GQ's Comic Strip Lamentation for Osama Bin Laden

Kindly Grandpa Figure Offed by
Fanatical Christian Right Wingers
The online version of Gentleman's Quarterly has published a "web comic" about the termination of Osama Bin Laden by Navy Seals in May of this year.  They asked some well-known comic book artists to illustrate the mission that killed Bin Laden.

The artwork is well done, but carries a leftist bias (most comic book artists nowadays are progressives on steroids). Osama Bin Laden, the murderer of 3,000 people on 9/11/2001, is displayed as a tired, wise old man, a rather sympathetic figure:
Five years -- six?  Caged in these rooms and NOW FINALLY--the end sounds close and far at the same time -- the walls around him complicate things --
The web comic ends with Osama taking a bullet to the head, with the blazing legend "FOR GOD AND COUNTRY".

The cynical legend is subtly sarcastic and reflects leftist biases against both "God and Country."  Only Christian religious fanatics and wildly patriotic jingoists machine gun kindly, tired and wise old men.  (Yes, his tired eyes seem to silently and sadly lament the strife and violence -- oh, why can't this be a better world?  Why can't we all just get along?  Why does it always have to end this way?  Aren't we supposed to be better than this?)

The answer to kindly grandpa's silent questions is simple.  It is because dangerous and slightly mad rightwingers believe that killing is the ultimate expression of religious ecstasy and love of country.   Never mind the murdered Americans and billions of dollars of damage to the World Trade Center and Pentagon.  Let's just focus on the kindly old man with his lovable grandpa-like beard and his tired eyes.  Let us not dwell on his crime.  He was merely a victim of American religious fanaticism and mindless patriotism.  Every college sophomore knows that these two evils account for all the violence and hatred in the world.  Hey, that 9/11 thing was just an excuse...or an inside job used to justify the murder of non-Christians.

For God and country my ass.  For justice.  Thank God the S.O.B. is dead.  I only regret that it took ten years to find him.

Read it here.

What Leftists Do: "Occupy Wall Street" Is the Same Old Scam

Lawrence Auster, who has a talent for describing situations with exactitude, describes the "Occupy Wall  Street" movement as the same-old leftist nonsense:
Perhaps the best way to understand Occupy Wall Street is simply that it is a typical leftist manifestation. These are leftists doing—with variations—what leftists always do. And the support that the Democratic establishment are giving the Occupy movement is also what leftists always do. And the media’s hyping of the Occupy movement, trying to make us believe that this is the emergent direction of America and that it represents the cutting edge of a revolutionary transformation of society, is also what leftists always do. And the efforts by some commentators to convince us that this is not the familiar left but a new political phenomenon joining left and right in a way that’s never happened before, is also what leftists always do. And the fragmentation among the protesters, and between the protesters and the leftist establishment, leading to disarray and disillusionment and ultimately the demise of this cause until the next leftist cause comes along giving the left yet another vehicle with which to damage society, is also what leftists always do. There is nothing new here.

Steve Benson of the Arizona Republic Protests Saberpoint Article That Criticized Him

Steve Benson is objecting to the dressing down I gave him after he printed a cartoon showing Sarah Palin with a pistol for a mouth.  This was right after the Jared Loughner mass murder in Tuscon.  Benson was attempting to tie Sarah Palin's "targeted districts" map to Loughner's mass murder.  There was, of course, no connection.  His cartoon was slander in the extreme.

Apparently, he's a bit upset that I disdained the Pulitzer prize, since it is most often awarded to the most extreme political leftists, like him.  Unfair, Steve?  And your cartoon, was that fair?

He has already made two comments at my post located here.

It's nice to know that I got under his skin; that's exactly what I intended to do.

Check out the post and the comments if so inclined.

Update:  I cannot be sure that this commenter is indeed Steve Benson; it may just be another troll who is pulling my leg to waste my time.  However, my statcounter revealed numerous google searches for Steve Benson that originated from Cox Communications in Arizona.

Update 2:  I received another message from this commenter stating that he is indeed the right Steve Benson.

As One Democrat Goes After the Second Amendment, A Second Goes After the First

Another unscrupulous Democrat is taking advantage of the Arizona murders to attack the Constitution.  However, this Democrat is going after the First Amendment's protections for free speech.
Washington (CNN) - Rep. Robert Brady, D-Pennsylvania, said he will introduce legislation making it a federal crime for a person to use language or symbols that could be perceived as threatening or inciting violence against a Member of Congress or federal official.
Brady's decision to offer the legislation comes less than 24 hours after a gunman attempted to assassinate Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Arizona, in a shooting that claimed the lives of a federal judge, and a nine year-old girl, among others.
"This is not a wake up call, this is major alarms going off," he said.
Brady is particularly incensed over a web posting by former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin during the 2010 election in which she targeted 20 House Democrats, including Giffords for political defeat. The posting showed a map of the United States with the 20 Democratic congressional districts identified by gun sights.
Brady is a flaming hypocrite.  He is "upset" by a map with gunsights on districts (not on people) but totally unmoved by brazen advocacy of presidential assassination as documented in my previous post.  That, however, is beside the point.  There is no connection between anything Sarah Palin said or did with the Arizona shootings.  Brady's disingenuous stand, therefore, is not designed to correct an actual condition, but to impugn Sarah Palin.

Such legislation, if passed, could be used in a highly subjective manner to persecute and prosecute political opponents by the party in power.  The left's relentless pursuit of censorship and suppression of free speech has a purpose:  they cannot win elections if their political opponents are allowed to speak.

Thoughts on the Arizona Shooting Today

I was in a tax seminar all day and away from my computer, so just found out about the shooting in Arizona today.  Some FA shot a congresswoman through the brain and killed a federal judge and several others.  The perp was a 22 year old punk and his motivation is as yet unknown.  It could be that his only motivation was that he is insane.

Of course, the left will blame it on Sarah Palin, the Tea Parties, the GOP and conservatives. Their logic is that if we don't have communism, people will go crazy from want and start killing public officials.  Either that, or the perpetrator was driven lethally mad from listening to right wing talk shows or by reading Sarah Palin's Facebook page or from watching Fox News.  The left is entirely predictable and as usual, completely devoid of all decency as they attempt to make political hay out of a tragedy.

The lady congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) was shot through the brain but the report is that doctors are optimistic about her chances for recovery.  How this can be is not clear, but sometimes (if I remember right) if a bullet passes through the very middle of the brain, it only damages the connective tissue in the middle, and that particular tissue is not as critical as the gray matter on either side.  However, if the brain swells it can kill the victim, as happened when Robert F. Kennedy was shot back in 1968.  Let's all hope for the best for Rep Giffords.

Five other people besides the judge were killed and around a dozen wounded.  This doesn't appear to be a targeted killing so much as the rampage of a lunatic.  We'll have to wait to find out, of course.

Update:  Some sites are reporting that the suspect, one Jared Loughner, is a leftwing liberal who posted a video of himself burning the American flag on YouTube. See Atlas Shrugs and Moonbattery for details.

Now that we know the shooter was a liberal, it's time for a little backatcha:
What is it about "progressive" politics that drives men to commit heinous crimes?  Is it because liberals teach young people to despise their own country through years of anti-American brainwashing?  It it because these young people become intensely frustrated after being programmed with an enormous sense of entitlement?  It is it because the left has taught them that the world owes them a living, and that all the evil totalitarian regimes in the world are in the right while the USA is always in the wrong?

One can only wonder about Jared Loughner.  He was probably driven to madness by watching Rachel Maddow on MSNBC or Chris Matthews on Hardball, or perhaps by listening to leftist propaganda on NPR. No doubt the class warfare pushed by liberal politicians like Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid had an important impact.

Oh liberals and Democrats, HAVE YOU NO SHAME for the evil that your hateful rhetoric and divisive polices have wrought?

UPDATE:  Atlas Shrugs has reported that Gabrielle Giffords is the first Jewish representative from Arizona.  Liberals have been spouting anti-semitic propaganda for some time now, demonizing Israel and praising their murderous Muslim attackers.  Yep, there is one more reason to blame the left for this tragedy, their hostility to Israel and left wing antisemitism.

Pamela Geller on the Sarah Palin Haters

Pamela Geller has just posted an excellent article on the lunatic left's rabid hatred of Sarah Palin, most recently expressed in hateful, Photoshopped pictures of Palin's infant son, Trig Palin.
The terrible argument the lefties are using to justify their disgraceful behavior is to say that Palin made Trig "fair game" by bringing him on stage at the Republican National Convention. They say she herself made Trig a tool of political propaganda and can't now complain about the Photoshops. Liberals are very good at making up ridiculous arguments on the fly to support their grossly immoral, anti-human and anti-American behavior.

Geller points out, however, that Barack Obama brought his two young daughers on stage at the Democratic Convention. Does that make the little girls "fair game" for slander and ridicule?

Don't worry, those little girls are safe. We on the Right represent civilization; it is the Left that represents barbarism, nihilism and rabid hatred -- to the point of attacking infant children with disabilities.

Why does the Left hate Sarah Palin with such wild abandon? Because Sarah Palin is pretty, useful, wholesome and NORMAL. And they're not.

Great Blog Posts for Sunday

Charles Johnson runs fake photograph at Little Green Footballs, believing it to be real. Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs, in his continuing war on "Euro-fascists," posted a picture of two European politicians (Philip Dewinter of Vlaams Belang and Markus Beisicht of Pro-Köln) shaking hands in front of a street demonstration complete with red flags and (he thought) neo-fascist symbols. The smoking gun! However, the photograph was "fauxtography," a Photoshopped fake. Charles Johnson had been fooled and in venting his obsession with "Euro-fascism" made a fool of himself. Again.

Robert Spencer has the pathetic story at Jihad Watch.

Delaware University's Leftist Indoctrination Program for New Students
The FIRE is an organization supporting academic freedom on college campuses and is pursuing very worthy causes. They created a video of Delaware's recent indoctrination program for new students. The program was some of the worst Marxist propaganda I have ever seen. It begins with the premise that America is ruled by "White Supremacy," that all white people are people "of privilege" and that "racism" is whatever supports this system of white privilege. It's ridiculous and asinine in the extreme. Stop the ACLU has the video at this link.

A FIRE spokesman described this program as "not how to think but what to think" and totalitarian in nature.

Our universities, by and large, have long been a cesspool of the most extreme leftist/communist/Marxist ideology -- and it is they who are shaping attitudes and beliefs of our future leaders. This latest scandal only shows how they do it -- with insidious brain-washing propaganda.

Never in the history of the United States has a president worked so actively against the interests of his own people - not even Jimmy Carter. That's the conclusion of Gerald Warner of the UK Telegraph. He refers to Obama as "President Pantywaist" and the description is apt. Read his article Barack Obama and the CIA: why does President Pantywaist hate America so badly?

President Obama is a disaster for the United States of America. If the GOP can retake the House and Senate, they should not pass go but proceed immediately to impeaching the traitorous train wreck.

Aunty Belle's Back Porch has a great article of American Aid to other nations. It's called "Foreign Policy 101." Each vignette features some foreigner asking an impertient question with a devastating response from the American official. Each one ends with the sentence "You could have heard a pin drop."

The Southern Poverty Law Center: A Leftwing Propaganda Machine

Yesterday, when looking for images of one of my favorite bloggers (and long time internet friends), I was surprised to see a nasty story about him on the website of the Southern Poverty Law Center (the SPLC).

They described him as a "racist and white-supremacist." He's nothing of the sort. Once again, as they have done countless times before, the SPLC slandered a conservative figure with total disregard for the truth. As usual, they provided no specifics to prove that this individual was a "racist," and relied on innuendo and "guilt by association" commentary. He was once a member of the "white supremacist and racist League of the South." Hey, so was I. The only problem is that the League of the South was not "white supremacist or racist. " At least it wasn't in its early days, when my friend and I were members. I haven't really looked into its political positions as they may have evolved since then.

In the early days of the League of the South, various groups were vying for control. There was a very definite racist faction, small and vocal, and here I will define "racism" as being a strong antipathy towards black people and other non-whites. The anti-racist faction fought this racial antipathy and didn't want it to be part of the League. They wanted membership open to all. The individual slandered by the SPLC, as described above, was a leader of the anti-racist faction. When the book "the Bell Curve" came out, describing a lower average IQ for black people, this individual refused to believe it. He stated publicly that he didn't believe that God would do that to black people. He even came up with arguments from other authors to refute the Bell Curve.

This high-mindedness, however, proved to be of no benefit to leftist slimes like the SPLC. On their website they brag about how they cost this individual a job by revealing his "extremist past" to his employer. The only problem is that he has no "extremist past," unless being a libertarian makes you one. Oh yes, and a former member of the League of the South.

He later left the League, as did I; I won't go into the reasons. However, note the SPLC's highly refined sliming technique. They pick out a conservative organization and declare it to be "extremist" and "racist." Now that they have defined it as such, they can declare that you have "an extremist past" if you've ever been a member!

You are an "extremist" only by their subjective definition, not by objectively proven facts. Also, your alleged "extremism" is based only on your peaceful, political beliefs that you pursue in peaceful ways. Most people think of an "extremist" as someone who blows things up and murders people. However, to the SPLC, an extremist is anyone who doesn't agree with them, no matter how peaceful or lawful they are otherwise.

The Southern Poverty Law Center is in the business of slander to achieve political and financial ends. It's a great way to marginalize conservatives who are becoming too effective, and it's a great advertising gimmick for the SPLC, who can claim that they are "fighting hate" when all they are really doing is desseminatng vicious propaganda. Notable conservatives like David Horowitz (for opposing reparations for slavery) and Michelle Malkin (for opposing illegal immigration) have been SPLC targets in the recent past. (A great project would be to list all conservatives who have ever been called a "racist" by the Southern Poverty Law Center. It would be a long list.)

Anyone who is opposed to illegal immigration is a potential target. The SPLC will call you a "nativist" and a "hater." What then can be done about illegal immigration, in the eyes of the SPLC? Absolutely nothing. Anyone who wants to come in can come in, citizen or not, and we are powerless to stop them, lest we be labeled "racists," "nativists," or "extremists" by the SPLC.

The SPLC is despicable. Someone really needs to sue their asses off.

It would be time consuming and expensive, and the plaintiff would be treated to public excoriation, slime and slander on a massive scale by the SPLC. I suppose that's why no one has sued them before. Also, they are an organization of leftwing attorneys and have plenty of in-house counsel, so getting sued wouldn't cost them the massive fortune it costs the targets of their slander.

What can you do? Here are a few thoughts:
1. Don't quote the Southern Poverty Law Center on any statistics regarding "hate" or "racism." Hate and racism, to the far left, is anything that impedes the socialist revolution. The SPLC is not a credible source of such statistics.

2. Be aware that the SPLC has a serious political agenda, that it is far left, and that it colors all of their beliefs, practices and public statements. On the question of racism, "white-supremacy" and extremism, they are the boy crying wolf. They are not remotely objective and are dishonest and unfair.

Give them a wide berth.

The Real Robert Stacy McCain Stands Up

Frankly I was a bit disappointed when I read that an old online ally of mine, Robert Stacy McCain, began advocating "blog whoring" and cheesecake as a way to increase your blog hits. McCain is a serious writer and thinker and need not resort to such fluff.

Today the real Stacy McCain (which is what we, his older bunch of friends, are used to calling him) stood up. He has posted a great article about two heros of mine, one being Rush Limbaugh and the other General George S. Patton.

Lately the Democrats have been trying to "take out Rush" by smearing him; that's nothing new -- they've been trying it for years and it always blows up in their dishonest, lying faces. All their efforts have done is to demonstrate the Democrats' basic personal dishonesty and Machiavellian bent.

Stacy writes:

There is an entire mini-industry of Limbaugh monitors, vile little left-wing worms who spend three hours a day recording and transcribing his broadcasts in hope of catching that one "gotcha" quote. (Pathetic, isn't it?)

These nests of vermin specialize in the Ransom-Note Method of partial quotation, claiming to be "fact-checking" Limbaugh's monologues when in fact they're just partisan smearmongers. And then there is the standing offer of a handsome fee for a Newsweek cover story available to any Republican who will denounce Rush. So the man is always a target, always the object of the withering gaze of critical scrutiny.

Do I agree with everything Rush Limbaugh has ever said? What kind of question is that? The point is that Rush "is a man, you know," as the driver of Fairway Cab No. 1 so succinctly put it at CPAC. Whatever Limbaugh's faults, he has that one redeeming value: Courage to speak out, even when speaking out makes him the target of vicious personal smears.

Read the whole thing here. Be sure to read the story of Patton that follows it.

Thanks Stacy. Cheesecake is a dessert and always goes best when served after a good meal of red meat.

Colombian Rescue: Leftist Rumor Mongering Right on Cue

Exactly as Le Blog Drzz predicted, leftists claims that the Colombian rescue mission was "staged" are right on cue.

The U.K. Mail Online headline for Monday, July 7 screams:

Freed hostage Betancourt returns to France amid claims Colombian rebels were paid a £10 million ransom

At the Puffington Ho, one reader noted that McCain was present in Colombia at the time the raid was carried out. "This has 'staged' written all over it," she said.

An MSNBC spokesman wondered on TV if "the Colombian hostage rescue was a ruse by McCain." See video clip at this link.

It's interesting how good news is bad for Democratic and leftist politicians, so they have to suppress it or at least color it with doubt and suspicion. If good news is bad for your party, maybe you're in the wrong party. If your political success relies so heavily on propaganda, what does that say about your politics? Think about it kids.

FARC Communists Lying About Colombian Rescue Operation

The FARC Marxists of Colombia, embarrassed by having high level hostages snatched from beneath their noses, have launched a propaganda offensive through leftist blogs and websites.

They are claiming that the Colombian military's rescue operation this past week was "staged," not real, fake. Tell that to French citizen (and Colombian Presidential candidate) Ingrid Betancourt, three Americans and a number of Colombians who were freed by the raid.

According to the leftist Swiss Roman Radio, the FARC communists were offered 20 million dollars to release the hostages and agree to the staged rescue operation. But for what purpose? Obviously, to make Colombian President Uribe look good so he can be reelected. However, Uribe is limited by the Colombian constitution to two terms and is in his second term now.

Miguel Garroté reports that this false story is being supported by leftist journalists in Colombia and elsewhere, who will report the story as fact. Tomorrow, Sunday, July 6, the Colombian weekly "Semana" is going to publish an article about the rescue operation, claiming it was actually a ransom situation camouflaged as an audacious commando operation by the Uribe government.

Clever, these Marxists. Like most leftists, they are good at spinning the facts and creating new conspiracy theories. It's an effective technique. No matter how absurd or far-fetched, such alternative explanations of world events will be believed by many. The effect will be to dampen the public outpouring of support for Uribe, reducing him from a hero to a fraud and even a villain.

It is similar to what the left did to George W. Bush: instead of allowing him to be presented as the heroic President fighting back at an Islamic attack on America, they claimed that he was actually a vile traitor who had staged 9/11 for his own political gain. Instead of giving him credit for attacking Iraq to prevent it from using weapons of mass destruction, they accused him of lying about such weapons in order to start a war for oil.

Such leftist techniques are by now well known and to be expected.
