Bill O'Reilly Calls for Injunction Against Pastor Terry Jones

I saw this exchange on television yesterday and can vouch for its accuracy. I found the text of it on the web.  O'Reilly is a jerk and certainly no friend of liberty, and this exchange proves it.
Bill O'Reilly, host of the O'Reilly Factor on the Fox News Channel, on September 9, 2010, called for the courts to act to shut down the suspended (as of this writing) Koran burning protest by the Gainesville, Florida based Dove World Outreach Center.

O'Reilly made his remarks in a segment with lawyers Lis Wiehl and Kimberly Guilfoyle.

O'Reilly said, "I believe, Guilfoyle, a case can be made here, it was the Supreme Court rul(ing) you can't have a public display that intimidates if the intention of it is to harm. And certainly burning the holy book of more than three million Americans, Muslim Americans, is meant to harm them emotionally and intimidate."

Then to Wiehl, O'Reilly said, "I think on legal grounds Wiehl, correct me if I'm wrong, there is a good case to say, 'you cannot do this because the sole purpose of this is to intimidate people and inflict emotional damage.'"

Wiehl noted the Supreme Court has ruled burning the American flag is legal as a possible reason for no one going to court yet to stop the Koran burning.

O'Reilly replied, "That's true, but I think it should be adjudicated, and they can slap an injunction on the guy and say he can't do it."
Pathetic!  If O'Reilly has such a dismal understanding of the First Amendment, he ought to cash in his chips and call it a career.  Sometimes I'd just like to slap the guy.

Terry Jones: ‘I Canceled the Quran Burning Fest Before I Suspended It’

Pastor Jones has a following of 50.... without the Press this is a non-event.  The Press makes it a story, then tries to tear it down.... unbelievable!

I am not sure why it is so acceptable to burn the American Flag... but it is.  That is where the outrage should be focused.  I might be alone in this sentiment, but I personally feel burning a countries flag is more sacrilegious than burning a holy book.... but that's me.

You're right about the non-event.  The press was looking for something to create a news story and this was it.

Send in the National Guard to seize the 200 Qurans from Jones, turn them over to an imam.  Quick, effective way of telling Jones his 15 minutes is soooo over.

Yes, Liz, I am sure the folks who destroyed the Twin Towers nine years ago today would be happy with your suggested solution.  Been fitted for your burqua yet?

O'Reilly and Buchanan and most 'conservatives' are Quislings. They inspired my site.

While you're there, see my "Open Letter to General Petraeus."
