Debbie Schlussel has posted an article about a new reality show designed to portray American Muslims as just one, poor, misunderstood minority. The tagline of the show is "One Nation, Under Suspicion," and yes, we should indeed be suspicious, with domestic Muslims killing other citizens in the name of their religion, the most egregious of which was that of Major Nidal Malik Hasan, who shot and killed thirteen people at Fort Hood two years ago. Other Muslims have been involved in terrorist plots and in supporting terrorist organizations, as well as attempting to set off bombs in Times Square and shooting people (an airlines passenger at LA Airport, a Jewish woman in Seattle, an army recruiter in Oregon).
Funny thing about that new "reality" show, some of the poor, misunderstood Muslims belong to organizations that support Hezbollah and HAMAS. Schlussel writes:
And while the show tries to pretend that these Muslims are “just like us,” just like any other Americans, the fact is they aren’t, and the show won’t ask them probing questions, like asking them to condemn Hezbollah and HAMAS. In fact, as I pointed out, most, if not all, of the Muslims on the show are Shi’ite Muslims of Lebanese descent. They all support Hezbollah.
