That Nasty Voice Inside Your Head

I've been reading a book by Sandra Champlain titled "We Don't Die."  The title is a little misleading, as it implies the book is an argument for life after death.  The author does indeed believe in life after death, and I strongly lean in that direction myself.  However, the book is more of a self-help book with spiritual overtones.  I was expecting a book about electronic voice phenomena (EVP), and almost stopped reading when it became apparent that the book was more about personal success in life.

However, I didn't stop, and am glad that I did not, because the book had a lot more value than one solely about EVP.  The biggest benefit the book has had for me, so far, is to quiet the negative voice in my head, the omnipresent critic, the one who keeps telling me that I am an idiot, a fool, a failure, a clod, a moron, and that I couldn't play bass because that's for other people, not me.  Nobody loves me and I am a poor miserable victim, WAAAAAAH!  You probably have the same voice in your head -- we all do.  I named mine Melvin.

The problem with "the Voice" is that it is a negative kind of mantra, an evil prayer and self-fulfilling prophecy.  If you listen to the nasty little bugger, you may just give up on life, your goals, your dreams.  You may quit your job, become a hermit, or worse, vote Democrat.  However, you can quiet the voice.  Lately I have just been telling it SHUT THE HELL UP!

Whenever you hear the voice, be aware of its message, and consciously reject it.  When Melvin (my Voice) tells me "you are a fool," I reply:  I have been a fool many times, but that's the price of being human; I am a work in progress, and am improving all the time. Now piss off!

The Shallowness of Atheism

I really don't care what anyone believes about God, as long as they believe it peacefully and do not attempt to impose their beliefs on me through coercive means.  "Coercive means," for purposes of this discussion, include using Congress and the courts to subvert the First Amendment.

Atheists, however, are particularly annoying in their religious beliefs.  Yes, atheism is a form of religion, as it is believed on faith -- a negative kind of faith, but faith nonetheless.  To know whether God exists, one would have to be God himself.  Man's comparatively minuscule intellect is insufficient to answer the question.    Therefore, many of us believe, on faith, that there is a higher power and a higher purpose to our existence.

Atheists, on the other hand, insist that God does not exist, that God is a myth and religion a delusion.  They are actually rather impatient, even intolerant with those who disagree.  After all, the question is entirely clear to them, and they assume that their personal clarity on the issue should be shared by all.  In this regard, they are no different from any fanatical sect who insists that theirs represents THE ONE TRUE RELIGION, that all other religions are doomed to fail and only they are possessed of God's grace, acceptance and enlightenment.

I recently saw a video by the atheist Pat Condell, whose anti-Islam rants I love, haughtily insist that "there is no God."  He knows.  His is "the one true religion."

Atheism is similar to color blindness, and atheists are like color-blind fanatics insisting that green, red, blue and yellow do not exist, and that those who see them are delusional.  Atheists are entitled to their beliefs, but I wish they would stop wearing their religion on their sleeve and trying to push it off on everyone else.

Black Racist Threatens the Stogmeister

I have been arguing with black racists and white liberals at YouTube, where the Onion editor and chief crybaby posted a video about Donald Trump's alleged racism, white supremacy and Klan membership.  I received a threat from one of the blacks, YouTube user Sjahi (his YouTube channel is here); it was deleted at YouTube by an editor, but I received a copy of it automatically by email.  I replied to Sjahi, telling him that I had received his threat and to bring it on; I also rebutted his earlier assertion that I was "ignorant and uneducated" by informing him that I hold a bachelor's degree.  He replied back to me:
Clearly you got that BS (Bullshit) degree on the basis of the original affirmative action, i.e., being white. I, on the otherhand, meritoriously earned my Doctorate degree at Georgetown University. But of course because you are white, and was responding to a black man, you automatically assumed that you were better educated. Your adherence to the false notion of White supremacy will be the end of you.

I don't need to threatened you physically. So, I don't give a fuck about what they did with my post based on your punk-ass whinning. My comment was to show how you bigoted cowards are so brave in your vitriol towards blacks online but don't have the balls to face a black person face to face and spit your venom. You are no threat to me because you have never been, is not now nor will you ever be my equal intellectually, culturally, spiritually or otherwise. The greatest threat that I and every black man pose to you and your kind is genetic annihilation. The African gene, as well as the genes of every other ethnicity of color is genetically superior to white genes of european descent. White people are genetic mutations. What animals in nature are naturally white and lack pigment besides some birds and those animals that live in snow white environments like polar bears? Barack Obama is a prime example of this scentific reality. Which genes do you think is dominate his genetically inferior white mother or the genes of his African father? You know the answer, which is why you ignorant bigots are soooo afraid. Stay afraid. I want you to be afraid. We wish we could instill the sense of fear white bigots and racist instilled in black people for 400 years.

But if you want to show me just how brave you really are I am willing to send a paid (non-cashable) airline ticket to the airport nearest you to have you fly to my locale...one way of course. I really would like to see you mouth off to my face with your racial bigotry and hatred.
Note his offer to send me a one-way airline ticket to his locale, an implied promise to kill me if I accept.

Black racism towards whites is far more severe than the other way around, and the moron known as Sjahi is but one example among many.  It is a fact, just as black-on-white violence is a fact.  It is also a fact that black dysfunction drives white racism, much more so than the opposite.  Just being honest, folks.

Nevertheless, there are many good and great people who are either black or partially black.  We could run one of them -- either Herman Cain or Allen West, both decent, brave and wise men.  However, liberals are especially hateful to black conservatives and either of these gentlemen would be denounced as an Uncle Tom or race traitor, and the left would do whatever it could to destroy them.  The left and the black underclass would not be impressed with the skin color of these men.

So what do we do with the black underclass?  Leave them alone?  No.  We need to administer "tough love," by telling them the truth about themselves:  they are major fuck-ups and we are sick and tired of their social pathology and excuses for same;  they are solely responsible for their own lives, life choices and mistakes, and blaming "white racism" is a childish cop-out, a denial of personal responsibility, a refusal to grow up and act like civilized adults.  It is time for these blacks to confront the high levels of violence and social dysfunction that they bring to American civilization and to begin learning the civilizational skills they need to fit in, to become self-supporting, productive and peaceful citizens.  White silence on the matter momentarily exculpates us from the predictable howls of racism, but does nothing to solve the problem for the long run, and is nothing more than cowardice.

Thoughts on Gays

Yesterday I received a note from my younger brother about my post on Jim Carrey's Gay Gross-Out.  He was disappointed to learn that I am accepting of gays, whom the bible says are an abomination unto the Lord.

I replied that I believe gays are born that way, that it is something genetic and that they can't help it.  He disagreed, saying that many gays have been rendered straight through the power of the gospel.

I also pointed out that if being cruel and hateful to gays will make them straight, then let's go for it.  However, being cruel and hateful to gays only makes a lot of them commit suicide.  It doesn't make them straight.

So what then are we to do with gays?  Simple:  leave them alone.  If you have a gay member of your family, do not ostracize them, but treat them like anyone else.  If God has a problem with his own creation, then let God figure it out.  You don't have to.

The Bail-Out: Watching the Barbarians Ransack Rome

It is truly horrifying, but a bit surreal, watching the Democrats dismantle the country and the economy. I imagine it's sort of like watching the barbarians ransack Rome. The mighty Roman army is no longer able to stop them.

The Democrats must feel like those barbarians. Carry off the gold and silver, ravage the women, drink the wine! There's no one to stop them. No accountability, no deterrance, no consequences.

Or, it's like watching one of those movie westerns where a band of bad guys ride into town where there's no sheriff and shoot the place up, ride their horses into the saloon, guzzle whiskey from stolen bottles, break windows while hollering "Yahoo!" Find a tinhorn and make him dance by firing bullets at his feet. We the audience are so P.O.ed watching this and can hardly wait til Clint Eastwood shows up to put the bastards in their place. Only we don't have a Clint Eastwood in our current drama.

Or, it's like watching the pandemonium on the Titanic as the passgeners realize, finally, that the ship really is sinking and there are only a few more lifeboats left. I remember one of the passengers in the film saying, "We've been dealt a bad hand." And so we have. The U.S.S. Economy has hit an iceberg and all the Democrats are below decks with hand drills, making new holes in the keel to let in more water. That'll save us.

I feel like the rich gentlemen passengers on the Titanic who saw the pandemonium and quickly surmised that they were doomed. They didn't scream and shout and run around in circles. They just stayed at their table in the smoking lounge, playing cards and smoking cigars. They figured: it's over so screw it. Let the damn ship sink.

I know how they felt.

Update: I think I just figured out why I feel like doing nothing in light of this unfolding disaster. While a train wreck is happening, you can't do much about it. You have to wait until until the wreckage stops moving before you can survey the damage and come up with a repair plan. Until it does all you can do is duck.

Have I Been Too Subtle in My Criticisms of Liberalism?

After reviewing my last few posts, I fear I may have been too subtle in my criticisms of leftwingers and liberalism. To clarify, I just want to say that I gently disagree with liberals about nearly everything, including the law of gravity, the color of the sky, the nature of reality and the price of tea in China.

Other than that, we're good.

PALESTINE: EXPAND THE OCCUPATION NOW!

I get so sick of all the leftwing geckos scurrying about, tongues darting, eyes rolling, repeating the same inane leftist slogans over and over. One of them is "End the Occupation!" They are referring to Israel existing in its traditional homeland. They didn't "occupy" anything, they already owned it. Leftists, though, figured out that the civilized and productive society was called "Israel" and the barbarian, savage hordes who strap bombs on children so they can murder lots of strangers are called "Palestinians." Needless to say the Left immediately went ga-ga over the Palestinians and began denouncing Jews.

Hey, no brainer there. Any self-respecting leftist knows who to side with, the ones who murder strangers....and genitally mutilate women, hang gays, stone fornicators, dismember petty thieves, and generally engage in anti-social behavior. So the libs shout "End the Occupation!" which means, "we want more Muslim terrorists and bomb-throwing psychopaths in headscarfs and fewer Nobel Prize winning physicists, surgeons, economists, inventors, capitalists and various other assorted geniuses!"

Libbies know what their values are: in a choice between god-awful and swell, choose god-awful. I have no doubt that if offered a choice between dog barf and ice cream, most liberals would choose dog barf. They are just programmed that way, i.e. to self-destruct. They don't even need to strap on any explosive vests. They have something much more dangerous, i.e. their political philosophy.

When countering leftist thought, I think we have to think outside the box here. Obviously, what the Middle East needs desperately is more Jews, not less, and a lot more Israel and a lot less Iran and Syria. All of those mosques would make nice synagogues with a little remodeling and delousing. Remove the quarter moons (they should be reserved for the doors of outhouses anyway) and replace them with menorahs and hang out a sign that says "Under New Management."

Clearly, we must insist on expanding the occupation, not ending it. Because expanding the Jewish occupation of the Middle East is to expand modernity, reason, enlightenment, progress, tolerance and prosperity. What's not to like, unless you're allergic to bagels?

So here's the plan: we must have massive demonstrations across Europe and the USA, carrying signs that boldly demand EXPAND THE OCCUPATION NOW! Muslims OUT of Iran and Syria. (Muslims in other places will be considered on a case-by-case basis.) Since lefties like to wear those ugly Muslim scarfs ("keffiyehs" or something equally unpronounceable), we must all wear black fedoras and yarmalukes while demonstrating. Skull caps will be an acceptable alternative to fedoras. Beards are optional.

The U.S. Economy: To Hell in a Hand Basket

As I sit back and calmly watch Western Civilization unravel, I find myself strangely unemotional about it all. The Dems finally achieved a major goal: to get control of the economy. All they had to do is severely wound it, then offer it band-aids to stem the blood. Brilliant. Machiavelli would beam with pride. Is the global warming scam even necessary any more? Fascism has come by other means.

I feel the economic decline personally. The appreciation in the value of my house over the past eight years is now gone. The house is worth about what I paid for it. I always figured I'd sell it for a good profit and use the money to move to a saner locale than California. That plan is kaput.

The company I work for is losing their ass in this economy and so cut back my hours from 40 per week to 24. They continue to hemorrhage money and I'm fairly certain my 24 hours will be cut back to zero soon. I am looking for other work but it's a tough market.

Still, I feel neither upset nor overly worried. Sometimes, in order to escape some rotten structure, you just have to let the damn thing collapse. Let the Dems have their fun. Since I feel no connection to, nor identification with, the incoming administration, I don't care much what they do. I almost feel like a detached observer of events. My bank account, however, would disagree. I am affected by these events as we all are.

After Thanksgiving, I will be polishing the old resume, however. Happy Thanksgiving, Y'all.

Old Boats and the Lonely Shore

There's something fascinating about an old boat on a lonely beach. Often their proud names, painted on the bow, are still visible and seem ironic in light of the boat's present state of decay. Names like "Discovery" or "Adventure" or "Enterprise."

I saw a photo (see below) of one such boat decaying on a beach in Alaska. It's name was "Try Again II." Maybe it should Try Again III since it's obvious the first two tries didn't work out.

These old boats are very photogenic, like the old rotting barns so popular with photographers. They give us a sense of passing time. What was once beautiful and proud is now dilapidated and abandoned, transformed by the forces of time and circumstance. In musing upon these relics we are made to realize that our lives too will pass away and new generations arise to take our place. Let us sail proudly and productively while we can.

Above photo is a Photoshop that I created from images off the web, combined into a new image. The grass is from a Photoshop brush. Click on image to see it full size. It makes a nice Windows desktop background.

Below is the photo of the Try Again II.

Yes, we will try again...until we get it right.
