The leader of the English Defence League, one Tommy Robinson, has left the organization that he has headed for several years, claiming it is "far right" and "extremist" and racist and neo-Nazi, blah blah blah.  Robinson has wimped out, bailed, surrendered, assumed a state of dhimmitude.  Why?  I suspect that leftist social ostracism finally got to him.  Tommy Robinson has been routinely denounced as an extremist, a hater, a racist and every other leftwing slur in the book.  He has been arrested on more than one occasion and has spent some time behind bars for his anti-Islam activities.  He is currently facing another trial later this month, in what appears to be a politically motivated prosecution by the U.K. government.

Leftist ostracism can be severe and can seriously compromise the quality of a person's life.  Robinson, I suspect, couldn't take the heat anymore (see example here where a reporter opined that Robinson was headed for a nervous breakdown).  Robinson has now bowed to the Seat of Power.  Now he claims to be aligning himself with some "moderate" Islamic organization that allegedly opposes jihad and Islamic violence.
Infidel Blogger's Alliance quotes Robinson:

"I acknowledge the dangers of far-right extremism and the ongoing need to counter Islamist ideology not with violence but with better, democratic ideas.”
“And whilst I want to lead a revolution against Islamist ideology, I don't want to lead a revolution against Muslims.
“I believe that the revolution needs to come from within the Islamic community and they need to stand up. And I believe this is a step forward not a step back.”

What a bunch of happy horseshit.  As if mass-murdering jihadis can be persuaded by "better, democratic ideas."  These people who slice off heads, bomb schools and churches and trains, commit mass murder against innocents.  No, Tommy boy, this is definitely a step back.  You have denied the reality of the world's most violent and extremist ideology, that of Islam.  I suspect that you, Tommy, have been compromised by leftist pressure and demonization.

The only antidote to Islamic violence, terror and barbarism is to separate them from us.  The U.K. needs to halt and reverse Islamic immigration.  Sweet talk won't do anything.  The slow Islamization of a country will continue, until dogs, music, crosses and pork are outlawed, and Sharia courts replace western ones, where women must all wear the veil or face rape.  Where bombs will continue going off in crowded, public places.

Robert Spencer has published an article explaining his view of the departure, titled Tommy Robinson, Kevin Carroll, Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer breaking with EDL.  Back in 2011, Pamela Geller announced to the world that the EDL was "fascist," citing no proof whatsoever, nor giving a single example of the organization's alleged racism.  Some of us signed a letter to her asking her to apologize to the EDL and reverse her stance.  She refused.

Now Spencer, a strong supporter of Geller, writes:

This has been a long time coming. Back on June 30, 2011, Pamela Geller wrote: that because of the "neo-fascists that had infiltrated the administration of the group," she was withdrawing her support from the EDL." In looking at the same evidence, I wrote, "I agree wholeheartedly." Tommy Robinson immediately issued a statement to SIOA, saying: "We repudiate any individual, group or writing that favors anti-Semitism, neofascism, and any race-based ideology. Any rogue elements within the EDL who go against our mission statement and our beliefs will be removed from the organization; we are determined to remain true to our mission. Anti-Semitism will not ever be tolerated within the EDL."

Then Spencer dishonestly mischaracterizes our position by stating:

These statements drew the ire of some counter-jihad bloggers who apparently didn't mind the racists and anti-Semites within the EDL, and who addressed an Open Letter to Pamela Geller denouncing her and me for drawing back from the EDL. But a huge group of counter-jihad bloggers declared their support of our stand.

Spencer lies.  None of those who signed the Open Letter to Geller ever stated or indicated that we "didn't mind the racists and anti-semites within the EDL." We didn't know of any. We opposed Geller's uncalled for slander of the EDL because she offered no proof and no examples of the alleged fascism, racism or antisemitism within the EDL.  She based her sweeping conclusions on one of her friends who had an ax to grind, and not on facts or evidence.  At the time I concluded that Geller was merely trying to replace the EDL with her own organization, whom she saw more as a competitor than an ally.  At no time did Spencer or Geller provide any evidence of the EDL's alleged radicalism, and they still have not.  I lost a lot of respect for both Spencer and Geller because of this.  In spite of their good works to counter Islamic violence (and they are impressive), for me these two will always bear a taint of dishonesty, dubious ethics and the self-serving sellout of allies and friends.

Every effective right wing organization will be slandered mercilessly by the leftist establishment, and the EDL is no different.  The Tea Party is regularly slandered as "extremist" or "racist," with zero proof of the charges.  Slander of opponents is the chief stratagem employed by leftists, as any conservative activist well knows.  Both Spencer and Geller have themselves been slandered and slimed to the greatest degree possible and they ought to know better.  They too have been dhimmitized, to a certain extent.  They now seek to "get along by going along."

Some weak conservatives will always attempt to remove themselves as targets by agreeing with the leftist slander -- it applies to all other conservatives, but not to them.  They are the "responsible" and "honorable" exceptions.  They give great vocal support to leftist memes, themes and orthodoxies, in a misguided attempt to be "acceptable" to the entrenched liberal culture.  This only undermines the movement they are supposed to represent.  John McCain is one of these weak sisters.  And apparently, so are Robert Spencer, Pamela Geller and Tommy Robinson.

Tommy Robinson, however, has a fairly good excuse.  He is apparently suffering from a form of post-traumatic stress syndrome from years of extreme leftist persecution in Great Britain.  Spencer and Geller, however, are merely opportunists looking to expand their empire.

Saber Point Banned In Britain?

This past week I noticed my daily visitor numbers took a nosedive.  Looking through Sitemeter's stats, I notice that no one from Great Britain has logged on, and visitors from Great Britain have been my second largest source of daily hits.

I have a feeling, as yet unconfirmed, that my blog has been banned in Britain because of my criticisms of the insane leftist demagogues who are now running that nation into the ground.  One such post was "Truth Is The New Hate Speech In David Cameron's Britain."  In that post I linked to a post of the same title by Paul Weston, a British subject and Chairman of the British Freedom Party, who excoriated the far left government of the U.K. for their recent banning of Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer from entering Great Britain.

Banning websites (and speakers and publications) that oppose, criticize and refute leftists is a common tactic of the left.  Censorship is an integral part of their totalitarian mindset.  They can't take the heat, they can't handle the truth, not about themselves or the evil, destructive nature of their politics and policies.

Meanwhile, the sorry fools who are Islamisizing Britain continue apace, labeling all who oppose their destructive and wrongful policies as "haters," when it is they who are the haters.  The haters of truth, of western civilization, of capitalism, of limited government, of Christianity and Judaism...of common sense!  They love only that which will destroy the freedom, culture, traditions, and prosperity of their once great nation, and that which will steadily undermine the safety and security of their own citizens.

The Cameron government is a government of cowards and fools.

Via American Power: Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer have been officially banned from entering [formerly] Great Britain due to their opposition to Islamization of the West. This makes no sense -- if you oppose hatred, mass murder, violence and intolerance -- all of which is Islam on steroids -- you are banned from Britain. If you are a hateful, Jew-hating, terrorist supporting radical Imam, you are welcome.

See photos below of folks who live in Britain and have NOT been banned.  In fact, British police surrounded these protesters to protect them from regular Brits who were outraged at the signs advocating violence and murder.  One Brit was threatened with arrest for attempting to counter demonstrate.

If you speak the truth about Islam, you will be banned.  Freedom of speech is not allowed in Great Britain anymore.  Truth is not a defense.  What kind of insanity is the British government pushing, and why?

If you want to visit Great Britain, you cannot voice opposition to Islam.  Why?  Because Great Britain, home of the West's biggest fools and cowards, is busily Islamisizing itself, in an attempt to de-westernize itself into yet another barbaric backwater.  Long live dhimmitude!

My feeling for the leaders and government of Great Britain is one of abject contempt and disgust.

BOYCOTT CPAC!

Always on Watch has a post this morning about the leftward drifting CPAC, formerly known as the Conservative Political Action Committee, now known as the jihad-enabling, terrorist-ignoring, PC endorsing clusterfuck.

It seems that Robert Spencer won an award in a poll that showed his site "Jihad Watch" to be the most popular blog, by far, among conservatives.  The award was to be presented to the winner at next week's annual meeting of CPAC in Washington, DC.  However, since CPAC is now headed up by Muslim apologist and sympathizer, Grover Norquist, Spencer was informed that he could only be given the award by promising not to criticize Norquist or his Muslim wife, Suhail Khan.

Spencer refused, and is now barred from accepting the award.  Read about it here.

CPAC has now become one of those "proper" conservative organizations (like National Review Online) that is heavily influenced and intimidated by liberal nostrums and bugaboos, ready to throw any conservative under the bus for not self-censoring truth in order to achieve a faux patina of social propriety.

Boycott CPAC.  Don't go, don't participate, and do not fund the organization.

Why Islamophobia? Robert Spencer Answers Muslim Filmmaker

Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch was asked by a Muslim filmmaker for an interview.  It seems one Dean Obeidallah is making a film about "Islamophobia," no doubt along the lines that fear of Islam is unfair, irrational and bigoted.  "Islamophobia," of course, is an invented term used to shame critics into silence about the murderous, violent and intolerant nature of Islam.

Spencer asked Obeidallah to answer several questions as a prelude to an interview.  Obeidallah did not answer them.  The best of these is item number 1, in which Spencer asks:

True or false: No comedy show, no matter how clever or winning, is going to eradicate the suspicion that many Americans have of Muslims. This is because Americans are concerned about Islam not because of the work of greasy Islamophobes, but because of Naser Abdo, the would-be second Fort Hood jihad mass murderer; and Khalid Aldawsari, the would-be jihad mass murderer in Lubbock, Texas; and Muhammad Hussain, the would-be jihad bomber in Baltimore; and Mohamed Mohamud, the would-be jihad bomber in Portland; and Faisal Shahzad, the would-be Times Square jihad mass-murderer; and Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, the Arkansas military recruiting station jihad murderer; and Naveed Haq, the jihad mass murderer at the Jewish Community Center in Seattle; and Mohammed Reza Taheri-Azar, the would-be jihad mass murderer in Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Ahmed Ferhani and Mohamed Mamdouh, who hatched a jihad plot to blow up a Manhattan synagogue; and Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the would-be Christmas airplane jihad bomber; and many others like them who have plotted and/or committed mass murder in the name of Islam and motivated by its texts and teachings -- all in the U.S. in the last couple of years.

And this doesn't even mention Major Nidal Hassan, who killed 13 people at Fort Hood in Texas a couple of years ago, acting on behalf of his religion -- Islam.

Read the whole thing here.   By the way, I am currently reading Spencer's book "The Complete Infidel's Guide to the Koran."  It is an informative book on how the Koran was created and what it contains.  You can read the Koran itself, but this is a difficult task, since the Koran is arranged in a chaotic, non-sequential manner, repeats itself many times, and often provides little or no context for its subject matter.  (You must refer to the Hadith to obtain the context and supporting facts, and Spencer quotes from the Hadith when necessary to remove ambiguity.)

Gates of Vienna: Another Response to Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer Re: English Defence League

Gates of Vienna has an excellent article fisking Geller's response to the "Open Letter to Pamela Geller."   Lawrence Auster has also further dissected Geller's attempted feints and punts in an attempt to avoid accountability for her creation of the false controversy (she announced that she was withdrawing her support of the English Defence League for unspecified and undocumented neo-fascists at the leadership level, then tried to walk it back after receiving a tsunami of criticism from the anti-jihadi blogosphere).

She tried to walk it back without admitting error or without apologizing.  Instead, she counter-attacked her critics with more incredible claims -- that her critics were causing "divisiveness" in the movement by holding her to account, when it is she who caused a massive amount of divisiveness with her damaging charges against the EDL.

Meanwhile, it appears Geller's close associate Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch is attempting to create his own open letter in defense of Geller, and is reportedly asking prominent conservatives to sign it.

Gates of Vienna (Baron Boddisey) notes that we the signers of the "Open Letter to Pamela Geller" are generally small time bloggers without Fox News appearances and writing assignments with important publications -- as are Geller and Spencer.  We are not afraid of tackling such a controversy, because we have nothing to lose.  Boddisey notes that more popular bloggers have not entered into the argument because they do have something to lose...revenue.

There is a Chinese proverb that a snake can be conquered by an army of ants.  We are the army of ants.

Roberta Moore and the Sliming of the English Defence League: The True Facts Here

A pro-Jewish activist named Roberta Moore appears to be the reason for the Geller/Spencer split with the English Defence League (EDL).  As noted in a prior post, the EDL is an English organization opposed to the Islamization of Great Britain; Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer are also opposed to Islamization but split with the EDL over its alleged ties to "Neo-Nazis."  Geller runs the blog "Atlas Shrugs" and Spencer runs the website "Jihad Watch."

No evidence has been presented to document these alleged Neo-Nazi ties, and Geller and Spencer seem to have relied solely on the expressed opinion of one Roberta Moore.

Roberta Moore was the head of the EDL's Jewish Division, but departed the organization, complaining ambiguously of Nazis in the group.  She offered no specifics whatsoever, and EDL supporters say that she has no facts to offer.  However, a little internet research reveals Ms. Moore has an ax to grind with the EDL and her accusations highly suspect.

According to the Jewish Chronicle Online, Moore was criticized within the EDL of being "a divisive figure," ostensibly because she tried to link the EDL's Jewish Division with a radical Jewish group in America, the Jewish Task Force. Jewish Chronicle Online reports:

Ms Moore had attempted to co-ordinate her efforts with those of the far-right American Jewish Task Force, whose leader Victor Vancier has been imprisoned for terrorism offences. The move, in February, was heavily criticised by the EDL leadership.

In a prior article, the Jewish Online Chronicle described the rift between the EDL and Roberta Moore:

"A member of the Jewish Division this week decided to link herself with terrorist organisation JTF. This was the decision and wishes of one single individual within the EDL, and does not mean that the EDL is linked with this movement.

"If they [the Jewish EDL] continue with their plans to forge links with the terrorist JTF, the EDL will have no option but to sever its links with the Jewish division as we cannot support terrorist sympathisers."

But Ms Moore said she was determined to continue the affiliation. She said the EDL leadership who had released the statement were "complete idiots," adding: "I have put my foot down; I am the one in contact with the JTF. If some people don't like it, then screw them. There are lots of Jewish people very upset that the EDL put out that statement - and I haven't received any personal messages telling me to cut off contact with Victor."

However, the EDL made it clear that they and Ms Moore were at odds on the matter. A spokesman said: "The EDL never has and never will have any affiliations with the Jewish Task Force. Unfortunately Ms Moore has caused a great deal of trouble and unrest within the EDL because of her gung-ho attitude."

So it appears that the EDL criticized Moore for supporting violent extremists and moved to expel her from the EDL based on this fact.  Moore's claim that "Nazis" have infiltrated the EDL appears to be nothing more than personal pique and a desire for revenge.  That, and to construct a plausible (but false) reason for her departure (under pressure) from the EDL.

Pamela Geller denounced the EDL simply on the basis of Moore's unproven charges, and Robert Spencer followed along because he seems to uncritically do whatever Geller wants.

Meanwhile, check out the reader comments at Spencer's site, Jihad Watch.  They raise some excellent points and their criticisms of Pamela Geller appear both fair and accurate.

Geller and Spencer Denounce English Defence League

Per View From the Right, it appears that Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer are distancing themselves from the English Defence League, alleging that the organization has been infiltrated by "neo-Fascists."  However, neither Geller nor Spencer cites any evidence to back up their claim.

The English Defence League is an organization that opposes the Islamization of Great Britain.

I support the English Defence League and will continue to do so unless strong evidence comes to light that the organization has become "neo-fascist," a term leftists use to describe anyone opposed to their destructive and suicidal policies.

Update:  EDL President Tommy Robinson has issued a public statement saying that no one expressing anti-semitic sentiments will be allowed to remain in the EDL.  Geller posts his statement here.  Robinson refers to the EDL Mission Statement.  Here is the Mission Statement from the EDL website (below the fold).  Does anyone see anything "fascistic" in it?

A Chat with Robert Stacy McCain About Charles Johnson

Stacy McCain called me last night and we chatted about Charles Johnson's slander campaign.  Stacy wasn't as concerned about it as I was.  He has been slandered before, as have most other conservative authors, pundits and politicians.  The smear of "RAAAAACISM" (note it always must be spelled with 5 A's) has become the Left's automatic response to every question and controversy.  Rush Limbaugh has covered the topic today in his article "Desperate Liberals Cry Racism."

Slander has long been a major weapon of the Left.  Ann Coulter wrote a book about it.  Now that Charles Johnson has moved left, his blogging has become increasingly slanderous.  One of his targets is Robert Spencer, a scholar of Islamic studies who runs Jihad Watch.  Spencer has aptly described Charles Johnson as a "libel blogger."  Someone needs to sue Charley's ass off and make an example of him.

Through Stacy's blog "The Other McCain" I have met some interesting conservatives whom I consider friends:  Clifton of Another Black Conservative; Cynthia Yockey, a Conservative Lesbian; and Left Coast Rebel, a fellow Californian.  All of these people think of R.S. McCain as a mentor, a leader and a friend.  McCain's crowd is a pretty diverse lot.  I guess they didn't get the memo from Charles Johnson about McCain's "bigotry."

Charles Johnson Should Know

I rarely read the blog "Little Green Footballs" any more. I have discovered that, as time goes by, I have less and less in common with its owner, Charles Johnson. Frankly, he acts like someone who is developing a brain chemistry imbalance. If so, he should consider a psychotropic medication like Prozac or Paxil. Personally I prefer Zoloft. Since I started taking it, I notice the ax murders are fewer and further between. Yes, we don't see that much of Mr. Hyde anymore.

Charley's latest gambit is to trash Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch and to oppose Geert Wilders. Seems Charley is very adamant about the right of individuals to freedom of religion, apparently any religion, regardless of their practices, e.g. honor killings, genital mutilation, wife beating, polygamy, jihad, insistence on Sharia rather than democracy. No doubt Aztecs performing human sacrifices of virgins would be just fine with him. You can't oppose "freedom of religion" after all. Charley is so open-minded and tolerant that he would probably accept an invitation to dinner by a tribe of cannibals, and never notice when they shove an apple in his mouth and push him into a big pot of boiling water.

Another of Charley's annoying habits is that he has become a fanatical supporter of Charles Darwin and the theory of evolution. That's fine if that's your bag, but every other post is an ideological screed in support of this pseudo-science. Who cares?

Evolution, says Charley is absolutely true and beyond criticism. Today he was running an article entitled "Transitional Fossils Do Exist."

Charley should know. He's one of them.

Pastorius Hosts "Voices of Freedom" Radio Show This Thursday; Guest is Robert Spencer

Pastorius, a cool and classy guy from Infidel Bloggers' Alliance will host the "Voices of Freedom" radio show this Thursday, August 7th. The show, once again, is broadcast live from Phoenix, Arizona on KFNX Radio, 1100 AM on local dials. Most of us don't live in Phoenix (I did once and don't miss the summer temperatures), but you can listen to the broadcast over the internet.

Pas's guest will be Robert Spencer (see photo at right), a well known scholar of Islam and prolific author on the subject. I've read four of his books, including "Onward Muslim Soldiers," "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam and the Crusades," "The Myth of Islamic Tolerance" and "The Truth About Muhammad, Founder of the World's Most Intolerant Religion." I found all of them interesting and informative. Spencer runs a well-known website, "Jihad Watch," and he has been the target of harsh criticism from Muslim groups including CAIR. Spencer will make a highly interesting guest and you sure don't want to miss this show.

Lawrence Auster Draws Fire from Atlas Shrugs

There's an interesting post over at Atlas Shrugs today. Lawrence Auster of "View from the Right" (which is included in my list of "must reads" sites), is being heavily criticized by Pam Geller and others for attacking Robert Spencer on Auster's website.

I like Lawrence Auster, and I think Fjordman does a great job of explaining Auster's worth to the blogosphere. He writes:

In this respect, Lawrence Auster is very different. Whereas LGF is a link blog which produces virtually no ideas of its own, Auster debates ideas. He questions every assumption of the ruling ideologies, and he does so under his own name, which takes guts to do. He deserves credit for that. The problem with the Western world today, and the reason why we have an Islamic threat in the first place, is too much ideological censorship and conformism. In such a situation, I can definitely see the value in having a website such as Auster's, which is contrarian as a matter of principle and leaves no ideological stone unturned.

However, Auster often attacks prominent conservatives that I like, including Robert Spencer, Mark Steyn and Jonah Goldberg. I am of the opinion that these attacks are borne of professional jealousy, an emotion most unworthy of someone of Auster's talent.

In my post of June 13, I defended Lawrence Auster from Charles Johnson's silly claim that Auster is a fascist. I wrote:

I don't always agree with Lawrence Auster; I think he is unnecessarily antagonistic towards some conservatives I really like, like Jonah Goldberg and Mark Steyn. Larry and I have had our arguments. But Larry is no fascist or Neo-Nazi or racist. He is a traditional conservative and one of the best critical thinkers I know. He routinely defends Israel.

Nevertheless, Pamela Geller is right in pointing out Auster's unwarranted antagonism towards Spencer. Lawrence Auster would be more effective by building alliances with other conservatives rather than attacking them. (It's okay to disagree and hold them accountable.) But by continually attacking them, he only shoots himself in the foot.
