Lesson of San Jose: Time to Deport the Illegals

In my former hometown of San Jose yesterday, illegal aliens (aka "wetbacks") and their leftist supporters attacked Trump fans.  Trump voters were punched, or had rocks or eggs thrown at them.  I wasn't there, and it's probably great that I wasn't.  If ever we needed free carry of firearms, now is the time.  The illegals have gotten way out of hand, as happens in a "sanctuary city" where U.S. immigration laws are deliberately unenforced.  The illegal scum have an enormous sense of entitlement, and why not?  Jerry Brown and his democratic fascist followers have made it easy for illegals to vote in this state.  They can sign up when they get their California drivers license.

Liberal politicians are a kind of acid that is slowly dissolving our country.  Yes, I am voting for Trump.  The condition of the country is increasingly desperate, and the Presidency is not a job for wimps.

My Letter to Governor Jerry Brown Re: Banning the Confederate Flag

Today I finally had enough, and wrote to Governor Brown.  That correspondence is below.

Re:  Proposed Ban on Confederate Flag in California

Dear Governor Brown:

I understand that a bill to ban the Confederate flag in California has been passed by the state legislature.  It now sits on your desk awaiting signature.  I am asking you not to sign it.  It is a blatant violation of the First Amendment, and if passed, we will litigate the matter in federal court.  You will lose.

The Confederate flag is a sacred heritage symbol to millions of Americans, both white and black, particularly those who are descendants of Confederate soldiers, sailors and marines.  We do not display it to offend anyone, or to express hatred of anyone, but as a symbol of who we are and where we came from.  It is a tribe symbol, representing our families, our ancestors, our people, their culture and their history.  If some are offended by the sight of the Confederate flag, you can be sure that we are equally offended by their uninformed and unfounded hostility.  They pretend to know what’s in our hearts, and they haven’t the slightest idea.  Their efforts to ban the flag both insult us and slander us.

Those who seek to ban the flag do so out of ignorance, and seek to make their ignorance the law of the land.  They seek to politicize American history, making any alternative views of that history illegal, shameful and suppressed.  Such efforts are totalitarian and oppressive, no matter how “honorable” they pretend to be.  

For the sake of freedom of expression, inquiry and association, please do not sign that bill.

Governor Jerry Brown Calls for Higher Taxes and Deeper Cuts for California

All is not well in the Land of Fruits and Nuts.

Governor Brown announced that the California budget deficit has now reached 16 million dollars and that deeper cuts may be necessary.  He said:

"This means we will have to go much further, and make cuts far greater, than I asked for at the beginning of the year."

Of course, we can always raise taxes and that's exactly what Democrats prefer when the credit card has been maxed out -- just increase the max.  The article continues:

Brown has said there will be even deeper cuts, mostly to public education, if voters do not improve tax hikes in November. He is seeking a quarter-cent increase in the state sales tax for four years and a seven-year hike on incomes of $250,000 or more that will range from 1 to 3 percentage points. He says the measure would raise $9 billion in the upcoming budget year.

I intend to vote against the tax increases, as I always do.  Instead of tax increases on an already outbound business population, who are moving in droves to more business-friendly states, we should simply curtail the state employee labor unions.  Reduce the size of their salaries, benefits and certainly their retirement, which greatly exceed that for similar work in private industry.

However, to do so would be to alienate a key Democrat constituency, which has no problem with draining the state coffers dry and taxing the public until they bleed.

Some Downers Among Our Great Victory

I am happy to see the Republican wave swamping liberals nationwide.  However, here in California it is only depression for conservatives.  Barbara Boxer won reelection, and Jerry Brown is back in as Governor Moonbeam.  The state will continue its downward spiral into insolvency, unemployment and high taxes.

Other downers are that Harry Reid and Barney Frank, two of the vilest members of the far left, also won reelection.  Needless to say, I won't be joining those who have left the state for Nevada.

I am going to bed and watch the election returns on Fox until I fall asleep.  Tomorrow I will think about my continuing future here in the Land of Fruits and Nuts.

One More Week Before the Vote

It's hard to believe, but the last two years of waiting is almost at an end.  One week from today we go to the polls to express our electoral disgust at the way Obama and the Democrats have destroyed the economy.

The buzz is that California will be a hold out in this next Republican revolution -- they will proudly and stubbornly be wrong once again.  While Californians struggle with 22% unemployment, free soup kitchens and food banks, they will nevertheless vote for the party who made their poverty possible.  My disgust for the California electorate knows no bounds; they are firmly, solidly and reflexively leftist.

As soon as the mortgage company kicks us out of this house, I will have to move somewhere.  Maybe that somewhere should be somewhere else.  Texas, perhaps.  Suggestions are welcome.

Los Angeles Times Poll (Showing Brown Blow-Out) Oversampled Latinos

Ah, the games you can play with polls.  The leftist Los Angeles Times released a poll yesterday showing Jerry Brown with a double-digit lead over Meg Whitman in the race for governor of California.  Other polls, however, released at the same time, show the race much closer than that.  Oversampling of Democrats or Republicans can give a biased poll result, one that does not represent the actual state of the electorate.  The LA Times poll oversampled latinos and obtained the desired skewed result, no doubt to encourage a larger Democrat turnout on November 2nd.

Brown and Boxer's Campaign Ad Blitz

In the last two weeks before the elections, Jerry Brown and Barbara Boxer are hammering their Republican opponents with attack ads.  It seems to be working:  Boxer is up by 2 to 4 points over Carly Fiorina and Brown is up by 5 to 7 points over Meg Whitman.  Those who want continued economic stagnation for the Golden State will have their wish.  We will continue to have high taxes and anti-business politics in California, with the result that both employers and taxpayers will continue fleeing the state.

The only slim hope is that the Californians who support the old socialist retreads will stay home on November 2nd.

How could most Californians support politicians and policies that have turned the state into an economic basket case?  You have to understand the California mindset.  Being fashionable, trendy and au courant is far more important to Californians than whether they have jobs.   Voting is not only a democratic act, it is also a fashion statement.  Political ignorance is considered political brilliance.  And when most Californians shove their heads straight up their asses, this is considered a tantric yoga position and a key element of the kama sutra.

To the uninitiated, this difficult meditative position appears to be the machinations of the politically insane.  To enlightened, tantric-sensitive, kama sutra practitioners (also known as "Californians"), this key yoga position is a sign of great enlightenment.  Most Californians assume this position just before making important political decisions.  Millions are expected to assume the position just before entering the voting booths on November 2nd.  Then after they have voted Jerry Brown, Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi to new terms in office, the voters will assume a different tantric yoga position:  down on all fours.

Occasionally I hear friends or band mates mumbling about how they will move out of the state if Meg Whitman is elected governor. I have to wonder what on earth they are thinking.  Are they against jobs and prosperity?  What do they think creates prosperity?

In all probability, they won't have to move out of the state.  Brown will be elected in this uber-blue state.  It will be I who will have to leave the state, following the outward flood of businesses and citizens out of Moonbat Heaven.

Those outbound businesses are leaving for good reason.  California is hostile and punishing to business.  Business is what gives people jobs and creates products and services that make our lives easier, and creates tax revenues in the process.  That's something our bankrupt state needs to keep paying the bloated benefits of our militant unionized state workers.  Californians, however, have a long history of shooting themselves in the foot.  They will vote for the opposite of what California needs.  So what are the choices for governor in November?

On the one hand, we have Moonbat Brown, who has never created a job or met a payroll in his life, whose legislative career has been about suing businesses and increasing taxes, organizing farm workers and Vietnam war protests.   Brown is one of those insular leftists who hasn't a clue as to how the economy works. He doesn't understand economic theory, let alone its actual practice. He is a living, breathing symbol of everything that is wrong with the politically neurotic state of California:  all show, posing and posturing without substance.

Will Meg Whitman be better?  She has some hopeful signs.  She has not only met a payroll, she took EBay from a 30 employee company to one with 15,000 employees.  She has a real-world, working knowledge of building wealth and creating jobs.  Her knowledge of economics is based on actual practice as well as theory.

I suspect she has an insight or two about how to make California friendlier to business and staunch the outbound stampede of employers and jobs.  Jerry Brown doesn't have those insights.  He has only his far left inclinations, marinated into his bones by a lifelong immersion into radical politics and hippy culture, with its peace symbols and clouds of pot smoke.  He sees business as something that the public must be protected against, and he will protect us: from jobs, prosperity and solvency.

The question is, will Californians finally end their protracted adolescence and finally grow up?  Don't hold your breath.

It's Meg vs. Moonbeam in the Land of Fruits and Nuts

Meg Whitman won the Republican primary for governor of California.  I voted for her, after American Power confirmed my suspicions that Steve Poizner was really a flaming liberal repackaged as a conservative.  She will face "Governor Moonbeam," otherwise known as Jerry Brown, who was the governor of California over 30 years ago.

How much good Whitman can do in a very blue state is debatable.  Without a Republican legislature to back her up, she will be stymied in restoring fiscal health to the Land of Fruits and Nuts.

Schwarzenegger went into the governor's chair determined to clean things up; after he had his ass handed to him in a special election (where a number of needed reforms were all voted down), he quickly assumed the role of the left's bitch.  It was really embarrassing seeing him show up to legislative sessions in the black leather jumpsuit, with the studded collar around his neck and the red ball gag in his mouth.  Arnie figured that it was much easier to go along and get along then to change the direction of the state towards fiscal sanity.

How Meg can affect a better outcome is beyond me.  I think the Democrat legislature will greet her with as much enthusiasm as a room full of drunks would greet Carry Nation.

In yesterday's elections, my fellow Californians again repudiated my wisdom by voting the wrong way on most of the propositions.  They voted in the open primary (Proposition 14), which I opposed, so now all candidates will be listed on the same ballot without party affiliation noted.  The top two will proceed to the general election.  Under this system you can have two Democrats on the ballot for the general election; that should suppress the Republican vote even more, cementing control of the state in the hands of the neo-bolsheviks.  Who wants to bother voting when the choices are Commie A or Commie B?

Yes, I know the candidates' party affiliation won't be on the ballot, but everyone will know what it is anyway.

Carly Fiorina is a RINO, as Psota points out. I voted for Schwarzenegger twice and lived to regret it. I won't vote for another RINO.

Jeff Denham Recall Goes to Ballot Today

Jeff Denham, a California Republican and state senator, is the subject of a recall election in California today. Denham is being punished for standing firm in his refusal to vote in favor of the California budget that was approved by Governor Schwarzenegger.

Denham, a rare politician of principle, stood up to pressure from Democrat senators and refused to vote for the $14 billion budget deficit.

Will Jeff be recalled? Quite probably - not for committing any malfeasance in office, but merely for voting his conscience and those of his district. It's called democracy.

I am disappointed in our wimpoid governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. I am ashamed to say that I voted for him twice, but I will never vote for him again under any circumstances. The governor is a hostage to his liberal Democrat wife who, to borrow a phrase from Rush Limbaugh, keeps the Governor's manhood in a "testical lockbox."

Facts about the Recall:
1. During the 2007 budget battle, Senator Jeff Denham refused to vote for Senator Don Perata’s version of the state budget. That’s because Senator Denham believed the budget was covering up huge deficits. The non-partisan Legislative Analyst proved Denham right, when she announced the Perata budget was actually $10 billion more in debt than previously admitted.

2. To punish Denham for exposing the Perata deficit, Senator Don Perata had a Recall filed against Denham in his district. When local citizens refused to circulate the Recall petitions, Perata’s campaign operatives hired signature collectors, some from out-of-state, to collect Recall petition signatures. Such actions violate California election law.

3. The Recall process became a part of the California Constitution through the reform efforts of Governor Hiram Johnson. Recalls have always been viewed as a means to remove an elected official from public office who has committed a crime or been guilty of malfeasance. The Perata Recall against Senator Jeff Denham has been widely criticized by the district’s editorial boards as an “abuse of the process,” since there are no such accusations against Sen. Denham.

4. Most of the newspapers in the 12th Senate District has condemned Perata’s Recall against Senator Denham as wrong.

5. According to polls, a majority of both Republicans and Democrats believe the Recall is wrong and plan to vote against it. Prominent elected Democrats from every county in the 12th Senate District have joined with elected Republicans and non-partisan officeholders to condemn the Recall.

6. The Perata Recall against Senator Denham will appear on the June 3rd ballot, and is expected to be defeated by a large margin.

Let's hope so.

UPDATE: Jeff Denham easily defeated the recall. The AP says:

reporting, more than 78 percent of voters were opposing the recall.
