One More Week Before the Vote

It's hard to believe, but the last two years of waiting is almost at an end.  One week from today we go to the polls to express our electoral disgust at the way Obama and the Democrats have destroyed the economy.

The buzz is that California will be a hold out in this next Republican revolution -- they will proudly and stubbornly be wrong once again.  While Californians struggle with 22% unemployment, free soup kitchens and food banks, they will nevertheless vote for the party who made their poverty possible.  My disgust for the California electorate knows no bounds; they are firmly, solidly and reflexively leftist.

As soon as the mortgage company kicks us out of this house, I will have to move somewhere.  Maybe that somewhere should be somewhere else.  Texas, perhaps.  Suggestions are welcome.

Join us in beautiful North Idaho - home to the countries largest population of bitter clingers and retirement haven for hundreds of L.A. cops (really!)

Check out Coeur d' Alene and Post Falls.

I visited Idaho many years ago, on a camping trip with my parents. I loved it. It was one of the most beautiful states I had ever seen.

Thanks for the tip!

I would vote with my feet for Virginia or North Carolina. Both are beautiful states with remarkably strong business sectors at this time.

Hi, Stogie.

I share your view concerning California. I have no doubt the Californians will bring this beautiful State to its knees, they are blind to reality.

I can't afford to support these morons any more, their latest prank being to re-assess my house upward when the values keep plunging so that they will collect more taxes this year. That was the last drop, so I have sold my house (way below the "assessment") and I am moving to Alabama. Everyone I talk to also wants to leave California - actually, I met yesterday the only person who said he will stay.

Some day in the not too distant future, the only ones left to support the Feds, the illegals and the myriad of professional politicians will be the Hollywood set - and I bet they will find a way to escape that responsibility too.

This is a sad state of affairs for California, but some people are hopeless, I doubt they would understand even if a bomb would land on their kitchen table.

Atikva, Alabama is the home of my ancestors. I'd like to live there too. My mother-in-law is in a hospice, so we will stay until she passes. Then I will do some serious investigating of other regions.

LCR, I would gladly live in either Virginia or North Carolina! Great minds think alike.

I'm disappointed in the California electorate as well, but there's always 2012!!

NC is an odd mix. Most heavily taxed state in the Southeast, but still low compared to what you're used to, I'm sure. Some parts (unfortunately the part I'm in) are rather Leftist, but the state as a whole manages to be a great place to live despite this. Virginia is too close to DC for my taste - I like to keep at least some distance between myself and the bottomless pit of corruption.

You ever think about teaching. Schools always need math teachers and some HS need accounting teachers.

Just a thought...

EM, I'd love to live in Virginia due my interest in the Civil War. Also, I wouldn't mind being close to D.C., since there are a lot of events there that I could attend and then blog about.

Vegas, teaching would be fun. Don't you have to have a teaching credential for that? You do in California.

Donald, I don't think California will grow a brain even by 2012. But then again, I once believed the same about Massachusetts!

Stogie,
If you have a BS or BA degree you can go the alternative route for licensing. They give you the education courses only and then you can teach. If you plan on moving check the state where you think you would move to for the details. Three things schools need math teachers, science teachers, and Special Ed teachers (those folks are angels).
