Glorious Fall
I love the fall season. The persimmons on my backyard tree are ripe and almost ready to pick. They need another couple of weeks or so.

You have a persimmon tree? I'm jealous!
All my life, I've LOVED persimmons.
When I was growing up, there was a wild persimmon tree in the woods belonging to our neighbor. He didn't like persimmons, so I had permission to harvest. But I always had to beat the opossums to the persimmons, which fell on the ground after the first hard frost.
AOW, yes we have a persimmon tree, and the fruit is sweet and delicious. Funny, it only produces fruit every other year, but 2011 is one of the years. Possums don't attack the fruit, but birds sometimes ruin a few.
You can buy persimmons at Safeway, but they cost around $1.45 each.
set up a fruit stand and sell a few
