Problem is, the damage is already done. The use of IEDs in both wars has exposed thousands of men to traumatic brain damage. Taking proper care of them will be a huge financial burden for this country.
My cousin Travis returned a changed man. He used to be the happy-go-lucky type, but his constant irritability made his wife leave him. Now he's lost his job with the post office.
We should observe the old rule of politics: When you've dug yourself into a hole, stop digging. So yes, we need to end all three wars, and let Bill Kristol fade into a well-deserved obscurity.

This notion that those savages can ever be civilized must end. Their entire history is of some form of strongman rule either Monarchy, military or a theocracy. When one thinks about it Iran is the closest any of these Moslem nations has ever come to some form of representative government for any length of time.

Adobe Walls, I agree. One may as well attempt to put a tribe of aborigines into tuxedos and teach them to have tea and crumpets in a fine ball room with polite society.
Old Rebel, I agree that the neocon desire to export democracy (to barbarians)is extremely foolish. It isn't worth the cost in blood and money, and after all is said and done, they will undoubtedly revert to their primitive state at the first opportunity.
