Osama Bin Laden Reported Killed by CIA Ground Operation

President Obama has announced that Osama Bin Laden has been killed in Pakistan by the CIA.

Bloomberg is reporting:

Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has been killed by a team of U.S. operatives earlier today after a firefight at a house where he had been hiding, President Barack Obama said.

“On nights like this one we can say to those families who have lost loved ones to al Qaeda’s terror: Justice has been done,” Obama said in a late-night televised address from the White House.

Obama delivered the news to the nation almost 10 years after the Sept. 11 attacks that bin Laden orchestrated. Bin Laden was killed, along with other members of his family in a mansion outside Islamabad, an official said. Almost 3,000 people were killed on Sept. 11, most at the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Virginia just outside of Washington.

The body has been recovered and DNA testing will be performed to verify that the corpse is indeed that of Osama Bin Laden.  Let us hope that it is true.

Michelle Malkin has more details here.  According to Malkin, one of Bin Laden's sons was killed with him.

Ann Althouse reports that Obama stated in his announcement of the death:

that Obama reminds us that we "are not at war with Islam." He says Bin Laden was not a Muslim, but a terrorist murderer.

Wrong, Mr. President.  Obama was indeed a devoted Muslim who was acting in the name of his murderous religion.  In any case, thank God this monster is dead.
