Herman Cain Quits Presidential Race

Not surprisingly, Cain quit the presidential race yesterday, stating that he was "suspending his campaign."  He pointed to the cloud hanging over him from sexual misconduct allegations, as well as his inability to raise enough money to be competitive.

The Democrat media found a weak spot and exploited it for all it was worth, and succeeded in removing Cain from the race.  They hanged him, but he provided the rope.

Note how the biased mainstream media operates in the realm of politics.  They search earnestly for any kind of scandal or pseudo-scandal that they can exploit against Republican candidates but are generally silent and protective of Democrat candidates.  Bill Clinton was a horn-dog on steroids, but his encyclopedic sexual peccadilloes were ignored by the mainstream press.  Obama's radical and dope connections have also been ignored by the media.

A scandal is only a scandal if it is reported in the press, over and over again.  A scandal is not a scandal if no one ever speaks or writes about it.

So who is the Tea Party pick for president now?  Or does it matter?  It appears we will be stuck with an establishment, big-government Republican, either Mitt (Socialized Medicine) Romney or Newt (Global Warming) Gingrich.

This week a woman in Atlanta, one Ginger White, stated that she had a "casual affair" with Herman Cain over a twelve to thirteen year period.  Whereas Cain's former accusers were neither specific nor particularly credible, White's accusations appear believable.

The mounting impression is that Herman Cain is a horn-dog along the lines of Bill Clinton.  As such, he carries a lot of baggage into the race for president and this latest revelation undoubtedly terminates his chance to become president of the United States.

I have vigorously defended Cain in previous posts, but will defend him no longer.  I don't particularly care about his private sex life, but many other voters will care, and will pass him by.  So for that reason, I say, "So long, Herman, it was nice knowin' ya."

Now if there are any other Randy Roaming Republicans out there who want to run for office, I have one word of advice:  Don't.  Don't waste our time.   Stay home and rent "Debby Does Dallas" and leave us the hell alone.

I think Herman Cain is probably toast for the Republican presidential nomination.  Like others before him, he has been made to swim in a Democrat-made sewer of slime, unproven accusations and bad press.  He might be able to survive that, but I doubt he can survive the Republican onslaught now directed against him.

It seems the supporters of Romney, Gingrich and Perry have joined the Democrats in undermining Cain.  Dan Riehl, of "Get Real, Riehl" has been posting articles heavily criticizing Cain, and other conservative bloggers like Astute Bloggers sound like Democrats while pushing the "sexual harassment" meme.

Lawrence Auster of View From the Right thinks that Cain doesn't have the experience or political skill to be an effective candidate, and this may or may not be true.  However, Auster has defended Cain against the unsourced and unsupported slander from the left.  If Auster is right (and I suspect he is) about Cain's lack of political experience, then Cain might have made a good VP candidate for whoever is nominated as the Republican candidate.

Cain's presence on the ticket would immediately put the lie to the Democrat smear of "racism," and calm the anger from many blacks that will surely surface if Obama is defeated.  Further, it would provide Cain with a means of acquiring more experience and political skill for an eventual run for the presidency.  However, with so many conservatives making the Democrat's argument for them, I don't see that happening now.  I can see the Democrat political ads next year, quoting this Republican or that conservative, denigrating Herman Cain, attacking his qualifications and personal reputation.

What I have liked about Herman Cain is that he isn't a career politician, a slick lawyer in a suit who says one thing when he means another, who talks the talk but in the end is merely an establishment Tweedledum who will do whatever it takes to get favorable editorials from the New York Times and the Washington Post.  Cain has been a breath of fresh air, a counter to "politics as usual."  I also have loved Cain's support of Israel, which mirrors my own:  an attack on Israel should be viewed as an attack on the United States, and will not be tolerated.

So if Cain withdraws, as is the goal of the Democrats and the establishment Republicans, he will take a lot of my enthusiasm with him.  I will still show up on election day and vote the straight Republican ticket, but my nose is getting sore from having to hold it every time I vote.

Witness: Cain Accuser Sharon Bialek Hugged Him at Tea Party Meeting Last Month

There is a news report that Sharon Bialek, Cain's latest sexcapades accuser, hugged Cain at a Tea Party meeting a month ago.  She seemed quite happy to see Cain.  The Chicago Sun Times relates:

They hugged each other backstage in a full embrace like old friends.

She grabbed his arm and whispered in his left ear.

She kept talking as he bent to listen, and he kept saying “Uh, huh. Uh, huh.”

Cain's latest sexcapades accuser is one Sharon Bialek from Chicago.  There is one Sharon Bialek listed in Chicago, and she is 59 years old.  She has changed addresses several times in the past few years.  Apparently, this Sharon Bialek has also used an alias, if this is the Sharon Bialek in question.

One of my contacts says he thinks the Sharon Bialek in the videos is much younger than 59, but I don't think so.  Hair bleach and makeup can do wonders for older women nowadays. (Per Wikipedia, Gloria Allred is 70 years old but looks much younger.) Also, per Chuck Goudie (discussed below), Bialek's fiancee is one Mark S Harwood of Mundelein, IL.  The only Mark S Harwood listed was born in 1953, making him 58 years of age, so I do believe the 59 year old Sharon described above is the person in question.

According to Chuck Goudie at ABClocal.go.com, Bialek has held numerous jobs, had a child out of wedlock and has two personal bankruptcies on her record.  Apparently, Bialek has struggled financially.

Could her recent allegations be motivated by a desire for money?  Or is it merely a desire for attention, her "15 minutes of fame"?  What's in it for Gloria Allred, and who is paying her fees?

Update:  I found a close-up of Bailek with Allred that shows Bailek's heavy makeup and skin lines; in this photo she doesn't look so young.  In fact, she looks like she puts her makeup on with a trowel.

The Hit Job on Herman Cain Continues: Gloria Allred, Slime Merchant, Steps Forward

Another woman, one Sharon Bialek of Chicago, has now come forward to allege that Cain once put the moves on her.   She said no, he stopped immediately, and she wasn't employed at the time.  Therefore, the alleged incident, even if true, does not constitute "sexual harrassment," is a minor, personal matter of no importance, and its only purpose is to embarrass Cain.  Gloria Allred (her last name describes her politics) often represents and introduces "embarrassment" personas to the public in an attempt to damage the campaigns of conservative candidates.  Dirty politics is her game and "All Red" is her name.

Blogmocracy describes the media's hypocrisy, double standards and bias here.  The Blogmocracy article tells about Obama's alleged homosexual encounters with two men, although you can be sure Allred will never represent them before the media.

Andrew McCarthy takes apart Politico's Jonathan Martin for his outrageously partisan and dishonest reporting on (or should I say, his creation of) the Cain sexual "harassment" imbroglio. Partisan, because his record suggests that he would never have published such a damaging yet vague story about a Democrat. Dishonest, because Martin knows who the source of the story is, yet he is withholding that information, while allowing various conflicting charges to fly around which he is in a position to resolve, but which he declines to resolve, by continuing to withhold the truth.

Men's Rights Online: Reasons for False Charges of "Sexual Harassment"

A website called "Men's Rights Online" discuss reasons why some women file false "sexual harassment" charges against bosses or instructors.  They say:

The two main incentives are financial gain and spite, respectively, though the latter option has been used by angry employees who wanted to ruin a rival man's reputation. Attention seeking can be a factor, too.

Victims

Large corporations have been targeted by opportunistic women. Any claim, regardless of how absurd, can take a long time to disprove. The negative publicity associated with a long, drawn-out court case can have a negative impact on the company's standing in the community. For example, a consumer might avoid dealing with the company until all doubt over their guilt has been determined. Not all members of the public accept a court's ruling when a company is cleared of wrongdoing, either. Due to this, quite a few companies have settled out of court because it was less costly than clearing their name. This is the reason opportunistic women have used this ploy.

More Efficient Politics: Hang All the Liberals (Bitter Satire)

The left's attempt to destroy Herman Cain continues apace.  I have long wondered if politics is even worth all the trouble.  We should just ask the military to stage a coup, round up all the liberals and hang one from every telephone pole and street light in the country.  Really, would that be so different from the system we have now?

Then after all the liberals are swaying in the breeze, we could dig up the body of Saul Alinsky and put a wooden stake through his heart.

Since our political system rests on personal destruction of people, why not take that personal destruction up a notch?  Instead of merely ruining a man's reputation, instead of ruining their lives (like Tom DeLay) for political reasons, why not follow the practices to their logical conclusion?  At what point does politics, as "war by other means," become actual war?

Consider the following:

1. A man or woman runs for office as a conservative in America.
2. That man or woman starts to become hugely popular.
3. The Democrats begin to worry that the Republicans might elect the first REAL black president or woman president, upstaging the Democrats in the group-identity politics game.
4. Democrats hire operatives to investigate every aspect of the candidate's life, with an eye to finding any kind of human misstep, error or factoid that can be used against the candidate.
5. When something is found -- an ancient DUI conviction, an alleged "sexual harassment" charge, an unpaid bill, the employment of a gardener who, unknown to the candidate, was an illegal alien, a divorce or lawsuit, then bingo!  A weapon for character assassination has been found.
6. One or more of these ancient peccadilloes is then exploded by the Democrat-loyal mainstream media, analyzed with a microscope, dissected, discussed and condemned in both articles and editorials.  If the candidate doesn't remember all of the details of the incident (and he or she won't), or don't relate the facts with absolute accuracy, the media will then use this to show that, not only is the candidate some immoral wretch, but a liar to boot.

The result of this wretched system is that a good, decent, down-to-earth, non-lawyer everyman like Herman Cain can't be elected in America, where vicious propaganda and personal destruction decide who governs the country.

The system is rigged against us and has been for years.  Meanwhile, I look wistfully on all of those unused telephone poles and street lights.....[SIGH]...does anyone have the telephone number of the Pentagon?

Of course, this post was (somewhat) satirical.  I wouldn't really want to stage a military coup in America.  The red states should just secede from the union instead.

Herman Cain Seen As Serious Threat to Bolshevik Democrats

Herman Cain is being seen as a serious candidate for the Republican nomination.  For that reason, he has become a target of the Democrat smear merchants.  The idea behind these "politics of personal destruction" is to plant seeds of doubt in voters' minds, to tarnish a candidate's otherwise sterling reputation.  It is very dirty pool, but it's the way the Democrats roll.  They are completely ruthless in their quest for power.

I do not believe that Herman Cain "sexually harrassed" anyone, but what if he did?

I could care less if he played grab-ass with the whole steno pool.  I'm voting for the man anyway.

Establishment Republicans and most of the media are going to great lengths to downplay Herman Cain’s chances of winning the Republican nomination. Not so much because of his slips on such issues as abortion and negotiating with terrorists, but because he doesn’t have the money or staff to be competitive.

While I’m sure there’s a lot of historical evidence to back up their lack-of-money-and-staff argument, I don’t think they understand the mood of the average American today. They are victims of what I call the Paradigm Restriction.

Metaphorically speaking, we are all restricted by our unique mental paradigms. It’s difficult to comprehend ideas and circumstances we are not accustomed to hearing and seeing within the invisible parameters that surround our lives.

Thus, one of the causes of our differing perceptions of reality is that we all start from our own set of assumptions. To break through one’s Paradigm Restriction requires a willingness to let go of comfortable, long-held beliefs and look at the world the way it is today rather than the way it was ten or twenty or thirty years ago.

The idea that Herman Cain can’t win because of his lack of financial support is based on a pre-Tea Party view of the world. People are angry, and the more they are told that someone like Herman Cain can’t win because of a lack of funds and/or staff, the more determined they are to prove the pundits wrong.

In addition, Cain doesn’t need much money for advertising, because with nonstop debates on the horizon, he will get more and better exposure than ads could ever buy him. And that exposure showcases him as the least uptight, most pleasant candidate, traits that are only magnified by the nasty behavior of guys like Mitt Romney, Rick Perry, and Rick Santorum.

Given that Ron Paul is the only candidate who is a 100 percent pure libertarian-centered conservative, Cain can afford to stumble now and then. After all, the others stumble repeatedly because they lack purity in their words and actions.

All this by way of saying you should not be surprised if Cain wins by a wide margin in Iowa. And don’t be shocked if he comes close to winning in New Hampshire. Finally, unless Rick Perry gets much better very quickly, Cain could very well win in South Carolina.

Herman Cain may not be ideologically perfect, but, contrary to what we’re hearing from the pundits, he can win the nomination. And if he does, pundits are wrong in thinking he can’t beat Barack Obama. Just think of the contrast between the two:

Nasty and hateful (Obama) vs pleasant and likeable (Cain).

Hard-core Marxist (Obama) vs hard-core capitalist (Cain).

No experience in the private sector and creating jobs (Obama) vs tremendous success in the private sector and creating jobs (Cain).

Focus on raising taxes (Obama) vs a focus on lowering taxes (Cain).

Elitist background financed by public and private handouts (Obama) vs pulling himself up by his bootstraps from humble beginnings (Cain).

Above all, how in the world would the worst racist ever to set foot in the Oval Office handle a real black person in head-to-head debates? It would be fun to watch the Master of Malevolence squirm while trying to figure out how to cope with a black conservative. Obama’s beloved race card would be off the table!

We can hope for a surprise Ron Paul victory, but if we can’t get that, don’t count out the man whom the establishment is so certain cannot win. A victory for Herman Cain would throw all the old rules out the window — and into the trash bin of political history.

Herman Cain Moves Up In Zogby Poll

The ARRA News Service is reporting that Herman Cain is rising in the Zogby Poll as more Republicans begin supporting him.  Cain is a businessman and a radio talk show host; he is not a lawyer (thank God) nor a politician.

Absolutely none of the establishment Republican candidates appeal to me, and only Herman Cain is clear and unequivocal on the issues that are most important to me (revive the economy, start an energy policy that will lead to cheap fuel, support Israel, support our military, etc).

At this point, Herman Cain is my man.  Imagine, common sense, actual values over and above getting and staying elected -- I like it.

Herman Cain Wins First Republican Debate in South Carolina

I watched the first Republican debate tonight.  It was held in South Carolina and included the following candidates:

Ron Paul
Rick Santorum
Herman Cain
Tim Pawlenty
Gary Johnson

Frankly, I was impressed by all five.  All of them could think on their feet, answer tough questions convincingly, and all had worthwhile ideas on how to improve the economy and save the US from financial collapse.

Herman Cain was especially impressive.  He came across as a common-sense, straight talking man with a sense of humor and practical ideas.  He was the only candidate that stressed energy independence by exploiting our oil and gas reserves here at home.

A panel of South Carolina Republicans was hosted by Fox News, and asked who they thought won the debate.  Herman Cain was the overwhelming winner, for the reasons I described above.  (See video embedded below.)

In truth, I could vote for any of the five in good conscience.  Tim Pawlenty convinced me that his earlier exploration of the costs and benefits of cap and trade was a mistake, and that his fact-finding on the subject had convinced him some years ago that cap and trade was a bad idea.

I have been worried about Ron Paul's stand on Israel, but he did a good job of deflecting my fears, at least momentarily.  My opinion of Ron Paul continues to rise.

Gary Johnson's explanation of what should replace the "war on drugs" was quite impressive and struck me as much more effective than the criminalization of drug use, the system that we have now.

What I saw tonight was a group of convincing problem-solvers.  I think the Republican field is impressive for the 2012 elections.  Hope lives!
