Alex Jones of Infowars

I like arguing with liberals, leftists and Democrats on Twitter.  It's good practice for condensing your arguments to a few potent phrases, since you are limited in space.

Twitter also makes it clear what propaganda the left is pushing on a daily basis.  Right now the themes seem to run along these lines:

1.  Trump has started a "Deportation Task Force" to revoke the citizenship of those he deems undesirable.  One immediately gets the impression that ole "RAAACIST" Trump is plotting to send all those legal Mexican immigrants packing, because let's face it, if you are against illegal immigration from Mexico, it means you are against legal immigration as well.  That's because, in the minds of the left, only "racism" can be the reason for opposing illegals.

It isn't true, of course.  What is true is that the Department of Homeland Security has become aware that some foreigners have lied on the applications for citizenship, and some have even used fake identities, to gain entrance after being deported a first time.  Material misrepresentations on a citizenship application can allow citizenship to unsavory characters who would never have been approved if the facts were known.  No one can be deported without a court hearing, and Trump cannot deport anyone on his own.

2.  ICE is now even reaching into the Army to nab illegals and deport them.   This fable was debunked a couple of months ago, but still persists among those who avoid real news.  The Army was enlisting foreigners for military service and eventual citizenship, but some of the applicants didn't pass the background check.  So they were not allowed to enlist, and were sent packing.  No serving army soldiers were nabbed and deported.  However, the liberal big lie continues among the sheep.

3.  Censorship of Conservatives has reached a fever pitch.  It appears the big tech firms, Spotify, FaceBook, iTunes and YouTube have colluded to shut down Infowars.com and Alex Jones.  All of his accounts were shut down on the same day, for "hate speech" and violation of the Terms of Service.  It is pretty clear that the leftists in media have declared war on conservative thought and speech.

I am not a huge fan of Alex Jones, because of his conspiracy theories (he was one of the first to claim that 911 was "an inside job").  So I take him with a grain of salt.  However, I have never thought of him as a monger of hatred or anyone preaching violence.  We fear that Alex Jones is the canary in the coal mine, and that he is just the start of a purge.  Will the Drudge Report be next?

Lots of Nonsense About Mental Health on the Web Following the School Shooting

Every time some psychopath goes postal and starts murdering innocents, a lot of self-appointed mental health "experts" come out of the woodwork to rail against the evil of psychotropic drugs, particularly SSRI's (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) -- drugs like Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil and Cymbalta.  There is a school of thought on the wacky right that has built a near-religion around the demonization of these drugs, almost on a par with 911 trutherism and Alex Jones style paranoia, and with the same willful ignorance of facts.

Invariably one of these drugs will be prescribed to someone who is quite unbalanced in the off chance that it may help the patient with his mental problems.  Then the person becomes violent and kills someone, and the ignoramuses start screaming about the SSRI being the cause.  One might as well argue that bandaids cause cuts, or aspirins headaches.  The fact that the SSRI was ineffective in a particular case does not mean it was the cause of the violence.  It has been said  many times before and needs to be repeated once again:  Correlation is not causation.  Don't put 2 and 2 together and get 5.

An SSRI does one thing only:  it increases the amount of the brain hormone serotonin in the synapses -- your own serotonin that is produced by your very own brain.  The brain puts the hormone into your synapses and then reabsorbs it.  An SSRI inhibits the reabsorption, leaving more of the hormone in your synapses for a longer period of time. Without enough serotonin, a person goes into clinical depression and/or experiences anxiety attacks.  These conditions are very unpleasant:  the patient is in psychic pain, often to an extreme degree.  Suicide may be the result.  However, I have never heard of someone who is clinically depressed committing mass murder.  Clinical depression is not psychosis; it is a chemical imbalance in the brain, and it cannot be fixed with positive thinking or wishful thinking, because not every function of the brain is subject to the conscious will.

What does cause maniacs like Adam Lanza, James Eagan Holmes, Jared Loughner, Seung Hui-Cho, Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris to commit mass murder?  I put the question to my cousin, a psychiatrist and M.D. in Dallas, Texas.  He said the major cause of such events is rage.  The angrier a person is, the more irrational they become.  Their brains shift into the rage/kill software program.  Where does the rage come from?  From a malfunctioning brain, where delusions seem very real and where emotions may be totally out of all proportion to external stimuli.  Insanity is not completely understood and cures for it not well defined.  What works for one patient may not work on another.

Apparently, a psychopath and a psychotic are not one and the same thing.  They're both pretty messed up mentally, but a psychopath is mean and angry his whole life.  They have little or no empathy for other human beings and enjoy causing others to suffer.  Psychotics may have trouble differentiating reality from delusion, but most psychotics are not dangerous.  It is difficult to predict who will become so, and so mass institutionalization of psychotics is not considered a practical solution to preventing violence.  My cousin says we would need to know a lot of Lanza's personal history to diagnose him, but at first glance Lanza seems to be a paranoid psychotic rather than a psychopath.  Not that it matters much now:  crazy is as crazy does.

By way of disclosure, I have clinical depression and take generic Zoloft, an SSRI.  I have been taking it for 15 years.  It has some side effects that I do not like, namely, dizziness and lethargy.  Those are my side effects, not every patient suffers the same ones from the same drug.  We all have a different and unique biochemistry.  I plan to try Cymbalta as an alternative, on the advice from my cousin, the psychiatrist.  I can assure the Alex Jones amateur psychologists out there that their only danger from me is sarcasm.

White Pride World Wide: Ron Paul and the Politics of White Power

As Ron Paul moves up in the polls, conservatives are vetting him and saying that Paul has a dark past and a shaky present.

Apparently, in the 1980's and 1990's, Paul either authored, or allowed others to author, newsletter articles in his name, expressing hostility to non-white people.  Hot Air has the story here.

Hot Air quotes Ron Paul complaining that only about 5% of blacks vote right.  The quote ends with this:

Paul also wrote that although “we are constantly told that it is evil to be afraid of black men, it is hardly irrational. Black men commit murders, rapes, robberies, muggings and burglaries all out of proportion to their numbers.”

Hot Air doesn't explain why this quote is erroneous but, liberal-like, simply put it out there as if the wrongfulness or immorality of the quote is obvious for all to see.

But the quote isn't wrong.  Blacks do indeed vote overwhelmingly Democratic, and 95% sounds about right.  Also, black crime is indeed "out of proportion to their numbers."  Read any FBI report of nationwide crime statistics based on race.

What is wrong with the quote is that it does not even hint at a solution to the problem of black crime.  Its only purpose seems to be engendering hostility towards the black race.  Now, if Paul were arguing that public disclosure of black crime would help suppress black crime, through the shame factor, that would put the statistics into a better context.  Or if he were advocating an honest discussion on race for the purpose of solving related problems -- that would make his comments helpful instead of provocative.  An honest discussion of race is what we need, not a P.C. ain't-it-awful approach like that of Hot Air.

Hot Air also vettes Ron Paul's stand on Israel:

Stating that lobbying groups who seek special favors and handouts are evil, Paul wrote, “By far the most powerful lobby in Washington of the bad sort is the Israeli government” and that the goal of the Zionist movement is to stifle criticism.

On this point, I agree with Hot Air that the comment is over the top.  I doubt that it is even true (that Israel is the most powerful lobby in Washington).  In any case, Congress should support Israel.  Israel is a force for good in the world.  However, although I disagree with the comment, I don't find it to be a campaign-ending outrage.

Hot Air makes some solid points against Paul by pointing to his friendly relations with Stormfront, a Neo-Nazi organization. Stormfront's motto is "White Pride World Wide."  Oh yes, I am so proud of my epidermis. When I die, I intend to have myself skinned and my white hide tacked to the wall for others to admire.  Or, as an old Aussie song goes:

            Tan me hide, when I'm dead, Fred

            Tan me hide when I'm dead.

            So we tanned his hide when he died, Clyde,

            and that's it hanging on the shed.

Now I am not ashamed of being white, not one bit.  Europeans and their descendants have done much to advance civilization and knowledge.  I will truck no racism against white people, nor give credence to anti-white sentiments from other epidermal persuasions.

However, the white supremacists seem to think, quite wrongly, that if you are of a different race than I am, then we must be enemies, that different races must hate each other due to some inherent tribal instinct.  Oh horse radish.  Such a philosophy can produce nothing good.

So, in conclusion, Ron Paul isn't completely wrong about black crime and discussing it isn't immoral, though it may be politically disadvantageous.  Society is not yet ready to discuss race, no matter how badly we need this discussion.  I do believe that Paul is somewhat anti-semitic, a trait of the paleoconservative movement of which he is a part.  That in itself would be enough for me to pass him by.

More troubling is Ron Paul's association with conspiracy nutcases like Alex Jones, who isn't merely a 911 "Truther" on steroids.  Jones is nuts and belongs in a rubber room.

Ron Paul could never be elected president with his associations.  Let's not even go there.

9/11 Truthers Revealed to Actually Be String Puppets; a False Fag Operation

I watched an interesting episode of the History Channel  tonight, one that debunked the 9/11 "Truther" Movement and their 9/11 conspiracy theories.  I absolutely detest conspiracy theories, except my own of course, which are the only ones that are true and correct.  I have heretofore believed that the 9/11 Truthers, including the pimple-faced frat boys of "Loose Change" fame, to be slightly lower on the moral scale than cockroaches.

Here is my conspiracy theory.   The 9/11 Truth movement is a conspiracy itself.  I have it from a good source that when the planes hit the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001, that Alex Jones was working the east side of Manhattan, dressed in drag, with a purple feather boa, high heels, dangling earrings and bright red lipstick.  Needing new recruits for his 9/11 I'm-Batshit-Crazy movement, Jones had planned to disguise himself as a gay man in drag, attract gays, and then when the gays were least expecting it, begin handing out pamphlets, e.g. "9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB" and preaching the new religion of Controlled Demolition.

Before he could shanghai any gays, however, his wig fell off, revealing a rather strange looking man beneath the make up.  Gay men screamed warnings to each other, saying "It's a FALSE FAG operation!  Run for your lives!"

Next, I have it on good authority that "Loose Change" (sometimes referred to as "Loose Nut") author Dylan Avery is actually a string puppet.  He doesn't actually exist as a real human being, probably put together in a very realistic fashion by puppeteers from Hollywood.  If you look at pictures of Dylan  Avery and increase the resolution several times, you will note strings attached to his ears, his mouth, his cute little puppet legs.  This explains how he is able to dance around the truth with such great skill, immediately adapting to every giant hole blown into his theories by people who aren't crazy.

Yes, I used to hate cockroaches until the 9/11 Truther movement came along.  Now cockroaches seem downright nice by comparison.

"The Obama Deception": Pure Paranoia, Demagoguery & Hokum (or "Alex Jones Is Still Nuts")

At the urging of one of my cousins, I watched the film by Alex Jones, "The Obama Deception."  It is crazy propaganda, a conspiracy theory on steroids.  I estimate that 40% of the film is paranoia, 40% sheer hokum, 10% sheer lunacy and 10% somewhat truthful.  The truthful parts, however, have their credibility seriously eroded by the other reckless and insubstantial claims.

It is an almost two hour long video screed of how a high cabal of international bankers rule the world behind the scenes, orchestrating every war, every financial collapse, every political upheaval.  This cabal is called such things as "the Wall Street Oligarchs," "the banking cartel," "the globalists" or simply "the elite."

The alleged reach of this cabal is amazing.  For example, they are described as being behind every dictator inspired war since Napoleon; they controlled not only Napoleon, but Hitler, Stalin, FDR, George Bush, and now, Barack Obama.  How and why the cabal did this is never explained.

Barack Obama is described as the most pro-Wall Street president in U.S. history, a mere puppet to the cabal, who slavishly carries out their wishes.

The conspiracists, mysteriously in control of market forces, caused gasoline prices to soar to over $4 a gallon a couple of years back.  They are now orchestrating the recession while they seek the financial collapse of the entire world.  Once it does collapse, they will buy up all of the world's productive assets and reduce all of us to a kind of slavery.

Of course, they ran the "false flag" operation called 9/11 (the "inside job" theory).  They assassinated both Lincoln and Kennedy for resisting the control of international bankers.  Al-Qaeda is described in passing as "an arm of the U.S. intelligence community."  What a bunch of frigging idiots.

This tiresome film does not explain why or how or even what is to be accomplished by this giant conspiracy, or what we should do about it.  It just wants us to be as paranoid as its authors.

This notion of a "high cabal" operating behind the scenes, controlling world events, is nothing new.  Robert Welch of the John Birch Society used to say that the (real) international communist conspiracy was only a front for the real villains, a high cabal known as the Illuminati.  The "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" was an anti-semitic fraud that sought to prove that Jews were a high cabal seeking to control everything.  Then there are the Masons, often accused of being a secret society with global-political goals, the Bilderbergs, the Skull and Crossbones Society, the Knights Templar, Alexander's Rag Time Band and Joe's Bar & Grill, among others.  Get a program; you can't tell your global conspiracists without a program.

There are indeed forces that wish to erode the sovereignty of western democracies, to be replaced with international laws and courts; the Kyoto Protocol, for instance, was one; the Law of the Sea is another; and a proposed world court in which American forces could be tried for crimes still another.  Cap and trade and global warming are a subterfuge by which income redistribution is to finally be achieved, making the world socialist and accomplishing the economic goals of Marxism under false pretenses.  But Jones & Co go way too far.

Alex Jones and his cabal of talking heads express many opinions in this film, few of which are supported by any facts or evidence.  In many ways they are more leftwing than rightist:  they despise Wall Street, oppose U.S. participation in any and all wars, despise corporations and are opposed to trade treaties like NAFTA.  They not only dislike their own government, they seem to hate it.

The "Obama Deception" is almost pure demagoguery.  Don't waste your time.
