Finally, a video explaining Kimberlin's attempt to frame blogger Aaron Walker for a criminal act. A security camera disproved Kimberlin's false accusations and the charges were dropped, but the police refused to take action against Kimberlin for perjury and malicious prosecution.

 

When Book Burning is a GOOD THING, Glenn Beck

Last night I watched Glenn Beck.  He was discussing the Koran burning by Pastor Terry Jones and the subsequent murderous temper tantrum of the Muslims of Afghanistan.

Beck can be brilliant at times.  He can also be obtuse.  He labeled those who burn the Koran as "book burners."

Ah, the term "book burner" is one of those convenient phrases that remove the necessity of logical argument and rational thinking from any debate.  The  term simply brings up all the right images, i.e. negative ones.  Enough said.  No need to explain.

Well gee, didn't Nazis burn books?  Yes they did, primarily books by Jewish scholars.  Now we have a book, the Koran, that is highly antisemitic, filled with Jew hatred and whose author would have agreed with the Nazis, particularly about the "final solution."  But we can't burn it, because book burning in every case is a nefarious act.  Or is it?

Would it be a negative to burn Mein Kampf?   Or The Turner Diaries, the book that inspired Timothy McVeigh to blow up a federal building?  How about instructional manuals on how to build bombs to use in terrorism, or how to murder someone without getting caught?  Books on those subjects do exist.

What I am saying to Glenn Beck and others with their heads anally inserted is this:  book burning can be a very good thing.  It all depends on the book.  The Koran is one of those books that should be burned.

When Chris Wallace interviewed Glenn Beck on Fox News Sunday the day after his stunningly successful Restoring Honor event at the Lincoln Memorial, he told Beck that in all his years as a journalist in Washington, he had never seen anything quite like him.

I could relate his statement, because in my article Glenn Beck's Departure from Fox News (May 28, 2010), I said that Beck was "the biggest, fastest, most controversial star in the political commentary business in my lifetime" and pointed out that the White House purportedly referred to him as "the Beck problem."

But jealousy and the establishment have a way of Palinizing those who have the courage to take the road less traveled. So it's not surprising that rumors are now flying about Glenn Beck's ratings decline, his loss of major advertisers, and his possible end-of-year departure from Fox News. The word is that the powers that be at Fox supposedly want Beck to put a more positive spin on his commentaries.

Not long ago, neocon Bill Kristol took a shot at Beck when he said, "When Glenn Beck rants about the caliphate taking over the Middle East from Morocco to the Philippines, and lists the connections between caliphate-promoters and the American left, he's marginalizing himself." Kristol seems like a nice enough chap, but he's your classic establishment Republican who doesn't like newcomers saying things that go beyond the normal, meaningless beltway chatter.

Likewise, supercilious Bernard Goldberg, the one-trick-pony who, but for the grace of Bill O'Reilly, would long ago have faded into obscurity, recently made a snide comment that "Beck brings a lot of it on himself."

Really, Bernie? How? By showing actual videos of Van Jones preaching revolution? Of Anita Dunn saying she draws her inspiration from Mao Zedong? Of Mark Lloyd saying that he wants to go beyond the fairness doctrine? Of Frances Fox Piven advocating violence? Of George Soros bragging about how much he enjoys playing God?

This is the kind of stuff Beck has been showing every day for two years now, always encouraging his audience to check out the facts for themselves.

Though Beck is a multi-faceted individual, his greatest talent is that he's a master teacher. His Fox News shows are like going to college, but learning things they don't teach at the most expensive campuses in the country.

And therein, I believe, lies the crux of the problem. Beck is too good of a teacher, something Will Durant warned about when he said, "Woe to him who teaches men faster than they can learn." Most Americans are not yet ready to accept the truths Beck teaches, so they find it easier to dismiss him as a doomsayer or conspiracy nut.

As to the supposed decline in Beck's audience, if true, there could be many reasons for it. One that comes to mind is that, at some point along the way, Beck seemed to start priding himself on having relatively unknown guests on his show, sort of a way to confirm his purity by not having the same old faces that everyone else offers up.

Another is that, as time passed, Beck started having fewer and fewer guests of any kind on his show - known or unknown. Personally, I find his solos to be both educational and enjoyable. But many people have short attention spans and probably prefer to hear other voices engaged in a two- or three-way dialogue.

The bottom line for me is that Glenn Beck is still the most remarkable person on television, and I'm hoping he stays with Fox. But if the powers that be ever did insist that he put a more positive spin on his show (i.e., that he lie to his viewers), I believe his sense of honor would compel him to leave Fox. Beck is on a mission, and I think purity in thought, speech, and action are nonnegotiable with him.

As I said in an earlier article, I believe Beck when he says he will never give up. I believe him when he says if he is forced off television, he will find another platform that is even bigger. I believe him when he says he is willing to die if that's what it takes to speak the truth.

The big unknown remains his health - particularly his eyesight. It's going to be interesting to see if people look back on Glenn Beck as a shooting star or if his best years are yet to come. My guess is that it's the latter.

If so, you can expect the attempt to marginalize him - especially by neocons - to continue and intensify. Folks like Beck, Sarah Palin, and Michelle Bachmann - who don't follow the establishment's code of conduct or content - scare the hell out of both the left and the right.

Only a Fascist Would Oppose Nazi Immigration

I was too occupied being occupied this past week, so neglected to comment on Glenn Beck's comment about Geert Wilders.  Beck called Wilders a "fascist" for opposing all Islamic immigration into the Netherlands.  After all, not all Muslims are terrorists.   I believe Charles Krauthammer also voiced some similar naive nonsense.

That about does it for me with regards to Beck.  What a schmuck.  Wilders opposes Muslim immigration because of their core ideology of violence, hatred and subversion.  True, some are less enthusiastic about practicing it than others.  Heck, I even know a few Mormons who like to drink.  There's hope for everyone.

But facts are facts.  A lukewarm Muslim may see the light and become a zealot.  Many of them do.  Or their kids do.  They have this nasty little book called the Qur'an.  It tells them to ambush infidels, chop off their heads, rape their women, steal their booty, etc.  Apparently, there are some people who think all religion is good, even when it preaches and practices evil.

Would we hold the same immigration standard for millions of practicing Communists?  How about practicing cannibals?  Head hunters?  Practitioners of human sacrifice?  Practicing Nazis?  After all, not all of them were members of the SS.

No, of course not.

Should these nasty folk wish to come to America (or the Netherlands) and kill us, they will first need to establish their ideology as a religion.  Then it will be okay and even tax-exempt.  Just ask Glenn Beck.

Glenn Beck's Recipe for Sugar Cookies

Glenn Beck appeared on the Jay Leno show last night.  Beck gave his grandmother's recipe for sugar cookies, a favorite at Christmas time.  I found the recipe at Glenn Beck's website.  Here it is:

Grandma Janssens' Sugar Cookies

1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/3 cup sweet milk
2 level tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1 level tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp butter flavoring
4 1/2 cups flour and a little more for rolling

Roll out 1/8 inch thick. Cut and bake. You can mix these and let stand in refrigerator several hours or even over night.

Then mix everything together, or at least everything but the flour, and then add the flour and bake at 350 degrees. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.

"Crooks and Liars" Leftist Blog Disses Black Conservatives on Glenn Beck

One of the most odious, mendacious and leftwing blogs on the net is the appropriately named "Crooks and Liars."  David Neiwert of Crooks and Liars (or as I prefer to call them, "Crooks, Liars and Cowards") uses tortured logic to explain away the black conservatives on Beck's show last week.  In the process, he implies that Sarah Palin is a racist, that white people are not allowed to quote Martin Luther King, and that white people invented the N word to insult black people.

I need not rebut Neiwert here; that has been done already by Another Black Conservative, Left Coast Rebel and No Sheeples Here (see links below).  I will, however, address one of his misstatements of fact, the origin of the N word.  Neiwert writes:

Moreover, it wasn't black people who invented the "N word" or the segregation from enjoying the full fruits of American citizenship it represented -- it was white people. "African American" represents the recognition of their dignity and their rights as Americans.

Neiwert is wrong.  The N word was not invented by white people to insult black people; it simply evolved from the latin word niger, which means black. Originally, the word was used in a neutral context to refer to black people and was not intended to be an insult.  The word was used by black people themselves as a self-referential term, in the 18th and 19th centuries. It was not considered to be a pejorative term by the black populace of those times (who used the word heavily), but it subsequently became one when used by racists as a term of contempt.  Note that the Oxford English Reference Dictionary states:

Among Anglophones, the word was not always considered derogatory, because it then denoted “black-skinned”, a common Anglophone usage. Nineteenth-century English (language) literature features usages of [the word] without racist connotation. [For example the works of Mark Twain.]

Neiwert says Beck should study history.  I say someone as ignorant and uninformed as Neiwert shouldn't lecture anyone on what they ought to study.

Furthermore, the term "African-American" is divisive and subtly racist in its own right, as it verbally segregates black people and over emphasizes who their ancestors were and not who they are in the here and now.  I, for example, do not call myself a "European-American" as I do not identify with Europe.  Many black people feel the same way about the term "African-American."  They do not identify with Africa.

I am reminded of Sidney Poitier's 1967 performance, "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner?"  Poitier's character tells his father:  "You are my father.  I love you.  I always have.  But you see yourself as a colored man and I see myself as just a man."  Apparently, Neiwert agrees with the father.

Black Conservatives on Glenn Beck: Holding High Freedom's Torch!

Yesterday Glenn Beck devoted his Fox television show to black conservatives.  Some of our friends were there, notably Clifton and Maria.  Beck had surgery just a week before and was still in a lot of pain, so he changed the format for this one show.  Beck normally divides the audience on either side of him and then walks among the members of the audience, talking to many at random.  For this show, he remained seated in front of the audience to deal with the pain.  For that reason, our friends did not get any chance to comment or speak.  Beck, however, told the audience he wanted them all to come back for a future show.

The show was nevertheless inspirational.  There was a mayor of a town who said he didn't want to be thought of as "a black mayor," but merely a mayor.  A young man, perhaps of college age, talked about American Exceptionalism and opportunity and less government (he sounded just like me!).  I never thought I would see the day -- but I am so glad I did.

Several others spoke on similar themes.  These Americans were sincere about a post-racial society, of wanting to get beyond race as either a crutch or a weapon.  One young woman complained about all of the forms (for employment, for school admissions, etc) that ask applicants to describe their race.  She thought that question should be removed.

It was very comforting to see a whole room full of black conservatives, some of them sounding like fire-breathers (like me).  Perhaps the growing black conservative movement will someday reach critical mass and have a significant part in propelling this nation back towards its founding principles.  God bless them all!

Mary Baker Returns to Glenn Beck Show

Yesterday Mary Baker was back on the Glenn Beck show.   She is one of the "9/12 Moms" who attended a Tea Party demonstration a couple of weeks ago.

One of the moms that Beck interviewed said she went to the 9/12 Tea Party, not knowing a soul there, or so she thought.  Then she started seeing friends and neighbors in the crowd; they too were conservatives but she never knew it.  She said they constituted "the sisterhood of the patriotic mommies."  Catchy!

Mary Baker tells what it was like to meet Glenn Beck

Mary Baker has an inspirational post up today.  She tells what it was like to be contacted by the Glenn Beck show, then flying to New York for the first time and meeting Glenn Beck.  She tells what Glenn Beck is really like in person.   It's a fascinating read and is called "Glenn Beck: Not a Mad Man, But an American Man."

Clifton's Friend Mary Baker Appears on Glenn Beck Show

One of my best blogging buddies is Clifton of Another Black Conservative.  One of his friends and linked allies is Mary Baker, a black woman and fellow conservative who blogs at this link.  Mary describes herself this way:

I am a mother of 7 children, six of whom are grown and one I am currently homeschooling. I blog because the world needs to hear the voices of those who are conservative in the blogsphere. As Conservatives, we must stop allowing liberals to have command of public opinion in America and around the world. We must make our voices and opinions known. I love to talk about the events in our world from a Christian or conservative prospective. We hold a very distinct view from our liberal counterparts and must compassionately and effectively present those distinctions to the masses.

Earlier this month Mary had a post that was published at American Thinker called "Why I am no longer an African American."  Eschewing ethnic identity politics, Mary decided she was just an American.  Period.

Today Mary appeared on the Glenn Beck show on national television.  The subject of the Glenn Beck show was to discuss the concerns of Tea Party (9/12 Project) moms.  The show was interrupted by Obama's speech from the G20 summit, but not before Mary was invited to speak by Glenn Beck.  She did a fine job and looked great on national television, too.

The show had Glenn Beck talking to a roomful of women.  He joked that the show looked more like the Oprah Winfrey show than the Glenn Beck show.  There were several other black moms in the group besides Mary.  The black conservative movement continues to grow.

Congratulations to Mary Baker for her success as a blogger and for her appearance on the Glenn Beck show.  We will try to embed the Fox video when it is available.

Glenn Beck PWNs Charles Johnson of "Little Green Footballs"

Yesterday Glenn Beck stated that a frog thrown into a boiling pot of water would jump out.  It's an old political metaphor.  So he apparently picks a live frog from a container, throws it into the boiling water and surprise!  It doesn't jump out.  The poor frog was apparently killed by the stunt.

Charles Johnson of LGF ranted on his blog about Glenn Beck being a "frog killer."  However, had he watched the Beck segment carefully, he would have learned that the frog was fake.  It was made of rubber.  Charley had been PWN'd by Glenn Beck, a man that Charley despises.  Here's the video (hat tip to Blogmocracy.com):

Time Magazine: Covers for Propaganda

Clifton of Another Black Conservative asked me to write a guest article for his blog.  It's called "The Propaganda of Time Magazine Covers."  The latest Time visual propaganda was the cover featuring Glenn Beck sticking his tongue out.  However, this was only one in a long line of anti-Republican themes.

Glenn Beck Boycott a Failure for the Left; Little or No Effect on Ad Revenue

Some leftist organization called Color of Change organized a boycott of Glenn Beck's Fox News show a few weeks ago.  They are now claiming that Fox has lost 50% of its revenues as major advertisers pull out.  However, Fox News says those figures were released by "Color of Change" and are wildly inaccurate.  Fox News says there has been no loss of revenue as a result of the lib temper tantrum.

Leftist websites have been crowing about their great victory over free speech for the past two days.  Sorry to rain on your parade, Libtards, but it's just another left wing illusion.  Meanwhile, Beck's viewing audience continues its rapid growth unabated.
