Let's Hear It For the Militias!

Kirk Lyons, Southern Legal Resource Center
I have been advocating for the organization of militias for some time.  The reason is simple:  Obama and other leftists have been exceeding their constitutional authority at an increasing pace.  We are in danger of serious degradation of our rights under the First and Second Amendments.  Recently, Democrats in Congress have been making noise about suppressing opinions that are critical of Muslims and their murderous ideology, all while bringing in thousands more of them.  Obama is attacking gun rights through executive orders.  Further, many of us halfway expect the police to show up at our doors at any moment, demanding that we hand over our guns.

This past week a group of militia members took over a federal facility in Oregon, to protest illegal federal "ownership" of state lands, and to protest the re-internment of two farmers who were sent to prison for starting a burn-off on their own land that inadvertently spread to federal lands (so-called). After serving their sentences, a federal judge decided that they had not served enough time, and ordered them returned to prison.

The Kansas City Star has an article on the latest militia-federales standoff, calling the militia members "anti-government extremists," and quoting the laughable, discredited Southern Poverty Law Center to the effect that it's all connected to white supremacists.

The Star's article mentions a FaceBook friend of mine, Kirk Lyons, lawyer, Confederate activist and head of the Southern Legal Resource Center (of which I am a member).  I was chatting with Kirk just last week, about his collection of 19th century photographs -- tintypes, ambrotypes, daguerrotypes, etc.  Liberals hate Lyons with extreme ferocity, as he sues people and institutions that discriminate against people flying the Confederate flag.  However, some years back, Kirk Lyons defused a similar militia-federal standoff by negotiating the surrender of the militia members, the Montana Freemen.  There is talk that he may be used again to negotiate with the Oregon militia members.

Maybe it's just me, but the militia members don't seem like "extremists" to me.  The federal government does, however.

Fourteen States Preparing For Secession or Rebellion Against Federal Tyranny - Maybe #Secession

A site called "Before It's News" is reporting that fourteen states have begun reestablishing autonomous "State Defense Forces," i.e. state-run militaries that take their orders, not from the United States, but from their respective state governors.  Reportedly, Obama is fearful of these State Defense Forces because he does not control them.  Also, the article reports, Obama has sent warning notices to these fourteen governors to halt such actions immediately or face arrest for "treason."

Allegedly, the two governors leading this State Defense Force initiative are Rick Perry of Texas and Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota.  Ken Larive of "Before It's News" reports:
The two Governors leading this move are: Tim Pawlenty, Governor of Minnesota; and Rick Perry, Governor of Texas. Both of these State Governors stated they have: “…deep fear the President is destroying their Nation.” Governor Pawlenty’s fear of Obama is that since Obama took office he has appeased America’s enemies and has shunned some of America’s strongest allies, especially Israel. Governor Perry has declared that Obama is punishing his State of Texas by dumping tens-of-thousands of illegal Mexican immigrants into the cities and small towns of Texas. Governor Perry further recently stated: “If Barack Obama’s Washington doesn’t stop being so oppressive, Texans might feel compelled to renounce their American citizenry and secede from the union.”
If there is any truth to this report, it would appear that we are moving in the direction of another Civil War.  However, I am taking this report with a large grain of salt -- but I do hope that it's true!

Your Lives Are About to Get Much Worse, Americans

Monty Pelerin at American Thinker has a very depressing analysis of what Obama's re-election means to Americans (hat tip Donald Douglas at American Power).  Pelerin, like others, is predicting an economic collapse.  He writes:
His election ensures the continuing shift away from the Rule of Law, property rights, free men, and free markets. Obama's vision of how the world works ensures a dire economy until an economic collapse resets everything.
And this:
The United States and Europe have abandoned the fundamentals necessary for progress. Both are hopelessly committed to the failed ideas of Socialism. Both are headed for great catastrophe. The catastrophe extends beyond economic well-being and touches the foundations of society and civilization itself.

We are headed into an economic dark age, where standards of living will continue to decline and may collapse. Societies and civilizations will also regress.
Read the whole depressing article here.

Another article at Doug Ross Journal portrays a similar scenario, "We Have Lost" by Casey.  Casey writes:
The most productive people, the small business owners, the entrepreneurs and the honest wage earners of America are so demoralized right now I am not sure we will recover as a country. We have lost the most important election of our lifetime and did so after giving our best effort, spent the most money ever and working the hardest we have ever worked. The very people that America needs the most to generate a real recovery now have the least motivation to do so and worse, lack the confidence necessary to even justify the effort.
On polarization, he writes:
As a country we are hopelessly divided by a malignant polarization approaching that which divided us prior to the Civil War....The American can-do spirit, our optimism, our traditional dependence on our own ingenuity is now mere kindling on the advancing flame of an insidious yet steadily advancing socialism.
On the feeling of despair many now have:
Those of us who create real jobs, invest our capital, our fortunes and take the risks to build America, feel betrayed. The fundamentals of honest effort and hard work rendering the rewards associated with capitalism seem now like a cruel joke. We are now a targeted enemy not to be governed but coerced into submission by a lazy, corrupt, vindictive, arrogant government that is out for revenge, redistribution -- and to add a final insult -- one we believe is too morally bankrupt to lead.
Do read it all here.

Politics as usual is unlikely to turn the tide in time to avoid financial disaster and societal collapse.  Radical action may be necessary at some point, like the fledgling secession movements now underway.  Political protests of Obama's re-election are said to be proliferating -- that remains to be seen.  We must encourage their growth.  The legislatures of the red states must discuss and coordinate a unified refusal to cooperate with the radical regime now in Washington, including nullification of unconstitutional laws like Obamacare, open defiance of the Supreme Court's unconstitutional edicts, and suspension of the taxing authority of the federal government if that becomes necessary.  Note:  this is NOT a call for violence.  Our actions must proceed mainly through our state and local representatives.  Individual protests should proceed in peaceful ways, like this one.

We will not go gently into the dark night that looms before us.  We have not yet begun to fight.

Dems Have the Votes: We Move from Opposition to Active Resistance

According to Roll Call, the Democrats now have more than the 216 votes they needed to pass Marxist health care.

We now move from opposition into active resistance:  nullification, litigation, civil disobedience and open refusal to go along, possibly leading to secession of some states.  I suspect this will lead to new political associations and alliances, some of which cannot be immediately foreseen.  Imagine a new coalition of states willing to share state militias and national guards for their common defense against Washington.

It could happen, but only if it becomes obvious there is no legal redress at the ballot box or before the Supreme Court.  A ballot box revolution is preferable to a shooting one.  However, I suspect we will have our revolution sooner or later, in one form or the other.

A Conservative Teacher writes:
Some Democrats, liberals, and Loyalists even seem a little scared that the continual erosion of liberties and freedom and the increasing taxes and regulations and fees might even spark a revolution. They accuse these patriots of being divisive, feeling that people should just roll over when faced by a determined tyrant.
America was built on the concept of "the consent of the governed."  With the coming of socialism, many of us consent no longer.

The Battle for America: Already Lost?

The Democrats are moving heaven and earth to pass their socialized medical bill, using highly dubious means that appear unconstitutional and ruthless.  Anger over this is at the boiling point, not only among conservatives, but many Americans of differing political persuasions.

I, however, remain calm.  I suppose it's because I have almost reconciled myself to the end of America as we know it.  The situation, as I see it, is no longer to defeat the socialist juggernaut that sees its goals within reach, but to find ways to nullify and resist the increasingly tyrannical rule being foisted upon us.

Many states are planning to sue the federal government over Obamacare, and constitutional challenges to its passage are being planned.  Obama's impeachment is now being discussed as a real possibility.  We should try and remove this radical leftist from the presidency by any legal means possible.  He is a disaster, just as we predicted he would be.

It is obvious that the Democrats' pursuit of a new, socialist America will not be deterred by the will of the people or the unpopularity of their schemes.   The question now is how can we best resist and nullify the damage that they have wrought.

A Message to Liberals: I WILL NOT OBEY

There comes a time in political life when respecting "the law" must end. That is when "the law" is blatantly unconstitutional and so destructive of human rights and liberty that obeying "the law" would be a crime. These are the times when "civil disobedience" is called for, a principle now being demonstrated in the bloody streets of Tehran.
Therefore, I at this time would like to announce my brazen and blatant disobedience to illegal laws passed or planned by the Obama Administration.

I WILL NOT OBEY WHEN:
1. When "the law" says I must turn in my guns, I WILL NOT OBEY.
2. When "the law" says I must pay a significant portion of my income to losers and layabouts under some "Cap and Trade" scheme, I WILL NOT OBEY.
3. When "the law" says I am prohibited from publicly criticizing Islam or liberalism, I WILL NOT OBEY.
4. When "the law" says I must abide nationalized health care in order to get medical treatement, I WILL NOT OBEY.
5. When "the law" says I must drastically reduce my standard of living to alleviate non-existent "global warming" I WILL NOT OBEY.

We can stymy the goals of this evil, unamerican administration by refusing to meekly go along with its program. CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE NOW!

It is time to proudly adopt the label of REBEL and take the pledge of Civil Disobedience to Democratic Fascism.
