog wasn't operating properly for a few days, I was unable to comment earlier on Liz Cheney's excellent debate with CNN's Anderson Cooper.  Liz Cheney is the beautiful blonde daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, who has been sharply criticizing Barack Obama for releasing the details of our enhanced interrogation techniques to the public.  

Dick Cheney has said that this release of information compromises our intelligence agencies by giving information that the terrorists can train to resist when in captivity.  

In fact, Dick Cheney has become the foremost defender of the Bush administration from Obama's constant denigrations.  Dick Cheney has been forceful and articulate in his criticisms of Obama, causing Obama to become openly defensive.  Anderson Cooper tried to repair the damage.  He interviewed Liz Cheney and tried to equate the enhanced interrogation techniques with the crimes at Abu Ghraib, but Liz wouldn't let him get away with it.  She calmly pointed out that some of his statements were "irresponsible" just before she demolished them.  

Liz Cheney was cool as a cucumber, very confident and informed of the issues, and soundly rebutted Cooper's attempts to miscast the facts.  Ms. Cheney was a role model for all Republican spokesmen to emulate.  She never got ruffled, never got tongue-tied, never lost her temper.  Rush Limbaugh called her "vocal, informed and effective."

Lessons from "Rules for Radicals" - How to Fight Dirty

Today I finished reading Saul Alinsky's Handbook for Democrats, otherwise known as "Rules for Radicals." The best chapter of the book, by far is "Tactics." In it he discussed a number of rules for tactics. Some of the best are described below.

Tactics means doing what you can with what you have. As for any other goal in life, you have to make a start and not wait until conditions are perfect or "the time is right." No matter how hopeless the situation may seem, doing something, even small, gives a group energy and purpose and optimism. I think that's why most of us started blogging. We wanted to do something, anything, to help further the cause.

Never go outside the experiences of your people -- they will be uncomfortable and give up the effort. If we conservatives took up the tactic of breaking windows, spraying graffiti and throwing rocks, we would "go outside the experiences of our people." Most of us would not participate.

Go outside the experiences of your opposition. Use tactics that the enemy doesn't expect; it will confuse and panic him. An example might be buying symphony tickets for a group of civil rights workers, feeding them beans, and having them noisily pass gas during the performance. This was actually considered by Alinsky's group.

One tactic he did use against a "slum lord" was to bus blacks into the man's white upscale neighborhood where they picketed with signs that said "Do you know your neighbor is a slum lord?" It worked.

Use tactics that are fun for your group. If your group enjoys the tactics, that definitely makes them more successful. Our recent round of TEA parties did this -- they were fun.

Keep the pressure on. Tactics shouldn't be terminal, once over, quickly forgotten. We must continue the Tea Parties and find new avenues for dissent. Alinsky recommends different tactics and actions, because a tactic can become overused and lose its effectiveness. The Left's old standby of calling everyone on the right "racist" is a good example of overuse. It has become a meaningless epithet and doesn't cause the panic and confusion it once invoked.

Pick a target and polarize it.  Most social or political conflicts are not all black and white but are diffused among a variety of factors, forces, people and circumstances. Reality, however, just won't do if we are to energize our group. To do that we must give them a simple slogan, idea or villain to attack. You must assume that you are 100% right and the opposition 100% wrong and you must personalize the attack and polarize your group. Alinsky explains: "One acts decisively only in the conviction that all the angels are on one side and all the devils on the other." That leads to his next point, or how to create a target for your group's vitriol.

Choose a villain and make him the scapegoat for everything you oppose. Alinksy writes: "Obviously there is no point to tactics unless one has a target upon which to center the attacks."

The Left did this very effectively in politically destroying Newt Gingrich after the 1994 Republican victories; they made him a scapegoat, a symbol of everything the Left hated, and he became a polarizing figure simply as a result of this propaganda. They tried very hard to do the same thing to George W. Bush and were fairly successful. These men served as the "target upon which to center the attacks."

This was much more effective than merely attacking the Republican Party as a whole; that wouldn't have been adequately personal or polarizing. This tactic is well illustrated by that old canard, "to kill a snake, cut off the head and the body dies as well."

Goad and ridicule your enemy to make him react. Alinsky says that ridicule is the most effective tactic because it causes anger and irrational responses in the opposition. It is in the enemy's reaction that you gain your greatest strength. Akinsky says that the one thing "that is certain to get him to react is to laugh at him. This causes an irrational anger." An angry, irrational reaction can be used to direct bad publicity at the enemy, to further ridicule him, to send him into a humiliating retreat. You gain support while your enemy loses it.

Remember how irrational that Seinfeld comic was when blacks insulted him during a comedy routine? He boiled over and started shouting racial insults at them, and almost destroyed his public persona in the process. If there is one thing we should all learn here is not to lose self-control when ridicule is used against us. Learn not to react, because that's what the enemy wants.

Another thing we should all learn here is to continue using ridicule against the Obama Administration, Nancy Pelosi and the Democrat Party. They furnish us with enough ammunition that we should never run out of jokes at their expense.

Pelosi was successful in bringing ridicule upon herself with her transparent attempt to avoid responsibility for waterboarding by claiming the CIA lied to her, "and that they lie all the time." She became angry and irrational, made foolish statements and made herself a public laughing stock. For the time being, at least, her credibility with the voting public is all but shot.

Ridicule helps the enemy destroy himself.

Update: See the RNC video ridiculing Nancy Pelosi's stand on the CIA. This is a good example of an effective use of ridicule against the enemy.

Hoist the enemy on his own petard. Highlight the fact that the enemy will say one thing and practice another. Their great rules of ethics, fair dealing and manners are mainly for show and they will abandon them under the pressure of the fight. Rub it in when they do and make them look like hypocrites. 

Some pertinent, recent examples: Al Gore preaching low carbon emissions while burning an obscene amount of energy is in own home; prominent Democrats who preach raising taxes on "the rich" while dodging their own huge tax liabilities.

Play one party against the other. Alinsky fought corporations by using their competition against them. If they were trying to unionize department stores in Chicago, they wouldn't picket them all simultaneously. They would picket one store, sending many of its customers to its competitors rather than endure the political shouting of a sign-wielding picket line. This tactic has been very succesful. It was used against General Motors, sending a lot of its customers to Chrysler.

There's more. I suggest that every conservative who wants to win the culture war buy a copy of this book. Not only will we be able to recognize the tactics used against us, we will be better able to devise defenses. We can also use the same tactics against them.  It's all about winning, baby. Let's be in it to win.

Freedom Ain't Free: American Tea Party Anthem

This was passed on to me by Infidel Bloggers Alliance. It's a swinging song with a gospel beat and all the energy and joy thereof. It was written by a black patriot, Lloyd Marcus. IBA is hoping it will go viral so do feel free to repost it on your own site.

Fighting Back: Baptist Church in NC Gives Islam Hell

Michelle Malkin has an interesting story today, about a Baptist Church in North Carolina that put out a sign denouncing Islam. One side of the sign says "Don't be deceived - The Message of 'Islam' is submit-convert-or die. Not salvation in Jesus Christ."

The opposite side reads "When is the last time you heard of a Jew or a Christian with a bomb strapped to their body?"

Needless to say, Muslims in North Carolina were offended. I wonder how offended they are at Muslim atrocities throughout the world, in Beslan or Thailand or Darfur?

My guess is "not very."

Here are some salient quotes from the article, with my comments:

Gary Murell put up the sign. He explained: "It was not put up there with the purpose of showing that we hate those people - It's not the people, it's the religion."

Murrell says it is a violent religion compared to Christianity. But not everyone agrees.

"I would really say that the actions of one individual really do not represent the Islamic faith," said Debbie Jaunich, with the Islamic Center of Raleigh. "The Islamic faith really calls for peace."

"It's sad to see that we still have this kind of ignorance in the community about the Islamic faith," she added.

Debbie Jaunich is full of beans. The Islamic faith does not, nor has it ever, called for peace. Tell that to the dead children of Beslan or the 2 million dead Christians of Darfur or the Indian Hindus and Thai Buddhists who are killed by Muslims almost daily.

Islam calls for perpetual war against all mankind until all people submit to Islam or become dhimmi slaves or die. Specifically, the Qur'an says:

"Jihad is holy fighting in Allah’s Cause with full force of numbers and
weaponry. It is given the utmost importance in Islam and is one of its pillars.
By Jihad, Islam is established, Allah’s Word is made superior (which means only
Allah has the right to be worshiped), and Islam is propagated. By abandoning
Jihad, Islam is destroyed and Muslims fall into an inferior position; their
honor is lost, their lands are stolen, their rule and authority vanish. Jihad is
an obligatory duty in Islam on every Muslim. He who tries to escape from this
duty, dies with one of the qualities of a hypocrite." (Qur'an, Surah 2:190) - as quoted at Prophet of Doom website.

The real teachings of Muhammad and the Qur'an say it is okay to lie about Islam (a practice known as taqiya) when you are in the minority and unable to assert Islamic rule. However, this feigned timidity is to be replaced with jihad once the Muslims have grown to sufficient numbers and strength. This strategy dovetails that of Muhammad when he was a resident of Mecca (before his exile to Medina) and despised by his own tribe, the Coreish, for subverting their ancient religion.

Kudos to the bravery of the NC Baptists for denouncing this evil in our midst. People are slowly awakening to the fact that Islam is not just another religion. If it were, few people would care what they believe as long as they were peaceful and tolerant of others who do not share their faith.

Again, quoting Craig Winn of Prophet of Doom:

suggests that Islam might be responsible for Muslim militancy. You may think, as
I once did, that all religions strike a balance between love and divine
