Democrat Candidate Jim Webb: "Dems Have Moved Way Far to the Left --- That's Not My Democratic Party"

Jim Webb of Virginia may be the best Democratic candidate since JFK.  He is the only candidate in either party to speak with common sense, reverence and truth about Southern heritage.  He has defended the Confederate flag in the past.  I would seriously consider voting for him.  He said:

“To tar the sacrifices of the Confederate soldier as simple acts of racism, and reduce the battle flag under which he fought to nothing more than the symbol of a racist heritage, is one of the great blasphemies of our modern age.”

If the Dems are smart, they will nominate him.  He could be the Democrat to take back the "Solid South" and restore the Democratic Party to the great American institution that it once was.

Operation Jade Helm: Will Russia Intervene to Support Texas Secession?

There are some interesting stories on the web that should be taken with a grain of salt.  Or many grains of salt.

One is about the U.S. Army's training exercise, code named "Jade Helm," going on in Texas.  Some fear that Obama is planning to occupy Texas to keep it from seceding.  Or something.  It is not totally out of the question that Jade Helm is a practice exercise to invade Texas if that state tries to secede from the Union.  The most serious secession movement (and there are several) ongoing right now is that of Texas.  I doubt that Texas would secede unless the progressives do something really objectionable.  However, I wouldn't put it past the leftists in government to do that.  Confiscate all guns from private citizens, for example, or declare open borders with Mexico, or give all illegal immigrants the right to vote in U.S. elections, or if Obama declares martial law for some reason.

Another tale is that the Russian Navy will be operating off the coastal waters of Texas to support the Texans in the event that they secede and are invaded by the U.S.  Putin is a bit crazy, but is he that crazy?  Who knows.  He almost seems intent on provoking hostilities with the U.S.

I will be watching these stories with interest, if they last that long.

Confederate Soldiers Are U.S. Veterans, by an Act of Congress: Desecration of Their Graves is Therefore a Felony

Here's an interesting article from the Washington Weekly News:  Confederate soldiers and marines were officially made equal to U.S. Veterans by an act of Congress in 1957.  Desecration of their graves (and possibly their monuments and memorials) is therefore a felony.  Tell that to the Memphis City Council who has voted to remove the grave and monument of Nathan Bedford Forrest.

It is time to frog-march SC Governor Nikki Haley to the hoosegow?  I'd love to see that.

Another thought:  once the men with shovels show up at Forrest's grave, we can place them all under citizen's arrest.  Then proceed to the City Council meeting where we will do the same to the members.

Walmart to Melt All Class Rings With Confederate Flags

The anti-flag hysteria continues.  BOYCOTT WALMART!

This just in from Fox News:

An Arkansas woman who went to pick up the class ring she ordered from Walmart left disappointed, after store officials told her the retailer's new policy barred them from turning the item over -- because it bore an image of the Confederate flag.

Elaine Glidewell told KFSM someone from the store in Fort Smith called her to pick up the ring she'd ordered for her nephew, but when she arrived on Tuesday, a clerk told her she couldn’t have it. The ring had been ordered before Walmart stopped selling items bearing images of the flag, in the wake of controversy that stemmed from a racially-charged shooting in South Carolina.

“I wanted to cry,” Glidewell told KFSM, adding that the store clerk said the ring would be "melted."

In 1864, Confederate General Patrick Cleburne warned his fellow southerners of the historical consequences should the South lose their war for independence. He was truly a prophet. He said if the South lost, “It means that the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy. History revisionists flooded America’s public schools with Northern propaganda about the people who attempted to secede from the United States, characterizing them as racists, extremists, radicals, hatemongers, traitors, etc. You know, the same way that people in our federal government and news media attempt to characterize Christians, patriots, war veterans, constitutionalists, et al. today.
