My Venture Into V-Logging: Making Videos for YouTube

Another new venture of mine is making videos for YouTube.  I have a YouTube channel called "Grumpy Meditations" and have posted a few videos thereon.  I am using and learning another Adobe program for this purpose, called Adobe Premier Pro.  It also comes with my Adobe subscription.  So the Adobe programs I am using and learning include Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition and Premier Pro.  Audition is for sound recording, I use it to record my band practices for upload to SoundCloud where band members can listen and improve.  Premier Pro is for editing videos that I take with my video camera to upload to YouTube.

Here is the best of my videos so far:

Kathryn Sevy's husband was Elliott Francis Marrs, who was a San Jose Policeman in the 1930s.  He died in 1981.

World War II Movies for Free on YouTube

I haven't been motivated to do much for the past week or so.  I just wait until night time, then go to my table in the backyard gazebo and watch World War II movies and documentaries on my laptop.  You can see a lot of these full length films on YouTube -- just search for "World War II full movies" at YouTube.

One that I particularly enjoyed was "The Bunker," portraying Hitler's final days, from the time he entered his underground bunker to the day of his suicide in April 1945.

I have no sympathy for Hitler, but I did feel some for his staff and guards and entourage who had to cope with certain defeat, total destruction and their own deaths or imprisonment.

Watch This and Join PETA Today! How Animals Eat Their Food (Video)

Is Saber Point becoming too obliquely theoretical, reserved only for the deeply wise and serious? Perhaps so. Still, we feel that the following zoological presentation will make your Sunday more worthwhile. Note taking is recommended.

A French Jew Explains: "Why I Love America (Among Other Things)" VIDEO

A Christian church in Texas made a rousing musical video to demonstrate the congregation's support of Israel.  They did it by singing a Jewish song (in Hebrew) and by waving Israeli flags.

Jean-Patrick Grumberg writes at the French blog DRZZ:
This video mixes country music, gospel and Klezmer (Jewish music).  The orchestra is composed of Evangelical Christians who recorded this onsite in a church in Texas.

In a world blindly hostile to Israel, this demonstration of friendship goes right to the heart.
See original post here (in French).

Here's a Warm Fireplace for Those Cold, Wet Winter Days (Video)

Outside my window I hear the soft staccato of raindrops on the glass, it's late and I want to climb beneath the covers.  Here's a nice video of a warm fire to soothe you in bad weather.

Getting What I Want: a Video Camcorder for Christmas

My wife and I are still financially pressed by this economy so decided to give each other a common Christmas present this year, an HD video camcorder, a Canon Vixia.  I have wanted a good video camcorder for some time for capturing family events (I wish I had made videos of my mother-in-law before she died -- fortunately, other family members did so).

I also want it to create YouTube videos.  Videos of my band, videos of me playing bass to recorded music (for practice and auditioning purposes), videos of Tea Party and other events in the Bay Area.

I can hardly wait to try it out.

They've Been Burning Korans on YouTube for Years!

Blazing Cat Fur says:
Enough already with the surrender monkeys in the media who have made a mountain out of a pile mohammed's burnt musings. The self righteous preening is a bit much to take.
Blazing Cat Fur has the story here -- along with some examples.

Spot on, BCF!

The Gaza Flotilla Choir Sings "We Con the World"

This funny, musical video has been already linked by a number of sites; if you haven't seen it, do watch it. A little comic relief is necessary to retain one's sanity in a world gone mad.

That Great Old Classic "Stand By Me"

This is the latest song my band has learned, "Stand By Me" by Ben E. King.  We played it for the first time last Sunday and the first try was already performance quality.

It starts off with a great bass part that repeats throughout the song, and I was able to figure it out from memory in just a few minutes.  We were all very pleased.

Here's Ben King singing his hit.  Enjoy.

Carol's Coup at YouTube

Carol of No Sheeples Here once again shows flashes of genius in blogging.  Some months back she taught herself to make YouTube videos and made a few videos.  Yesterday, however, she had a blogger coup in the release of "We'll Never Say Thank You" to the horse's ass now masquerading as our president.  Obama had the audacity to suggest that Tea Party attendees should thank him rather than protest his policies.  Carol's video shows dramatically how lethal Obama's policies really are.  The only way we could ever thank the radical is if he voluntarily resigned the presidency.

Both Breitbart and Memeorandum picked up the video, giving it wide exposure in the blogosphere.  Congratulations, Carol.

View her video at the link provided above.

Images:  That's Carol on the left.  Politically, however, we are both on the right.

Carol at No Sheeples Here Launches YouTube Channel "Definite Opinion"

Carol at No Sheeples Here has launched her own YouTube channel, "Definite Opinion."  She has acquired the knowledge and software to create her own videos and as of today has produced and uploaded six videos.  Click on the link above and you can become a subscriber at her channel site.

Carol continues to expand her technical knowledge and has a passion for digital art and graphics.  Good luck to you Carol in your new venture; I have no doubt it will be a big success.

Update:  I discovered I too have a YouTube Channel.  I have no idea how I got it but there it is.  I had to delete about 100 nasty comments in it today that have accumulated over the past three years, including about 90 of some fat gay guy in his underwear making obscene propositions.  I suppose he must be some uploader who didn't like my comments about some video.

I wouldn't mind trying making videos sometime but right now I have other priorities.

Atlanta Burglars Caught On Tape

An Atlanta couple have their Broyles Street home thoroughly wired for video. A year ago they taped several burglars breaking into their home; the perps were subsequently caught and prosecuted. This past Friday a new group has broken in and have been videotaped in the act. This method of crime detection is highly interesting to me; I will think about a similar system.

Watch the video of the burglary below. You can see the faces of the perpetrators fairly clearly and someone out there in Atlanta will recognize them. If so, call the Atlanta Police and report them.

Here's what the homeowners say about the case:
Broken into again Friday Aug 28, 2009 5:20pm in Grant Park, Atlanta. Driving a black Nissan Armada w the rear passenger hubcap missing. Pay attention at 3:43, notice them throwing a barstool at our dog.
The last guys got caught bc of youtube, let's do it again. Spread this video. Get their faces out there. Call Atlanta Zone 3 Police with info: 404 624 0674, or 911.
