The Slow Death of Western Civilization

I am not blind to the problems of immigrants. My wife is a legal immigrant and a naturalized citizen of the United States. My daughter in law is a legal resident and immigrant from Canada. Both my wife and my daughter in law had to jump through many legal hoops to get here; they both played by the rules and respected U.S. law.

Until the latest demonstrations in favor of illegal immigrants, I had retained a certain amount of sympathy for those Mexican illegals who come to the U.S. seeking work. I guess I still have a little, but my attitude towards illegals is growing harder. Here we have millions of them in the United States, many on welfare, many committing crimes, and still we have to listen to the latest morality play. The illegals insult us by demanding non-existent rights while waving their Mexican flags and calling us racist names. See photo at left. This is our home, Senor Jerkoff, and we aren't going anywhere. But you are.

Western Civilization has grown soft, like cowardly, over-doting parents who respond to their spoiled childrens' tantrums by caving into their demands. The brats learn early that temper tantrums yield goodies. Soon they come to believe that every kindness, every gift, every consideration is a sacred right and they are enraged when they don't get it. France is the primary example, but the USA isn't far behind.

There is more going on here than meets the eye. In the 1930's an Italian Communist, Antonio Gramsci, posited that Western capitalism could not be overthrown without first destroying the religion and culture. He argued for a long-term infiltration and corruption of our culture, a kind of cultural terrorism, where the existing belief system could be torn down and replaced over time with group-think Socialism. The Left has supported Gramsci's program for years, though they may be unaware of it. If our borders are erased, if our language is no longer primary, if Christianity can be ridiculed and removed from public view, then we become a shadow of our former selves, no longer possessing the will to resist and defend our civilization. In short, we no longer have moral clarity, no longer have confidence in ourselves or our traditions.

Examples of these Gramscian schemes can be seen in the ACLU suing schools for allowing Christmas caroles at Christmas, or government funded art displaying a crucifix in a jar of urine, or local governments and universities banning the American flag for fear it will offend foreigners who hate us. Another example might be the idiocy of same-sex marriage, another sacred cause of the Left. The Left has also furthered their cause by persuading ethnic groups to refuse assimilation while retaining their native tongue rather than learning English. Their latest attacks are to remove our Southern border, allowing Mexican nationals to enter and leave at will, with all the rights and privileges of U.S. citizenship but without any of its obligations. The idiots in my state of California even voted to pay for illegals' college education by treating them the same as residents.

Western Civilization is not being attacked head on; it is being dissolved, slowly, over time. We are not dying from one huge thrust of the scimitar, we are dying the death of a thousand cuts. We hardly notice it's happening, and that allows the weak to rationalize inaction.

Remember the old analogy of the frog? If you throw a frog into a pot of boiling water it will jump out immediately; but if you put him in a pot of cold water and increase the temperature slowly, he will boil to death before he realizes there is a problem.

Fellow frogs, it's time we realize that this pot we're in is not a sauna. We must do something about it.
