Obama's Latest Failure: Bombing Campaign of ISIS Fails.

Obama's plan to stop the aggression of the Islamic State terrorists with bombs only, no boots on the ground, has failed miserably.  ISIS is now expanding its reach into Syria and Iraq.  Obama's presidency is one giant, unfolding failure.  The U.K. Independent reports:

America's plans to fight Islamic State are in ruins as the militant group's fighters come close to capturing Kobani and have inflicted a heavy defeat on the Iraqi army west of Baghdad. The US-led air attacks launched against Islamic State (also known as Isis) on 8 August in Iraq and 23 September in Syria have not worked. President Obama's plan to "degrade and destroy" Islamic State has not even begun to achieve success. In both Syria and Iraq, Isis is expanding its control rather than contracting.

Obama's reign has shown a spotlight on a profound truth:  liberal policies are miserable failures when applied to either the economy or foreign policy.  They don't work.  They never work.  They make things worse.

Where will we be in two more years?  It is a frightening thought.

The Obamacare Disaster: Hope and Change, Bwa Ha Ha! #Obamacare

American Power has a post on Jonah Goldberg's schadenfreude for Obama's crashing failure, Obamacare.  Jonah Goldberg writes:

Because, frankly, this has been one of the most enjoyable political moments of my lifetime. I wake up in the morning and rush to find my just-delivered newspaper with a joyful expectation of worsening news so intense, I feel like Morgan Freeman should be narrating my trek to the front lawn. Indeed, not since Dan Rather handcuffed himself to a fraudulent typewriter, hurled it into the abyss, and saw his career plummet like Ted Kennedy was behind the wheel have I enjoyed a story more.

The arrogant, sophomoric moron in the oval office wouldn't compromise, wouldn't agree to delay the roll out of Obamacare, and acted like a tin-horn dictator to Republicans in Congress.  Now he owns this disaster all on his own and the Democrats look like a pack of fools.  It does my heart good.

Still Love Barack Obama, Libbies?

Barack Obama, the light worker, the Second Coming, the mystical magician who would turn the world into a flower garden with fountains and fireflies, has fallen on his face.  (How's that for alliteration?)

Let's see now....the Benghazi atrocity has now been revealed to to the public by the television news program, "Sixty Minutes," and Obama's and Clinton's duplicity and cynical cover up of the atrocity were finally revealed.  The nasty secret was revealed, that the mainstream media hid from view for such a long time:  that there was plenty of warning of a coming attack on the embassy, that warning signs were ignored by Team Obama, and that the murder of our ambassador and three other Americans there was preventable.  Further, that Hillary told a huge lie, claiming attack was merely a demonstration that "got out of hand," and that it was all caused by a YouTube video that insulted Islam.  And Obama and his liar pal Hillary stood there by the coffins as they were unloaded from hearses, and lied to protect their sorry asses in the presence of those killed by their incompetence.

Now the many liberals who watch Sixty Minutes know the truth.

Next up, the misnamed "Affordable Care Act," or Obamacare, as it is popularly known.  The bad old Republicans tried to bring Obama to the table to negotiate the delay of Obamacare, and Obama refused to negotiate, bringing a partial shutdown of the federal government and the USA to the brink of default on its huge debt.  So Obamacare was not delayed, and the roll out was a complete disaster, the absurdly high cost website doesn't work, and thousands of people all over the country are having their present health care canceled, while others are receiving huge bills for their new Obamacare-compliant coverage.

The international community, who bought into the Obama mystique, is now outraged to find that Obama's National Security Agency (NSA) has been tapping the cell phones of 35 foreign leaders like Germany's Angela Merkel.  The Great Liberal Hope of the World is something of a fascist, spying, not only on his own people, but on just about everyone worldwide.

So there you go, libbies.  If you elect an ignorant, incompetent, sophomoric pot-smoking ideologue who hasn't a clue how an economy works, you get what we TOLD you we would get, a disaster in the Oval Office.  And that in turn brings a higher cost of living, higher costs for energy and food, less opportunity and jobs, and a deteriorating standard of living.  The anger and outrage from foreign leaders is just icing on Obama's poisonous cake.

So what can we learn from this, libbies?  Life is not a lava lamp, or a bong, or a lid of grass; it is not a fantasy to be molded by the workings of an immature mind; reality is impervious to magical thinking and mindless idealism, and it couldn't care less what your leftist professor thinks or what your fellow undergraduates want to believe, or how popular holding the "right" opinions makes you among your fellow campus rats.

Bankrupt California: The Model for Progressive Policies

Victor Davis Hanson is (like me) a Californian.  He discusses the state of California and its demise under unfettered leftism:  soaring energy prices, crumbling infrastructure, tides of illegal aliens, and managed my moonbats on steroids.  California is the perfect reverse barometer of sane fiscal policy and state government.  Hanson explains:

California may face the nation’s largest budget deficit at $16 billion. It may struggle with the nation’s second-highest unemployment rate at 10.6 percent. It will soon vote whether to levy the nation’s highest income and sales taxes, as if to encourage others to join the 2,000-plus high earners who are leaving the state each week. The new taxes will be our way of saying, “Good riddance.” And if California is home to one-third of the nation’s welfare recipients and the largest number of illegal aliens, it is nonetheless apparently happy and thus solidly for Obama, by a +24 percent margin in the latest Field poll. The unemployment rate in my hometown is 16 percent, the per capita income is $16,000 — and I haven’t seen a Romney sticker yet.

One of the greatest testaments to liberal lunacy is California's roads.  They are filled with potholes and cracks and are often a mosaic patchwork, the many cracks filled with poured asphalt, resulting in a giant spiderweb where a road should be.  I have often driven along California's road, bumping and jostling until I reach the state border between California and Nevada, or California and Oregon, or California and Arizona, where the roads magically transform into smooth, new stretches of freeways, absent the cracks and potholes.  My wife asks, "Why are the roads so bumpy?"  I reply, "California's broke.  They can't afford to fix the roads."

Yes, "progressives" everywhere should take a good long look at the perfect model of their political ambitions.  Progressivism not only doesn't work, it makes life substantially more difficult for those who live under its soft tyranny.

Killing the Magic Goose: Overly Tax the Rich, Destroy Prosperity

Nolan Finley of the Detroit News gets it.  He says the Obama administration had better hurry up and tax the rich while there are still rich to tax.  Obama's policies are rapidly destroying wealth.  Finley writes:

At the rate President Barack Obama's policies are destroying wealth, the pool of millionaire taxpayers may be too shallow to provide the windfall the redistributors hope for.

Plunging stock markets over the past two weeks have ravaged portfolios and caused lots of people to slip a few rungs down the economic ladder. Last Monday alone, investors lost $1.2 trillion. Imagine.

Liberals never get it.  They want the golden eggs and insist on cutting open the magic goose  to get them.  Alas, once you destroy the engine of prosperity, prosperity disappears.  Heavy taxation on entrepreneurs  is like strapping a boulder onto the backs of runners and expecting them to run at the same speed.  As Finley puts it:

But that's the problem with so-called millionaire's taxes. They only work if the rich stay rich, and high tax and spend policies that slow growth, rock financial markets and take the reward out of risk-taking produce a lot of ex-millionaires.

And when those millionaires become ex-millionaires, they shut down marginal businesses and lay off workers.  You can't make payroll with cute bumper-sticker slogans.  It takes moola.

These facts will never deter the wealth-confiscators, however.  They never learn.  They will continue, forever, looking for the financial equivalent of perpetual motion, or the ancient chemist's quest to turn lead into gold.  It doesn't work, kids.  When you destroy human incentive, people stop working, investing and taking risks.  The productive dwindle and the welfare rolls grow.  Soon, the house of cards collapses when there is nothing left to "redistribute."

We Are Witnessing the Utter Failure of Liberalism Worldwide

As looters in the UK roam the streets, breaking, burning and stealing, we are witnessing the utter failure of liberalism and the welfare state.  We have not yet reached that point in the United States, but the flash riots and wildings of the past few months show we are on the brink.

When you inculcate a strong sense of entitlement in the unproductive underclass, the latter will become angry and violent when his goodies are shut off.   When you rationalize and excuse the anti-social behavior of hoodlums and social parasites, you can only expect more of the same.

Peter Hitchins, writing in the UK Mail Online, describes the failure of the welfare state in Britain.  He writes:

As the polluted flood (it is not a tide; it will not go back down again) of spite, greed and violence washes on to their very doorsteps, well-off and influential Left-wingers at last meet the filthy thing they have created, and which they ignored when it did not affect them personally.

No doubt they will find ways to save themselves. But they will not save the country. Because even now they will not admit that all their ideas are wrong, and that the policies of the past 50 years – the policies they love – have been a terrible mistake. I have heard them in the past few days clinging to their old excuses of non-existent ‘poverty’ and ‘exclusion’.

The U.K. has been the most extreme example of leftist liberalism on the planet.  Mass immigration of hostile and unproductive third-worlders into the country; huge welfare benefits for lazy people who refuse to work even when jobs are plentiful; a wimpy and apologetic police force and anemic justice system that is more inclined to prosecute those who defend themselves than the hordes of hoodlums who are currently burning down London:

The great majority of the looters, smashers, burners and muggers have not been arrested and never will be. Our long-enfeebled police were so useless at the start that thousands of crimes were committed with total impunity.

Now we know why they don’t call themselves ‘police forces’ any more. But they aren’t ‘services’ either, for they certainly don’t serve us or do what we want them to do, preferring to arrest us for defending ourselves. The criminals, who are cunning without being intelligent, all know this. They will wait for the next chance.

Obviously, if shop owners in London had the right to own and use guns, these riots would likely never have happened, or if they did, would have been cut short with the first bevy of bullet-riddled, hoody-wearing corpses.  You can't be nice to evil; evil must be confronted and opposed without apology.

The first step in stopping this carnage, however, begins at the ballot box.  Liberals and leftists need to be thrown out in mass, along with the sloth and crime-rewarding welfare system they created, and certain third-world immigration halted and reversed.  Uprooting the demented liberal culture will take years, e.g. reversing the deeply ingrained belief that rewarding crime and parasitical behavior is inspired enlightenment, and the reverse only darkness and backwardness.
