The Battle for America: Already Lost?

The Democrats are moving heaven and earth to pass their socialized medical bill, using highly dubious means that appear unconstitutional and ruthless.  Anger over this is at the boiling point, not only among conservatives, but many Americans of differing political persuasions.

I, however, remain calm.  I suppose it's because I have almost reconciled myself to the end of America as we know it.  The situation, as I see it, is no longer to defeat the socialist juggernaut that sees its goals within reach, but to find ways to nullify and resist the increasingly tyrannical rule being foisted upon us.

Many states are planning to sue the federal government over Obamacare, and constitutional challenges to its passage are being planned.  Obama's impeachment is now being discussed as a real possibility.  We should try and remove this radical leftist from the presidency by any legal means possible.  He is a disaster, just as we predicted he would be.

It is obvious that the Democrats' pursuit of a new, socialist America will not be deterred by the will of the people or the unpopularity of their schemes.   The question now is how can we best resist and nullify the damage that they have wrought.

Gov Rick Perry Says Texas May Refuse Obamacare

I have been posting for some time that the individual states should refuse to go along with Obama's socialist agenda. They can pass laws until they're blue in the face, but red states should simply tell the Feds to shove it.
Governor Rick Perry of Texas seems to agree. He strongly implied that if Obamacare passes, Texas will resist its implementation in the state of Texas, citing states' rights as a defense.

This is exactly the kind of REBELLION I had in mind. I may move to Texas yet.

Freedom Ain't Free: American Tea Party Anthem

This was passed on to me by Infidel Bloggers Alliance. It's a swinging song with a gospel beat and all the energy and joy thereof. It was written by a black patriot, Lloyd Marcus. IBA is hoping it will go viral so do feel free to repost it on your own site.

Chuck Norris to Run for President...of Texas

Chuck Norris, in his column at World Net Daily, thinks a "Second American Revolution" may be in the offing in light of Obama's incurring "perpetual debt" and giving aid and recognition to Muslim terrorist groups like Hamas. Norris has stated, not entirely tongue-in-cheek, that he might consider running for office: President of Texas. That would have to be after Texas secedes from the Union.

Norris notes that Texas was once a republic on its own, a nation called Texas before it was a state named Texas. Actually there are two states that can claim that distinction, i.e. of being a stand-alone Republic. California is the other. Norris believes that more than one state might secede from the Union rather than go along with the nation that the United States is becoming.

Norris is wrong about one thing -- it would be the third American revolution; the War Between the States was the second, fought over the question of whether any state had the right to secede from the Union. Abraham Lincoln thought not; in that, he was wrong; but what he didn't have to prove in court he enforced on the battlefield. Many Constitutional scholars still believe that states are sovereign bodies with the right to secede. I believe they are correct yet I hope it will never come to that. I'd rather see a less drastic solution.

Obama and the Democrats ought to proceed with great caution. The proliferating "tea parties" accross the country, Obama's plunging popularity and the growth of movements like the Oath-Keepers portend a revolutionary mood. There will be no "road to socialism"; there will be no abrogation of the Second Amendment and no confiscation of private firearms. It doesn't matter how big of a plurality of votes he won in the last election -- Obama may not suspend the Constitution of the United States. The people will not stand for it.

My Latest Non-Political Posts

My friend Kate in France noticed that lately I have been posting on non-political subjects. She's right.

The political situation for our country seems dire to me, if not disasterous. The far left is in control and poised to do all the nasty things they've been promising forever: gut the military, socialize the economy, remove guns from private ownership, and shut down conservative talk radio. Their latest gambit is an attempt to take over the national census which will allow them to influence the number of representatives in Congress -- probably by adding "estimates" of non-responders in Democrat strongholds and thereby increasing the number of Democrat representatives. They tried that once before under Clinton, but didn't have control of the census. Rest assured, Barack "Acorn" Obama will try it again, and that explains this latest power grab.

I don't see how the country can hang together with these fools in power. America won't be America any more. In many conservative blogs and online venues, I see conservatives talking revolution and secession if the liberals make good on their promises. Perhaps we have come to that; only time will tell.

Meanwhile the gigantic porkfest underway in Washington will debauch the economy for decades to come and all but bankrupt future generations of Americans, who will still be paying for it when we're all dead.

What can we do about it at this point? Try like hell to organize and elect Republicans in the next midterm elections; create effective opposition and resistance to the Democrat power grab, any way we can. Stall for time until we can boot the bums out.

There's a gentle rain falling outside my window. For now I will let it whisper me to sleep and let tomorrow's cares wait.
